ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ) ਦੇ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਏਗੀ। ਕਲਕੱਤਾ ਵਿਖੇ 6 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1946 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਡਤ ਨਹਿਰੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ''ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਦਿਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। 15 ਅਗੱਸਤ 1947 ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਅਪਣੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਮਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਫ਼ਿਰਕੂ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼-ਵੰਡ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਹੂ-ਲੁਹਾਣ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਹਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਭਰ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਤਲੋਗ਼ਾਰਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਬਾਦਲਾ ਇਤਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੈਮਾਨੇ 'ਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਤਨਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਅਪਣੀ ਅੱਡਰੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਵੱਧ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ। ਫਿਰਕੂ ਫ਼ਸਾਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਧੀਆਂ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਪਤੀ ਹੋਈ। ਲਗਭਗ 40 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਵੱਸੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣੇ ਜੱਦੀ-ਪੁਸ਼ਤੀ ਘਰ-ਬਾਰ, ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ-ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ, ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਆਦਿ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਇੱਧਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਆਉਣਾ ਪਿਆ। ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਗਵਾਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਗੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਅੱਡਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਦ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਰੜੀ ਮੇਹਨਤ, ਲਗਨ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਖੜੇ ਹੋਏ।<br /> ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਨਰਗਠਨ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੰਥ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿੱਧ ਜੱਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੇ ਬੜਾ ਲੰਬਾ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਆਖ਼ਰ 1966 ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਮੰਗ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ''ਬੱਕਰੀ ਦੁੱਧ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਮੇਂਗਣਾਂ ਪਾ ਕੇ" ਦੇ ਅਖਾਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਗੁਲਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਲਾਲ ਨੰਦਾ ਨੇ ਐਂਟੀ-ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਾਬੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਡੈਮਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਜਮਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲੰਗੜੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੂਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਵਾਂ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸੇ ਲੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੇ 4 ਅਗੱਸਤ 1982 ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੌਂਗੋਵਾਲ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸੰਮੂਹ ਤੋਂ 'ਧਰਮ ਯੁੱਧ" ਮੋਰਚਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੂੰਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਵਾਂ ਹੁੰਗਾਰਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਢਾਈ ਲੱਖ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਕੀ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਜਾਏ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਚਲਣ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਬਕ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।<br />ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਸ ਹਮਲੇ ਲਈ ਸਮਾਂ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਰ, ਅਮਨ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੰਜ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਜਕ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਪੁਰਬ ਚੁਣਿਆ। ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਫੌਜ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਣਮਿੱਥੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ; ਰੇਲ, ਸੜਕ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੇ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ, ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਤੇ ਟੈਲੀਫ਼ੋਨ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀਆਨਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਸਥਾਨ 'ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਪੁਰਬ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਆਈਆਂ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ, ਧਰਮ ਯੁੱਧ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਲਾ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਵਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਕੁਆਰਟਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਹੀ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ। ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਹੀ ਲੰਮਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਅਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ।<br />ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਢਹਿ ਢੇਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਮੇਤ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਥਿਤ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪੁੱਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਡਿਓੜੀ ਉਪਰਲੀ ਛੱਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਤੋਸ਼ਾਖ਼ਾਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇ ਨਿਜ਼ਾਮ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭੇਂਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੀਰੇ ਜਵਾਹਰਾਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੜੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਚਾਨਣੀ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਸੇ-ਸਿੱਖ ਰੈਫ਼ਰੈਂਸ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦੇ ਹਸਤ ਕਮਲਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਅਨੇਕ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ, ਜਨਮ ਸਾਖੀਆਂ, ਹੱਥ ਲਿਖਤ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸਾਹਿਤ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ, ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਹੋ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।<br /> ਗੱਲ ਇਸ ਹਮਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕੀ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਫੌਜੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ''ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵੁੱਡਰੋਜ਼" ਅਧੀਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ, ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਦੌਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗਾ। ਕਥਿਤ ਅਤਿਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਟਾਡਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ। ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੱਧ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਭੀੜਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਘਰਾਂ, ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗਾਂ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ, ਬੀਬੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਪਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਹ-ਕੋਹ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੱਭਿਅਕ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ। ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਾਜੀਵ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀਆਨਾ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਕਿ ''ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਰਖ਼ਤ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਿੱਲਦੀ ਹੈ।" ਇੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਰਤਖ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁਰਅਮਨ ਰੋਸ ਮੁਜ਼ਾਹਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਅ ''ਕਾਲੀ ਸੂਚੀ" ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ' ਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ ਇੱਕ ਦਹਾਕਾ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਲਹਿਰ ਚੱਲੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤਾਪ ਭੋਗਿਆ।<br /> ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਠੇਸ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਈ। ਪਤਿਤ ਤੇ ਮੋਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਾੜ੍ਹੀ-ਕੇਸ ਰੱਖ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦਾੜ੍ਹੀ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ ਪਦਮ ਭੂਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਪਦਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਖ਼ਿਤਾਬ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਕਈ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਏ। ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਗ਼ਾਵਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸੇ ਰੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਸੰਨ 1984 ਦੇ ਘੱਲੂਘਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ ਤੇ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਮ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੰਢਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸੇਕ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਏਗਾ।<br /> ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਗੂ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਇਸ ਵਹਿਸ਼ੀਆਨਾ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਮੰਗੇ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿੰਨੀ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਤਤਕਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੁਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਟੌਹੜਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬੱਜਰ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਨਾਕਾਬਲੇ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਵੀ ਮੰਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਅਜ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੀਡਰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਹਮਲਾ ਬੇਲੋੜਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ''ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ" ਅਗਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਾਜੀਵ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਡਿਕਟੇਟਰ ਸੰਤ ਹਰਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੌਂਗੋਵਾਲ ਨਾਲ 24 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1985 ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਸਨ। ਜੇ ਕਰ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਨੇਤਾ ਸੰਤ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਣਾ ਜਾਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਸਨ। ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਹਮਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੰਬਰ 84 ਦੇ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਉਸ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਦੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਸੱਜਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਤੇ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਟਾਈਟਲਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਦਨਦਨਾਂਦੇ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸਿੱਖ ਤਾਂ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਮੀਰ ਮੰਨੂ, ਜ਼ਕਰੀਆ ਖਾਨ ਆਦਿ ਵਰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਸੇ ਰੰਘੜ ਅਤੇ ਅਹਿਮਦ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਬਦਾਲੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਪਵਿਤਰਤਾ ਭੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲੇ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਸਕਦੇ। ਕਈ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ''ਵਕਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਜ਼ਖਮ ਭਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲਾ 25 ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਹੁਣ ਲੋਕ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਏ ਹਨ।" ਕੁੱਝ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ-ਕਿਤਾਬ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਕੀ ਨਵੰਬਰ 84 ਦੇ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ, ਝੂਠੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਅਜ ਇਸ ਫੌਜੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਖਾਂਤ ਨੂੰ 25 ਸਾਲ ਬੀਤ ਚੁਕੇ ਹਨ। ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਘਟਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੀਡਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਉਤੇ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਦਿਲ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੱਦ ਤਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਣ 'ਤੇ ਮਰੋਚਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ, ਕੀ ਸਾਂਝੀਵਾਲਤਾ, ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੇ ਰੂਹਾਨੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਪਾਵਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਸੀ, ਕੀ ਇਸ ਪਾਵਨ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇਬੰਦੀ ਤੇ ਮੋਰਚਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਸੀ, ਕੀ ਪੰਥ-ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਖਣ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਥੋਂ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਤੇ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ? ਆਦਿ ਆਦਿ। ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀਜੀਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੰਥਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1'
