At long last, a gallery is up and running on my site. After playing around with with a few available galleries, I settled on using the Simple Gallery module.

But the main question is "for how long"? I was surprised when I noticed that my last update was in December 2007, and given the fact that I wanted to add a gallery to upload the snaps I had taken down under, I decided that it was time I revamped my website.

RSS Feed Update

I am now managing my feeds through FeedBurner. This is the first of the many updates I had planned (at least a year back). Well, better late than never. Anyway, all you guys who actually subscribe to my feed, please update the link. It wouldn't harm the rest of you who have not yet subscribed to the feed to do so now . Now that one item is off my stack, I hope to continue to pop the remaining items from the stack at a faster rate.

What do you call guys who have no originality? I don't know if the word Plagiarism fits the bill in this case, though it comes pretty close. But the person who is involved in this particular incident is literally a copy cat.

Only One more Month to go

Exactly one month to go, and we will have the final installment of the Harry Potter series in our midst. There is no point in hiding that I thoroughly enjoyed the series so far, and am eagerly waiting for Deathly Hallows. But this post is not about the book or the series (or the movie for that matter), but a certain news I read today, that rather amused me.

What happens when you ask a friend who is a software engineer to test your application when he is irritated (most probably by some dumb queries or defects at his workplace)? You will most likely bear the brunt of his frustration. I happened to be in such a situation when I asked my friend to check out my comic reader application. What followed was... well you better read it, that will be better than my explanation.

Comex - Now More than just a Comic Viewer!!

When I started this project, my intention was not just to create a Comic Reader though it was my first priority. Having a large collection of comics, I also wanted some application using which I could manage the comics. As usual I first searched for it, and didn't find any. So once I was done with the basic comic reader, I thought of adding an organizer to it. This is where I was really pleased with myself for having started the application as an Eclipse plug-in.

Finally!! I have managed to add all the features I had thought of when I began to write this Plug-in. The main difference between this version the previous versions is the support of .cbr (or rar) file format along with a few bug fixes.

Now i have some good ideas based on feedback from various people, to make Comex more than just a Comic Book Reader. I am not mentioning them as I do not want to commit myself to it before deciding on the viability of the features. If any of you would like to see some feature please don't hesitate to mention it.
