Jio Phone: Delivery Date Status, Next Sale, and Other Things You Need to Know

Jio Phone deliveries have commenced, with Reliance Jio confirming that all 6 million customers who pre-booked the handset will get the handset by Diwali. This will be good news for the consumers based in Tier-1, 2, and 3 cities as well as rural areas, since it means they won't have to wait too long for the Jio Phone delivery date. Though Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani had earlier said the company aims to delivery 5 million units a week, it is unlikely to happen at least till the logistics processes are cemented. On the other hand, if you were unable to book Jio Phone in August, you might just have to wait a little longer. Here's what you need to know about the Jio Phone booking process, delivery dates, price, and more.

How to book Jio Phone?

To book Jio Phone you have three options – the Jio.com website, the MyJio app, and authorised offline Jio retailers. All you need to do make the Jio Phone booking is to give your phone number and the pincode delivery address, and pay a sum of Rs. 500. Once the booking has been made, you will receive a voucher number that you can refer to while picking up the handset. When the Jio Phone you booked is up for delivery, you will receive an SMS mentioning the store from which it can be picked up. Even the units booked online will have to be picked up offline. For now, the bookings are closed.

Can I book the Jio Phone for a friend?

Yes, you can book multiple Jio Phone units, for your friends and family. All you need is their respective phone numbers and delivery pincodes. You will have to make a Rs. 500 payment for each unit you pre-order at the time of booking itself.

How to check Jio Phone booking status?

To check Jio Phone booking status, you have two options - the MyJio app, and an IVR number. If you want to check Jio Phone booking status online, open MyJio app and tap on the Manage Booking option. After providing your registered phone number and OTP, you will see the My Vouchers page on the screen. At the moment the Status field just says Created, but as the Jio Phone delivery date for your unit draws near, it should show the date and details of the store from which the phone can be picked up. Alternatively, you can call 18008908900 via the number from which you booked the handset. This is an IVR number, and you just need to follow the instructions.

When is Jio Phone delivery date?

Citing channel partners, a new report says the Jio Phone deliveries have started, which is in line with Gadgets 360's reportage on the shipping commencing around Navratri. The deliveries will be completed over the next 15 days, the report says, adding that users in rural areas and smaller cities will get the device before those in urban areas. On Twitter, the company has said the handset will be delivered to all customers by Diwali. Each user will receive the delivery schedule and details of the offline store their unit can be picked up from via SMS.

When will Jio Phone bookings start again?

Jio Phone bookings were suspended early on August 26 after "millions" booked the handset, with no indication of when the booking will start again. However, if you want to remain updated regarding the next time Jio Phone pre-booking opens, you can head to the official website and register your interest. With this, you will be notified about the next time the handset goes on sale via SMS and email.

When do I make the full payment?

The refundable security amount for Jio Phone is Rs. 1,500, of which Rs. 500 is, as mentioned above, paid at the time of booking. The remaining Rs. 1,000 has to be paid when you pick up the handset from the offline store.

How many units can I book?

On the MyJio app and Jio.com website, there seems to be no cap on how many units of the handset can be booked (we went up to 30 units). Multiple units can be booked against the same number and pincode as well, and you just need to make the Rs. 500 partial deposit per unit at the time of booking.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?

After ordering the Jio 4G phone, if you decide against buying it, you can transfer the booking to someone else using the Transfer option in the MyJio app, under Manage Bookings. After entering your number and OTP, you will see an overview of your Jio Phone bookings, with information such as orders placed and number of units for each order. Now, tap on the Transfer button above the Jio Phone banner, and the screen will switch to a new interface with the option to reassign your booking to someone else. All you will have to do is to provide the new user’s phone number, the new delivery pincode, and number of units to be transferred (in case you booked more than one). The recipient will instantaneously receive a SMS from Jio mentioning their new booking.

How much data will I get with the phone?

The phone comes with two primary recharge packs, priced at Rs. 153 and Rs. 309. The Rs. 153 Jio Phone pack provides 500MB data at 4G speeds, and the speed goes down to 128kbps after the high-speed data cap is exhausted. You will also get 300 free SMSs, access to compatible Jio apps, such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioXpressNews, and JioMusic. Voice calls are free on the Jio network as well.

With the Rs. 309 Jio Phone recharge pack, you will get the same benefits as the Rs. 153 pack, but 1GB of data per day. If you plan to use the Jio Phone-TV Cable, called the JioMediaCable, that lets you mirror content playing on the phone directly on the big screen then you must buy the Rs. 309 recharge pack. This recharge pack will become available for purchase only when the cable hits the market. There are also two sachet packs of Rs. 24 and Rs. 54, with validities of 2 days and 7 days, respectively.

Is the Jio Phone-TV Cable free? Where and when can I buy it?

The JioMediaCable will not be available free, though it is not yet clear how much it will cost. Similarly, there is no clarity at the moment regarding its launch date. However, it is confirmed that the accessory will be available to purchase both online and offline for Jio Phone buyers.

Which apps will work on Jio Phone?

Jio says apart from its own apps, users will get popular instant messaging and social networking apps on the handset. However, WhatsApp – inarguably the most popular messaging app in India – is not present on the KAI OS-based platform at the moment, though it may be added later on. We did catch a glimpse of Facebook on the phone at the launch event, along with PM Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat app. With a VGA camera in front, you can expect video calling apps – JioVideoCall at least – to work on the handset too. Other Jio apps that will be preloaded on the phone are JioShare, JioGames, and a Web browser.

If we are talking about the phone’s software, the device’s HelloJio voice recognition system that supports 22 Indian languages needs to be mentioned as well. According to the demo at the launch event, the voice recognition system will allow users to control certain functions on the phone by saying commands aloud in their vernacular languages. The website says it can make calls, send SMSs, launch the browser and camera apps, and open JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic etc.

Which languages are supported on the Jio Phone?

The Jio Phone supports 22 Indian languages that should cover most of the regional languages in the country. The full list of languages supported by the Jio Phone (in alphabetical order) is Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

What are the key Jio Phone features and specifications?

Jio Phone has a 2.4-inch display with 320x240 pixel resolution, dual-core 1.2GHz Spreadtrum SPRD 9820A/QC9805 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal with expansion support up to 128GB, 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 2000mAh battery with talk time of 12 hours, NFC for digital payments (software support to be added later), Bluetooth 4.1, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0 support.

You will get a flashlight, alphanumeric keypad with 4-way navigation button in the middle, FM radio, and headphone jack on the phone. It will also have Microsoft Exchange email support, and allow you to import contacts synced with your Google account. The company says some of these features will be released later via software updates.

Sachin: A Billion Dreams review: Tendulkar’s story told from the heart leaves you enthralled

The biopic of one of the greatest players to have ever set foot on the cricket field had to be one of the most awaited films of the year. It indeed was and in more ways than one, it did live up to its billing. I could sense the excitement among the people that had gathered at PVR Juhu in Mumbai as the premiere of Sachin: A Billion Dreams was about to start.

Director James Erskine, who addressed the audience at the theatre before the film got underway, said it was “quite a responsibility to make the film for the global audience” adding that he had sought to make the film for every member of the audience.

You empathise with Erskine, for it must have been difficult to handle a subject that had the emotions of a billion riding on it, but it must be said that he did a terrific job.

Sachin is not just a cricketer, but he was an integral part of national consciousness. He was the hope of a country struggling to make its mark in the 1990s. A Sachin century in faraway England or Australia evoked the same sense of pride and achievement for the nation, as maybe a satellite launch, as people across the length and breadth of the country huddled around their radio sets in that pre-cable TV era. In more ways than one, Sachin was India and India was Sachin, his appeal transcended barriers of region and language.

The film takes you on a journey of nostalgia and you are transported to a day and age where life was simple, and hopes of a country centred on the shoulders of a young, curly-haired Mumbaikar as he confidently took on all comers.

The film starts with the frolics of a young boy, full of mischief, who given a chance would love to stay outdoors. There is a striking resemblance between the child actor playing Sachin and Sachin himself at that age. The life of the Tendulkar household was simple and revolved around this life bundle of energy.

The film achieves in showing that the superhero, had the same vulnerabilities as any of us and was faced with similar trials and tribulations. Sachin reveals the utter disappointment he felt when he was made captain, and the team did not win the matches they should have, and was unceremoniously dumped as the captain. His conviction comes through when he says that the captaincy can be taken away from him — but not cricket.

Next up is a bout of absolute cricket nostalgia as we see India's battle with Australia and a match up with spin wizard Shane Warne: Visuals of an epic battle from that high voltage series in 1997-98 have punches and counter-punches that make for a sumptuous treat.

The biggest moment of all comes when Don Bradman compares Sachin with himself!

Inevitably, references to 'Desert Storm' and the innings against Pakistan in the Chennai Test in 1999 come up. But what makes the film stand out apart from the pieces of cricketing brilliance, is the way Sachin's relationship with his wife Anjali is depicted. Right from their first meeting, to Anjali giving up on her medical career to support her husband, and how she stood by him through thick and thin — the relationship is shown with a lot of sensitivity.

You'll have a lump in your throat as Sachin speaks of his father's death, news of which he got while he was with the Indian team for the World Cup in England in 1999.

Sachin returned to England after attending his father's last rites and hit a hundred straight away. By his own admission, it was his mother who goaded him to return and play for the country as that was what his father would have wanted. Sachin's strength of character in such a difficult time inspires utter respect.

One of the most difficult times in Sachin's career — when he was made captain for the second time, though he was reluctant to take over the reins after the bitter experience last time. And then comes one of the murkiest times in Indian cricket history... The match fixing saga is at its peak. Every cricket-playing nation is being investigated and fans' anger is threatening to boil over. Sachin is utterly disappointed and angered by it all. In these dark, hard times, we see Sachin perhaps find some solace in the company of his friends. We also get to see his love for fast cars.

Beyond these troubled times, the new millennium brings hope in the form of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, VVS Laxman and of course, Sachin. The mighty Australians come here for a tour, and it is the turning point for Indian cricket. India gets hammered in the first match and has its back back to the wall in the second match, but then Eden Gardens bore witness to an unbelievable comeback — and possibly the match of the century. Sachin slams a century in the next match and India pockets the series!

More goosebumps follow as the scene shifts to the 2002 Natwest Trophy win — Ganguly taking his shirt off and twirling in the air brought out the whistles from the people assembled in the theatre! The fast-paced music adds to the atmosphere wonderfully. Composed by AR Rahman, the music perfectly befits each scene.

The pressure of expectation on the great man is well known, but what the film does is make it all so real. You might think of Sachin as a 'Cricket God' and a superhero, but he has had all the vulnerabilities that any of us have, and the film brings all of that out with a great deal of maturity.

From being the hope of a struggling nation, to the emblem of a country ready to take on the world, Sachin has traversed a long, arduous path. And from his first 200 in an ODI to the World Cup win in 2011, the film takes you on a fairytale ride with Sachin. The 'Master Blaster' had started his career at Mumbai and won the World Cup in the city itself. You see life coming full circle for him; from boy-next-door to God of cricket.

You tear up again, when the time comes for his retirement at an emotional Wankhede. There would not have been a soul in the stadium that day or any Sachin fan anywhere who would have been able to control his/her emotions.

As a viewer, you'll be enchanted at the way this film catches the numerous moments that made Sachin a legend. Couple that with the 'Saaachin Saaachin' chants and peppy music in the background — and Sachin: A Billion Dreams is an evening well spent at the theatre and I am willing to give a four out of five rating to this film.

Oppo A77 has been launched by the company in Taiwan. The smartphone comes in two colour options – Gold and Rose Gold. It is priced at $10,990 Taiwanese dollar, which is around Rs 24,000 in India. Pre-orders for Oppo A77 start May 19, while shipments will begin from May 26.

The highlight of Oppo A77 is its 16MP front camera which comes with f/2.0 aperture, Beautify 4.0 and background blur feature. There’s 13MP rear camera with phase detection auto focus, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. Oppo A77 has a metal unibody design with a front facing fingerprint scanner.

Actor Pawan Kalyan’s Twitter account has been hacked. The Katamarayudu star tweets with the @PawanKalyan handle.

“Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s official twitter account has been blocked. We believe it has been hacked. After checking with experts, severe action will be taken,” read a statement from Kalyan’s party Janasena.

Pawan Kalyan joined Twitter in 2015 and has been quite active since then. He has nearly 2 million followers on the social networking site.

On the career front, he is currently shooting for a yet-untitled project with director Trivikram. They have teamed up for the third time after Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi.

He is also reportedly in talks to star in the Telugu remake of Jolly LLB 2.

AP SSC class 10th results 2017 to be declared at 3pm: Know what you need to pass

AP 10th results 2017: The Andhra Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (AP BSE) of the Directorate of Examinations will declare the results of the Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) class 10 board exams today. The results will be available for candidates after 3 pm from the official site once the marks have been released. The state class 10 SSC exams were conducted from March 26 to April 16, 2017 and about 7 lakh candidates appeared for the papers.

Candidates appeared for three non-language and three language papers. While the grading system is common for most subject, the second language paper has a different method due to the difference in the minimum passing marks.

Students will be awarded grades and grade points on the basis of their scores and will need to score at least 35 marks out of 100 in each subject to pass, but have to score a minimum of 20 to pass the second language paper. The grades range from A1 to E while the minimum grade point begins at 3 all the way up to 10.

Here is how the grading system works:

The Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated by adding up the marks of all six subjects (out of 600) and corresponding it to the grade for the total score.

Last year, the results were declared on May 10 and the pass percentage stood at 94.52 per cent among the 6,17, 030 candidates who participated. Girls had a pass percentage of 94.77, outperforming boys who had a 94.30 pass percentage.

Steps to download the results for AP SSC 2017:

– Go to the official website for the SSC Board (bse.ap.gov.in).

– Click on the notification for the SCC exam results.

– Enter your details in the fields provided and submit.

– Download your results and take a print out of the same for further reference.

Reliance Jio once again surprised its users by introducing new Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan plan on Tuesday. The company also announced that it is fully withdrawing its Summer Surprise offer following the advice of Telecom Regulatory authority of India (TRAI).

Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan is company's new 'all unlimited' plan with special benefits, exclusively for its Jio Prime members as well as for its new users. The plans start with the Rs 309 plan, which provides unlimited SMS, calling and data with 1GB 4G data per day for 84 days on first recharge.

Although Reliance Jio says that the plans are available for recharge but the Jio website still doesn't have the Dhan Dhana Dhan offfer details. Hopefully soon the information will be up there soon. In the meantime, if you are curious about the new Jio plan, here are all the relevant details you need to know.

1. Summer Surprise is over: Jio finally stopped its Summer Surprise offer on Tuesday. Also, users who have already subscribed to Summer Surprise cannot avail the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer.

2. There are two types of plans under Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan: Jio has introduced two types of plans under its new offer -- one for Prime members and the other for non-prime members. Users who have already taken the Prime subscription for Rs 99 will get unlimited voice calls, SMSes and 1GB 4G data per day for 84 days at Rs 309. This means in total they will get 84GB 4G data on first recharge for three months. For subsequent recharge, the data is reduced to 28GB and the pack validity is only for 28 days.

For 2GB data per day, Prime users need to pay Rs 509 and get unlimited access to voice calls, SMSes and 2GB 4G data per day for 84 days at RS 509. This means in total 168GB of 4G data. On subsequent recharge you get 56GB data and the pack validity is reduced to 28 days.

3. Non-prime members plan: Non-prime and new Jio members can avail the 1GB data pack at Rs 408. User will get unlimited voice calls, SMSes and 1GB 4G data per day for 84 days. For 2GB per day, user needs to pay Rs 608.

4. Existing Jio Summer Surprise users: User who have subscribed to Jio Summer Surprise before April 11 will continue to get the services under the offer.

5. Idea behind the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan: Jio says it is currently implementing the world's largest migration from free to paid services in such a short period of time and therefore for the smooth transition it has implemented these plans. The bottom-line of the story is that Jio is no longer going to be a free affair after April 15, 2017 and users will have to take one or the other plan to continue using its services. Company has clearly stated that those who have not done their first recharge so far, need to do so by 15 April 2017 to avoid discontinuation of services.

Samsung's new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are the most beautiful phones in the world right now. Their beauty comes at a cost though. Not only are the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ more expensive than last year's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, they would also cost you a bomb should you crack their gorgeous Infinity screens. The first bit is understandable. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ ought to be expensive. The second bit is understandable as well. All that glass and all those curves ought to make for one fragile handset. What's hard to understand is why Samsung isn't offering an insurance cover with its new flagship Galaxy S phones. It is giving you a wireless charger instead.

I don't know about others, but, I'll rather bet my money on an accidental cover. A wireless charger, I can still live without.

One look at the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ and it's pretty clear why Samsung isn't offering an insurance cover this time round. It did offer one last year with the Galaxy S7 Edge. All those who pre-booked the Galaxy S7 Edge -- post launch -- were eligible for one time screen replacement insurance for an added Rs 999. There's no such offer available with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. An iFixit teardown of the Galaxy S8+ explains why.

The fifth-generation Gorilla Glass is not just scratch-proof; it will make your phone virtually shatter-proof, according to Corning. It has been built to withstand drops, drops of magnanimous proportions, it says. The Glass 5 holds the distinction of surviving up to 80 per cent of the time when dropped face-down in Corning lab tests. But, there are still a good 20 per cent of cases where things could turn upside down. That's besides the fact that lab tests are lab tests and as accurate as they might be, real-world scenarios can (and will) catch you completely off-guard simply because you can't control them.

A phone like the Galaxy S8 (and Galaxy S8+) even though it has the industry's class-leading glass -- and lots and lots of it -- isn't full-proof to cracking when dropped facing-down. YouTube is already full of videos of users having taken Samsung's new near bezel-less phones for a ride, and the results in most cases haven't been quite encouraging for potential buyers. An accidental cover -- even for a limited period -- could have perhaps helped gain their trust. And frankly speaking, Samsung needs it -- consumer trust -- now more than ever. It might have pulled off a non-exploding phone this time round, but, Samsung's new phones are certainly not without their flaws.

Reliance Jio announced its Jio Prime offer in late February and it became available to users from March 1. Since then there has a been a flurry of activity inside India's telecom industry. There is a new price war. The Prime offer is pretty neat. It comes with a Rs 99 annual membership fee but then also brings plans like Rs 303 plan and Rs 499 plan that give Jio users 28GB and 56GB monthly 4G data, respectively. Given how tempting the Jio Prime offers are, other telecom operators like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and others have responded.

The new plans offered by Airtel, Vodafone and Idea too seem pretty good. You must have heard about them. But in case you haven't, here are some highlights:

-- Airtel seemingly has a Rs 345 plan that gives users 28GB 4G data per month. Although half of this data is available only between 3am to 5am.

-- Idea is offering a Rs 345 plan with monthly data quota of 14GB.

-- Vodafone has a Rs 346 plan, with monthly data limit of 28GB.

-- At the same time, there are other plans from these companies. In some older plans, the amount of data that is available has been doubled. In some others, a few new features have been added.

This all sounds good. After all, if you are getting more data for the same amount of money as well as now have all your calls and messages available for free, it is great news. The problem, however, is that none of these plans have been announced publicly by the companies that are supposedly offering them. So, they are not available in most cases. Chances are that you can't walk into an Airtel store and subscribe to Rs 345 plan.

There is just too much confusion. India Today Tech asked Airtel, Vodafone and Idea to comment on these plans that they are supposedly offering, but they offer no clarity. The reason is simple: they want the confusion to persist because they are too loathe to give up their old ways. The confusion among customers is good because it allows Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and all these old telecom companies to charge different rates from different customers. May be just to create buzz, they will offer some special plan to 100-odd customers. You will hear about it in news. But that plan won't be available to all.

Companies that hate giving out information about their services and products to consumers in a clear and concise way are the worst. They feed on the misinformation or missing information. Your friend, because he called up Airtel customer care, may have a great plan for his phone. But just because you never bothered to call up Airtel customer, you will keep using a bad plan where you will pay Rs 1000 for 2GB data. That great plan, which your friend has, won't be available on the Airtel or Vodafone website. So you won't know about it and will keep on paying high prices.

Then there is the pre-paid vs post-paid argument. Just because post-paid users are somewhat more committed, they will get the raw end of the deal. All these special 28GB plans that companies are offering are for only pre-paid customers. What about post paid customers? As an example, Airtel says they will get a "surprise offer" on March 13 directly through a SMS or My Airtel app. What will be this surprise offer? No one knows, but it is almost sure that different customers will get different surprise offers. And these surprise won't be available to all.

This is the same kind of misinformation and obfuscation that is seen when it comes to salaries. Salaries are not made public in an organisation because keeping them secret helps the company maintain a certain level of coherency. It has both negative and positive aspects to it.

But phone plans and data tariffs are services. They are not salaries. These are services that telecom companies sell at a price. Keeping them secret from users serves no purpose from consumer's point of view. It just helps telecom companies make more money in a not so nice manner. It helps them feed on people who might not want to take that half an hour long call with customer care.

Apple has silently announced an all new 32 gig version of the iPhone 6. Previously spotted in Taiwan, the new iPhone 6 (32GB) is now available in India at a staggering low price of Rs 28,999 on Amazon . But, there's a catch. This version of the iPhone 6 will be available at its introductory low price for just one day. The limited period offer ends on March 7, according to the e-retailer.

But, look at it this way, the 16GB version of the iPhone 6 is available on the same website for Rs 30,399. An iPhone 6 with 32GB of internal memory at Rs 28,999, therefore, seems to be a killer deal, at least on paper. Not so much when you take into consideration that the iPhone 6 is an almost three year old smartphone now. And then there's the OnePlus 3T.

Both the iPhone 6 and the OnePlus 3T have full-metal unibodies. Both the phones scream premium from every nook and corner. Design is, of course, subjective. The iPhone 6 and the OnePlus 3T will mean different things to different people and that's understandable. Also, a lot will depend on how someone perceives their ideal smartphone to be. While the iPhone 6 is a 4.7-inch phone, the OnePlus 3T is a 5.5-inch one. Both the phones have front-mounted fingerprint scanners. The OnePlus 3T, additionally, has physical capacitive keys that are also backlit.
The front of the OnePlus 3T is carved out of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 while in the case of the iPhone 6 you get an ion-strengthened (curved) glass with oleophobic coating to protect from accidental spillage. If you were to talk about screen-to-body ratio, the OnePlus 3T wins hands down. The iPhone 6, because it has wide chunky bezels, offers less real estate. Both the phones come with toggle switches to control/limit the kind of notification alerts that you want at any given time.
While the iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7-inch HD IPS LCD display (750x1334 pixels) the OnePlus 3T has a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED screen. While the OnePlus 3T offers punchy, oversaturated colours with deep blacks, the iPhone 6 offers a more neutral colour palette.
The OnePlus 3T is powered by Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 821 processor (Quad-core 2x2.35 GHz Kryo & 2x1.6 GHz Kryo) clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal memory at similar pricing. The iPhone 6, on the other hand, is powered by Apple's two-generation old A8 mobile processor (Dual-core 1.4 GHz Typhoon) clubbed with PowerVR GX6450 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Now, you can argue -- all you want - that an iPhone is slicker than an Android phone, and it is. But, a two-generation old processor is still a two-generation old processor. You can do the math now.
Then, there's the software. While the OnePlus 3T runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based OxygenOS (upgradable to Android Nougat) the iPhone 6 ships with a two-generation old iOS 8 (upgradable to iOS 10.2). Although, the iPhone 6 is upgradable to Apple's latest software, it must be know, that older phones not fully supporting new software update isn't surprising, even in the case of Apple. This is because most of the software features are designed keeping hardware in mind. You can't expect to run everything as smooth as butter on old-gen hardware. Every new major iOS update seemingly has a reputation of slowing down an older iPhone/iPad leaving users both anxious and reluctant whether to upgrade or not. And just so you know, iOS 11 is coming.
The OnePlus 3Tsports a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash. It supports 4K video recording as well. The iPhone 6, on the other hand, comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. 4K video recording isn't supported. On the front, while the OnePlus 3T has a 16-megapixel camera, the iPhone 6 has a 1.2-megapixel camera.
While the OnePlus 3T is backed by a 3,400mAh battery, the iPhone 6 has a 1,810mAh battery inside. I am sure, you've all heard about OnePlus' Dash Charging functionality.
Additionally, the OnePlus 3T is a dual-SIM smartphone, while the iPhone 6 supports only single-SIM. If you're into that sort of thing, that is.

It must be clearly understood that the iPhone 6 isn't a bad smartphone. But, come to think of it, it doesn't belong in the world we live in today unless of course you absolutely have to have one. Even if you're a die-hard Apple fan, the iPhone SE makes more sense than the iPhone 6. You will get a smaller 4-inch screen but all the latest in hardware and software. After all, the 4-inch iPhone from Apple is everything that the iPhone 6S is (save 3D Touch) only in a 5S-esque body which means that it is a relatively newer-generation phone. For everything else, there is the OnePlus 3T.

social media India's northeast to get experts to enhance its digital presence || social media

In line with the Centre's Act East Policy, the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, (MDoNER) will soon be hiring a private agency to enhance its digital presence. Tenders have already been invited to this effect.

The agency will mandated to spread, manage and promote information about the ministry and its activities on different social media platforms and increase the overall online presence of MDoNER.

Confirming the development Naveen Verma, Secretary of DoNER, said many a time, information about important government schemes for the northeast do not reach the target audience and a strong social media presence will help further the cause.

"Social media with its presence will not only help disseminate information about important government schemes, but also pave way for a two-way interaction with the people of northeast," he told DNA.

It will also keep a watch on the activities of the netizens on its digital platforms, carry out trend and sentiment analysis of news related to it, carefully respond to comments and tweets and provide appropriate response in certain cases after consulting the ministry. It also provide a daily report of such responses to the ministry.

The agency will also require to monitor other media platforms including print, TV and web using MDoNER-approved keywords. It will be tracking the keywords on select platforms and provide a report analysing the sentiments, nature of post, comment or any related article.

They will have to redesign the current website of MDoNER and make it more attractive by updating all relevant information of the ministry and introducing feedback forms, post latest news and keep a tab of its social media presence.

The agency professionals will also have to create a Facebook page which will be regularly posting news relevant to the ministry. They will also have to create a dedicated Twitter handle for the ministry which will keep on posting information and exploit a database for increasing followers.

It will also be managing one or more YouTube channels for the ministry, work on increasing viewership on the channels. It will have to create a blog site for MDoNER.

The agency will also have the mandate of creating content for its Wikipedia page, update and monitor it round-the-clock.

It will be required to create multimedia contents on select topics for promotion on various digital platforms which would include infographics as well as posters and banners for online and on-ground campaigns and events.

According to sources, agencies based out of the north east or comprising professionals from the region will be preferred to others since they would understand the region and its economics better.

With its Jio 4G telecom services officially up and running, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited is gearing up to launch its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) broadband service in India. The service is called Jio Fiber and it will rolled out as a Preview in the coming weeks.

The company is apparently looking to give its FTTH service -- to be called Reliance JioFiber -- the same treatment it gave to its 4G telecom services in the initial run. Which means, just the way Jio 4G was available via Preview in the beginning; Jio Fiber will be available via Preview as well. But while Jio 4G was available for free for one and all, subscribers who register for Jio Fiber broadband Preview will be required to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 4,500.

While it's largely being said that Jio Fiber broadband, when up and running, would offer up to 1GBps of speeds, the company -- at least during Preview - will offer speeds of up to 100Mbps. While it's still not exactly clear whether Jio Fiber broadband Preview will have the same three-month usage window as Jio 4G Preview did back in the day when it was free, but, the service will come with an FUP of 100 GB after which the speeds will go down to 1 Mbps. Furthermore, Jio Fiber broadband Preview is expected to go live starting with Mumbai and hopefully other cities will follow in the days to come. It's not all that surprising when you consider reports that the company is already conducting trial runs in Mumbai and Pune.

Nothing of this is official for now, but, it will be soon enough. For now Jio Fiber's official website -- which hasn't gone live yet -- is India Today Tech's basis for this report. The website, as of the moment is hidden for the general public but India Today Tech has managed to get some screenshots. Since all the information is coming straight from the horse's mouth, we can expect Jio Fiber broadband Preview to commence shortly.

Although, if you recall India Today Tech had earlier reported about the trial that Jio had started for the Fiber service in Mumbai. That trial was dubbed beta and was kind of a precursor for the Preview that will come out soon. The beta was also selectively available, while the Preview is likely to be available in more areas, within Mumbai, as well as in several other cities.

Although India is now home to a large number internet users, majority of them connect to the web using wireless connections like 2G, 3G, and 4G that are neither as fast as a good broadband nor as reliable. However, the neglect of the broadband sector has resulted in a situation where the wireless networks are clogged and even the wired services are poor, with users getting low speeds. Of late though the situation has improved after the arrival of ISPs like ACT. Jio's entry into the fiber broadband is likely to help users even more.

The impact of Jio Fiber, even when it is in a very early stage, is already visible. Sensing tough competition from Jio Fiber, Airtel recently announced the launch of V-Fiber that offers consumers in select cities and areas speeds of up to 100mbps using the ADSL2 technology. At the same time Airtel has also started ramping up its Fiber To The Home services, trying to expand it to more areas in the country. Currently Airtel's FTTH service offers speed of up to 100mbps

Meanwhile, Jio is is also gearing up to launch its DTH service with in-house smart TV boxes, but, there's very little information about them at this point of time.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked institutes under it to stop students from spitting on their campuses to ensure that they do not spit in public in the future.

The move is part of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign rolled out by the Centre on October 2, 2014. “The flagship programme of the Government of India has received enormous support from all technical institutions and is successfully being implemented,” AICTE chairman Anil D Sahasrabudhe noted in his letter to the principals and directors of engineering and other institutions offering technical programmes.

However, the practice of spitting in the open on the roadside “is still prevalent,” he noted. “One has to ensure change of the mindset and take preventive steps to stop this practice,” he said, asking the head of the institutions to take necessary steps in this regard.

The AICTE chief suggested that the heads of the institutions involve volunteers from the National Services Scheme, National Cadet Corps and other groups to start a campaign on their campuses against “the practice of spitting in the open.” “I am looking forward to your cooperation and support in creating mass awareness to stop this practice on the campuses,” he added.

A total of 10,330 technical institutes are functioning under the AICTE with more than 6.99 lakh teachers and 20.39 lakh students.

As shown in the first part, Baahubali(Prabhas)is declared as the king of Mahishmati. As part of the kingdom’s ancestral ritual, the would-be king needs to visit the countryside to know what problems the people in his kingdom are facing. In this process, Baahubali visits a small kingdom called Kuntala and falls in love with its princess Devasena (Anushka).

He woos Devasena with his charm and brings her to Mahishmati. But to his shock, Baahubali’s mother, Shivagami(Ramya Krishna) changes her decision suddenly and announces Bhallaladeva(Rana) as the king. The costumes, drama showcased and performances are a first of its kind in Telugu films.

Credit should go to Rajamouli for taking Indian films to another level with his mind blowing story telling. The way he has induced a terrific conflict between the two brothers is the major asset of the film. Prabhas unleashes his beastly side in the second part and takes away your senses with his striking performance. From the first scene, his screen presence is top notch and the way he takes Bhallaladeva head on is just terrific.

A lot was said about Anushka’s weight but boy she looks top class in this film. Right from her traditional costumes to her mature look, she has pulled off both the roles with ease. She looks slim and quite beautiful throughout the film. Coming to Rana, it would not be exaggerating to say that Rana will never get such a magnanimous role in the future. What makes the film even more fiery and ghastly is his fabulous villainous avatar. No other actor apart from him could have played this role of a lifetime and Rana has done full justice to it.

Nassar and Satyaraj are excellent in their roles and especially Nasser, is the major highlight among the supporting cast. Ramya Krishna showcases superb emotions and brings a lot of depth to the film. The family emotions are yet another highlight of the film as they elevate the proceedings with a lot of depth. The fist fight between Rana and Prabhas is a feast to the eye.

Minus Points:-

A number of audiences might get disappointed with the way Rajamouli has answered why Katappa killed Baahubali. Even though, the twist gels well with the script, it might not meet the expectations of many. Once the twist is revealed, the film becomes a bit predictable. The climax looks a bit rushed upon as things happen way too quickly.

Tamanna is hardly seen in the film and only appears during the climax. There are certain areas in the film where pace gets slow and some unforced drama overtakes the proceedings. The romance between Prabhas and Anushka could have been edited out a bit to make things better.

Technical Aspects:-

Baahubali 2 is one of the most technically efficient films made in India. If part one surprised you with its scale, then second part will leave you speechless with excellent visual effects and emotions. The kingdoms shown and sets created look top notch on screen. The entire team of Makuta should be appreciated for taking the film to another level with their VFX work.

What takes Baahubali to its peak is the stunning background score of M M Keeravani. Even though his songs are not that effective as the first part, the way he elevates the proceedings with his score is impressive. Dialogues are decent and so were the lyrics. Costumes done for every character looks top class. The weaponry created and props used look quite lethal.

Coming to the director Rajamouli, he has surely done India and the film fraternity proud with Baahubali. He has dreamt of something out of the box and has also succeeded in bringing life to India’s biggest motion picture. The way he has continued the story in the second part and made the drama even more intense is superb. There is more depth in the proceedings and every character has been given complete justification.

Every frame of Baahubali is his creation and you can’t but salute to the genius of this filmmaker who will be the next big thing in Indian cinema. At times, you just wonder how did he perceive all this in his mind and execute it in such a convincing manner. Technicians like him are rare and Telugu folks should be proud that our own director has gone ahead and proved that nothing is impossible.

On the whole, Baahubali 2 is one film which leaves you speechless. Right from the word go, it has intense drama and action as every frame in the film is a visual wonder. Be it the heroic fights or the lavish war scenes, Rajamouli showcases some never before scenes in Indian film history. This film will be remembered and spoken about for years to come and break every possible record in the country. The performances, drama and the lavish scale look jaw dropping and make this film a never before experience for every movie lover. Finally, just ignore the simple story line and do yourself a favor by taking your entire family to watch this magnum opus called Baahubali as wonders like these only happen very rarely.
