Next, using Apple Cider Vinegar for a hair rinse and toner for face. Make the rinse by mixing 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with one quart of distilled water. Put the mixture in a glass jar or plastic bottle and bring it into the shower or bath. Also use Vaseline to take off eye makeup. Follow me on Twitter: www.twitter.com

When people think about skin care, consumer products are generally the first things that come to mind. While there some excellent skin care products on the market today, the solution to your skin care problems cannot always be solved with the latest and greatest products. While these products do have their place, there are a number of things you can do on your own to ensure that your skin is healthy and beautiful.

Proper hydration is often overlooked as a treatment for problematic skin. The importance of water consumption cannot be understated. It is recommended that everyone drink upwards of eight 8oz glasses of water per day. Water plays a significant role in helping to rid your body of excess toxins. These toxins can have an effect on other areas of your health, as well as the state of your skin.

Exfoliation is another element of skin care that is often overlooked. Proper exfoliation can have a profound effect on your skin. Dry brush exfoliation is by far the best for your skin, as it removes dead skin cells, improves lymph node function, and increases blood circulation. Dry brush exfoliation also stimulates detoxification. As your skin is your largest organ, the state of your skin can provide a lot of information about the state of your health.

Your diet also plays a significant role in the health of your skin. Common sugar, for instance, has recently been linked with accelerated aging. The process is called glycation, and occurs when a sugar molecule binds to a protein molecule. These new molecules are referred to as AGE's (advanced glycation end products), and have been found to damage collagen in skin, ligaments, and cartilage.

Essential fats are another consideration. These are fats that your body cannot live without because they assist in the creation of cell membranes, hormones, and other such chemicals needed for optimal health. To ensure you are getting good fats in your diet, try using flax seed oil, walnut oil, or other such supplements. Eating fish can also provide you with an excellent source of good fat, especially salmon and sardines. Be sure to consult your physician before making any significant lifestyle changes.

There is an anti-aging revolution occurring in healthcare today and that you are the main beneficiary. Nowhere in the field of anti-aging medicine are the breakthroughs and technological advances more exciting, more relevant and more readily available for immediate application and benefit to you than in the field of facial rejuvenation. Better, the most exciting, effective new discoveries are non-surgical methods for facial rejuvenation. Yes I said non-surgical and I said effective.

How do we change from that radiant 16 year old with smooth glowing fresh skin to the 40 something who is beginning to see her mother looking back at her in the mirror to the 65 year old with hooded eyes, puffy lower eyelids, jowls, and loose skin folds hanging under the chin. Let's review and clearly understand what these changes are that we must look for, recognize and then take steps to correct.

Skin Texture Changes (Surface Irregularities)

The aged facial skin looks dry when compared to a child's skin. Over half of the crucial natural skin moisturizing agent Hyaluronic Acid is lost by the time we turn 50 and you cannot replace HA by taking a pill or applying it to your skin. Loss of hormonal support during menopause accelerates this change. Dry aged skin loses its glow, looks dull, almost grey. The aged skin is wrinkled and rough and pore size is enlarged.

Uneven pigmentation, brown spots, and red spots (Pigment and Blood vessels)

Uneven pigmentation and over growth of blood vessels are characteristic of aged facial skin. These blemishes are a protective and inflammatory response of the skin to years of exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun and injury from free radicals released by harmful agents in our environment and diet.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles are classic signs of facial aging. Static wrinkles are those that are present in the skin when the face is at rest. These wrinkles are caused by the loss of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. Collagen is destroyed by UV light from the sun and free radicals from other sources. As the collagen disappears volume is lost beneath the skin and the skin wrinkles. This is not unlike the way a grape wrinkles after drying to produce a raisin.

Dynamic wrinkles are those that you see when the face is moving- frown lines, laugh lines, worry lines, and crow's feet. These lines are actually caused by the pull of the facial muscles beneath the facial skin. Dynamic wrinkles can become static wrinkles after years of repeated pulling by the facial muscles.

Deep Facial Lines

Deep facial lines are those lines around the mouth called the Nasal-labial fold line and the Marionette lines. These lines are different from wrinkles in that they are caused by a combination of the pull of the facial muscles and loose sagging skin. As the face ages, the skin becomes loose and falls over the line created by the facial muscle pull, for example the smile line.

Loose skin

The skin of the aged face has lost it's elasticity and has become loose. The cheek has fallen and created loose skin on the jaw called jowls. The skin beneath the jaw on the neck is also hanging down, a phenomenon called the turkey wattle.

What Is Facial Rejuvenation

The definition of rejuvenate is to make young or youthful again or restore to an original or new state. True facial rejuvenation requires correction of all of the above facial aging changes for the face to be made young or youthful or restored to an original state. The 6-step program mis designed to address all aging changes without surgery.

The 6-Step Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Program

The 6-step facial rejuvenation program consists of the following 6 steps:

1. Exfoliation

2. Stimulation of new collagen formation

3. Removal of abnormal pigment and blood vessels

4. Relaxation of lines of facial expression

5. Fill deep facial lines

6. Skin tightening

The 6-Step Program In Action- How it's Done

Step 1-Exfoliation

I start all of my patients on an exfoliation routine consisting of topical exfoliating creams and microdermabrasion or superficial chemical peels with glycolic or salicylic acid. The latter peels are no down time procedures, you leave the office a little pink but with a refreshed glow. The exfoliating creams I use are Retin A or Tazarotine, although for patients with sensitive skin I use Vitamin C topically.

For patients with more severe aging changes I use a deper form of exfoliation called MicroLasaerPeel. This procedure goes deeper than a Microdermabrasion and is more effective, but you leave the office quite red and need 4 to 6 days for your skin to look normal. This is a great improvement over laser resurfacing, which goes much deeper and requires many weeks of recovery. MicroLaserePeel does not lighten the skin or leave demarcation lines as does laser resurfacing. Many physicians use deeper chemical peels with TCA, but I prefer the MicroLaserPeel because of its accuracy and reliability.

Step 2- Stimulate New Collagen Formation

After deep exfoliation, this is the most important step for removal of static facial wrinkles and fine lines. This step is also the most time consuming and tedious and requires patience on your part. There is no quick non-surgical way to remove visible facial wrinkles. Laser resurfacing can quickly and effectively remove facial wrinkles but I consider laser resurfacing a surgical procedure and the prolonged recovery and down time make laser resurfacing unacceptable for most people.

While the topical creams mentioned above and deep exfoliation stimulate new collagen production, additional stimulation is required. Several new laser techniques, IPL, and radiofrequency machines can stimulate the skin to form new collagen in the deeper layers without producing damage to the skin surface. These techniques are called non-ablative, meaning they do not remove the surface skin cells as is done in laser resurfacing, which is an ablative technique. Consequently these non- ablative techniques are no down time procedures meaning that after a treatment you are pink but recover quickly within hours.

There are many different brands of machines that can perform non-ablative stimulation of collagen formation often called photorejuvenation. I prefer one called Lasergenesis because it is easy, painless, and effective. IPL is also effective and is very useful in patients who have a lot of pigment and abnormal blood vessels, but IPL is stronger, involves contact of the machine to the skin and must be used with caution by a person who is trained and experienced in its use.

Collagen stimulation is a lengthy process. Effective results that you can see in the mirror, that is fewer wrinkles, requires at least 5-7 treatments and 5-7 months for the benefit to be visible. But, it took 30-40 years to form those wrinkles, so removal in 7 months without surgery and down time is pretty good.

Step 3- Removal of Abnormal Pigment and Blood Vessels

Although creams and exfoliation can remove many light brown spots and the lasers and IPL used in step 2 remove smaller vessels, more aggressive therapy is needed for removal of darker pigment and brown spots and larger vessels. There are many non-ablative lasers available for removing pigment and blood vessels. While these lasers are non-ablative they do leave a reddish mark which is visible for a day or two and easily covered with make up. I have used a laser called the Versapulse for many years which works very well, but new Versapulse lasers are so expensive that they are rarely being manufactured today. A newer laser called the Coolglide is very effective for larger blood vessels. Today, the IPL is the choice for combined pigment and smaller blood vessels that appear as a flush similar to Rosacea.

The above therapies are effective and results are visible in about six weeks. Usually 2 or 3 treatments are needed.

Step 4- Relaxation of Muscles of Facial Expression

Botox is a revolutionary new drug which effectively removes dynamic lines and wrinkles caused by the muscles of facial expression. The frown lines, worry lines, crow's feet, and bunny lines all may be lessened or removed by the injection of Botox. Lipstick lines, the fine wrinkles around the lips may also be lessened with Botox but only small amounts can be used, otherwise the lips will be weakened.

There are several new peptides, one of which is acetyl 3 hexapeptide, which when applied topically as a cream are reported to have a Botox-like effect in reducing fine lines. Eventually these agents will be perfected, be more effective and possibly make Botox injections unnecessary.

You may read more about how these muscle relaxing, wrinkle removing agents work in Chapter 7, No Down time Facial anti-aging Procedures.

Step 5- Fill Deep Facial Lines and Contour Deformities

Soft tissue fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, your own fat and other fillers can be injected into the skin beneath a deep facial line to plump the line and camouflage the line. They may also be used to plump the aging lip and to fill contour deformities caused by facial aging.

These fillers are temporary and must be repeated every 6 months to a year. Fat injections can last longer and if done properly may not need to be repeated. Remember however, the filler techniques are a camouflage, not a correction.

Step 6- Skin Tightening

Skin tightening is a very important component of any facial rejuvenation process. Prior to the past year or two, a face-lift was the only option for tightening facial skin. However new technologies using Infrared, Radiofrequency, and combined 13191064 wavelength laser energy are showing promising results as non-surgical skin tightening methods.

Two of these methods, Thermage, which uses radiofrequency energy, and Titan, an infrared device have been used for 2 years and results are improving. These methods are not a non-surgical face-lift as so often advertised, so do not be misled. They can however tighten skin by as much as 30% in properly selected patients. There have been complications with Thermage consisting of depressions in certain areas of the facial skin so knowledge and experience with the use of these machines is very important.

As with other non-surgical facial rejuvenation techniques skin tightening requires multiple treatments and takes time to see the final result, often 5 months. As with the other laser and photo techniques above skin tightening is achieved by stimulating the deeper layers of the skin to remodel and form new collagen, a process which takes time, usually 5 to 6 months to see your result.

Non-surgical skin tightening is most useful for younger patients who are beginning to have loose skin in the neck, along the jaw-line, and in the cheek. Older patients with severe facial sagging can be improved but results will be less impressive.

The 6-step facial Rejuvenation Program is a carefully structured method for the application of revolutionary new methods to obtain effective non-surgical rejuvenation. This program takes time, but the results are visible and real after about 7 months, the same time frame most people spend using creams and diets only to end up seeing no difference in their face. Remember, it took a lifetime for your face to age, does it make sense that this damage can be reversed overnight-of course not.

The non-surgical facial rejuvenation program is expensive. These new technologies are costly and of course you need to be treated by a qualified physician. However, with the six-step program you get what you pay for, facial rejuvenation without the risk, discomfort, and expense of surgery. If you total the cost of your skin creams, facials, fad diets, and spa visits and save this money for the 6-step program many of you will be very close to covering the cost. For those of you who already have facial rejuvenation treatments in a doctors office, the 6-step program will produce better more effective results and save you money.

Microdermabrasion treatments used to be known as the lunchtime peel. This short but effective anti aging skin procedure involved a visit to a dermatologist or cosmetician's office. Thanks to new technology you can now perform this costly procedure yourself at home by buying home microdermabrasion kits.

Professional microdermabrasion treatments involve the use of a tool that resembles a small blowtorch. This torch emits crystals on the surface of the skin and then gently polishes it. This polishing gets rid of the old exfoliated old skin cells and encourages new skin cells to grow. The stimulation to the smaller blood vessels in the facial skin is often immediately obvious because it brings a fresh baby pink glow to the face.

These exfoliating and polishing treatments for sun-damaged skin are very popular. Microdermabrasian involves removing the superficial damaged layers in a non-invasive ways. These skin layers look healthier and the thickness of the skin is improved. However microdermabrasion works best if you attend a series of treatments so that the cells have the constant opportunity to renew and rejuvenate themselves. If you have acne scars or severe damage, you need a session every two to three weeks to achieve a smoother, healthier skin texture.

Before the advent of home microdermabrasion kits, microdermabrasion was always performed in an office. Each treatment usually took thirty minutes to an hour and cost about a hundred dollars. Now thankfully several cosmetic companies are putting out their own versions of this procedures which you can do yourself at home. This is a boon to busy and budget conscious women and men as most of these home dermabrasion kits only cost between 25 and 60 and contain several treatments in one kit. This allows you to turn your bathroom into a high efficiency salon that you can visit at your leisure to polish your skin. This type of home microdermabrasian kit is also ideal for the slightly shy teenager who would rather try to take care of his or her acne scars in private. Some microdermabrasian products promise results in about four weeks but of course this all depends on how often and how well you use the product.

Unlike the salons, these home microdermabrasian kits often contain creams or gels with small polishing granules. Some are thermogenic meaning the cream or gel heats up while it is on your face further stimulating your skin's circulation. Some kits also come with a battery operated skin polishers, which contain a slightly abrasive plastic pad to thoroughly scrub away dead skin cells and exfoliate the top layers of the skin.

Whether you are getting microdeermabrasion in a salon or using a home microdermabrasion kit it is quite common for the skin to suffer from some irritation and redness immediately after the treatment. This is due to the exfoliation of the skin, which eventually leads to the birth of new skin cells. These new skin cells will cause wrinkled skin to look plumper, dull skin to look more vibrant and skin with acne scars to appear less pitted. If you do suffer from mild skin irritation after a treatment then usually a mild anti-inflammatory painkiller such as Advil does the trick for relieving the discomfort.

For maximum results you should also avoid wearing make up for a few days after a treatment so that you don't hamper the renewal and healing of your newly abraded skin in any way.

If you have acne and are planning to use a home microdermabrasion kit you should be aware that these kits are not recommended to use in conjunction with Accutane, nor should you attempt microdermabrasion on your face if you have taken Accutane in the past six months. Skin that has been exposed to accutane is naturally thinner and redder and there is greater risk of injury if you abrade your skin in any way while you are taking this drug.

As microdermabrasion only removes the top superficial layers of the skin it is considered to be quite safe. Due to the fact that skin cells regenerate quickly any redness that does occur on your skin after using a microdermabrasion kit should clear up within an hour or two. Used correctly a microdermabrasion kit can save you the money you would normally spend repeatedly visiting a dermatologist, cosmetologist or plastic surgeon to get your skin resurfaced. However keep in mind that you will still need to do several treatments at home to achieve the same results that you would visiting a salon for several microdermabrasion sessions.

As we get on in years, who isn't trying to stay young, to hold the line on aging? And where do we see our age and fret our age more, than in our skin? I'd like to share with you some general anti aging skin care treatment that will keep your skin young and healthy, and recommend some natural anti aging skin products that make a big difference as well.

The health of our skin reflects many factors. Some we can't control, but others we can and should. Heredity and environment, for example, might be working against you. But you're not going to leave the city just to get clean, dewy skin. And if a certain swarthiness is in your genes, there's not much you can do about it. But let's look at the anti aging skin care that you CAN do - and there's a lot - to bring your skin to a whole new level.

Water - Water - yes water - is your best anti aging medicine. You need to drink at least 8 full glasses of spring or well water daily. Your body is 75% water, and your skin is a moist, elastic medium that needs to be kept hydrated naturally - from within. Your skin's thirst for this inner hydration can't be satisfied by just rubbing in creams or lotions on the outside. You need to follow this first commandment of skin care if you want to get the super benefits that anti aging creams and other products also offer.

Natural Creams - Many anti aging creams - even the most expensive ones - have a base of mineral oil, and are loaded with artificial preservatives and coloring. Just look at the labels. You need bifocals and a lab coat just to read them! Need I say more? I get many compliments on my soft skin, and always the same question: what do you use on it? First I tell people about water, lots of fresh air and exercise, and moderate exposure to sunlight. Then I get down to specific anti aging solutions.

Real Aloe Vera - Lots of products boast that they contain aloe vera - so why do we think we can improve upon nature? I go right to the source, and keep an aloe vera plant growing in my bathroom. It's a pretty plant, it's easy to care for, and you just cut off a section of leaf and out gushes the wonderful fresh gel. My friends and nursing colleagues all report the same excitement the first time they rub in a gel directly from their plants. And they report that it's the best anti aging product they've ever used - and one that you just can't get from a store-bought jar or tube.

Aloe vera is truly potent. It's filled with moisture, protein, vitamins and minerals - antiaging nutrients that give your skin deep, thorough hydration. Cleopatra is known to have used aloe vera on her skin, and if you overlook her little snake bite, you must admit: she was quite a success story!

Olive Oil - When my skin is very dry I also apply olive oil, and use olive oil soap over my entire body. In fact, such were the excellent results I got from olive oil, that I created my own anti aging personal care cosmetic - a soap which is 90% olive oil, and smooth beyond belief. (Aloe vera, oddly enough, can sometimes create a superficial drying effect, which olive oil quickly smoothes out.) Besides anti aging effects, aloe vera adds proteins, minerals and water to your skin.

Application of Creams - I always tell friends not to rub in their oils and creams in a bored hum-drum way. You need to really massage it in, giving yourself pleasure and stimulating your circulation. Indeed - it's best to make all your health practices emotional. It's this zest that makes the magic connection between body, mind, heart and soul. So - when we're working to make ourselves younger and prettier, please ladies - let's make it an anti aging exercise - not act as if we're ironing socks!

Natural Progesterone Cream - We mention this last, but definitely not least, for it is really the Queen of anti aging products. This all-natural cream suffuses your body with progesterone, the anti aging hormone that turns girls into women and gives that beautiful glow to pregnant women. A natural progesterone hormone cream, such as Prosperine, delivers the right dosage of progesterone derived from the Mexican wild yam. Besides providing a protective quality against breast cancer, it wonderfully tones your skin and retards the aging process. As with drinking water, this is an approach that works from the inside out - the right way, the natural way.

Warmly, Pieternel

There are different varieties of face packs to keep you and your face healthy and young. These facial packs contain many healthful and beneficial substances and necessary vitamins that are necessary to keep your face skin glowing. These facial packs foster skin by improving its color and by cleaning and reducing interstice. Facial packs improve the blood circulation within the veins of the face. These facial packs are easy to use and you can take care of your face and neck well, at home.

The effect of any facial pack on face is only temporary, so it is a must to use face pack 2 to 3 time in a week time. A mix of face pack is needed to be prepared, just before it is required to use. A face pack is applicable only on clean skin and that too without any cosmetics on skin. Before applying facial you will need to take steam bath with chamomile, lime, sage, and peppermint.

If you have dry skin, take 5 to 10 minutes steam bath, atleast once in every two months. If you have oily skin, take steam bath about 15 minutes atleast twice in a month.

You can replace steam bath by warm compresses. In warm compress, a bath towel is moistened with extracts of different herbs and flowers. Then this moist towel is pushed on the face and neck gently and kept in contact until it turns cold.

There is a need of different face packs for different type of skins. If you have dry skin, use the extract of mint, petals of rose, jasmine, chamomile, lime, leaves of raspberry, strawberry and black current.

If you are dry skinned, your face pack will be a mix of nettle, plantain, coltsfoot, calendula, aloe, St. John's wart, eucalyptus, birch buds and milfoil.

No matter, what type of skin you have, you will need to apply the pack in the whole face and neck bottom up. Do not apply the face pack around your eyelids. After applying the face pack lie down and allow the pack to set for about 15 to 20 minutes. Use only low-neck pillow, so that your face do not elevate too much.

To remove the face pack, especially off fat skin, soften the water with boric acid and use lemon juice to acidify it. You also can use juices of orange, cranberries or red current etc for acidification. Take wads of cotton, dip it into acidified water and then use it to remove your face pack. If you have normal skin type, you can use herbal extracts, tea, milk, etc to remove your face pack.

You are strongly advised to not overdone your face pack, especially when it turns into a solid pellicle. Do not put face pack on your face for more than 15 to 20 minutes, otherwise it will cause strain and tiredness.

Use of face packs varies according to climate, skin type and age also. Face packs may be of different type, for example face pack made of fruits or sour cream and cream etc.

No matter what type of face you have, the use of face pack will make your face skin shiny and glowing.

Know Your Skin Type

First of all it's important to know you're skin type so that you can select skin care products to suit you. Do you have normal skin, dry skin, dehydrated skin, oily skin, mature skin, or sensitive skin?

Dry or Very Dry Skin

Products with a high cream and oil content are beneficial. Avoid using soap and detergent based products on the face and neck as these can be drying. Oil-based face masks are soothing and hydrating fro dry skin.

Dehydrated Skin

Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, aim for 2 litres per day.

Oily Skin

Cleansing and moisturising milks or lotions have a higher water content and a lighter consistency and are less likely to cause congestion. Be careful not to over exfoliate the skin as this can stimulate increased production of oil.

Combination Skin

Treat the different areas of the face with products specific to their needs. For example light formulation in the oilier T Zone area and richer creamier products in the dry areas. The skin will benefit from a hydrating mask on the cheeks and a deep cleansing mask on the forehead, nose and chin.

Mature Skin Care

As with dry skin choose richer creamier oil based products. Skin may be thin or have broken capillaries so it should always be treated with great care and very little pressure. Firming and anti ageing products are highly beneficial, as are specific neck and eye care products.

Sensitive Skin Tips

Not only is sensitive skin more likely to react to product ingredients, but also the damaging effects of the sun can be felt more easily. It is advisable to use an SPF of 50. A gentle peeling product that doesn't contain granules is gentler on the skin than an exfoliating scrub.

Now that we've looked at different skin types, what kind of facial therapy products are out there and what can they do for your skin?

Facial Cleanser

These remove make up leaving skin clean and free from impurities. Some cleansers are gentle enough to be used on the eye area but if you wear waterproof mascara you will require a specific eye makeup remover.

Toning Lotion

These remove traces of cleanser, refreshes the skin and has a temporary tightening effect upon the pores. Refreshes the skin and helps to restore the skin's PH.

Moisturiser

Often described as day creams or hydrating lotions, they nourish the skin to leave it soft and smooth. Oil and water emulsions attract water to the skin and prevent moisture loss by evaporation. Moisturiser should be applied to the skin after cleansing and toning. Some moisturising creams and lotions contain SPF and help protect the skin against environmental damage. Not only do moisturisers hydrate and condition the skin, they provide an excellent base for makeup application.

Eye creams

Eye Creams are specially designed to moisturise and protect the delicate skin around the eye. They often contain collagen, oils and vitamins and some contain light diffusing particles to help draw attention away from dark circles beneath the eyes.

Neck Creams

Neck moisturising and firming creams are more hydrating than ordinary moisturisers. In our 20s and 30s our usual moisturiser is usually sufficient to nourish the neck and dcolletage, but by our 40s and beyond the neck often requires more intense hydration. The added benefits of collagen and elastin are believed to help prevent sagging and ageing thus maintaining a youthful appearance.

Exfoliation

Exfoliating products are creams or gels that contain small particles which gently scrub the skin to remove dead skin from the surface revealing fresh, new skin beneath. By loosening surface blockages they help improve and prevent breakouts and give a healthy glow to previously tired looking complexions. Exfoliators are a great way to even out a fading tan.

Face Masks

There are a variety of different formulations of face mask available that perform different actions. Facial masks are a relaxing and therapeutic part of a skin care routine. They increase circulation and improve the overall colour of the skin.

A deep cleansing mask removes traces of trapped dirt, debris and oil. They're mildly exfoliating. Dry flaky areas of skin are replaced with soft, smooth skin. Toning and refining masks soothe tired skin. Skin is freshened and revitalised and pores appear smaller leaving a more refined complexion. Nourishing and hydrating masks contain soothing moisturising ingredients which hydrate the skin leaving it soft and smooth. They also soothe tired looking skin.

Sun screens and sun blocks

A facial sunscreen is an essential all year round beauty aid. Choose one with an SPF of at least 15. Even on dull days the suns rays penetrate the atmosphere and the damaging effects upon the skin accumulate gradually resulting in pigmentation and premature ageing. In more extreme circumstances, this can lead to sunburn and permanent scarring.

When you are dealing with dry skin, finding the right dry skin remedy becomes vitally important. Luckily, there are a wide variety of different home remedies for you to choose from when it comes to remedying dry skin. The following is a brief selection of some of the options you have available for you in terms of dry skin remedies. If you want to get the most out of your skin care regimen, then you need to be willing to combine different dry skin remedies until you find the combination that is driving the best possible results.

- * Determine whether or not hydration issues are playing a role in your dry skin issues. If you are dehydrated, then you are going to have problems relating to dry skin as well. If you are not dehydrated but you are dealing with dry skin, then drinking more water is not likely going to help you. If you're not already drinking between 7 and 8 glasses of water a day, now is the time to start.

- * If your skin is dehydrated, then one of the most natural dry skin remedies is to soak your skin in water. You can soak your skin in lukewarm water for a period of fifteen minutes. Avoid hot water, and stay toward the room-temperature end of things. You should not be doing this every day however as the rule of thumb about soaking your body is to bathe less and use water that is cooler in order to remedy dry skin.

- * Another home skin care remedy for dry skin is to follow every bath by applying moisturizer in order to lubricate your skin properly. The moisture that you soak into your skin tends to evaporate. If you bathe a lot, then using a moisturizing product is going to be even more important because the moisturizing product is going to help you keep the water in.

The reason for applying a moisturizer product is not simply to put oils back into the skin. Instead, you should understand that dryness on the skin is a function of loss of water rather than necessarily loss of oil. Think about how much easier it is to exfoliate or cut your fingernails or toenails following a bath. This is an excellent example of what happens to your skin when you've bathed. When you apply a moisturizer after you take a bath, you can keep the water in your skin rather than letting it evaporate, and this will prevent skin dryness.

Combining these and other dry skin remedies is the best way to overcome your dry skin. Returning your skin to its former health and beauty will take work, but it'll be worth the effort in the end when your skin is properly healthy and nourished and looking beautiful and looking young. Keep the aforementioned tips in mind and you can and will achieve better, healthier and better nourished skin.
