It appears that HCDC BSA studes are in close competition with its contenders particularly upon knowing that they will be sharing the same music video with the other two chapters/universities. Katy Perry's Hot n Cold might not be the best pick after all, nevertheless, considering the tininess of the time given for preparation and rehearsals, standing upon what's been laid on the table's the wisest means they could ever think to play the game.

At precisely six in the evening, the first participant is called to set the stage on fire. Lights were turned on, wedding bells resonated through the gargantuan stereos, and the whole HCDC Chapter MTV spoof members knew what it means...they are not the only ones who will be doing Katy Perry's HOT n COLD.

The competition wrapped up triumphantly and everyone's guessing as to who will take the crown. Crossing their fingers, the HCDC chapter still hoped to win the first prize notwithstanding the fact that having compared to some of their rivals is an absolute possibility considering the circumstances.

Few hours came by and results for different competitions were fed to the crowd. HCDC chapter won as first runner up...the judges' second best. It was their goal to defend their title as last year's MTV spoof champion. They might have failed to accomplish this pact but they never failed to surprise, entertain, and make the least of their HCDC-BSA folks the proudest among those present during the JPIA 2010 mid-year convention.

JPIA Mid-year Convention has Set the Stage on Fire

August 21, 2010, Sunday, was all set for the JPIA Mid-year Annual Convention. The event commenced at daybreak that day. Everyone was jovial and optimistic that at the end of the day they'll prove their worth as JPIA members. And they actually did!

Several BSA and BSAcT studes from different universities and colleges around Region XI assembled as one dominating arena of talents, brains, abilities and strengths. Holy Cross of Davao College stood in eminent pride as it welcomed JPIA members from other schools. The HCDC Gymnasium roared in blitheness as groups of students yell in advocacy for their school representatives. It was truly another remarkable event that completed the history of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants.

I, among the countless people who sat attentively around the gym, was surprised to see how extravagant and auspicious the start of the convention was. Aside from the ear-splitting sound of drums and gargantuan stereos, there were groups of people thumping their feet in unison to the beats that come out from everywhere. Every school has apparently equipped themselves for a friendly battle. There were bright tinted hairs and skirts, ties and heels, pompoms and balloons. At the sight of them, I almost forgot that I had to get ready for my own fight also.

Four days back, people in our school were bathed with extreme anxiety as they were thinking about losing the fight for there were no enough time to prepare. Representatives for different games and competitions were obviously in no good condition for the rivalry. Nevertheless, the officers managed to stir everyone up, including I. Speech Choir and MTV Spoof were two finale events for the day...and they were all handed down to me. It was hard. Two immense groups in two nerve-racking competitions? Are they nuts? And they were asking a single "JUST ME" to pull them all?...these were my initial response..but I didn't let them drag me off my interests..and so I did it. We did it.
