Duties:

� Coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts.

Initiating the Project:

� Define and/or reviews the project statement of work.

� Develops and/or reviews an audience list, determines how much involvement is necessary from the stakeholders, SMEs and other team members.

� Determines and assesses need for additional staff and make the appropriate recruitments during the project cycle.

� Provides clarity on roles and responsibilities.

� Identifies risks, restrictions and constraints of the project and verbalizes assumptions.

� Develops a project strategy to mitigate risks.

� Researches on the organization's approach for similar projects.

� Conducts and presents a feasibility study/ cost-benefit analysis to the business stakeholders.

� Clearly defines project objectives.

� Sets goals and determines measures to track progress.

Planning:

� Develops and a project schedule.

� Estimates span times for all activities.

� Identifies all dates that must be met.

� Develops a schedule for regular project meetings and progress reports.

� Creates Gantt charts. Identifies skills and knowledge necessary to perform the project activities.

� Ensures that resources are available throughout the project.

� Develops a project budget.

� Consults with Strategic Sourcing to determine the costs of resources.

� Prepares a detailed budget estimate.

� Seeks approval for the budget estimate.

� Coordinates with Finance to set up charge codes.

� Monitors project activities to determine if budget revisions are necessary.

� Identifies risks and assesses the potential effect on the project.

� Develops and recommends plans to mitigate risks.

� Monitors status of risks throughout the project.

� Informs key audiences of these risks.

� Creates a well-organized team and selects and determines the team's operating practices and procedures.

Executing the Project:

� Accomplishes objectives within time and budget targets.

� Regularly monitors schedule performance against plans and handles problems that arise.

� Assesses project status by comparing actual activity/event dates to planned dates.

� Evaluates the hours budgeted for each member to spend on each activity.

� Compares the actual hours spent to the budgeted hours.

� Encourages team members to record the actual hours worked.

� Monitors, analyzes and documents financial expenditures and validates that they are in accordance with the project plan.

� Evaluates, recommends and possibly implements corrective actions when the performance deviates from the project plan.

Skills:

What you will get to do

Responsibilities

Lead the business systems analysis and quality assurance practices across the Bank. Manage the process of identifying opportunity areas that solve complex business problems and provide robust solutions aligned with business strategies. Build and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. Provide thought leadership across the areas of business systems analysis and quality assurance to promote continuous improvement.

Major Accountabilities

Mature the business systems analysis and quality assurance framework including competencies, policies, procedures, and techniques to improve overall system delivery across the Bank (on-time, on-budget, high quality), including:

Building a consistent business process and requirements framework.
Building effective functional design process.
Implementing industry best practice strategies across the Quality Assurance (QA) platform (test strategies, test plans, test cycle management, QA report metrics).
Manage the implementation of a repeatable business process decomposition and requirements gathering approach to reduce rework efforts in latter stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) projects.
Maintain current knowledge of industry best practice and quality assurance principles.
Lead the business and Information Systems (IS) teams in developing feasibility analysis and cost/ benefit studies of alternate solutions based upon business needs and requirements.
Assist in evaluating vendor-packaged solutions and make recommendations on vendor or custom solutions.
Collaborate with enterprise architecture and application development management to fully align the business systems analysis and quality assurance practices throughout the full project lifecycle.
Ensure process area supports overall IS design principles.
Manage the process of monitoring scope and requirements across project portfolio and applying remedial measures as necessary to meet cost and schedule commitments.
Research, develop, and implement an effective quality assurance approach.
Manage and provide oversight to the Test/QA Systems Environment.
Develop and manage knowledge repository for the business analysis and quality assurance group within the Bank.
Responsible for the development, retention, and evaluation of all direct reports.

Skills/Knowledge

Bachelor�s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education, required.
Seven to ten year�s progressively responsible experience in analysis and planning, systems development, testing and/or quality assurance.
Minimum of five years in a management or lead role.
Must have exposure to multiple business process areas or worked across multiple business units (broad experience).
Must have demonstrated experience in business process modeling and business process decomposition.
Capital markets and/or banking/financial services experience highly desired.
Demonstrated experience in both vendor-packaged system implementation and custom-developed solutions.
Must have prior demonstrated experience with multiple aspects of a Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or vendor-packaged methodology.
Experience with HP Quality Center and/or Test Environment management is highly desirable.
Exposure to managing off-shore Quality Assurance resources is desirable.
Must be able to interface and influence across all levels at the Bank and have the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve desired results.
