<b><u>US OPEN Tennisとは</u></b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">まず、US OPENとは何かといいますと、、、</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">グランドスラム大会というテニスの頂点の4つの大会のうち１つの大会にあたります。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">例年US OPENは8月の最終週から2週間開催されます。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">9月の2週目の月曜日はLabor Dayという祝日にあたり、3連休になりますので、混雑が予想されますので注意してください。</span><br />

<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">US OPENの会場まで</span></u></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">US OPENはニューヨークから電車で30分程度のところで開催されます。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">電車では7番に乗って行くと終点の１つ前のという駅で降ると、たくさんの人がスタジアム方面に向かっているのですぐわかります。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">グランドセントラルから1本なので、その周辺に宿泊すると便利です。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">大リーグのニューヨークメッツの球場とは反対側になります。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">車の駐車場もありますが、大変混雑しますし、24時間電車が動いていますので、電車をおすすめします。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">US OPENはグランドスラムの中でも特に大きい大会で、観客動員数も全スポーツの中でも最も多いとのことです。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">テニスの大会の良いところは、たくさんのコートで試合が行われていて、基本的に同じチケットでいろいろな選手を見にいけるところにあります。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">チケットの種類は、Arthur Ash Stadiumの指定席、Louis Arm Strongの指定席、Ground Admissionの3種類です。</span><br />

<u><b><span style="font-size: large;">Arthur Ash Stadium</span></b></u><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">注意が必要なのは、Arthue Ashは昼と夜にチケットが分かれています。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1週目は昼にもたくさん試合があり、有名選手が登場しますが、2週目以降は比較的夜にメインカードが組まれることが多い様です。しかし、夜の試合は基本的に19時からの2試合に限られることと、2試合目を最後まで見ていると午前様になることに注意が必要です。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">また、Arthur Ash Stadiumはとても大きいので、一番後ろの席では選手はかなり小さく、ほぼモニター観戦になってしまいます。臨場感を楽しみたい方はLouis Arm Strongやグランドスタンドなどのコートがおすすめです。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">もちろん、Arthur Ashのコートのチケットをもっていれば、すべてのコートに入場することができるので、とりあえず、センターコートの雰囲気を見て見たいという方はいいかもしれません。</span><br />

<u><b><span style="font-size: large;">Louis Arm Strong</span></b></u><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">2番目に大きいスタジアムです。縦のコートのみ指定席として販売されています。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">選手をかなり間近でみることができるため、人気かつ、高額です。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">私はこの席が一番好きで、１週目はセンターコートよりもこちらを予約します。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">2週目以降はダブルスなどが中心となるためにおすすめできません。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">また、横から見る席はどのチケットでも入場できます。人気のカードの場合は並ぶ必要がでたり、入れない場合もあるので注意が必要です。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">Ground Admission</span></u></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">一番安価なチケットで、Arthur AshとLouis Armstrongの予約席以外はすべて入場できます。</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1週目は、試合数も多くグランドスタンドや17番コートでもいいカードがたくさん組まれていますので、私は序盤はGround Admissionのチケットで選手を間近で見る方が楽しいです。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">1週目は、少しお金を出してLouis ArmStrongを予約するか、Ground Admissionでお金を節約する。2週目以降はArthur Ash Stadiumを予約するというのがおすすめの方法です！</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">毎年MGHの日本人研究者が集まりネットワーキングしています。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">今回は大人53名、子供16名という大盛況の会になりました。</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">ロングウッドに比べてMGH近辺はネットワーキングする機会が案外少ないので、貴重な機会になりました。</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">私の所属するDanaラボでは、毎週木曜日にラボミーティングがあり、2-3名のフェローが実験結果のアップデートや新しい実験の仮説を検証をするためのプレゼンテーションを行います。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">1名30-60分くらいの時間でラボのみんなでディスカッションしていきます。</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">その後、ラボを卒業するフェローがいると簡単な送別会を行います。</span><br />
