So you’ve got a great blog with great content — only no one knows it yet. Not a problem, because getting visitors to great content is one of the easiest things you’ll ever do. Here’s how to get visitors to your blog.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR NETWORK

If you’ve been actively getting out and meeting your neighbors, you’ve built up a pretty good network of blogging and website-owning friends. Drop them an email to let them know about your new blog and ask them if they’ll let their readers know about it, too. (And don’t forget to give it a little link love on any sites that you control, too!)

GUEST BLOG

If you’re an active blog reader (and if you’re a blog writer, you ought to also be a blog reader), you’ve probably seen guest bloggers on several of the blogs that you read. Well, scoring just one post on a popular blog can give your own blog a great jumpstart. It’s one of the best ways to get visitors to your blog. COMMENT ON OTHER BLOGS

Commenting on other blogs is a great way to get noticed, both by the blogger and by people reading the comments. You’ll get a special benefit from those who maintain a Top Commentators list, too. Make sure your comments add value to the discussion, though. Nobody likes to wade through a lot of “That’s right!” or “I agree” comments. (The strategy could backfire in a huge way if you try to get visitors to your blog by spamming other blogs.)

Also, the sooner you comment on a post that later becomes very popular, the more visibility (and clickthroughs) you’ll end up getting. You’ll probably develop an eye pretty quickly for which posts are going to end up being really popular.

GIVE OUT THE LINK LOVE

In every post you write, be sure to give out as much link love as possible. Most avid bloggers watch their sites like a hawk and will notice right away if someone has linked to them, quite often leading to a beautiful friendship. Create posts specifically to review, expound, critique or disagree with things other bloggers have written (always respectfully so), and be aware of other opportunities to link out in every post you write. Don’t get so hung up on getting visitors to your blog that you try to get them from going anywhere else once they find you.

PROMOTE YOUR BLOG’S URL

Keep an eye out for different ways to make people aware of your blog’s URL. The most obvious way is to be active in forums and include your blog in your signature, but you can also include it on letterhead, in your email signature, and lots of other places. Be creative.

BLOG CARNIVALS

Blog carnivals are great for driving traffic to your blog. Participants in each Change of Shift, for example, all see a significant burst of traffic to their blogs in the days after each edition. Check out Blog Carnival for a huge list of carnivals on all sorts of topics.

And to really give your traffic a boost, actually host a blog carnival. A word of warning, though: for some carnivals, hosting can be a ton of work. Make sure you don’t take on more than you can handle. Talk to some of the previous hosts to get an idea of how much time it took them, and make sure you participate several times to get a feel for the carnival itself.

BLOG LIVE

If you have an opportunity to go to an interesting conference or other gathering that others can’t get to, blog live from there and include plenty of pictures. How to boost your traffic and website's popularity with extrainbound links

How To Get One Way Links
A one way link is a link that points to your website without the need for you to point back
to the other site.
The search engines generally view one way links as being more valuable than reciprocal
links. The main reason for this is that they tend to be harder to get. So in the eyes of the
search engines, harder to get means more valuable. Simple, huh?
There are a number of different ways to get one way links. Most of them involve some
time and effort on your part but it is possible to delegate this kind of task to other people,
using sites like Rentacoder once you start getting some money in.
Articles are an excellent way to get one way links. You submit an article to a site like
EzineArticles and make sure that your author's bio link at the end of the article has a link
back to your website. You have control over the keywords used in the link, so you can
vary them from article to article. You also have control over which page is hyperlinked,
so you can vary that from article to article as well. Articles submitted to EzineArticles are
checked by a human editor, so they need to be reasonably good quality and 100%
original. Don't worry – you're not subjected to the same kind of rigorous standards that
you would be by your English teacher. A chatty article is fine.
If you're not a very good writer, you have two choices. You can follow the instructions in
books such as Write Like A Maniac, which talk you through the process. By the time
you've finished that short, chatty, book you should be churning out good quality items in
next to no time. Alternatively, you can outsource your articles to people all over the
world at sites like Rentacoder. Standards vary, so you have to carry out your due
diligence by checking the potential writer's feedback and some sample articles. Once
you've done that, you should be able to get reasonable quality articles written on near
enough any topic imaginable for a handful of dollars apiece.
Pace out your article submissions. Set yourself a timetable and do your best to stick to it.
A regular pace of one article a month is better in the long term than a flurry of half a
dozen articles then nothing.
Whilst EzineArticles is currently the best article directory, you should also consider
submitting your articles to other directories as well. You can do this yourself, which is
very time consuming. Or you can use an article submission software program, something
I've personally not had much success with. Or you can do as I do and use an article
submission service that costs very little and sends out your article to almost all the article
directories (with the notable exception of EzineArticles). My preferred service is iSnare.
They've been going a long time, don’t cost very much and do the job. At the time of
writing, their charges are between $1 and $2 per article that you send out.
The next way you can look for one way links is through the myriad of small directories
that exist on the internet. There are services out there who do this for you but the problem
I've found is that they don't vary the anchor text that is submitted, so the links will be
very "samey". Which the search engines don't like. The other snag that's often mentioned
is that all the links are submitted in a very short time period. Search engines don't like a
sudden burst of new links. In my view, this isn't too much of a problem as each directory
takes its own time to include you, so the links will appear over a period of days, weeks or
even months.
A better alternative in my view is to submit to these directories yourself. I use a piece of
software that semi-automates the link directory submission. It keeps track of which
directories are accepting additions. It also keeps your standard text and completes most of
the forms for you, which is a great time saver. On top of that, it keeps tabs on which
directories you've submitted to, so you can spend a few minutes or hours at a time and
not worry about losing your place. Plus it sorts the directories by page rank, so you can
tackle the ones that are likely to give you the best search engine boost first. Check out the
demo version they offer before deciding whether or not the software is for you. Longer
term, you can always outsource something like this.
Moving up a notch in your one way link quest, it's time to investigate other services that
will provide you with one way links for little or no effort.
There is a monthly subscription service called 3Way Links that gets over the reciprocal
link problem. It uses clusters of sites and clever software that allows them to link to each
other in a roundabout way. Site A links to Site B links to Site C which in turn links back
to Site A. This is reciprocal linking that is more difficult for a search engine to figure out,
as each link looks like a one way link. The other clever part of the 3 way link software is
that it varies the anchor text of the links. If you remember, the search engines don't like
all the anchor text pointing to a site to be identical. 3 Way Links takes care of that for you
by using different anchor text in varying proportions. It also takes care of the problem of
lots of new links appearing instantly by spreading out the new links to your site over a
period of time.
If you want to use software but want greater control than 3Way Links provides, then the
other program you should consider is SEO Elite. I've never personally taken the time to
get to grips with it but a friend who did so got some spectacular results very fast whilst
only using a fraction of the program's functions. SEO Elite has another advantage over
3Way Links. It's a one-off purchase rather than an ongoing monthly subscription.
Another advantage is that, because everything is under your control, SEO Elite will allow
you to control which pages are linked to. Which means that if you took the time and
effort, every single link could have different anchor text and point to a different URL.
That's probably overkill, but you could certainly vary the text and the URLs a lot more
with this software than you could with 3Way Links. In the eyes of the search engines, this
variation is a very natural way for links to occur, so your newly found links will likely
have more "weight" with the search engine's algorithms.
Blog comments are another way that you can get quality one way inbound links. As you

Twitter Account: select the twitter account (but this need to be set first in profile setting menu)
Bit.ly Account: select the Bit.ly Account (but this need to be set first in profile setting menu)
Divert attention to the top and click Click here to generate a preview to view the feed you just entered.
If it been as your desired, click Save
Done

The next time you update your blog (new post), it will be automatically posted on your facebook wall by RSS application Graffiti. This method is as an effective way to promote your blog to your facebook friends without having to spend a lot of energy.

In Blogger Template Designer, you can change the template layout easily. Various layouts have been provided and been able to choose. Just by clicks, you can change the layout of your blogs’s template.

What can you do with Layout menu in Template Designer? You can choose the two-columns layout, three-columns layout and so on, left-sidebar layout, right-sidebar layout, add footer, rearrange the width, and more.

Below is How To Change Layout With Blogger Template Designer:

Login to blogger with your ID.
Click Design.
Click Template Designer.
Click Layout (see on the left).
At Body Layout, you can choose the desired layout (left sidebar, right sidebar, three columns, etc).
Now switch to Footer Layout, and then choose the footer layout you like most (one-coulmn footer, two columns footer, and three columns footer).
Switch to Adjust Width, and then you can change the width of layout body and sidebar by moving the slider or enter the value of the width.
If all is ready, click APPLY TO BLOG (see on the right-top).

One common question that everybody asks is what's the difference between a blog and a website ?

...A blog (or a "Web log") is nothing but a Web site, usually maintained by an individual, focused on a single theme or a bunch of categories, descriptions of events or reviews of gadgets, products or even other blogs and websites. Posts/articles are usually displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb which means to maintain or add content to a blog.

If you too want to enter the Internet's huge Blogosphere, then you can easily start it without spending a single penny, by registering yourself for free at Blogger.Com.
For those of you who do not know about Blogger - it's a website which provides blogging platform and has been bought by Google a few years back. So if you have a Google account {a gmail account}, then you can use the same log in ID and password to enter in to Blogger.

So once you enter (and select a Display name), you will be asked to create the blog. Select any name (eg. ABCD), and you will get a blog like this:
www.ABCD.blogspot.com
And moreover, just like email ID's there's no limit to the number of blogs you can make, provided the blog names are available.
This is exactly like choosing an email ID, you cannot select any blog name, which is already existing. But do not worry, you can change this [Blog Name] whenever you want, if the new name has not been already taken (that means you can shift from ABCD to DEFG.blogspot.com, provided DEFG has not been taken already).

After selecting the name, you have to select the template for the blog, the default templates given by Blogger are really boring, so do not waste time there, select anyone, as you can change and add a much better template afterwards !

Now you will be asked to post your first article, it's your wish to whether do it now or you may do it after taking a small coffee break, you can also save an incomplete post as a draft if you want to publish it later.

Scheduling a post is easy to do: on the post editor page, click the “Post Options” toggle to show the “Post date and time” fields. Then, type a post date and time that’s in the future. When you click the “Publish” button, your post will become “scheduled.” When the date and time of the post arrive, it will be automatically published to your blog.

Everything cannot be perfect, there is a catch

Once you publish the post, you cannot reschedule the published posts. They would appear on your blog with future date and at top of all the posts. If you want to schedule a post, be very sure that you never ever publish it even by mistake. As blogger says -

If you want to give a post a date in the future but have it appear on your blog now, you’ll need to add in an extra step. First, publish your post with the current date and time. This will make it appear on your blog. Then, edit the post to change the date into the future and publish it again.

Why someone every would like to do it unless he wants to keep a post almost always on top of all the post like a sticky. Better add a “sticky” post feature, right! I might like to have my post in past show like a sticky at the top of the blog, rather than giving it a future date and appear as sticky.

I really like to know your opinion on this, what would you prefer a sticky like post that is with future date or actual sticky feature implementation.

There are several ways to interact with your readers. The comments section for each post is one way for your readers to interact with you. If you need to find your readers' response on a particular issue, then you could use a blogger widgets poll.

blogger widgets For example, you want to find out whether your readers like your template. Then, you can include a poll on your blog with a question "How would you rate my template?". You might want to give your readers choices like "Very Good, Good, Average, Poor, Very Poor". You will get some useful information for you to take a decision.

blogger google has a standard Poll widget included as a Page element. It is quite easy and intuitive to install this widget. I won't call this a Blogger Hack. This post is mainly intended for new bloggers coming on to the Blogger platform. If you are already familiar with installing page elements, you may not find anything useful. You could go on to read my posts on related posts blogger widgets, recent posts widget or recent comments widget.

Click on the “Layout” link just below your blog name. This will take you to the “Page Elements” tab.

Click on the “Add a Page Element” link at the section where you want to include the poll question. You can include it in the sidebar or just below the post.

In the Page Elements pop-up window, you will find the page element “Poll” on top of the window.

Click the “Add to Blog” button. This will open the "Create a Poll" window for you.

Type in the question for your readers. Add the choices, one of which your readers will choose as answer. You could add more options by clicking on "Add another answer" or remove some options by clicking on "remove".

By default, your reader can choose only one answer. If you want to allow your reader to choose multiple answers, then click the check box "Allow visitors to select multiple answers"

You could set the closing date of the poll; the default is one week.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Are we going to optimize the search engine then? No, we are actually going to optimize our blog or website to gain some traffic from search engines. You can achieve Search Engine Optimization by improving internally (on-site) and externally (off-site) in order to increase the traffic from search engines.

What is a search engine?

A search engine is basically a tool or program designed to search for information on the internet. Examples of search engines include Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVista, Excite and so on. Each search engine has a proprietary algorithm that is used to extract relevant information from web based on several factors. Google is widely recognized as the biggest search engine currently.

It is one of the hot, new twitter applications that allows people to create customized search term feeds and track those terms in real time. Users can generate feeds based on exact phrases, either or phrases, based on specific dates, sent to or from specific people, or many other options. e blogger Tweetfeed is also a “Share This” enabled service. This enables users to use custom CSS presentations and web analytics.
So, how can Tweetfeed benefit you and your blog? The primary use for Tweetfeed right now is for tracking terms used in Twitter like a person’s or product’s name. This makes it very easy for you to keep up with your online reputation and that of the products you might be promoting on your e blogger blog.
