Welcome to Harvest Community Church, where our doors are open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.

If you’re new to Harvest or are considering joining us for a service, we hope you’ll find a place where you are warmly welcomed and feel at home, even if you’ve never been to church before. At our services, we present the ageless truths of the Bible in a compelling, easy-to-understand format.
Meet Pastor Keith

Greetings!

Did you know that you are an answer to prayer? In 1990, Jamie and I began praying for the people that God would call to be part of a new church on the Westside—a church dedicated to reaching out to people who were un-churched and needed to start a relationship with Jesus. We may not have known you by name then, but here you are!

You may just be thinking about attending HCC, or maybe you’ve just become part of our HCC family or have been with us since the beginning. No matter where you’re at in your spiritual journey, I want you to know that you are genuinely welcome at Harvest Community.

If you have yet to visit us, I encourage you to check out a weekend service. You’ll enjoy a safe, comfortable environment—no weird stuff! A weekend service is a great way to see what we’re all about at HCC. We’re just a community of real people growing and learning together about what it means to live lives of purpose and meaning as we pursue following God. I hope you’ll join us on the journey!

What good is another sermon on HOW to pray if no one is praying in the first place? How do we, then, motivate ourselves to pray, which is a central Christian discipline? The key to maintaining discipline is to maintain desire, and the key to maintaining desire is maintaining an motivating vision. Based on the story of Elijah in the desert (1 Kings 19), I discuss the characteristics of prayer, including:

REST for our souls
REGURGITATION of grievances
RENEWAL of our perspective
REFOCUSING of our plans for the future
RUNNING the race

At Harvest Community Church, we believe that small groups that meet weekly are the place where real spiritual life happens - not in a short Sunday service, but in an intimate home setting where we can develop authentic relationships with others who are on the spiritual journey with us.

Ministries and Ministry Leaders

Our main goal is to help people find their callings, and their place in God's work. One of those places can be serving in one of the ministries of the church. If you are interested in participating in any of the ministries below, please feel free to contact the ministry office at (209) 837-4828.

All STARS Children's Ministry – Becky Beam
Purpose: To Share Christ with the children of our community, Team them with other Christians and Advance them in their spiritual maturity, helping them to Recognize their spiritual gifts and Surrender their lives to God. We want to win kids to Christ and grow them spiritually. This ministry is broken down into three age groups:

Little League – Nursery ages 0 – 2 years.. This age is led by Sharon Farmer
Minor League – Ages 3 years – Kindergarten
Major League – Ages 1st – 5th Grade

Celebration Arts - Melodie Lewis
Purpose: To take the passion that God has place in our hearts and share it in such a way that others will desire a deeper worship relationship with God. We want people to see God's heart through our worship. He's already present; all we have to do is respond.

Greeting Team - Lance Perry
Purpose: To provide a smiling face, a warm handshake and a friendly greeting. To create a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests alike and provide a quick information reference for first time guests.

Grounds Maintenance - Matt Vargas
Purpose: To clean and make necessary repairs to facilities to ensure they always look their best for Sunday services and events that take place throughout the week.

Hospitality - Mary Baker
Purpose: To plan, organize and oversee food preparation and service for fellowship or people in need.

Media Ministry - Angie Murray
Purpose: To administer the computer software program to correspond with the worship songs and sermon notes.

Message Duplication - Neelia Perry
Purpose: To help people in their walk with the Lord by supplying copies of the weekly services when requested.

Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS) - Esme Sinclair
Purpose: To inspire, instruct, and encourage mothers of pre-school children with friendship, fellowship, and inspirational speakers.

Office Team – Becky Beam
Purpose: To assist Harvest staff with keeping the church body informed and caring for the congregation through cards, letters, bulletins, newsletters, flyers, etc.

Prayer Team - Kathleen Zalinski
Purpose: To pray continually and consistently for the needs of Harvest, its members and our community.

Production Team - Dennis Borrelli
Purpose: To support special projects and big events behind the scenes by setting up and breaking down.

Tech Team (Sound Crew) – Brian Becker
Purpose: To adjust and maintain the sound and lighting system to ensure clear and comfortable sound and lighting level within the church facilities.

Women's Ministry - Lori Burgess
Purpose: To plan and coordinate activities for the women of Harvest and their guests. Promote fellowship and spiritual growth and to address the special needs of women.

Youth Ministry – Andy & Becky Beam
Purpose: To impact students from 6th-12th grade by helping meet their relational, emotional, spiritual and physical needs. We want to assist them in becoming fully devoted followers of Christ.

Senior Pastor - Keith Hood
Keith Hood is the founding pastor of Harvest Community Church. Keith is an Author, Life Coach and speaker noted for his creative communication style. His teaching brings Scripture alive and invariably includes practical applications and humor. He has a passion for making the complex, simple as he speaks truth to people in ways they can understand and apply to their everyday lives. He has written two books, Perfect Reactions and Balance is a Circus Act.

Associate Pastor - Sarita Ledet
Sarita has been described as successful, analytical, results focused, intelligent, talented and compassionate. After an incredible thirty year career in government services, she retired to pursue her life passions. These days she enjoys living out God’s desires and purpose for her professional life!

Sarita is a licensed psychotherapist, ordained minister, speaker, college professor, success coach, writer, mom, grandmother, friend, sister, aunt and spiritual woman. She holds a graduate degree from the University of San Francisco in Counseling Psychology. Her undergraduate degrees are in public Administration and Administration of Justice. Additionally, she is pursuing a graduate degree in Theology at Oral Roberts University.

Associate Pastor - Rick Murray
Pastor Rick and his wife Angie began attending Harvest in February 2001 and were married here in February 2002. In February 2004 Rick began teaching from the pulpit, leading weekly small groups and several 4-6 week teaching campaigns. God has filled Rick's heart with an intense passion for preaching and teaching His word. Currently he is attending Newburgh Theological Seminary where he is pursuing a Master's Degree in Theology.

Associate Pastor - Dan Sinclair
Dan comes to us as an experienced lay person with 20 years of Christian life behind him. He has done missions work, led worship teams overseas and in the states, and helped pioneer small groups and contemporary worship in traditional churches. Dan brings his teaching and mentoring gifts to our team, and contributes his unique brand of deadpan humor.

Worship Pastor - Melodie Lewis
Melodie oversees all of our Celebration Arts Team and is to make sure that Sunday morning service flows together. She and her family came to Harvest’s first public service almost 20 years ago, and they are still proud to call Harvest their home. She has sat under the leadership of two wonderful past worship leaders and is coming up on starting her 8th year. She loves to write…anything really, but mostly songs. We sing many of her songs here at Harvest, but she never tells us which ones they are. She is grateful for everyone on her team, and enjoys watching them develop their gifts for God.

She has been married to Phil for 23 years and has 5 children: Shawnta (33), Desmond (30), Kristen (28), Sam (19), Charlie (17), and 1grandaughter, Mariah (13).

Children's Ministry Leader/Administrator - Becky Beam
Becky Beam serves as our Children's Pastor and Church Administrator. She has been at Harvest since it began in 1990 and serving on staff since 1992. It is here that she met her husband of sixteen years, Andy. They enjoy life with their two children, Alex, age 14 and Megan, age 12. Together they serve in the worship band and in Youth Ministry to our Junior and Senior High students.

Becky's passion is for children. It is through this vital ministry that we set the stage for our youngest church attendees. We are laying the foundation for our next leaders. What an awesome privilege and responsibility. We want it to be a great experience that keeps them looking forward to coming back. This couldn't be done alone. She has a great team of teachers and caregivers that make each classroom a fun, learning experience.
