El Placebo comes to us all from my good friend, Aaron Ledger, or as I know him, Pyle.

Pyle’s one of my wrestling buddies, who watches pay per views with me at Buffalo Wild Wings. During Summerslam last week, Pyle came up with the idea of El Palcebo and we spent the night riffing on ideas about him, as well as the ridiculous disclaimer.

So, for all of our sakes, please view El Placebo responsibly!

I’ve seen plenty of other guys whose significant others have been far less supportive and it makes me feel so lucky to be her partner and proud husband.

This is a link to a Kickstarter campaign for a recent creative project I was involved in and is now being funded privately because the original company that conceived the book closed its doors.

If you’re not in the know, a viral video went around a while ago about Guy “Bear” Vasquez witnessing a double rainbow while on a camping trip. He got very emotional and the video he posted became a viral hit.

I recently watched a film that I really enjoyed. It’s a Film Noir piece from 1950 called ‘Night and the City’.

It has to do with a shady hustler in London who bumps into & befriends a well-respected wrestler, played by Stanislaus Zybysko, father of Larry ‘The Living Legend’ Zybysko, who dislikes the current state of pro-wrestling going on in that day. The hustler wrangles some cash together to buy into the promotion business and sets up his own show with the old time fave.

Things fall apart quickly for the hustler from there.

The film was remade in 1992 by Robert DeNiro, but that version centered around boxing. I prefer this version. Can’t imagine why!

It’s probably the first Noir film I’ve ever seen, but it was really entertaining and is available off of Netflix from their instant streaming service.

I want to share with you some information about InterventionCon 2010. It’s going on September 10th through the 12th, with workshops for WordPress and ComicPress, more info can be found at http://interventioncon.com/

The thing most important to me is that Philip M. Hofer (Frumph) will be there to hold these workshops. Philip is one of the developers of ComicPress and is an incredibly giving and helpful man. Anyone in webcomics using ComicPress should follow him on Twitter. (http://twitter.com/Frumph)

If you have any questions, you can ask him and he will answer for you as best as he can. He even does chats through his website, http://www.frumph.net/, and as long as he can talk you through fixing your problems, he does so for free. This is an amazing act of generosity on his part and this site would still be in deep troubles if it weren’t for his help.

I admit having a past fondness for the big guy wrestlers. It started with Hogan, transitioned to Ultimate Warrior, leaped to Kane and I even held a fondness for Goldberg in there for a minute or two. But, I will admit, their matches were never blistering hot examples of the best wrestling ever. I still enjoyed them, thanks to my own overdeveloped sense of need for power fantasies.
