Reporting into the Head of IT this role will take responsibility for managing the day to day activities within the Network and Infrastructure team. This role will provide clear strategic direction and support to ensure the companies data, infrastructure and corporate MPLS network is stable, reliable, secure and accessible. This role will take ownership of all network, infrastructure and security related IT issues communicating at every level to ensure all areas of the IT team are aware of any issues and the agreed resolutions. This position will be part of the senior management team where you will work with the Head of IT and IT Director to ensure successful delivery against a defined IT strategy and long term roadmap. To be considered for this role candidates will be well educated and have a proven track record as a Network / Infrastructure Manager working for a complex, multi site organisation. Retail, hospitality or leisure experience would be highly advantageous. You will have a competent understanding of ITIL and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. Advanced windows skills including active directory design will be required aswell as experience with Cisco (or similar network design experience). Firewall and security experience will be needed (preferably utilising checkpoint solutions) aswell as datacentre management and third party vendor management abilities. The ability to manage challenging third parties will be essential. The most important experience we are looking for is around Networking IP skills, so things like improving, configuring and troubleshooting around Routers and Switches, Cisco, Firewalls etc.  Diagnostic skills are looked for also.

&lt;br /&gt;We are also looking for strong Linux experience (Red Hat) and administration skills. Back up skills are also extremely important - my client uses the Open Source tool Bacula, but any tools knowledge are important.

&lt;br /&gt;Internal monitoring experience is looked for also, my client uses Nagios. Automation &amp; Configuration Management experience is also looked for - if you have any experience of Puppet that is a bonus.

&lt;br /&gt;It would help if you had good scripting skills also in things like Bash scripting or Perl. SQL skills are also a plus. General knowledge/awareness of Cloud technologies is looked for i.e. Amazon.

&lt;br /&gt;-Own specific web development tasks and projects to enhance the main ecommerce application 
&lt;br /&gt;-Analyse and consult on technical business solutions for the main eCommerce application 
&lt;br /&gt;-Trouble-shooting and bug fixing 
&lt;br /&gt;-Managing upgrades and patches on the eCommerce platform 
&lt;br /&gt;-Analysing and researching eCommerce platform advancements

&lt;br /&gt;-Expert knowledge of PHP, MYSQL, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, XML and API integration 
&lt;br /&gt;-Good knowledge of Linux and Apache 
&lt;br /&gt;-Good knowledge of eCommerce application web development on an open source platform 
&lt;br /&gt;-Excellent knowledge of W3C web standards and browser compatibility issues 
&lt;br /&gt;-Understanding of HTML 5 and CSS 3 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Desirable but not essential 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;- Understanding of MVC architecture 
&lt;br /&gt;- Familiarity with the software development life cycle 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Experience 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;- At least four years' experience in a similar online role 
&lt;br /&gt;-Practical development experience in an eCommerce environment 
&lt;br /&gt;-Practical experience developing, maintaining, testing and launching online commercial business requirements on an eCommerce platform 
&lt;br /&gt;-Experienced in interfacing with internal customers, project managers and other developers 
&lt;br /&gt;-Experience of interpreting business requirements from documentation and verbal briefings; testing, trouble-shooting and bug fixing 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Person Specification: 
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;-Good written and spoken English and numeracy skills; 
&lt;br /&gt;-Passionate about web application development, eCommerce and an eagerness to learn more 
&lt;br /&gt;-Analytical and solution driven 
&lt;br /&gt;-Strong understanding of eCommerce usability and best practices 
&lt;br /&gt;-Ability to be pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve the business interest 
&lt;br /&gt;-Proven ability to meet critical deadlines 
&lt;br /&gt;
