If you’re looking for a natural, less painful alternative to traditional waxing, it’s time to discover sugaring hair removal! This ancient beauty treatment has been around for centuries, and for good reason—it leaves your skin silky smooth while being gentle and all-natural.

What Is Sugaring?

Sugaring is a hair removal method that uses a simple paste made of sugar, lemon, and water to remove hair from the root. Unlike traditional waxing, which adheres to both hair and skin, sugaring only sticks to the hair, making it much less painful and better for sensitive skin.

Why Choose Sugaring?

Less Painful – The sugar paste is applied at body temperature, reducing the risk of burns, and it removes hair in the direction of growth, which minimizes discomfort.

All-Natural Ingredients – No harsh chemicals or artificial ingredients—just pure, simple goodness!

Gentle on Skin – Sugaring exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth. Plus, there’s less irritation and redness compared to traditional waxing.

Long-Lasting Results – Since hair is removed from the root, results can last up to 4-6 weeks, and with regular treatments, hair grows back finer and sparser over time.

No Sticky Residue – Sugar paste is water-soluble, so any leftover product rinses off easily with warm water—no sticky mess!

What Areas Can Be Sugared?

Sugaring is safe for almost every part of the body, including:
Legs
Arms
Underarms
Bikini & Brazilian
Face (upper lip, chin, brows)
Back & Chest

Sugaring vs. Waxing: Which Is Better?

While both methods remove hair from the root, sugaring has some clear advantages over waxing:
More gentle on sensitive skin
Less painful process
Removes shorter hairs (as little as 1/16 inch!)
No risk of burns from hot wax

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a natural, skin-friendly way to remove hair, sugaring is definitely worth trying! Not only does it leave your skin smooth and exfoliated, but it also helps reduce hair growth over time. Ready to make the switch? Book an appointment with a professional sugaring expert and experience the difference for yourself!

Have you tried sugaring before? Let us know your experience in the comments below!

Research has shown that lavender oil has been successful in treating depression, anxiety, insomnia and restlessness. In fact, some studies have shown an improvement in gastrointestinal illness, headaches, toothaches, sores and sprains with the use of lavender oil.

Got Dandruff or Itchy Scalp?

Lavender oil can help scalp conditions. Many dermatologists have been prescribing the use of lavender oil prior to suggesting medications for dry scalp. The remedy: Wet hair with warm water and towel dry. Next, grab a mug and mix 15 drops of lavender essential oil in 2 Tablespoons olive or almond oil. Microwave for about 10 seconds or until it feels warm. Massage the oil into your scalp. Using a shower cap, let the solution set on your scalp for an hour, then shampoo out. It is perfectly safe to use multiple times.

Bloated?

Bloating can be caused by poor digestion from an overload of “bad bacteria” in your gut. Sometimes when we take antibiotics this can happen as a side effect. Antibiotics kill both the good and the bad bacteria in your body. The remedy: Use dried edible lavender in your food. Putting it into Greek Yogurt is especially helpful since the bacteria in this type of yogurt works super well to rebuild the good bacteria.

Stressed Out?

Ever have a stressful day? Well Lavender can help with that too. Research has shown that the smell of lavender can make you feel relaxed. It has proven to slow down your heart rate as well as lower your blood pressure. The remedy: If you’re feeling stressed out or just can’t go to bed, try putting some fresh lavender in a vase near your bed, or use a diffuser with some lavender oil in it to feel stress free.

Bug Bite Magnet?

Since lavender is a natural anti-inflammatory, it can help reduce itching, redness and swelling. It won’t help you avoid the bites, but it will help afterwards. The Remedy: Dab a few drops of lavender oil on the affected area and wait about 10 minutes for it to seep in. This remedy can be reapplied every 6-8 hours for the next 24 hours if need be.

So next time one of these issues arise for you, don’t reach for the medicine cabinet. Go for the garden and try a natural approach to healing!

As we age, the turnover rate of our skin cells slows. Dead skin cells that normally shed every 28 days hang on to the skin’s surface longer, leaving it feeling coarser due to uneven surface texture. This rough texture does not reflect light evenly, resulting in lack of skin radiance or brightness. This slowed cell turnover can exasperate the appearance of pores making them appear larger.

Many individuals turn to different skin treatments to help alleviate these skin aging concerns. One common skin treatment is microdermabrasion, which uses a tool to buff or sand away the stratum corneum (outer layers of the epidermis). This increases the smoothness of your skin, helps it look brighter and decreases the appearance of pores. This can also stimulate the skin’s natural cell renewal process, resulting in a younger appearance. Microdermabrasion is less invasive than many professional skin treatments, but some may experience mild swelling and redness that lasts from as little as a few hours to a couple of days.

Nu Skin’s Polishing Peel Skin Refinisher resurfaces and polishes skin to immediately deliver a fresh, glowing complexion. It features pumpkin enzymes to resurface, soften and polish the skin and bentonite clay to remove dull skin cells and toxins. In an internal consumer use study, Nu Skin Polishing Peel was found to provide benefits similar to those experienced by some microdermabrasion techniques.

During this study participants received a professional microdermabrasion treatment on one side of their face and used Nu Skin Polishing Peel on the other half of their face. The users and independent graders tactilely and visually evaluated their skin. Overall, the two were considered equivalent, with Nu Skin Polishing Peel rating higher for the skin being smoother and softer and microdermabrasion rating slightly higher for the skin feeling resurfaced.

Buy it here

Positive benefits reported from both treatments included “skin is glowing,” “looks smoother,” “pores seem smaller,” “looks resurfaced,” “tone and color are more even,” “looks healthier,” “looks less oily,” and “I look younger.”

Nu Skin Polishing Peel provides results equivalent to microdermabrasion with a convenient, quick, application just a couple times per week as part of your skin care regimen. It helps resurface and polish skin leaving a healthy, youthful looking complexion and radiates a healthy looking glow.

If someone offers you a pill for weight loss or to prevent vision loss such as that caused by macular degeneration, you would take it right? Well no need for pills, just hop on over to your local grocery store and load up on fresh or frozen berries. Berries contain antioxidants and phytochemicals, which are naturally occurring nutrients in our bodies that help protect cells from cell damage (oxidative stress) caused by free radicals. Eating a diet rich in antioxidants can help improve your health, protect your skin and hair, and prevent certain diseases. All fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, but nutrient-rich berries are some of the absolute best sources. Some of the best sources of these health benefits are Strawberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Boysenberries, Cranberries and Blueberries.

There are several powerful antioxidants that appear in berries, including anthocyanins, quercetin, and vitamin C. Anthocyanins give berries their vibrant color, reduce inflammation, and may help prevent and manage arthritis. Anthocyanins work together with quercetin to help slow age-related memory-loss. Quercetin can also decrease the inflammatory effects of chemicals in the synovial fluid of the joints for people with inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.

Studies have shown that woman who eat two servings of strawberries or one serving of blueberries a week experienced less mental decline over time than peers who did not consume berries. Berries are also able to be included in diets of those suffering with diabetes. While they are a “sweet” fruit, they contain a high level of fiber which can be useful in diabetic diets. They can count as a serving of fruit. Its always better to eat fresh berries than those that have been processed or used in a pie or muffin.

People who eat at least two servings of berries a week have a 25 percent less chance of developing Parkinson’s disease than their peers, according to research published in the journal Neurology. The same research showed that men with the highest intake of flavonoids — which are abundant in berries — reduced their risk by 40 percent. Flavonoids are being studied to help ward off certain types of cancer. Research published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis suggests that flavonoids and other compounds found in berries may help reduce colon cancer risk. Besides eating them plain, you can also get your berry servings by adding them fresh or frozen to other high-nutrition foods such as yogurt, oatmeal, and salads.

Vitamin C is another strong antioxidant found in berries. It is largely responsible for the health of collagen, which helps maintain cartilage stores and aids in joint flexibility. Eating vitamin C–rich berries will contribute to radiant skin and healthy hair, and may reduce the risk of arthritis, high blood pressure, cataracts, and macular degeneration.

In addition to antioxidants, berries are “juicy foods,” which means they contain mostly water. Juicy foods are great for losing weight because they fill you up quickly, since their high water content bumps up the volume while driving down the calories. Berries also contain fiber and folate. Fiber aids in weight loss and helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Folate may protect against cardiovascular disease and age-related memory loss, and since folate contributes to the production of serotonin, it may also help ward off depression and improve your mood. IBS sufferers take note: Some people with IBS experience discomfort after eating berries. People with a strong inherited risk for heart disease may find that a diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables, including berries, can reduce their chances of having a heart attack, according to a study published in PLoS Medicine.

Remember, if you can’t find fresh berries, frozen (unsweetened) berries are a good substitute during the off-season months — and just as nutritious!

LIFE…In your 20’s you can conquer the world, you are feeling unstoppable. Your 30’s you think about settling down and starting your own family. You hit 40, the vision starts to get worse and the reading glasses get added as a necessary accessory. You hit 50 and it seems like everything begins to fall apart. Its as though a time clock just went off reminding us that we are entering THE ZONE.

The Zone I am referring too is the one where you log into your Facebook account and see all the updates of your friends… the aches, the pains, the illnesses and surgeries of aging. Weren’t we JUST in high school a few short years ago? Wow how time flies! Gratitude lists begin showing up more and more as status updates. Don’t look at the things that are wrong, look at the things that are right, that are going your way. Sounds like a plan to me. But when you go for your annual physical and the reports are not as peachy as they were before, or you look in that mirror and see that new line that wasn’t there yesterday, or that dark freckle thats starting to look a little off, or the indigestion that you seem to get every single time you sit down to a nice dinner, your brain begins to wander and you start thinking…aging sucks! Then it hits me!

If I want to feel my absolute best and be in the same shape I was in when I was younger, sitting on my butt in front a computer screen all day is not going to work anything out on my body, except maybe my fingers. Time to put the wheels in motion and take charge of my life, while I am still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. I need to be the best me I can be that will allow me to “grow up” gracefully. So I began to do some research into a variety of products that would help me slow down the aging process, that were not filled with hype and unfulfilled promises. I found a product line by a company called Pharmanex. This company has the key to slowing down the aging process. With their recent aquisition of LifeGen Technologies, they have over 30 years of research on how and why people age. I began taking some of their products and let me tell you, that stuff changed my life! I am not one to rave about a product nor promote a product on this blog very often (if you are an avid reader, then you know this already). But this stuff is truly a life saver. Supposedly it has an ingredient that can re-start the mitochondria in your cells. The mitochondria slows down as we age and causes most of our problems as we age. The mitochondria is the brain of every single cell we have in our bodies. Its the powerhouse of our cells. I not only sleep better at night, but I feel like I have the energy of the 30 year old. Its pretty incredible! The best part is my blood work from my physical came back better then it had in years! This link can give you more information on how to slow down the aging process for yourself and feel year younger. I PROMISE! Let me know how you feel after you try one of these products.

When the Ink Spots sang “I love the java jive and it loves me” in 1940, they could not have known how right they were!

Coffee not only helps clear the mind and perk up the energy, it also provides more healthful antioxidants than any other food or beverage in the American diet, according to a study released Sunday.

Of course, too much coffee can make people jittery and even raise cholesterol levels, so food experts stress moderation.

The findings by Joe A. Vinson, a chemistry professor at the University of Scranton, in Pennsylvania, give a healthy boost to the warming beverage.

“The point is, people are getting the most antioxidants from beverages, as opposed to what you might think,” Vinson said in a telephone interview.

Antioxidants, which are thought to help battle cancer and provide other health benefits, are abundant in grains, tomatoes and many other fruits and vegetables.

Vinson said he was researching tea and cocoa and other foods and decided to study coffee, too.

His team analyzed the antioxidant content of more than 100 different food items, including vegetables, fruits, nuts, spices, oils and common beverages. They then used Agriculture Department data on typical food consumption patterns to calculate how much antioxidant each food contributes to a person’s diet.

They concluded that the average adult consumes 1,299 milligrams of antioxidants daily from coffee. The closest competitor was tea at 294 milligrams. Rounding out the top five sources were bananas, 76 milligrams; dry beans, 72 milligrams; and corn, 48 milligrams. According to the Agriculture Department, the typical adult American drinks 1.64 cups of coffee daily.

That does not mean coffee is a substitute for fruit and vegetables.

“Unfortunately, consumers are still not eating enough fruits and vegetables, which are better for you from an overall nutritional point of view due to their higher content of vitamins, minerals and fiber,” Vinson said.

The proof is in the Scan

There is a machine called a Biophotonic Scanner that was put out by a company called Pharmanex. This company has the right ideas, keeping folks younger longer by addressing the genes that start to fade as we age. This new technology has recently made a break through in the health care industry. About 6 months ago I had my first scan using the biophotonic scanner and my score was disgraceful coming in as an “F” according tot he technician tending the machine. It was mentioned to me that there was a great new supplement on the market that could raise my scan score guaranteed. Started taking it and it raised my score, meaning I now have more anti oxidants in my body. But the kicker is, since I started drinking more coffee my score rose even more. Not only does coffee make me human in the am, it is an incredible anti oxidant! Yea coffee!!!! finally something that good for you.
