Call for Volunteers for 10/26 Halloween Dance

Friday, October 26th will be our Halloween Dance. Last year's was a terrific success, thanks in part to our great volunteers!

At the event, each grade level will have a booth and we need volunteers to sign up for quick, one hour shifts.

One of our Haynes parents, Julie Kertes, has set up an easy way to sign up - through the Sign Up Genius site. Just visit the site, select the grade level and time in which you'd like to volunteer. It's that easy. Thanks in advance for helping to make this event a success. See you there!

Hallow-Grams On Sale Now through Oct 30th. They are 50 cents and on sale at the lunch tables during lunchtime and afterschool.

They will be delivered to the class rooms on October 31st.

All you have to do is this - each time you shop at Amazon, stop at our homepage first haynescharter.com, click on the Amazon banner, then shop as usual. A portion of your purchases will be donated to our school by Amazon. It doesn't affect the prices you pay and you don't have to do any extra steps at Amazon's site. We encourage you to ask friends and family to do the same!

Washington, D.C. Inauguration Trip Update

It is not too late to sign up for the trip to Washington, DC. The trip dates are Jan. 19 – 22, 2013.

* Sign up before Oct. 1st to avoid an additional $85.00 late enrollment fee. The total cost of the trip (airfare, hotel, transportation, food, tours, and Inaugural Ball) for students is $1,662.00 and $1,867.00 for adults.

* The Presidential Race is far from over, but President Obama seems to be opening up some large leads in key battleground states. Polls in Ohio show the President 10 points up and 5 points up in Florida. Gov. Romney needs at least one of those states to win. The election process is so interesting and it’s getting exciting!

* As of today we have 6 students and 8 adults signed up. It will be a nice small group representing Haynes Charter for Enriched Studies at the Inauguration. It would be great to have at least another 4 students join us on our trip to Washington.

* Sign up online at http://www.smithsonianstudenttravel.com/ and go to “View Your Teacher’s Tour” and enter tour number 1176234 to get more information and to sign-up.

Innisbrook Reminder - ends 10/1

Don't forget to keep selling Innisbrook. The fundraiser ends 10/1.

We have had a great response so far - even many orders from friends and family out of state!

Students names are being announced as they earn prizes, and are able to claim them that day at school. Congratulations to all our participants. Keep up the great work!

A few important notes:

This is not a drop off event. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Also, no one will be permitted beyond the roped off area on campus due to liability restrictions. Parents please remind children of this important fact to maintain a safe environment for all attending.

Also, volunteers are needed for quick, one-hour shifts. Please contact Erin Oppenheimer with your availability.

We're in search of...products or homemade items for donations to our Annual Holiday Boutique.

Each year our school holds a holiday boutique as a service to our students who may wish to purchase gifts for friends and family members! Items are priced between .50 cents and $5.00. We also wrap the gifts for the students to keep their choices a secret - shhhhhh.

This year, we are excited to give our creative and small-business families an opportunity to donate and be recognized!

If you like, add a small tag with business contact information on the items you donate.

Please, no multi-level marketing products.

Please bring all donations to the office. And on behalf of our students, THANK YOU!
