Have you guys heard of this hip new band, called The Foo Fighters? Their sound is out of sight! It’s like a cross between spacesynth, dubstep and epic doom metal. I’ve been listening to the Foos for about 3 days now and so I figured it was finally time to make a comic about them. I love a good Foo so much that I snuck 21 of their song titles into the dialogue. I tried to keep it subtle.

Welcome the official 2013 HATEFARM WEBSITE, you guys! Have I told you lately how much I love and miss you? It was our 2 year anniversary on the 1st. And you guys are still here, despite our lack of updates, and for that we thank you so much. We want to reward you by not disappearing off the face of the earth. I’m pretty busy working on my studios first feature film, and Rob is getting busier with his own writing efforts. So we got to thinking — how could we possibly keep the funny coming and keep it fresh? Well, we called out to our readers through Facebook and Twitter to find THE THIRD HATEFARM WRITER! We got a bunch of submissions which we all sincerely thank you for. Competition was tough. In fact, we are pretty disappointed we can’t bring more of you to the team. Maybe in time, we might. But for now I present to you the third of us:

Next time we update, you will see Andrew’s fancy new Hatefarm avatar on the side bar, as well as his own creator page and his first HF comic. He’ll also be doing his own blogs so he can introduce himself however he wishes. So please everybody, give this man a round of applause, welcome him, and check out his hilarious webcomic, “I am Arg” if you haven’t already. It’s totes the goods.

Lastly I wanted to thank Lindsey for donating $60 and getting her likeness placed in today’s comic. I’ll be sure to add her to the Donation Hall of Fame when I get home. Thanks Lindsey, you and your colorful hair are awesome!

So last comic was meant to be read as if it was a music video. I said to you fine readers, if anyone out there made it into an actual song, I would grant them a wish. Sure enough, Ryan Aldrich and his band of musical misfits (Scott Hughes, T-Bone Therat, Elizabeth gail Tienhaara and Jay Noonan) turned it into an mp3 in no time. Now, I was fresh out of wishes, but I knew I could do the next best thing: turn it into a music video. I called out for some additional help on our facebook and twitter, and you guys sent in video clips of yourselves acting like jackasses. (Thank you so much, by the way, jackasses!) With all of our powers combined, the first Hatefarm music video was born. I’ll see you at the VMAs next year, folks. WATCH IT HERE:

Chevrolet and Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions (creators of the series “Cheers”) came to me asking if I could create them an unforgettable romance comic that cross-promoted both of their products. I was happy to oblige as I have been pretty stressed with crunch time at work and being sick and all sorts of crappy life things that aren’t awesome webcomics. Drawing fucked up shit is very therapeutic to me.

This comic is a bit of a ripoff homage to some of my favorite Tim and Eric bits. I first wrote the song thinking of their beloved “Sit on you” song and didn’t realize until I was well into drawing that it’s actually a lot more like their skit about a man that masturbates to a woman from across the street only to break into her house and have “consensual” (regretful?) sex. From there on I just kind of embraced the similarities and even gave our antagonist the same outfit and hair, sort of. Maybe Teddy Tounglin here will show up again some day and make some more awful life decisions. He’s a pretty adorable guy. Although I hope I don’t have to say that we here at Hatefarm do not endorse being a stalker of any kind. Teddy is a professional creep and you should not try this at home.

If somebody were to make this into an actual song I would be forced to grant them one wish.

I was happy to give this comic a touch more realism than usual to maximize creepiness. I’m sure Jordan was pretty happy too, if not downright disgusted, because she donated $60 to Hatefarm and wound up as our leading wrestling coach heroine. Let’s all give her a round of applause to Jordan for being so awesome! Fuck yeah, Jordan!

I wanted to show all of our donators a little bit of extra appreciation, so The Donation Hall of Fame happened. Now when you donate $60, you not only get to be featured as a random character in a comic, but you get your name on the Hall of Fame so everyone can appreciate that you put your money towards truly noble causes. Circle jerks for everybody.

We added Google+ underneath all the comics. One of the biggest things you can do to help us (other than donating) is spreading the word — FB liking the comic, tweeting it, google+ing it are all great ways to do this. There’s also a Google+ Hatefarm page now where you can follow our updates.

Another animated comic about Tumblr, how absolutely riveting! You’ve reached the pinnacle of the internet here folks, on a website called Hatefarm. Amen.

So like I’ve discussed before, I’m a huge fan of Tumblr. I don’t follow as many individual artists as I’d like to, but I follow a lot of great “collection” tumblrs that post art from all over. I spend a lot of time (usually late at night when I’m procrastinating on going to bed) scanning through this endless feed of creativity. (For the uninitiated, it could feasibly be limitless, as there is no clicking through pages, just scrolling) I got to thinking how fast I scroll through — and I sometimes feel as though it is a point of pride that I can scan, comprehend, appreciate and move on to the next image within milliseconds. Other times, I feel like that’s self-absorbed bullshit and I am not taking the time appreciate art the way it was meant to be appreciated. Who goes through an art gallery in a sprint besides my insane uncle Fiddledicks? When I look at art in person, I spend a good long time with it. But for some reason, whenever I look at anything on the masturbation box, it’s a race to take as much of it in as possible. (That’s what she said.)

Really though, I just wanted to make another Tumblr comic so that you can all share it on Tumblr and make it viral as fuck. Go on, we’re waiting.

You heard it here first, folks! CG animation, a medium that has somehow put another, more traditional medium through a mass genocide, is done almost entirely by computers and backed by fancy-pants executives with little concern for their employees well being or creative expression! Am I being sarcastic? WELL AM I!? The world may never know.

Truly, though. I love my job. Being a CG animator these days is not without its issues but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Except maybe more forgiving production cycles. Or a chance to animate something other than talking birds and bears. (To understand my obsession with animated bears, see my senior thesis short film: The Animator and the Seat.)

Speaking of talking birds, you should be looking forward to my studio’s first movie about talking birds! It’s called Turkeys and it’s a time traveling buddy comedy starring Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson. (I’m totally serious.)

Listen guys, we all had a good laugh pretending like we don’t want to see another talking animal movie, but now let’s get back to what’s really on our minds — how badly we want to see Turkeys. It’s going to be totally wicked-awesome, or at the very least, extremely tolerable! I’m honored to be working with an extremely fine crew as an animation lead on a character that hasn’t been announced yet. It’s set for a 2014 release and since I’m devoting a lot of my time to it, I’m sure you’ll be hearing more soon.

In other news, I updated the Merry Melony Blog with some new concept art, so that’s cool.

Oh, we joined Project Wonderful for our advertising. So do our wonderful advertisers a favor and check out their websites. And if you’re on PW yourself, show those crappy advertisers whose boss by outbidding them and featuring your delicious ad on Hatefarm.

Not to reveal too much of our highly intricate process, but this is yet another of our collaborations that started with me bringing Eric an idea and the two of us riffing on it via IM for a few minutes before deciding “okay, yeah, this could be a comic.” However, I spent years of extensive research on the subject of masturbating, and Eric interned one summer as a sock. So when you think we make it look easy, know that it’s only because it is. We brought you this basket of low-hanging fruit, and we expect to see you eat it all.

And now, some important blathering: the Mistress Missy fanart contest is still underway (rules and details at here)! Speaking of contests, Simon sent in his failure-of-an-entry for last months contest extremely late. Actually, it’s not that bad, and at least he tried, unlike most of you.

[SUPER BONUS ROB BLOG POST WEEOO WEEOO]

Good morneveternoon, internet. Can you believe it’s been 50 already? That feels like a weird amount. At first I thought it was too high, but now I feel like it’s lower than expected. We’ve both been busy little honeybees lately, but I am really, really hoping I can reveal a little about my pet project soon. I’ve got a good buddy of mine helping me with character design and if all goes well, the next few months I may have some sketches to show off to give a hint of what’s to come from the most insane story I’ve ever written.

In the meantime, I will continue juggling my busy schedule of working my real job and trying to let video games devour my soul. I picked up Borderlands 2 and have already been making my poor baby x-box sweat over hours of leveling and loot-snatching. I’ve also been engaged in an ordinate amount of time with Champions Online Free-For-All, which has consumed me to the point of making a Hatefarm likeness of myself to run around with. If any of you guys play, I’d gladly thrash villains with you sometime, drop me an e-mail or just leave your username in the comments. It’s free, of course, making it the absolute cheapest way to (sort of) hang out with me.

That’s all I got. That image in the last paragraph took me like six hours to edit together. Worth it? Only the last of my sanity knows for sure.
