Minimum Qualifications
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. Advance certification by accrediting body in specialty required within 18 months of hire if applicable. BLS certification required. This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months in the area of specialty.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager is responsible for direction of clinical services in Labor & Delivery and Maternity. Works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer, Manager of Pediatrics and Medical Staff leadership to develop, implement, and maintain clinical and educational programs that enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing. BSN preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: R.N. with current New Mexico State license. BLS and other certification as applicable to area. National certification in area of expertise is a plus.

SKILLS: Strong clinical and leadership skills and previous management experience including experience in facilitating interdisciplinary team collaboration. Evidence of such experience should include:

Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

Successful completion of a Bachelor in Science in an accredited college or university with a chemical, physical or biological science as a major subject and at least 12 months of training in a clinical laboratory of a hospital accredited by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or a B.S. in Medical Technology, or an A.A. in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of Hospital Training.

Required licensures/certifications

Current Clinical Lab Supervisor Florida license.

Current Florida license as a Medical Technologist in all specialties.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to perform and to teach students in the threshold and practical aspect of all procedures      of the department.  Knowledge and understanding of the work flow in the laboratory.  Manual dexterity. Good oral and written communication skills

Experience

At least 2 years experience as a medical technologist in the specialty for which is applying as Section Head.

In keeping with the core values, supervises patient care and directs operational and personnel activities of the Cath Lab/Special Procedures and CVOU Units. The Manager of the Cardiac Cath lab will be responsible to oversee the daily function of the Lab. The manager will update yearly and verify that appropriate minimum staffing and department goals are achieved as per the Scope to Service and Practice as well as the department specific Strategic Business Plan. The manager will represent the Cath lab at all Meetings, prepare all budgetary reports, develop all required policies/procedures & protocols, document monthly statistical summaries/variances and act as a liaison between the lab, other departments, hospitals, physicians and their offices. The manager will work with the nurse, senior technologist and educator to assure all staff competencies, evaluations and actions are documented and completed on time. The position reports directly to the Director of the CV Service Line.

Good interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, physicians, families, employees, administrators, and the public under varied conditions. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and critical decision-making skills necessary. This position would be responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating the IC program for Infection Prevention and Control hospital wide. The Director will establish and implement all Infection Control Guidelines, Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control Plans, and the TB Control plan.  Acts as a resource to hospital team members for infection control issues.  Position will chair the Infection Control Committee and sit on the JAG & Safety Committees.   The Director will supervise 2 IC RN’s and a department secretary.  Position reports to the Vice President of Patient Care Services and is a peer to the health systems DON level.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other health related field required; RN license preferred;
Master’s Degree required.  5-7 years of experience in Infection Control; Certification (CIC) highly desired and at least 3 years of management experience in Infection Control required. Experience within a complex healthcare organization, i.e.: academic healthcare setting strongly preferred.

Nurse Midwives most often provide healthcare for women throughout their pregnancies. They work in a variety of locations including hospitals, clinics, birthing center, and homes. They generally work with healthy women with low-risk pregnancies, and they can prescribe various medications and treatments.
Specializations
One of the most notable advantages of an advanced nursing degree is the ability to specialize. Nursing students in a master’s program can choose to focus on a specific area such as psychiatric, geriatric, neonatal, or pediatric nursing, among other specialties.
