Someone requested this skit a while back. Probably one of my favorites sketches of all time, and I didn't really see it until I bought the DVDs. Just goes to show what a horrible job Comedy Central and CBC do with this show.

Does anyone nail white trash and losers better than the Kids in the Hall I ask ya? I think Scott's played this character a few times and Bruce's character just seems to be a variation of Bobby and White Trash Man. I guess a common theme in many sketches is that losers who wear trucker hats are fun to laugh at.

I just picked up season 5 today, so I'm gonna post Feelyat because it's such an oft requested sketch.

This is some typical Bruce, I think someone requested this skit a few weeks back. You've probably seen it on Comedy Central a bunch of times, but I wanted to post it anyway so enjoy...

I'm considering posting some non-Kids stuff like Beavis and Butthead, Chappelle's Show*, the Ben Still Show, etc. Let me know what you guys think in the comments.

Bobby and the Devil

Here's a little seen skit from season 2 featuring Bruce hilariously playing everyone's favorite teenaged loser - Bobby, who when he's not busy eating his Mom's ham or writing songs about his brain being on fire, heroicly defends mankind by getting caught in guitar duels with the Devil.

Bobby and his trucking company owning father only really showed up in the second season, and in some very classic sketches. I'm not sure which disfunctional family I enjoy more - Bruce and Scott's Fran and Gordon, or Bobby's slightly more despondent clan.

Here's some footage from the Rivoli Theatre. This is an earlier version of a sketch that was later aired in season 4. Whats funny is Mark and Kevin swapped characters for the aired version. Okay, maybe that's not really that funny.

I actually think this one is funnier because of a few extra lines that Bruce throws in near the end. Also, it's cool to see that even at such an early stage, they really had it.

Wow, lots of requests, but this one stuck out. Well, for one, I know the dude who asked for it. Also, if you don't own the DVD or weren't watching back in '89, chances are you haven't seen the uncensored version of this one. I think I've seen it on Comedy Central, but I don't really remember how they handled it. So here's 'Buddy Holly' in all it's profane glory.

Alright, I think sketches like this one are a litmust test for whether or not you're down with the Kids in the Hall's absurdist sense of humor. This is definitely not something you'd see on the likes of Saturday Night Live or Mad TV, but for people who are into the Kids, these type of bizarro sketches are old hat.

I always gotta mention, this is being posted because someone requested it so if you have a request, let me know.

Yeah, I know it's been available through the official website for quite sometime, but who wants to pay $60 when you can get it for $29 at Best Buy.

Anyway, in celebration of me finally getting this set and being able to watch 'Chalet 2000' over and over again, I decided to post the first sketch from the season and the introduction, because this is my favorite of the Kids' intros.

Here's more proof that Mark McKinney is in fact funny and Bruce McCulloch knows white trash like the back of his hand. This is the first sketch I'm posting from season 3, which up to that point was probably their best season yet. The introduction of Mark's cabbie character pretty much ensured that.

Also, this one is being posted specifically because somebody requested it, so if you have any requests, let me know in the comments section and I'll try to post it if it's out on DVD already.

Here's another Kids sketch, this time from season 1. To me, sketches like this one are the reason to go out and put down the cash for these DVDs because I don't ever remember seeing this on Comedy Central or CBC. I guess they thought it wasn't funny enough for the Jon Stewart or 'This Hour has 22 Minutes' loving public. And I'm pretty sure that Comedy Central only has 5 episodes of this show that they decide to show on a whim once every 5 months at 2:30 AM on a Tuesday morning. CBC, I don't know when the last time they aired an episode was.

Anyway, this is one of Bruce's first films. He supposedly saw this car outside of his house and left a note on it asking if he could use it for his TV show because of it's trashy hilarity. Who hasn't seen a car like this or some ridiculous monster truck out on the road and not laughed at the car and the very predictable looking drivers?

Welcome to 'Having an Average Weekend' - my video blog. I'll basically be posting videos on youtube and providing links through blogger. Yeah, I guess it's pretty pointless to have this blog then, but I figured I gotta enter the 'blog-o-sphere' somehow. Judging by the title of my blog (it's the name of the Kids' theme song), you're probably thinking that they'll mostly be KITH sketches. You're probably right.

Anyway, this sketch is from season 2. It's a Darrill sketch. Darrill is a 30ish mamma's boy played by Mark McKinney. He can't get any women and is stuck in a dead end waiter job and sometimes has his own painting show on public access. Let me tell you, there's a rumor floating around out there that Mark McKinney is the least funny of the Kids, but after watching this it should be clear as day that that's not true. Underrated is what I'd call it. Another bonus about this sketch - it's got Scott Thompson playing one his usual drooling, creepy old men.
