You may remember Karen and Nate from their engagement session here and here. They had so much fun with their session they decided to do another one with Nate’s daughter Lizzie. They wanted to do something different from their vintage styled engagement session and do bright colors with a more relaxed atmosphere. They chose Hannah park for it’s variety of landscapes. We started at the beach and then ended at the lake just before sunset. We always have a good time with these guys and can’t wait for their wedding this fall!

When we arrived at Vilano Beach we didn’t have much time left before we lost the light so we went to work! We love the rocks and the soft light in these photos as well as some fun props. I found an enamelware mailbox at an antique store which went perfectly with reproduction royal mail envelopes. Once Mike is deployed I’m sure they will be corresponding often. We also threw in a mini book about “sweet nothings,” a red lantern and a metal sailboat as a subtle reference to their backgrounds in the Navy.

Katie contacted us wanting to schedule an engagement session as soon as possible because her fiance Mike, was getting ready to go off to training and eventual deployment for the US Navy. They are getting married in 2012 in Pennsylvania and we are so happy they chose us for their session. We used light props this time due to the time constraints and used a bit of a travel or “Bon Voyage” theme. They knew they wanted to do the session in St. Augustine because  they shared a really nice day there once when they were dating. We started out at Flagler college to avoid the evening rush on St. George Street. There are so many great spots at Flagler College, we could have shot for several hours. We then headed to Vilano Beach for some sunset shots. Those are coming up next in part II!

Heather and Josh had a beautiful wedding at the River House in St. Augustine. I started off the day with the girls at the Westcott House Bed and Breakfast while Andy hung out with the guys in the limo, beach, and pub. Their vibrant colors of royal blue and yellow went perfectly with the sunny spring day. Heather chose a beautiful Modern Trousseau gown from White Magnolia and a pair of blue Manolo Blahniks (a gift from her Aunt who shares her love of shoes.) After the reveal, we headed to the fort for some bridal party photos. The ceremony took place on the back lawn of the River House overlooking the water and provided a beautiful view of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. Lastly, the boys of D’Land Entertainment kept the party going with their fun antics. It was a great day!

Hello all! we have some exciting news . . . Originally we had planned on using two bikes and having them ride side by side for some shots. However, the evening before Jon discovered his bike had a wheel issue and couldn’t be used. Then the morning of the shoot, Jessica’s Bike had a flat. Alas, the side by side ride was not to be had. We made the most of the one bike we had though and had some fun using the handlebars as a 2nd seat. Throw in some chalk board love notes and some colorful Atlantic beach sidewalk and you still get a sweet engagement session. We are excited to shoot Jessica and Jon’s wedding at Christ Church and TPC Sawgrass later this year.

Jessica and Jon love to play at the beach whether it be tossing a frisbee, enjoying a nice sunny day together, or hanging out with friends. They are super laid back so we thought a chill session at the beach would be the perfect start to their engagement session. We found a vintage cooler, some Izze sodas, and a book or two to complete their easy going beach theme. As promised from our “just teasing” post, we have TONS of photos for you to feast your eyes upon in this fun family photo shoot. I also got to play stylist and styled the whole photo shoot from concept and locations to clothing and props, I even took a stab at hair/makeup (see the end of the post for my resources.) It was a lot of work but it paid off! We wanted to go for a preppy beachy spring look but not actually shoot it at the beach since we shot last years session at the beach. The Castillo De San Marcos in St. Augustine was the perfect spot for a cool textured background and soft lighting. We set up a little table for the kiddos to play at and they took to it right away. Little Preston carried his cup everywhere! Next we used a bunch of fun props like a vintage ice cream parlor chair, paper mache’ L-O-V-E letters, blue and pink balloons, rock candy lollipops, and the letter “M” for Morgan of course. Big Sis Hailey Jo has a huge sweet tooth so we took a stop by the candy store where she eyed a big Swirly Pop. Lastly, we finished up with photos walking down parts of St. George street. There were just way too many good photos so this is a long post. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back and devour every image!
