LEAP INTO ACTION!! OCCUPY HELCO - Occupy the Corporations! Let them know we want our power back!

http://www.shutdownthecorporations.org/ hilo@shutdownthecorporations.org

WED 2/29 Occupy Hilo stands in solidarity with over 70 cities that have answered Occupy Portland's F29 Shut Down the Corporation call to action. Join us in front of the HELCO office (across from Hilo Shopping Ctr) from 4:00-5:30pm with your drums, friends, family, artwork, and POWER related signs, or borrow one of ours and stand with us in peaceful protest. If you cannot attend the sign waving, please consider powering down your household for the day starting at 4pm, and vote with your dollar. HELCO continues to raise our rates to guarantee their shareholders' profit, and YOU pay the price. Please join us in a peaceful day of protest to let HELCO, MECO, HECO, and it's parent company HEI know that greedy corporatism has no place in Hawaii. Co-sponsored by Malu Aina and Pele Defense Fund.

Yes I was a social worker and I knew about these programs. Maybe a few people will actually put this to good use and look for work. In the Philly area where I worked a lot of poor people used pagers and cell phones, for drug deals and other illegal activity. Women on welfare being picked up by a guy in a BMW, yeah sure, made me mad. What the government has failed to do is transition long term welfare clients from welfare to work. The short term people are another story especially in these times. Politics always interferes with what really needs done, to much help to the wrong people, and not enough help to the deserving.

Thank you Thomas. So well done and so badly needed. Roger is a true American hero and a visionary renaissance thinker. The forces of ignorance, corruption and control can only continue their perverted existence as long as Roger remains in prison.

Cannabis is both unique and essential, therefore far beyond the rightful jurisdiction of any court. "Essential civilian demand" as specified in CFR44 and E.O. 12919 are the most direct way of ending Cannabis prohibition.

Roger's case presents the opportunity to achieve the end of marijuana prohibition at the federal level. EVERYONE who loves freedom must realize the enormous threat of Roger's illegal imprisonment. Everything we cherish may be at stake.

It is far beyond 'marijuana' as the ecological importance of hemp is being fully understood. Hawaii is getting cooked by UV-B at twice the intensity of the mainland. Cannabis produces "monoterpenes" that reflects UV-B.

This is a common-sense move toward greater freedom for the people of Hawaii, away from the top-down statism exemplified by the senseless federal war on cannabis and other drugs.

Let's do more to roll back government control of our bodies and our lives by voting libertarian and supporting Ron Paul for president! www.RonPaul2012.org

I do not understand this Country's prejudice to laws they do not personally like.
That fact; "we, the people" voters power, voters rights voted into 'real life' actual LAW
1)
to allow for human beings to be able to administer medical cannabis to their real live bodies to help them through their personal disability/sickness(s),
2)
to give them SAFE ACCESS to their medical cannabis,
3)
all without penalizing them for it.

With all due respect to the Committee ; What - is so hard to understand about that?
Medical cannabis use has been LAW in Hawaii for many years already.

...So, why do they need a five year pilot program?
The People of Hawaii did not vote in a five year pilot program. Why doesn't the Committee just do what the people that voted them in wanted them to do in the first place?!? It is legally allowed. why should there need to be any supervision necessary, short of normal pharmacy disbursement protocol.

A question…does none of the same voters that voted medical cannabis in, live on Hawaii today?? Maybe its Hawaii has never had anyone run for office with part of their agenda being a MMJ platform, that those same mmj voters could vote for...
But Wait! Hawaii's new governor Abacrombie, in one of his campaign statements, he said he wants to assure medical cannabis patients will have safe access to their medicine.
BTW, for those Committee members whom want more time and/or pilot program please don't forget the true definition of…access pertaining to MMJ patients = retrieve, obtain, ingress, right of entry. When one reads those words, they probably don't think of words like; "more review, pilot program, delay , etc.". Remember it is already written into Hawaiian Law. Votes are powerful.

And why waste tax payers money on law enforcement having to be so bothersome on the patients? They are sick, imagine having at minimum, a high fever but chronically every day and night, non-stop for ever. and stress is not good for healing either.
Have patients not been persecuted enough (it has been in the news for years). can they not suffer in their ills with a little dignity? That they have to be scrutinized as criminal -Esc just because some Committee members do not want to terms with complying with laws voted in precisely because the people saw the need for these changes. Are Committee members acting compassionately that want to tax sick patients 30% too. As if sick people ever have extra money to spend.
Cannabis medicine outlets owners camera surveillance is enough to scare off any possible non compliance problems as well. Burglary too. Not many crook will try to steal from a business with more cameras than a bank.
All that law enforcement will be is a nuisance. After all, they publicly stated they are against allowing legal medical cannabis patients lawful access and use of their medicine. What more evidence does one need to see they do not fit what ill-morals your committee's actions are trying to suggest fixing. Besides isn't it a little 'gray' to use tax payers money to fund a (harassment) patrol on legal patients and caregivers from the same tax payers that voted legal medical cannabis into law?
Let us not forget, direct and indirect forcing of personal dogma onto a group of citizens is bullying, to put it mildly.

Progress never stops moving forward. Markedly, these are the days of the changing of the guards. And, though sad to say, it is a shame that Politicians cannot see and act upon and for the true will of the Peoples of Hawaii. Medical cannabis was voted into law. A real law. It's the same kind of law that says you won't break your sworn oath to the voters that afforded you into office.

May I ask the Hawaiian politicians, do you truly know who your constituents are?
Political thought/choice: With more States voters approving medical cannabis use in the same voting year your margin of winning (your seat) may be decreasing, see your newer constituents on the horizon. It may be politically wise to re-kindle your agenda to a growing demographic mass force of the voting populous. The same voters + + that voted legal medical cannabis into the Great State of Hawaii.

Thank you for your insight.
