	&lt;strong&gt;&lt;u&gt;General Description&lt;/u&gt;: &lt;/strong&gt;The Environmental Specialist will be assigned to the Hatfield Consultants Mekong office in Vientiane, Lao PDR and will be responsible for managing and implementing a variety of environmental projects.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
	&lt;strong&gt;&lt;u&gt;Duties and Responsibilities: &lt;/u&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Manage a team of environmental specialists and technicians responsible for conducting environmental projects in the Mekong Region, and in other areas of South-East Asia.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		International travel, including work in remote locations, is required in support of ongoing project design requirements.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
	&lt;strong&gt;&lt;u&gt;Competencies&lt;/u&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Demonstrated technical competency in a specific environmental discipline.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Demonstrated technical reporting and project management skills (including designing projects, defining project goals and objectives, planning and scheduling of project tasks, project management).&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Research and analytical skills (data collection, compilation and analysis).&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Excellent communication skills (verbal and written &amp;ndash; including technical or scientific writing).&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Experience developing partnerships/networks with international organizations, national executing agencies, private sector natural resource developers and other stakeholders.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
	&lt;strong&gt;&lt;u&gt;Education and Experience&lt;/u&gt;:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		B.Sc. or higher degree in environmental sciences or engineering, with more than 5 years experience managing environmental aspects of international projects.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Experience working in large, multi-disciplinary teams is essential.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Experience with a range of environmental disciplines (e.g., fisheries, hydrology, surface and ground water quality, chemical contamination, forestry, wildlife, biodiversity, soils, socio-economics, archaeology, etc.). Experience working with major international development agencies or natural resource development companies is a definite asset.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Good command of the English language, both verbally and written, is essential.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;
		Experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork.&lt;/li&gt;
