News : New DYSRHYTHMIA Demo? Yes, Please!

2011-10-07T07:33:00.000-07:00

I saw Dyshythmia a few months ago at Union Pool and was absolutely entranced at their mesmerizing music. Three musicians on stage just jamming it out. Who needs vocals anymore? I am really excited hear their new demo track, because this means that more is on the way! The track is one great build to a very satisfying climax. The band will be playing their final show of the year later this month in NYC, maybe you should be there?

Both produced by Colin Richardson. Then, touring across Europe with Morgoth/Samael/Unleashed/Tiamat in 1993 and DEATH in 1994. The band is recently reformed and actively working on a new album in their most deadly style!

News : ANAL CUNT collection due out in November

2011-10-06T04:42:00.000-07:00

In a posthumous release, Relapse Records will be putting out a two-disc collection of Anal Cunt's early recordings called The Old Testament on November 22. The double-disc set will feature the "5,643 Song EP", early split releases, the band's first and last demo, and liner notes written by late Anal Cunt frontman Seth Putnam.

""The recordings from 1988 to 1991 represent the older A.C. sound. When the band started, the goal was to be the fastest, noisiest band around and to have absolutely no trace of musicality at all — no lyrics, no song titles, no music written for the songs…. Over time, some musical parts were added here and there.

The Old Testament will also feature an epilogue from original drummer Tim Morse, so if you are a fan of Putnam and Anal Cunt, this is probably going to be a must have.

1349 recently issued the following update:

"The bells are chiming! We proudly announce that the first 1349 tour on European soil in many years is to take place in October 2011. After several rounds in the US, and following our pinnacle album Demonoir, we are finally going to make a tour happen in Europe again. We remember with great fondness the European tour following Hellfire, and it's going to be fabulous and exciting to be back touring our own continent again. Playing Demonoir songs live gives us a diabolic boost, and the hunger and ferocity of 1349 have grown immensely since the last round. The classics from earlier albums will of course not be left out from our live-sets… we set out to make every show on our European tour a sheer feast of black metal ecstasy."

News : Behemoth Are Back With “Lucifer“

2011-10-05T14:52:00.000-07:00

So, unless you have really been away from metal for the past year or so, you probably know thatBehemoth frontman Adam ‘Nergal’ Darski had been battling leukemia. He has defeated the disease and is slowly getting back in shape, and will be playing new shows soon. Hooray!

But if you’re a Behemoth fan, this is all old news to you. What’s new? THERE’S A NEW BEHEMOTH VIDEO. Now, you probably know that Behemoth videos, directed by Grupa 13, are among the best ov metal videos. They have insane production values and weird imagery, and they’re extremely NSFW. Ov course, this one is no different, but seeing Nergal back in action after his triumph over cancer is refreshing. Without further ado, I present to thee, “Lucifer“:

Now, as per usual with Behemoth videos, the imagery is very dense. I’ve seen in previous interviews that the creepy guy in the suit is supposed to be Lucifer. Nergal seems to be in top shape, and I think he really should go into acting. The song is entirely in Polish, and it’s actually a poem by famous poet Tadeusz Miciński. There’s an excellent video with translated and transliterated lyrics after the jump, if you want to delve deeper into the song, and also footage of Behemoth rehearsing Lucifer in studio, post-leukemia:
