I want to record my buddy doing tricks and stuff in his skateboard and for my birthday i want to get a pro camera good for recording skate tricks. do u guys got any clues?

I am debating on whether getting the Gopro HD Hero2 or the Hero3: Black Edition. Which one is better? I am planning on using it for Snowboarding. At Costco, I saw the Gopro HD Hero2 + Wifi Bacpac and Remote for $ 199.99. Should I get that or Should I pay another $ 200+ and get the Hero3. Whats the major Difference? Is there any significant differance? Please help me decide.

Both cameras take really nice video and get the job done. Ive seen both cameras in action and I would recommend the GoPro Hero 2 over the Contour Roam or any of the Contour cameras. The GoPro video quality is a bit better and the camera itself is durable and can take a beating. Also the GoPro comes with a waterproof case and the contour doesn’t. The Hero 2 also takes decent pictures. Check out the links below to see the Hero 2 in action. The last YouTube link will answer your question more in depth.

Question by Hanoo: underwater photography/video Canon S95 or GoPro HD HERO2?
What would be the best camera in terms of photo quality UNDERWATER? Is the sensor size of S95 larger than that of the GoPro hero 2? I understand that the GoPro is much better at stabilizing the video but wouldn’t the S95 have more advantage over the GoPro in terms of adjusting manual exposure etc?

I don’t want to buy a housing for my DSLR as a housing for my camera a Canon 550D is really expensive. but price is not an issue for the S95 + housing or GoPro hero 2…i jux want to know which is better out of the two. thanx

Just for basic use such as skating, first person videos, not much water use.
