Why Are Apple Products So Expensive?

Apple product prices, why are they so high, and why are people willing to pay those prices? That's kind of what we're gonna be talking about today Not just about the iPhone but Apple products in general because obviously with the new iPhones coming out they are extraordinarily Priced but people are still buying them more than ever now I should point out that this video is not going to be a conclusion Like Oh, Apple prices should be this or they shouldn't be this high I'm basically in a play devil's advocate and say why Apple? possibly is able to charge these prices and Why it even works out for them when other companies probably wouldn't be able to get away with it So it's not like this video is just gonna be a big circle. Jerk like all Apple sucks or Oh apples the best No, we're gonna kind of just take an objective look at it and you can decide for yourself now, First of all, I think we can obviously start off by saying yes some of it absolutely is just because of an Apple premium their price gouging some of it just because they can and they know people will buy it and some proof of this is Just look at the new iPhones how they do not come with the Lightning - 3.5-millimeter dongle It's how much could that thing possibly cost and they don't include it in a thousand-dollar phone like you've got to be kidding me that Absolutely. It's just penny-pinching and price gouging especially considering that that dongle is apparently one of the most popular products sold at the Apple stores because people want so many of them and yet they don't include it in the product that they know people are gonna want so that's just kind of BS.

I don't like that and absolutely, some of that price is because of gouging, however, There are actually other legitimate reasons why Apple might have higher costs for products specifically because Apple has to design all of their hardware in-house basically especially the processor so they have the a12 bionic now and So they had to design that and then hire a company to make that processor. Whereas most Android phones Just go to whatever Qualcomm has come up with latest and Qualcomm makes the processors and then the Android Manufacturers buys it off then they don't have to design anything and spend that much on research and not just hardware though But also software because Apple has to write their entire operating system in-house and specifically for that hardware Whereas most manufacturers besides Google can just use whatever Android is using because Google writes Android and then yes They might do their own little customization and create their own skins but for the most part Androids already pre-built and they just kind of have to slap it into their phones and then they're done Whereas Apple has to do everything from scratch for themselves. So obviously some of the prices is just Hardline objective production costs that are gonna raise the price no matter what but a lot of it also Like I said before can come down to what people are willing to pay for its supply and demand so we can kind of look at why people Are willing to pay that much and the more subjective? Features that go into it and that's definitely another factor as well The first reason I would say is that Apple tends to not cut corners Yeah, they make some dumbest decisions that people might not like taking out the headphone jack I don't think anyone likes that But what they do put into the phone they tend to do it very well So they don't cheap out on anything at least and kind of going back to the software.

The software in iOS is really rock-solid I mean it's so stable compared to Android now Android definitely is getting a lot better but iOS has always been like a just Gold standard of what a good mobile operating system is it's very simple to use people find it very easy to use Yes, it is. Absolutely more restrictive, but apparently people are willing to pay for that Anyway, a lot of people don't want complicated at all. They're willing to Forego a lot of features that Android might have on top of the iPhone But it's possible that they might not have ever used those features in Android anyway so they would rather have fewer features that just work better and obviously I'm very Generalizing when I'm talking about this kind of thing Android has improved greatly and it is pretty solid But really it's still nothing compared to iOS. You just cannot argue that Android is more stable than iOS another big factor for why people are willing to pay. Yes, iPhones are stylish Just a fact of life people think that iPhones are cooler than Android. So that's another big thing whether it's right or not but again We're not just talking about iPhones and iOS here also for their laptops and the Apple watch It's kind of the same thing with the hardware. It's all Produced in-house and Mac OS is pretty much understood to be a lot more stable than Windows Everyone knows well way back that max didn't get viruses That's not really the truth anymore but max or a lot easier to use than Windows I don't think anyone would argue that they're more difficult to use than Windows and they are much more stable I think everyone understands that also when it comes to the Apple ecosystem Everything works together.

So if you have a MacBook and an iPhone a lot of that stuff works together very easily So for example iMessage You can use a lot more features the iMessage than Android which just uses SMS at the moment For example, you can embed rich stuff into iMessage And if the other person has an iMessage or iPhone rather they can get a lot more features You can send them like stickers and stuff and it just works better than SMS So you really cannot ever say that SMS is better than iMessage It just is better and another big thing why people are willing to pay this much is because they're not actually paying this much They're usually going to be doing some sort of deal with their carrier They pay a monthly fee and then every two years they get a new phone or if they're doing the iPhone upgrade Program they pay monthly and then they trade in their phone for the new one So a small percentage of people are actually paying this full price So you say oh it's a thousand-dollar phone who's gonna pay a thousand dollars. Well, no one really There is some people like people who want to do video reviews on YouTube But average people are not going to be buying a new phone every year for example And they're gonna just be using the deal every couple years with their carrier But of course we can also keep in mind that this is gonna be the same thing with Android phones So people are not gonna be paying full price for Android phones either.

So I'm not saying that that's why iPhones are more expensive It's just why phones, in general, can get away with higher prices because people are generally not paying for the full upfront Although when it does come to like Mac books and stuff. Yes, they are probably gonna have to pay the full price specifically just for phones now the next big thing why I think someone might be able to justify a higher price on an iPhone is because Apple tends to support their products a lot longer than Android phones Do I mean the latest version of iPhone or iOS 12? Supports phones way back to the iPhone 5s. That's what a 2013 phone and yet the latest version of iOS supports it. I mean, that's crazy. You have an Android phone even Google's flagship Pixel phones only support what two years of updates so it's pretty crazy that these flagship phones on the other side are charging almost just as much and yet they're Expecting people to have to upgrade every other year where I know that a lot of people don't want to upgrade their phones every other year, they might keep it for three or four years or more also talking about updates one advantage of iOS Is that when you're on any of these phones that are supported you can get that upgrade? Right away update to the latest version. Whereas on Android there are so many manufacturers. They have all their different flavors of Android That's customized so even if Google releases a stock Android version Then you might not be able to upgrade it on your Huawei phone or your Samsung phone until Samsung releases their version of that Android OS which might be months or Even as a year down the line if they support it at all so with iPhone you know that if you have a Reasonably recent version of the iPhone that you're gonna be able to get the latest update Instantly as soon as you want for as long as that phone support which will be a while whereas even with flagship phones on Android Samsung you have to wait several months and that's again lucky if they even Release it at all. Sometimes. They don't do two years down line. Now. This next one isn't really something that Apple does it's just kind of like a consequence of the way that iPhone Ecosystem is and that is that apps, in general, are going to be developed first for iPhone and that's simply because it's much easier for developers to develop on iPhone for several reasons First of all, there are a lot fewer iPhones to deal with and support then there are for Android phones There are hundreds of Android phones over the years.

Whereas what? How many iPhones are there 12 like a dozen maybe? so if you're gonna be developing an app You might only have to test on a handful of iPhones compared to making sure it works on every possible Android phone So that's going to include different resolutions different amounts of RAM different DP eyes on the screen different screen sizes all so many factors that are going to be Incredibly more variety on the Android side. That's tougher to test whereas an iPhone You could pretty much figure out if it's gonna work right away and because I've is, in general, is more stable It might be easier to develop on that as well Another advantage of iOS at least is that the app store on iPhone is much more restrictive and secure than the Google Play Store I don't think anyone you argue against this Yes, there's a lot more variety and it's easier to get apps up on to the Google Play Store Whereas Apple is very restrictive, but that's kind of like a two-edged sword because with the App Store on an iOS You know that there's it's very little chance that you're gonna download something That's like a scam or a virus whereas on Google Play Store they don't really scan or vet or review anything that goes out there anyone can put something up there whether it's a Virus you hear all the time about literal viruses going up in the Google Play Store. Google has their Scanning thing, but it's like look if you can't even figure out it's a virus when it's going up It's not going to scan and find anything when it's already installed so the fact that Apple heavily Reviews, or at least more heavily reviews any apps going up that is I think an advantage and the final thing I'm going to talk about is I think that Apple products are much more privacy Oriented than Android we know that Google is a data company.

That's where they make most of their money through ads They don't make much money from selling products Apple does so Google they want to collect as much money and information that they can sell as they can whereas Apple has a very very good track record of Not letting law enforcement hack their phones and not giving up data to companies that want to sell ads. I mean, we know that Apple announced their safari browser is going to prevent fingerprinting So even if they block cookies, it's gonna block things like tracking of fonts. So a lot of Advertisers will do that where even if you they can't see a cookie of you They can still identify you just by the browser resolution the fonts you have installed all that sort of stuff Apple does not allow that another thing they did recently was protect the USB port because law enforcement They came up with this device that you plug in and then it tries basically all the pass codes Whereas they made it, so that will not work anymore Physically disables the USB port after the phone's been locked for like an hour So they really have been trying hard to make sure that your phone is protected From other people and then you even look at something like iMessage, which is encrypted end-to-end Whereas that cannot be said with SMS on any other Android phones or any other phone at all so obviously if you're gonna be sending a Android phone a message from an iPhone that's not encrypted But if you're sending between iPhones you get that blue text it is encrypted So again in the end, I don't want to say that Apple products are better than other products I'm just saying that these are why They might be more expensive and why people are willing more to pay for that higher price than Android phones or other devices So I think that's it. GoPro Max review: The most accessible 360 camera

This is the GoPro MAX. And it's GoPro's second attempt at a consumer level, 360 camera. (upbeat music) (camera whirring) Last year, Insta360came out with the One X, and it totally revolutionized the idea of what a 360 camera could be used for. First off, footage shot with the One X was stitched in-camera, and then you were able to edit it right on your phone and upload to social platforms almost instantly. Secondly, they market it not as a 360-degree camera but instead a camera that could shoot 360 degrees of possible angles. Now fast forward a year and we have the GoPro Max, which is the successor to the GoPro Fusion that came out in 2017, that was filled with all of the headaches of 360's past. It required two memory cards. You had to stitch the footage on a desktop. But they overhauled all of that with the Max, and they in turn made areally accessible 360 camera, which makes me believe I might continue to actually use this thing. This is the widest angle GoPro's made This is the wide The GoPro MAX has dual 180-degree lenses that shoot 16.6-megapixel,360-degree photos, 5.5-megapixel single lens, or GoPro is calling Max SuperView photos, and the super cool 6.2-megapixel panoramic photos called PowerPanos. Video-wise, you have 1440p60video with a single lens and 5.6K30 spherical video, just like the Insta360. There are mics on all but one side and it shows the same super satisfying rubber buttons and button layout as the Hero8. On the bottom, you have these new stowable mounting prongs, which alas, you no longer need that housing, which I somehow always manage to forget anyways, and it also makes it compatible with all GoPro mounts.

The touchscreen on the mix is a bit smaller than the touchscreen on the back of the Hero, but its menu system is identical. The big plus here is if you're logging or taking a selfie, you can see yourself much like on the DJI Osmo Action because, well, there senses on both sides. The Max is waterproof up to 16 feet. But that proofing is merely for protection at this point. GoPro claims that it's really difficult to stitch underwater footage, but they are promising some sort of waterproof housing in the future. The screen is super responsive, but you can't scroll around your frame in 360 modes since the screen has swiping gestures such as swiping down to reach the main menu. You can however switch between lenses but only while not recording. Once you hit that record button, the screen has no functionality other than just being a viewfinder to the lens that you chose before rolling. The image on the screen will however stay level with the horizon no matter which way you turn the camera. And it does so with almost no noticeable lag.

If you lean into that warped, super fisheye look that only a 360 camera could give you, the footage is sick. Skin tones are true to life and it's not afraid to overexpose the highlights of it. I prefer this to the flatter color grade of the One X, especially for users who won't be color correcting. And how even if you are color correcting, I find that Max and theOne X have very little latitude in the coloring process. Now, if you're only gonna be showing these photos on social platforms that you're gonna look at on a phone, who cares, but for a camera that costs $500, I hope it's going a little further than that. (laughs). Max's 360° video is stabilized in software. It bobs up and down as you'd expect from walking and it can be really jittery, especially at night. The stitching is most noticeable at the top and the bottom of the frame. And since most of GoPro's mounts typically have a wider base than the camera itself, there's almost always a bit of artifact from the mount in the footage. Over-all though, once you export the 360-degree footage, the stitch is pretty clean. The audio, however, is probably the best I've seen on a camera this size. The wind reduction can add a lot of compressions, and enough wind can sound like, well this, (wind blowing) Guys, when I say it's windy out, it's like actually very windy out. I am about to blow over. This might make some really good footage as I fly away. But when you're not in25-mile an hour wind, it actually reduces the sound of wind while prioritizing voices. So while hiking with Alex, I love that the GoPro picked up on the crickets and footsteps, while also keeping our voices at the forefront no matter where the camera was in space. Yeah, and I think its gonna be a long, long time And then there are those PowerPano photos.

I gotta be honest guys, I had a tough time not showing you these photos before this video dropped. I mean first and foremost, they make taking a panoramic photo a lot easier. And you don't have to stand there and slowly and robotically move your phone across the landscape. I was really surprised at how crisp these photos turned out to. Even on a desktop, they still look really cool. The time warp feature in 360 mode, which is when the Max just records the time lapse, is really cool, but it's total battery killer. I saw my battery drop15% off a fresh charge while shooting this time warp. And I let it record for all of 10 minutes. I think it would help if the screen would go off a bit sooner while shooting these to save some battery. Otherwise, the battery performance is on par with the Hero8. Even though it is a different battery. So yes, you will need to buy extra spares if you plan on heavy use. I was able to get through a full day of heavy use using two of these batteries. 360 cameras are only accessible though if you can do something with the footage. So the software has to be sound, and GoPro's app makes it really easy to edit this footage. Max uses the same GoPro app as the Heroes. Now, I'm no stranger to keyframes, but I think even a casual non-video director from the verge.com could edit Max's 360 footage. And I actually enjoyed editing it on the app. GoPro also has a 360 desktop app called GoPro Player, which mirrors the mobile app experience with added codec options at export. You have H.264, ProRes, HUVC, and as far as 360 editing goes, I was blown away by its ease. Okay so there's this whole other mode on the Max called Hero mode. And it's basically just when the camera's using one lens as opposed to two.

It has more mic controls and it even boasts GoPro's most stable video called Max HyperSmooth. And it also has the widest field of view called Max SuperView. But I gotta be honest, while it does sound good and the footage is stable, the fact that it maxes out at 1440p60 is noticeable. Especially in how much smoothing is being done when the subject is close to the camera. I also noticed the camera struggled to keep the footage level with the horizon, choosing to instead focus on keeping the footage stable. So when climbing down this trail, which to be fair, is a slanted surface, the horizon kept tilting further and further from level to almost a dizzying point. GoPro has become a household name. I mean they're specced out, durable, tiny, portable beasts of cameras. And Max is no different. And while Max has great features such as PowerPano, it also has great hardware and a really good touch screen. But for me, it came down to the ease of use of the app that made me wanna keep using this thing. 360 footage used to mean high-end equipment and tons of headaches and post, and that always pushed me away from using it.

But when you put all of that into the form factor of a GoPro, a workflow I've been using for years, it's way more approachable. Now, is all of that enough to make this thing more than a novelty camera that will ultimately end up in my forgotten type bed in my basement? Time will truly tell. But it is the most fun and user-friendly 360 camera I have used today. And I'm excited to see this thing as specced out. (coughing) 4K Hero mode? (coughing) Please? All right, so for 499, you can pre-order a Max today. They start shipping on October 24th and will be on shelves on October 27th. The 360 space is getting kinda nuts and the One X versus the Maxdeserves its whole own videos, so I guess I'll see you guys next time.

To access it, long-press an empty portion of the house screen, then choose "Widgets." Apple Watch Series 4 - 1.5 Years Later

hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech andmany of you have been asking for a long-term review of my series for Applewatch and as recent as a previous video where I did the iPhone 11 Pro max sixmonths later people were asking again for a long-term review of this seriesfor watch now I don't use the series 5 watch I did review it I had the titaniumversion I decided that wasn't worth keeping because I prefer this one for acouple of reasons one of them is the series 4 doesn't have an always-ondisplay and the always-on display sounds nice but it drains so much battery thatit rarely got me through a day or maybe it would get me through a day on this Ieasily get through a day and a half or two days without a problem and that'sbecause the display is not on all the time and I don't usually look at thedisplay when it's down so you have to pick it up turn the display on then it'son and I just find that that seems to be the better way for me also the series 5the only other advantage of ads is a compass and that's built into the iPhoneshould I ever need a compass aside from GPS it's in the iPhone so I don't reallyneed it I don't separate the two enough to justify that so I kept the series 4and this is my main watch now Apple does not sell the series for Apple watch theysell a refurbished version or you can buy it on places like Amazon and thingslike that and this is still around five hundred and $89 refurbished for thestainless steel and sapphire version that's what this one is and it's prettyheavy because it's steel all the way around and sapphire on the display itmakes it a little bit more expensive and it's also the cellular version so thecellular version is actually something I don't have activated

so I probablyshould have just bought the Wi-Fi version but I don't use the cellularpart I don't find it worth paying an extra $10 a month or so for something Idon't really use so this is what I've been using lately and let me unlock itfor you here now my series for Apple watch has held up incredibly well it'sstainless steel like I mentioned so I have no scuffs or scratches on it now ifI had the regular stainless steel I had the first generation Apple watch instainless steel that had scuffs and scratches all over the aluminum framebecause this is the anodized black aluminum or black stainless steelwhatever the coating is on it rather it's held up reallyI don't have any scratches on it and the display has zero scratches on it becauseit's sapphire so the Sapphire display may not live up to some people'sstandards of sapphire but it's held up well enough to prevent any scratches at all and it's been knock against everything from block dividers to typical entryway sticks that are steel and actually the main thing that will scratch sapphire either sapphire or precious stone so something on that level of hardness so this isheld up incredibly well now battery life after a year and a half is pretty muchthe same now there's no way to measure battery health but I took this off thecharger sometime this morning I'm at 86% I can easily get through a couple dayswith this usually with no problem with the exception of sometimes when it'susing the decibel meter a lot

so I have that on the display to show me the actual volume in the room you can see it's measuring how many decibels I'mspeaking at and it's somewhere around 60 to 70 and this is always running so if Iwanted to conserve battery I could do that by switching to a different facewhich isn't a problem to switch the one that's not using that all the time and you'll conserve some power so if that's ever a concern I can switch but usuallyit gets me through at least a day and a half no problem whatsoever and then Ijust continue using it and one of the nice things about Apple watch is witheven watch OS 6.2 the latest version at least that's on this it's still super fast just like the day I got it it's fast everything loads quickly and if Iwant to go into heart or ECG it just opens right up you'll see it's measuringit's not going to measure accurately because it's on my finger but you've got all of those different options and of course things like the camera.

I can openthis up it opens on my iPhone over here so if I want to take a remote picture Ican do that just hit the button and take a picture and it's got that option andeverything just works really fast without a problem so in general this isstill just as fast as a series five Apple watch for the most part there'snot really any differences so I would highly recommend one if you can find onefor a reasonable price now of course you can get a series 5 for basically thisprice of the stainless steel series 4 so it really just depends on what you wantto do but as far as the battery lasting over time well if it gets really bad Icould bring it to Apple but it still lasts without a problem a yearand a half later and I would expect the battery to continue to last maybeanother couple of years or a year or more without degrading significantly tothe point where it needs to be replaced now as far as using it for workouts andmusic well I don't really use it for any of those things so I do use it foractivities and notifications in fact notifications is probably what I use itfor the most but you can see here's monthly challenges and things and Aprilchallenge I earned that in 2018 so I don't use this a whole lot I don't keeptrack of rings or anything like that I use it more for notifications when I'mtalking to people either on Twitter or on YouTube and things like that and thenI use it for weather and the UV index I really don't use it for anything elseother than for reminders and to just notify me of things so the activityrings I definitely should use more and probably will in the future but rightnow I don't use it a ton but I should give it more of a chance as far as thatgoes but in general I think it's super fast it's great for whatever you needand maybe I should try some of the features more but I find my phone is what

I use primarily and this is secondary so I know some people have itthe other way around it just depends on what you do now the other thing is ithas held up well underwater I've gone swimming with itfrom time to time and it just works fine I've had no problems with it whatsoeveryou can shower with these they're waterproof unlike the iPhone that'swater-resistant these you can take in the water all the time all of the catches work fine the receivers the speakers they're all working simply like you would expect and the entirety of the sensors and everything else I've had no issues with it and I wear it just about every day occasionally maybe on the weekends Iwon't but every day when I'm doing videos you often see me wearing thiswatch and that's what I use that's it for my series for Apple watch if you'dlike to know anything more about it or there's something I didn't answer let meknow in the comments below and I'll try to answer it and also if you'd like toget your hands on one of these watchbands I'll link them in thedescription below so you can check them out for yourself and hopefully I canfind a good price on one of these watches for you as well but I'll linkall of that in the description and if you'd like to get your hands on thewallpaper on the iPhone I'll link that as well if you haven't subscribedalready please subscribe and if you enjoyed the video please give it a likeas always thanks for watching this is AaronI'll see you next time

Official iPhone Cases & Apple Watch Bands - Summer 2020

hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech andApple released their summer 2020 cases for iPhone and that includes iPhone 11iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max and so I have two of the three colors here Iactually ordered all three but one of them did not show up in time so we havethree different colors the first one is called vitamin C the next one is calledlinen blue and then the other one is called seafoam which I also have theApple watch band to match an Apple releasedApple watch bands as well and those come out in four different colors so we havethe seafoam that I showed you already then linen blue again we have thevitamin C color as well as coastal gray which I don't have and so these are allthe four different colors that are available the cases come in at $39 andthe watch bands come in at $49 and these are to replace the spring colors that Ihave here so I did a separate video on these when they were released these areno longer being sold as new anyway these were for spring 2020 so now we have thesummer colors so let's go ahead and take a look at them we'll open them upthey're just silicone cases like you would expect and as you can see here itsays vitamin C so this one is for the iPhone 11 Pro it's a nice orange colorand it's a little bit different than the ones we've seen before but it should gonicely with an iPhone 11 pro so if we put this in place now with the midnightgreen on the back it's going to look a little bit different but you get theidea here so let me set this one aside and we'll take a closer look at thelinen blue as you can see here so let's go ahead and open this one up and if youhaven't seen the Apple silicon cases or silicone cases what you have is justsilicone on the outside it doesn't stick in your pocket too much so it's notsuper grippy but it's nice you've got a covered power button hereand then you've got the same for your volume buttons and then an opening foryour silent switch the bottom is open and then you have a nice microfibercloth lining and it's very flexible now if we put the iPhone 11 Pro Max in place

I have my Space Gray one here you'll see it fits in there nicely itlook pretty good and it protects it reallywell except for the bottom so some people are concerned when this isleaving the bottom exposed it shouldn't really be a problem but some people maybe concerned about it you also have good lay on the table protection on the sideso you have a little bit of a lip here so you can just set it down if you don'thave a screen protector on and it will keep it protected now of course thismatches the watchbands we'll take a look at that in just a moment but you havegood access to your buttons so it's easy to press it does make it a little bitmore difficult to press than if it wasn't on the same is true of yourvolume buttons and your silent switch you can get in here no problem though insilence the phone so you've got a nice opening for your cameras and it does sitjust above the cameras so it keeps them protected as well now let's take a lookat the watch bands as well so this one is the same one linen blue open it uphere so we'll take this out here like this and if we open it up you can seenow these are available for the 40 and 44 millimeter Apple watches and theycome with different sizes so if you have larger wrists like myself you have alonger strap and then a shorter one if you have a smaller strap so you've gotsmall/medium medium-large so that's how they come in then they have this littlestainless steel or aluminum piece here so let's go ahead and remove these andtake a closer look at them when

I place it on the watch we'll open the other one also and thenwe'll put them on the watch in just a moment now inside you also have this paper Ithink it's just a warranty paper or product safety information as you cansee here so nothing exciting let's take a look at this seafoam color as well andso it's sort of a light green with a little hint of blue in it maybe andlet's take this one out this is actually for a 40-millimeter watch so we'll takethis one out it will work on older watches as well I'll show you that in amoment now if you have some of the updates for the Apple watch you shouldbe able to go through and find a matching watch face before the colors sothis is actually the seafoam watch face and this is actually a third-generationApple watch in 38 millimeters so we'll actually place this one here but thisone here on the top and you can see it matches so that's nice we'll set thatone aside and then I'll take off the Nomad titanium watch band that I havehere and see what this other one looks like so we'll slide this in like that andit's clicked into place and then we can just put it on my wrist like this and itgoes into place just like that now it may be a little bit loose you cantighten it or loosen it sometimes I wish they had an in-between size but I'lljust leave it fairly loose for now so as you can see here it matches perfectlywith the case so that's pretty nice if you want to use both together and youhave these available in orange or anything else and then if you want toswitch between watch faces I've already set them to linen blue sowe have linen blue watch faces here on these different watch faces so you cansee them on gradient numerals duo numerals mono then just color and extralarge so you can have them set on any of them I think it looks pretty good withthe gradient and it matches really nice so it matches with the color of thewatch band and so I think it's a pretty nice update for the summer

watchOS 7 Beta 1 is Out! - What's New?

hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech andtoday Apple released watch OS 7 beta 1 to developers this is available to alldevelopers and you need a series three series four or series five Apple watchin order to install it those are the only watches it's available for and thisshould release to the public sometime in the fall around September or October nowyou'll need an iphone to install it and it was about a gigabyte in size and ifyou've not installed a watch OS beta before make sure that you really knowwhat you're getting into because you cannot downgrade by yourself youactually have to bring it to Apple they send it in and downgrade it for you andthen hand it back so just know that you actually should not install this unlessyou're aware of those risks now let's take a look at some of the new featuresand the build number so first let's take a look at the build number you'll seeit's pretty early we go to about and there's the build number there 18 arefive three one zero a and this particular update adds some nicefeatures and the first thing is actually battery health so if we go back so inthe settings if we scroll down to battery let's find it here there we gowe'll go to battery under battery you'll see the charge will go down tap onbattery health and you'll see this one is currently at 89% so just like allbatteries it degrades over time you've got optimized battery charging built inand it's nice that they've added this although there's no way to reallyreplace a battery on an Apple watch this is a series for Apple watch so it's acouple of years old at this point or a year and a half or so and it's doingwell but it will degrade and need a battery replacement eventually now Applehas added some new watch faces and you see the first one here if I press andhold you'll see this is chronograph Pro and it has a tachymeter tachometer on itand you can access it just tap on it like that so it's a nice new one go backhome here and we've also got an additional one here now this is theextra large version but it also adds complications so it's sort of new inthat you can change the complications now in addition to the new watch faceswe have some new complications so if we press and hold here we'll hit edit andlet me go back and you can see colors has been updated a little bit as wellso it looks a little bit different how we can scroll through it's just a littlebit nicer we can adjust this as far as time scale for the tachymeter tachometerand let's go to our complications and select a new one because we have a fewnew ones so if we go to see we'll start with that we have a camera remote sothat's been added we also can see moon phases so that's in here somewhere soyou've got moon for astronomy and then also we have short putts so if we godown to shortcuts you'll see there we go we have shortcuts for photo grid goodday Wi-Fi off and more so we can select all of those we also have sleep and I'lltalk more about that in a moment with sleep tracking and then we have worldclocks so if we go down here there's some world clocks so you'll see there'ssunset and sunrise New York City Cupertino and then you can adjust themas you'd like so we've got those new complications to add as well now asidefrom the new complications if we go over maybe we'll create a new watch face wehave the ability to add multiple complications from the same app from athird-party developer so maybe we want to customize one of these like this onehere maybe we would like this watch face the infograph modular will edit and thenwe'll go over to complications and maybe we want activity from an activity appbut we want a couple of them so you can you can see that we can add two activityapps or we could add something else and customize it for maybe a workout orsomething like that now once you've found a watch face that you like you nowhave the ability to share it so you can share it using the little share buttonhere and a contact and share your watch face they can share one with you and youshould be able to search them in the future when it comes to watch faces soif we slide over here we'll eventually be able to search them where they putthem I'm not sure maybe in theface gallery but you can look through a bunchof the ones you already have and you'll eventually be able to search some newones share them with your friends and that's a nice little addition now a newfeature is sleep tracking this was long rumored to be coming and if we go tosleep here see it'll take a moment to open and you have to set this up on theiPhone app in the health app first but you'll see we have sleep tracking fullschedule no recent sleep data and when you set it upfor the first time it will suggest things like shortcuts in the morningmaybe you want to turn them on so if we go over to the iPhone and then we go tohealth and health we'll wait for it to load and then we can go down to where wehave sleep now under sleep you'll see your schedule wakeup times get more fromhealth you can add data to it and even get sleep apps and you've got some otheroptions as well so you can plan out your sleep see how much sleep you're gettingor not getting and keep track of that if you'd like and you can use your watch toget more out of that by sleeping with your watch on now if you leave it on youcan have it set up for haptics and things to wake you up with audiblealarms or haptic alarms so if we go back here we go to settings we go to optionsfor sleep and it's turned on automatically and then we have it set upfor sleep tracking we have charging up reminders don't use this watch for sleepand so we've got other options for that so it's a nice little update for yourwatch now in addition to noise that was added last year they added noise healthso you've got this here of course but also on the health app again we alsowill have noise and you'll see noise notifications and this will work acrossyour headphones and everything else so it'll let you know if you're listeningto two loud environments or environments that are going to damage your hearingover time and it will tell you how it's going now of course you could turn thisoff if you'd like but they've added some additional features with it now asidefrom the Health they've updated the activity app and renamed it to fitnessand fitness now has some new workouts so if you want some new workout Stylesthey're available so we'll go over to our watch and take a look at thatnow if we go to the workout app we have some new ones now of course you'refamiliar probably with indoor cycling and all those things let's go down heresee if we can find some new ones so we've got functional strength trainingwe've also got dance we've got cooldown and core training sothose are four new workouts that have been added as well now they've updatedmaps with cycling directions and it can use your watch to let you know if youneed to climb some stairs or take other directionbut what they haven't done is add the cycling option yet so that will be addedeventually so maybe we look for a gas station I guess we'll go to this one andyou'll see down here we have cycling but it doesn't really work yet so it's therebut it doesn't allow you to use it but you will eventually have cyclingdirections now the final new feature has to do with something that's always beenimportant but seems to be in the forefront of everything right now andthat's hand washing so if we go to settings we go down to hand washing wecan now have a timer activate as soon as it detects we're washing our hands so ifyou start it'll start us 20 second timer and then let you know through the timerand through haptics whether or not you're washing your hands properly orfor long enough so let's try that out now the hand washing prompt should beautomatic by listening for water and your movements and you'll see that itdidn't actually activate it so that little hand washing experiment didn'tseem to work so well although I tried it multiple times it didn't really work butwhen I was setting up to record this video I accidentally activated it so itdoes need a little bit of work I expect they'll work out all the bugs beforeit's Apple iPhone 11 Pro - A Ruthless Review | iPhone 11 Pro Reviews

Welcome back everyone, I'm ThioJoe, and its once again time to review this year's iPhone. As you probably know, Apple created three models, the iPhone 11, the 11 Pro, and the 11 Pro Max. The one we're gonna be looking at today is the iPhone 11 Pro which I chose because I like the size of this one, I just think the Max would be too big. But it's not like this is going to be a comparison video or anything, we'll just be focusing on this phone. And as usual, I'm going to be doing a ruthless review, so I'm gonna tell you everything I love, what I hate, and everything in between with no sugar coating, especially considering the price tag. Before we jump in also be sure to follow me on Instagram I try to post cool stuff and hilarious jokes on there. So if you want to check that out it's just @ThioJoe over on Instagram. So what we'll do is start out with the basic design of the phone followed by the internal hardware, then onto performance with stuff like the camera and battery, then move onto the user experience and software features, and finally, I can talk about more general things I like and dislike about this phone. All right so the first up the general design, the screen is a 5.8" OLED screen Apple is calling the "Super Retina XDR display", and basically it's just a really good looking OLED screen that's even brighter than last year's XS.

There's still the notch for FaceID, which I will never think is not ugly, and the apple didn't even shrink it so that's a bummer. On the sides, you have what you'd expect, with the volume buttons, silent mode toggle, power button, and speakers on the bottom along with the lightning jack. Things get a bit more interesting on the back where there's now a matte finish to the whole thing, which I'm definitely a big fan of because it's way less likely to show fingerprints. The other big thing is obviously the triple-camera setup at the top, so there are the regular wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses, then the flash, and microphone next to them. We'll talk more about the cameras later but one thing I don't like is how there's basically a double camera bump here, so the whole module is elevated, and then each lens is also sticking out. I'm not a fan of camera bumps in general but I'd think this is even more likely to get dirt and dust stuck in the crevices. That being said, as a side note, the case I have extends to the camera bump so it sits flush on surfaces which I really like. It's the Spigen 'liquid crystal' case, I like it because it's thin and clear so the phone doesn't feel any bigger. It does tend to discolor over time though, but it's so cheap at like $10, you can just buy a new one when it does. If you want to check it out I'll put that link in the description for Amazon. That's the case I use. Besides the cameras though, and the now centered apple logo, the overall body shape, and design are pretty much the same as the last two generations of iPhones.

Talking a little bit more about the screen though I will say it's noticeably brighter, at least when it needs to be like in bright sunlight. It supposedly has 800 nits of typical max brightness which compares to the XS which was rated at just 625nits. And when I tested it with my own light meter, the 11 Pro was reading about 970 luvs the XS at 900 lux. That's a different unit from nits so it doesn't convert exactly, but it still shows that it is indeed brighter. As for how the screen looks generally, iPhone OLED screens are going to look great in any case, so I wouldn't say I notice any difference coming from the XS, but obviously it just looks good. And the resolution is 2436x1125at 458ppi, so which is the same as the XS. I am really disappointed though that they didn't add a high refresh rate screen, it DEFINITELY feels like they're holding that back which I hate, especially considering they've been offering the iPad "pro" with a higher refresh rate for a while now, and I think it would be a feature that a lot of people would immediately notice and love. So now we've seen the outside of the phone, let's talk about the internals. The CPU is Apple's own A13 Bionic, so no surprise it's just a new and improved CPU that's faster as you'd expect, and also appear more battery efficient. The battery capacity for the 11 pros isn't listed on Apple's website but is 3190 mAh. I'm really happy about this, because Apple has had a history of putting tiny batteries in their phones, and even though iPhones are way more energy-efficient, it was still a joke.

So this battery capacity is actually decent, and when combined with the great power efficiency for the phone, it's a big plus, though we'll talk more about battery life later. As for RAM, there's 4GB, which in my opinion isn't really enough considering Apple literally branded this as a "pro" device, and apparently the camera app uses a lot more memory than previously. I think 6 GB would have been more appropriate, but I'm not surprised Apple is again just putting in the minimum amount they can get away with here. And when it comes to storage capacity, the base model is still only 64GB, which for a so-called "pro" phone is kind of a joke. The next step up is 256GBwhich I think is more than enough, but does cost an extra $150, and the 512 GB model costs an extra $350 above the base model. I think if Apple made the base model 128 GB that would be perfect, but I'm not gonna even hold my breath for next year. As for the water resistance rating, I will give them props for improving that even further. It's still IP68 technically but they went beyond that rating so it can now survive being submerged in 4 meters of water for 30 minutes, as opposed to 2 meters of water. So theoretically it could survive being dropped into the deep end of most pools. Finally, for specs, we can go over the cameras. All of the cameras including the front-facing one are 12 megapixels. The three on the back are the regular wide-angle at f/1.8 aperture, the ultra-wide at f/2.4, and the telephoto at f/2.0. The front-facing camera is f/2.2 and is actually capable of capturing so motion video at 120fps, compared to the back cameras which can do 240fps. Alright so let's get into what it's like using the phone, just in general, and then we'll get into specifics like with the camera. Overall, there are really no surprises, it's a top-end iPhone, so it does not lag or stutter at all. Apps open really quickly as you'd expect, so it pretty much performs flawlessly just like every recent new iPhone generation does when it's released. FaceID does feel a little bit faster at times I think, which makes sense, the whole phone is faster.

And while FaceID apparently can now capture from a wider angle, it must be very slight because I have not really noticed any difference in that regard. It's not like it can unlock when it's sitting on my desk even right in front of me when I'm looking at it. So yea, I still hate FaceID and want my fingerprint sensor back, but I doubt that's going to happen. Now one feature that you will probably notice get removed is 3D Touch, which I liked so I'm kinda bummed. But apparently it was removed so they could fit the bigger battery in. So if that's the case, I guess I'll take that tradeoff, but I do find myself trying to force touch things and then remembering doesn't work anymore. So they replaced force-touch with just holding things down now. Alright so now let's get to possibly my favorite part of this phone, which is the camera, or rather cameras. I actually love the three-camera setup. I used the telephoto camera on my XS, and I honestly didn't think I'd really need the ultra-wide-angle lens, but now that I have the phone, I've found myself using it pretty often. And obviously the telephoto lens comes in handy too, so having all three is awesome for me. And obviously you can expect them being iPhone cameras, they're going to look good. And I had the perfect opportunity to test out the camera because Waymo, Google's self-driving car company actually invited me and a bunch of other people to their facility and check it out. They flew everyone down and gave the USA tour, and let us even ride in the cars, so here are some photos from that. And by the way I will be making a separate video about that probably next week so be sure to subscribe to see that. Anyway these aren't even the best lighting conditions basically being in a big warehouse mostly, and they still look good, there's a combination of mostly wide and ultra wide shots here. All that being said, the regular wide angle lens is clearly the highest quality of the three in most situations, probably because it has the widest aperture so it can let in more light, so there's less noise.

The ultra-wide noticeably softer, and has nearly a full stop slower aperture, so while it's not bad if you have the ability to shoot with the regular focal length, that's the one to go with. If the situation is really bright though, I would think they'd all look really good. One big feature with the camera app though, is there's actually a feature in the settings called "Photos capture outside the frame", where if you take a standard picture with the regular lens, it will actually save the ultrawide image too, or at least some data of it. So if you go into photos and edit it after the fact, you can basically uncrop the image. So this is great if you realize later that there's something cut off the edge of the frame, you can salvage the picture. And interesting, when I tested this out, when you 'uncrop'the image, it seems to retain the same detail from the regular lens, so it does NOT appear to be just capturing a regular and separate wide shot, then switching to the wide shot if you uncrop it. I think it's intelligently stitching the ultra wide lens image data onto the edges of high quality regular image, which is impressive. The camera app for the Pro is also redesigned,so when you zoom you can drag your finger which brings up this dial. I like this because you can see the exact zoom amount, and also see exactly when it's going to switch between lenses. And you can kind of notice it when you go from one level to the next. Also there's this swipe gesture to bring up some capture settings, like flash setting, timer, aspect ratio, and filters. And then when you swipe down again you can cycle through the camera modes like photo, video, portrait, panorama, etc. But next, we have to talk about night mode.I think the camera's night mode is actually my favorite feature on the whole phone. Basically, when the scene is dark enough, the night mode option will appear which you can toggle on with a little button, and if it's really dark, night mode will automatically be enabled.

When it's enabled, there's a little dial next to the shutter which determines how long it will capture the image for, kind of like a long exposure, but much more advanced. It will have an automatic suggestion for how long it will go based on how dark it is, but you can adjust it to be a bit longer if you want, but the maximum you can set it to is also determined by how dark the scene is, and I think it can also tell if it's on a tripod. So usually if it's handheld I think the longest you can go is 10 seconds, but if the phone is still, the longest I think it goes is up to 30 seconds. Anyway, the images the night mode can produce are actually amazing, they look awesome. Here's an example from the top of a hotel without night mode, and this is the ultra-wide lens that does not support night mode, unfortunately.And then this is with the night mode on the regular wide lens. It's really night and day.Notice how it maintains the brightest part which is the pool but also does an awesome job lightening up the surrounding areas with the chairs, which were completely blacked out in the other one. I also did a couple extreme dark room tests where I basically went into a bathroom and closed the door so it was super dark and tested it out. So this is what it looks like just taking a regular photo, obviously, it's super dark, you can really only see my outline. Then even dragging up the brightness its still completely muddy with no details whatsoever. But even with a tiny amount of light just from the cracks in the doors, this is what it was able to do with night mode at 3 seconds exposure. It literally makes the room look bright.

Now I know just looking at this picture by itself it looks crappy, but compared to what it would have looked like, holy crapit's literally like night and day. And that's an extreme test, so you can see why in a normal, reasonably dark environment, it can capture crazy detail. Up until now I would have definitely said that Google's pixel cameras were by far the best, specifically because of how well they performed in low light. But I actually think with the iPhone 11 Pro, the night mode here is just as good as the Pixel's Night Sight mode, and in some situations even better based on some people have made comparing the two. Now as for video, it's also great. The dynamic range in particular is surprisingly good. Here's another great example, when I was inside one of the waymo self-driving cars, where not only can you actually see everything inside the car, but also outside for the most part, specifically out the side windows, even though it was an extremely sunny day. And this was with the wide angle lens too, so that came in real handy, I was able to actually capture the whole inside of the car because of that. So yea the camera overall is awesome as usual but is even more so when you consider the three lenses and that night mode. Next up when it comes to performance, we can forget about battery life. And I'm happy to say it's actually great this year. Not onlyis the battery physically larger by a significant amount compared to last year, but apparently the A13 has some special power efficient cores on top of that. Coming from the XS its really a huge difference.

I'm a pretty heavy user, I like to watch YouTube videos all the time on my phone, and before I'd have to recharge my phone once a day around the afternoon,but now I can usually get through the whole day without charging it at all, even using it on medium screen brightness. For example, I've gotten nearly 6 hours of screen on time having only used around 50% of the battery, which is crazy. So finally, I think I can say the battery life on this iPhone is good or even great. Not totally amazing or anything, but much better than it used to be for iPhones. Super happy about that. So finally, let's get into some other miscellaneous features and thoughts I haven't talked about yet. One nice thing is Apple FINALLY included a fast charger in the box with the 11 Pro and Pro Max. I don't even think most average people didn't even know iPhones since the 8 have supported fast charging. I mean its still a joke they only include the crappy small one with regular iPhone 11's but at least they're shipping them with the Pros. There are also a couple of features that are apparently coming soon to the iPhone 11 Pro that is worth mentioning. The first has to do with the camera and it's called "deep fusion", and will basically allow the camera to capture lots of images in the background up until the point you press the shutter, and then combine them into one. And this will just make the images look a lot sharper potentially.

This feature is available in beta versions of iOS only so far, but reports have shown that it really does look pretty good, so I'm excited about that. Another hardware feature in the phone that apparently hasn't been activated yet is the U1 chip, which is like an ultra-wideband radio. This will give the iPhone 'spatial awareness' so to speak, meaning it will be able to locate other devices with similar chips much more accurately. For example, if you go to airdrop to someone else's iPhone 11 Pro, the phone will know when you're pointing at them and prioritize their phone to airdrop too. It's would also probably work with the rumored upcoming device locator product from Apple, kind of like Tile, where instead of just telling you how far away your lost item is, it can tell direction. So it will be really exciting when this feature actually comes to be. So now with everything we talked about, we have the big question, is this phone worth upgrading to. The answer, as you'd expect, is not so easy. In my opinion, there's not really anyone single KILLER feature that is unique to this phone. I mean yea we do have the camera's night mode which is awesome, the battery life is greatly improved, and having the three cameras is really nice. ButI'd just consider these all great improvements to existing features, nothing totally new.The only exception might be that night mode but it's subjective. I'd say if you're coming from an iPhone XS or even X, and you don't have enough money to upgrade every year, you might want to hold off until next year when we'll likely get a bigger redesign. But if you're coming from an older generation like an iPhone 7 or earlier, even that will depend on whether you'd rather wait until a much bigger upgrade next year. From an older generation, the cumulative incremental upgrades would be a huge jump for you, so if you feel like you really need an upgrade I do think you'd be happy with this phone.

Now as a side note, one thing to keep in mind is because batteries degrade over time, you might be considering upgrading your old iPhone just because the battery life sucks. But remember you can go to the Apple store and pay to have a brand new battery swapped out in a matter of hours. You should check your battery health in the settings to see where it's at. If it's below like 80% or so, it would probably be worth it to pay the $50 to get a new battery. But I digress. As for me, even coming from an iPhone XS, I am actually very surprised that I do feel like it was a worthwhile upgrade now that I have it. Originally after watching Apple's announcement keynote, I was really disappointed that there were apparently no new major features. You might have even seen my video where I said it sucked, but I bought it anyway because I felt obligated to review it, and honestly didn't think it would be worth it. But now, I actually think Apple SOMEHOW managed to undersell and overdeliver in this case. After using it for the past couple weeks, especially with the cameras and night mode, and improved battery, I've found myself liking it a lot.So in my case at least, even coming from the XS, I'm happy with the purchase.

So basically what I'd say is if you're someone who usually upgrades every year, you'll probably be really happy with the iPhone 11 Pro. And if you have a pretty old phone that just isn't cutting it anymore, I also think you'll be really happy after upgrading. At the same time, if you have a phone that you're fine with, and you're on the fence about whether you should upgrade or wait till next year, in that case, you should probably just wait. Again all these features are incremental, even though they're pretty big increments. So you won't be missing out on anything game-changing. And if there is a feature you just know you have to have, well you can probably just decide that for yourself anyway. And that's what I have to say about that.Now, remember there are a lot of other new features in the recently released iOS 13 that you might not know about, but should have even on older iPhones. How to Reset iPhone To Factory Default | iPhone Factory Reset

Hey everyone. Today, I want to show you how you could take an iPhone and reset it to factory default, basically making it a brand new phone. So if you're selling your phone, or if you want to give your phone to someone else, maybe you've upgraded your phone This is what you got to do to reset it to factory default making it a brand new phone, in this case, I'm using an iPhone 6s, but if you have an iPhone X really any iPhone the process is pretty much the same So let me jump into the phone and show you how to do it I'll show you a quick way on how you could backup your phone in this video too. This is using iCloud Just a real quick way to make sure once you reset it You don't lose any information because when you reset it, your photos go away your apps go away becomes a brand new phone, so everything needs to be backed up Let's jump into the phone and take a look. So we're in the phone here and the first thing we want to do is go to settings and we want to check to make sure we have the latest backup so if you haven't backed it up. It's ok. We could do that here We'll make sure we have the latest backup before we erase this phone now We want to go to iCloud and in iOS 10 or before you used to be down here somewhere here You should see iCloud, but in iOS 11 and so on it's over here, so if I click here I want to look for iCloud which in this case is in the middle of the screen down here it has all my iOS devices Here, so I could also get to it there But let me show you how you get to iCloud From here go to iCloud, and we want iCloud backup So if we scroll down we should see ICloud backup right here click that and mine has been turned on because I've been doing it I've been doing backups all the time so if yours do not go ahead and turn it on and right here on the bottom.

It shows you the date so in this case This is the date of my last backup But if you have not backed it up recently or this is not recent just go ahead and press back up and it'll start creating That backup for you again. This could take a better time This is a 64 gig iPhone so this is gonna take a bit of time but again You will erase your entire phone, so make sure you have the latest backup. This is what we're gonna also useful if you want to set up a new device from this backup and just one more note here I've actually upgraded my iCloud to be 50 it's only 99 cents to do that so just in case you get an error message Here, or you need more space you'll have to upgrade your iCloud, or you could use iTunes in iTunes You simply plug in your phone and backup your phone into your computer I recommend getting the $0.99 iCloud storage upgrade otherwise It's only backing up five gigs worth of your iPhone data and for 99 cents a month you get 50 gigs So that's what I have That's why I didn't get our error message when I tried this. While this backup is going on make sure you're plugged into power and you have Wi-Fi so I have Wi-Fi I'm plugged into power you could also remove your SIM card if you're giving this phone away Or if you're selling it you could just remove your SIM card Your new phone will probably come with a SIM card already, so you don't need your old SIM card But it's a good option to remove your SIM card again doing this back up this erase doesn't affect the SIM card But I don't like giving away with my phone with the SIM card in it. I'm gonna let this backup completely and as soon as it's done.

I'll jump back and show you how to wipe the phone. Okay, once the backup is complete You could come back into the previous page, and these are the things that backed up So as you could see Apple using iCloud photo and all these things that are turned on is backing up if you didn't want to back any of these up you could simply turn them off when you did your backup in this case I left everything on your I Messages your photos everything that you have through iTunes will be in iTunes So you will have to get them from iTunes once This is complete like your music or movies, but this does back up everything that's on the phone the very next step is Turning off Find My iPhone.This is gonna. Ask you to do it later So you might as well do it right now since we're on this page Go ahead and click find my iPhone and just go ahead and turn it off most of the time. It's gonna ask you to enter your password so go ahead and enter your password and There you go now. We've turned off Find My iPhone now We want to go back and then go back again, and now we want to go back to general So let's click that and then let's scroll all the way to the bottom You should see a reset option, so now if you press reset Just like that on the bottom of the page so on this page. We wanna press erase all content and settings That's the second option That's gonna set our phone to factory default so again make sure that's what you want to be doing and then let's press that It's asking you to back up Danny race so we already did the backup process So if you see this make sure you've already backed up I've already backed up, so I don't need to do this But if you haven't you could do this here backup to any race in this case. I'll just do a race now I'm just gonna type in my passcode here And it's gonna ask me one more time this will delete all media and data Yes, and then it's gonna. Ask me one last time. Just to make sure I want to do this.

10 Advanced Windows Features That Will Surprise You! Windows Features

So you've been using Windows forever, andyou think you know everything it has to offer. But I'm here to tell you that you're WRONG! Windows has lots of little hidden features and tools hidden away that you may have never even heard of. Some of them are very minor features, and others are actually really significant. So now I'm going to give you a list of 10Advanced Windows features you probably never knew about. And first I'm going to quickly plug my Instagram, I like to post cool stuff on there if you're interested, it's just @ThioJoe. Starting off we have a cool tool built into windows called "Cipher". This one is great for anybody even a little bit of security conscious, but even I didn't know about it until recently. Cipher is a simple command-line program you run through the command prompt, that allows you to encrypt or decrypt data on your computer, as well as security erases files so they can't be recovered after deletion. There are a lot of options with this, but if you simply want to encrypt or decrypt something, you just type in Cipher, /e, then the path of the folder you want to encrypt. The /e is just for encrypt, where-as /d would be decrypted

. Then it will do it the thing, and now that folder is encrypted. And you can tell because now the folder should have a little lock icon on it, which will also show on any other files in the folder. But I think the coolest thing about this is now, any more files you put into that encrypted folder will automatically be encrypted on the fly, so you don't have to keep running the command. The operating system handles everything. Also, the encryption key is tied to your user account, so you don't have to remember any extra password. That way, the encrypted files are not accessible unless the computer is on and you're logged in. But you should back up the encryption key, which might prompt you to do. The other useful feature of the cipher is being able to securely erase deleted data. For this you use the /w parameter, so it'sCipher, /w, then the name of the volume or path, such as E:/. What this will do is take all the unused space on the drive, not any actual files or folders, and overwrite it. This makes it impossible to recover anything that has been deleted. So overall, this is a really powerful and awesome tool, and I bet many of you didn't even know you could encrypt files this way. Next up, we have the "Mobility Center". It's just a little window that gives you an easy view of some common features you might need on portable devices. It's usually only enabled on laptops and tablet devices, but with some registry tweaks you could probably get it on desktop.

To run it you can search for it in the start menu, or run it directly, "mblctr.exe" Some of the settings it has are screen brightness, volume, battery mode, WiFi toggling, presentation mode, external display settings, and maybe more. As you can imagine, most of this doesn't really matter on desktop, but on a laptop or tablet these settings are definitely nice to have close by. Moving on we have another quick little feature, this time for Windows Explorer. Your know-how in any window there's obviously search box to look for files. But did you know you can SAVE searches you make frequently? When you type in a search term, a "SearchTools" tab will appear, which has a lot of options. Here you can save a search, which will actually create a file with the search term in it. And you can pin that folder so all your search terms are easily accessible. This is especially good if you do a lot of advanced searches, like for specific file types. These extra filters can be applied by clicking kind, size, and other properties. So even though the Windows search is pretty slow, it can probably do more than you thought. Up Next is a neat feature for the Windows clock. What you wanna do is right-click the clock in the taskbar, then hit Adjust/Date Time. Here you'll see a link to "Add clocks for different time zones". It's pretty straight forward, but it allows you to not only display one time but now multiple. This is great if you have friends in other time zones, or do business there or whatever. So now you can click on the clock in the taskbar, and below the current time, you'll see your extra time zone as well. Alright this will be number 5. Have you ever heard of the Math Input panel? For many people, it's useless, but for others, it's a lifesaver. You can open it just by searching for it in the start menu. Then you'll be shown what looks like graph paper or something.

What this tool lets you do is draw out mathematical equations, and it will attempt to convert it to text. So say I'm in Microsoft Word writing a document, and I need to add a bit of math for whatever reason. Normally you'd have to painstakingly go through all the math symbols, try to correctly place the symbols as fractions, all that. But with this, you can simply write it out, and it will do all that for you, and you just hit the "Insert" button to paste it into the document. It's not always perfect, but you can easily fix its mistakes using the select and correct tool. So if it gets anything wrong, you can pick from other symbols it might be. I think anyone who takes math courses will find this especially useful. Number 6 is another very small and simple,but also useful feature, the Volume Mixer Panel. Normally when you click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, you just have the option to raise the whole system volume up and down. But what if you want to change the volume of just one program? What you do is right-click the speaker, and hit Open Volume Mixer. Now, it will show you not one, but several volume sliders, one for the whole system, and one for each individual program! You'll notice when you raise one program above the whole system volume, the maximum of the system will increase to allow this, and all other programs will stay the same. You can also lower an individual program as well obviously. And the cool thing is now when you adjust the total system volume, it will keep scaling them based on the relative volumes you just set. I think this is one feature that really everyone can find useful, but is surprisingly not well known. Ok next we have a neat feature in regards to the quick launch bar. You might have several programs down there so you can quickly launch them, but there is perhaps an even faster way still.

Did you know that if you press the Windows key, and a number key, it will launch whatever program in the quick launch bar that corresponds to that number? So if you press Win + 1, it launches the first program, Win + 2, the second one, and so on. You might say, well that's not even really faster than clicking on it. And I think you're right, but there might be cases where it is still useful. Like maybe you're on a laptop without a mouse, and hitting those keys IS actually faster than scrolling over to the button. Or maybe you're using a full-screen program, and you want to run a program or shortcut without having to Alt-Tab out first. I'm sure you can get creative with it. Number 8. This is actually a hugely useful one, for some people at least. It's the Linux Bash Shell, in Windows. Microsoft just added this in a recent update, much to the surprise of everyone. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Microsoft basically allows you to install a "Subsystem" for Linux, specifically Ubuntu, allowing it to actually run some Linux applications. And this includes Linux's "bash shell", which you can kind of think of as the Command Prompt of Linux. Great so how do you enable it? First you need to enable Windows developer mode by going to Settings, Update and Security, For Developers, then selecting Developer Mode.

Then you search the start menu for the "TurnWindows Features On and Off" menu. Find where it says "Windows subsystem for Linux Beta", check the box, and you're done. You might have to reboot, but now if you search for "bash" it should come up. After installing the Ubuntu subsystem, and creating a Unix username and password, you now successfully are in a Linux Environment, running on Windows. And if you have no idea what any of that stuff means, don't worry, not many average windows users will ever need this but is definitely useful for IT professionals and that sort. Number 9 is really quick and simple. If you've ever had Windows Explorer freeze up, you know it can be a real pain, and normally you have to launch the task manager, findExplorer.exe, and end it. But there's actually a much easier way. All you have to do is hold Control and Shift then right-click the taskbar, and at the bottom, you'll see a new option to "Exit Explorer". Obviously way simpler than doing all that other nonsense if you're having issues, and should come in handy. Ok, finally, the big daddy of hidden tools, which isn't even a single tool, but a collection of many. And it's not actually included in Windows, but Microsoft has it on their site to download separately. You may have heard of it, it's called the"SysInternals Suite". If you haven't heard of it, you're in fora real treat lemme tell you, good thing you stuck around till the end here.

On the download page, linked in the description, you will see a list of a TON of extra Windows tools made by Microsoft, that are super useful, but not included in Windows by default. One good example is the "Process Explorer", which is basically the task manager on serious steroids. It will show you a list of all running processes, and so much more. For example, if you've ever tried to move or change a file but couldn't because it was in use by a program, you can use process explorer to figure out what program it is. You press the binoculars to do a search, type in the name of the file, and it will tell you which program is using it. And if you want to quickly find a program in the list, you can drag the crosshairs over the programs Window, and it will go to it automatically. And that's just scratching the surface. Another good one is "Autoruns". Windows already has a built-in feature for showing what programs launch on boot up, but it doesn't always show everything. Autoruns will. You'll run it and see a HUGE list of everything that starts up with Windows. Not just programs, but services, DLLs being called, what registry entry calls it, even what media codecs get loaded. I think this one is super important because there have been times where I KNOW a program is starting up with Windows, but it just doesn'tshow up anywhere. This should help you fix that. Those are just two utilities in Sysinternals, but as you saw there are a ton more. I might need to make an entirely separate video talking about the best of those. So that's everything. if you just updated to Windows 10 i'mabout to show you ten tips tricks and features that'll help you get the mostout of this operating system hi guys welcome back to tony dawson tech if you're new here welcome and if you're not welcome back let's get straight into itnow the new Windows 10 update has been out for a couple of weeks nowcode name 20h1 this was Windows Update 2004 now whether you're a power user oran occasional user there's something here for you I'm not gonna waste anymore time let's get down to top 10 tips and tricks for Windows 10 now the firstone is an old favorite it was actually brought out in Windows 7 but it's stilljust effective in Windows 10 today now we've all been there when you've gotmultiple windows open on the screen and you just want to get rid of some youcould individually go to each window and minimize them so you've only got the onethat you're working on there but there's a quicker way if you left click on theactive window that you've got open and give it a shake all windows willminimize apart from that one simple and if you want them all back I have to dois click on it again and shake and it will bring them all backnumber two seems a simple one how to take a screenshot now there's 8different ways in Windows 10 tend to take a screenshot now the easiest way to dothis is simply press windows and print screen key and that will save thatscreenshot in the pictures folder in a folder called screenshots the best wayto do a screenshot now is by using snip and sketch and you can get to that bypressing the Windows key shift and the letter S this is quite a versatile toolyou can either have rectangular window freeformor fullscreen they'll let you annotate it lay it highlight stuff okay so thisis snip and sketch now I need to do is press windows shift & S and then whensnipping sketch menu will come up you've got a rectangular snip free from snip awindow snip or just a full screen snip all we want is a rectangular for thisinstance click on it drag you've got it save and it comes upand it's say to the clipboard to paste where you want there you go have a playaround with it miles better than the snipping toolnumber three is a cool trick which I confess I only learn about probablyabout a year ago and it's a slide down to shut off here's how to set it off sothis is pretty simple to set up once you're on your desktop right click it onto new select shortcut type in what's on the screen now there will be a link inthe description click on next and finish and what happens is you get thisshortcut on the desktop that's called slide to shut down to saythose extra precious seconds all you need to do is double click on thatdisappears now if you slide this window all the way down the computer will startshutting down I don't need to do that for now so let's get back to itnumber four is dictation it's a tool I'd never thought I'd ever use its been inwindows quite a while but it's been pretty poor but now it's actually quitea useful tool if you're going to use it I use it for my YouTube scripts sort oftyping things out I'll write it down open up word and start dictating okaydictation is easy to set up once you've got your text program open with anotepad or word or whatever you want to be once you're in there I need to do ispress the windows key + H and it will start listening and it will start typingwhat you're saying very cleversave lots of time now number five is one that admittedly I don't use that often ifever but I can see it being very popular in today's society and that's an emojiand symbols menu anywhere your typing just hit the windows and full stop key and youwill bring up the menu to choose your emoji or symbol just like this okay toget up your emoji and symbols menu wherever you're typing whether that bechatting or again in some sort of text documentyou type it along like I said I need to do is hit the windows and the full-stopkey and you get the emoji menu all the symbols menu all along the bottom andchoose which ones you want go ahead try it now number six is for those powerusers settings are all over the place in Windows different menus different waysto get to them now there's an old Easter Egg that's still available in Windows 10and it's called god mode it puts all the most useful and widely used settingsinto one folder as such and it's a doddle to set up let me show you okaygod mode is easy to set up as well it's pretty similar to slide to shut down once you're on your desktop right-click go down to new this time you're going select folderand you need to rename the folder with text thats on the screen now or justcopy it from the description once that's renamed press Enter when you've entered it,

it will transform into this symbol here double tap and you'll see all the settingsthat you would ever need across the board place simple as consistently I've cheated alittle bit here I've put two together in one category and that's a timedifference and calculator options now the calculator has been around for yearsin Windows and in the early days it was just simply a calculator but now it'sgot so many features if you open up the options menu you see what you can dowith the calculator from a scientific calculator to working out area to acurrency converter all those tools just in the calculator app now the next oneis great if you've got friends and family that live in different parts ofthe world it allows you just to simply have a look and calculate the timedifference between them all if you go to the search bar and type alarms and clockand then click on the clock you'll see the map of the world and you canpinpoint where everybody lives and you cansee the time difference between where you are handy little feature number 8 isthe cloud clipboard this allows you to save multiple items to the clipboard andselect which one you want to paste but of course it's saved in the cloud so you could spare from one gadget and glue it into another gadget utilizing the cloud clipboard I'll tell you the best way to turn it on now alright to set up your cloudclipboard go to settings then from settings you need to go to system and on the lefthand side go to clipboard once you're in there turn your clipboard history on andturn on sync across devices from there once you have copied something if youpress Windows + V it will bring up the clipboard that you can sync acrossdevices and paste it as and when when you need itnumber nine is dynamic lock pretty nifty it pairs Windows 10 with your phone soif you pick your phone up and walk away from the screen it will automaticallylock your session ideal if you're in a public place or maybe you have quite afew roommates it takes away that forgetfulness of youlocking your screen and it will lock it automatically here's how to set it upokay to turn on dynamic lock again you need to go into settings go to accountsand the accounts go to sign-in options once you're in sign-in options if youscroll down you will find dynamic lock tick to turn it on allow Windows tolock your device automatically when you're away just remember to pick upyour phone when you move it goes off your phone obviously from there you'llneed to link your phone as well number 10 is something called storage sensethis essentially move temporary files that aren't being used by any of yourinstalled programs to free up space automatically it'll automatically emptythe recycle bin after 30 days you know let you configure a manual cleanup whichis always handy after a Windows Update here's how to activateokay to turn storage sense on again we need to go into the settings menu intosystem and then down the left hand side you'll find storage in storage it's thefirst one you come to the little slide there where you can turn storage senseon and so you turn it on if you click on configure you can configure what you canand can't do so you can personalize it have a look at it see what you can dothere you go as always I've got bonus for you and this one's called power toysthis is an open source project by Microsoft but weirdly it's not availableon the Microsoft Store I'll leave the link down below you have to download itfrom github this is one of those features that could take it whole videoon its own it's probably actually there for power users again but there are somenifty little toys in there no power toys came about in Windows 95 all those yearsago and it's still available now for Windows 10 there's too many things tomention I'll show you how to set it up now have a play around let me know whatyou think okay to install power toys go to the link in the description it'lltake you to this or whatever is the latest release depending on when you'rewatching this go down to the bottom and you'll see power toys setup double clickthat it will download the Installer once it's download double click that run theInstaller so it installs you will get if you choose you will get a shortcut oryou can open it from the stat menu and there's lots of toys in here too many togo into so if you want to see that just let me know do a full video on power toysthere's a lot of stuff in there and that's how you sell power toys there yougo I hope you found something beneficial in there if you want me to go intoanything more detail especially the power toys please let me know in thecomments if you enjoyed it please give me a thumbs up it really does help there will be more of these to come if you haven't subscribed yet that buttons up herelove it if you could subscribe to join the gang if not here's another video thatmight convince you otherwise for now guys thanks for watching I'll see younext time

hey guys welcome back so Windows 10 hasbeen out for about 5 years now and it really does have some cool featuresunder the hood which not necessarily everybody knows so in this video todaylet me share with you five cool things that you can do with your Windows 10computer and also let you know that Windows 7 is actually going to beend-of-life on the 14th of January 2020 which is only a few weeks from now soI'm guessing lots of people are going to be upgrading to Windows 10 so I'm hopingat least some of these tips may be useful to them so with all of that beingsaid let's jump right into it so the first cool thing we can do at Windows 10is to enable automatic management of our storage or we could say automatichousekeeping now this feature is actually called storage sense and bydefault it's not enabled now to enable if you go to the start button let's goto settings let's click on that let's now go to system and here we're lookingfor storage and here we can just confirm that storage sense is disabled bydefault that's now turned on let's click on configure and firstly we can justconfigure Windows Storage sense actually run the deep ocean is to run wheneveryour trial runs low in space but if you click on that you can actually say Iwant to run this option every day every week or every month but for now let'sjust leave it on whenever you have no free disk space and then the firstoption we have is to automatically delete any temporary files that yourapplications are not using so you don't have to go and find any temporary filesmanually yourself because this option is enabled this will do that for youautomatically giving you back that free disk space you also have the option hereto manage your recycle bin so as we know on Windowsanytime you delete a file it actually moves out to your recycle bin then it'sup to you to go ahead and right-click an empty that whenever you feel like herebut with this option enabled this will actually delete any files in there thatare older than 30 days we can also reduce that down to one day or 14 daysor even up to 60 days so it really does give you that control on when thesefiles will be deleted from your recycle bin let's leave our 30 days you alsohave a great option which is to manage the files in your downloads folder asyou know on Windows anytime you download anything from your browser or fromanywhere else the default location it goes to is actually your downloadsfolder which we can see here now over time this can build updepending on how actively you are downloading things on your computer soonce again having this option enabled you could say for example anything olderthan 60 days just delete that for me so and the very last option is onlyapplicable if you've ever done an in-place upgrade of your Windowsoperating system so if you're upgraded from windows 8 to Windows 10 or fromwindows 7 to Windows 10 you can actually click on this option and this will thengo ahead and delete any of the files from your previous operating system sowe can see that storage sense does give either automated control of themaintenance of your hard drives and if you run all of this now let's click onclean now give that a second and that should now go ahead and delete all ofthe files that match this criteria here the next cool thing we can do in Windowsis to enable the nightlight feature now in recent years evidence has appearedthat exposure to blue light can cause eye fatigue and a whole range of healthissues so whether you look at your phone in your bed or you look in your iPad ormaybe you're just staring at the computer screen for too long but all ofthese can prevent you sleeping and it's actually what causes your eyes to hurtnow fortunately the big names in the tech world have started to take noticeof this problem as you notice with most of the modern smartphones from youriPhones to your Android phones they will have some kind of night remote featurewhich actually reduces that blue light now to do this in Windows if you stillright-click on the desktop and select display settings right the top and youcan see we have the option to enable blue light now if I turn this on thiswill not change the colors displayed on the screen into warmer versions ofthemselves in other words we are now partially removing that blue light youcan also tweak the settings in here and you can change how much of the bluelight is removed so the more you go to the right the more warmer the colorswill be and the less blue light you have and opposite on the left you can alsoget this to happen automatically via schedule so you can go from your sunsetto your sunrise you can actually pick the hours yourself so automatically turnon night light let's say for example 10 o'clock at night time and turn it off 6a.m.in the morning so again you have that complete control on how you want tomanage these at night light settings so it really is a great feature that'sautomatically built into Windows the next cool thing we can do in Windows isto actually manage the windows by using various mouse gestures for example ifyou click and hold on an active window and then just shake your mouse we cansee that then minimizes all the other does accept the current active one andif you do the same process again that then reverses actions and then bringsthese windows back you can also snap the windows so for example if I click andhold here and drag up if I let go now we can see that then makes this fullscreenlet's try that again with another window again let's click here go to the top letgo and then that makes it fullscreen similarly if you click and drag to theleft this then resizes the window to exactly half of your screen size and ifthen click on another window you now have two equal sized windowstaking up exactly half of your screen for each window so it's a great way toimprove your productivity so on this side you can maybe be doing your workmaybe typing up a document and decide you could be maybe you know browsing theweb or watching some YouTube videos similarly if you click and go to thebottom left and then let go this then does a perfect quarter of your screensize for this active window so again I can click on another window up here okayso we now have two quarter windows and a full size windowSarek we typing up document this is a typing test downtown looking somepictures and over here I'm browsing the web so again it really is a great way toincrease the productivity on your computer and if you don't like using themouse if you're more of a power user you can also do that by using the windowskey so if I press the windows key and left we can see that then it snaps tothe left if I press the Windows key and up because it then goes to the top leftif I press the Windows key and down if I press the windows came down again thatthen goes to the bottom left so again you can do all of this stuff just byusing the Windows key and the arrows the next cool feature we have is SystemRestore and I'll say this is kind of like a time machine that allow you toundo any of the system changes on your device that that may be causing youproblems so let's say for example you install you know big windows update oryou install a program and ends up crashing your computer this will be anideal time to use a system restore point to go back to a previous point whereyour computer was actually healthy now to create a system restore point if yougo to the start button let's go to settings and inhale a search for restoreand we can see here we have option to create a restore point let's click onthat and we can see on my computer the protection is set to OFF so let'sclick on configure let's click on turn on system protectionlet's allocate about 5% of my drive for a system restore let's click on applyand click on ok ok so now that system protection is enabled we now want tocreate a custom a restore point which means if anything happens to my computerI can always go back to this point where we currently are right now so let'sclick on create let's just give that a name so I can say you know everythinggreat and if you got to make a big change you can actually make a note herelike pre-installing new update so you know if there's any problems you canalways go back to this particular restore point let's click on crate andwe get the message that the restore point was created successfully let'sclick on close and if you want to use our restore point we can click on systemrestore click on next and we can see here we've got the manual restore pointthat we created so anything happens to my computer I could always go back tothis particular restore point so I do think this is a great feature whichcould save your neck if you do end up having a critical problem on yourcomputer the law school thing we can do in Windows 10 which I would say isprobably a bit more for an advanced feature is to enable virtual desktopsnow virtual desktops as the name implies allows you to create virtual test basesor virtual workspaces for you to organize and manage your stuff forexample you could have one virtual desktop when you're doing your work oryour productivity stuff and you have a separate one for your entertainment orfor your leisure activities now to create a virtual desktop you can clickon the task view here we can see these are the current active windows I haveand we have a feature the top is saying new desktop let's click on that we cannow see we have a desktop 2 and a desktop 1 for that a desktop 2 we cansee I've no applications open forget back to the toast view go back todesktop 1 and we can see here I've got a couple of things open like a Worddocument the file explorer window and also Chrome now if I want to movesomething to a second desktop let's go back to the task view now I can say Iwant to move Chrome because I'm going to be using that for games or something Ican drag that into desktop 2 okay so now we have desktop 1 with just two thingsopen and if I go back to the task view because he desktop 2 is just for the browsers so this way you can separate out your work and maybe other activities which would hopefully 15 Command Prompt Secrets and Tricks in Windows

How's it going guys I'm Thio Joe and today we're gonna be taking a look at the good old command prompt in Win And you may know this is a very useful tool but there are a lot of features that are pretty much unknown and dare I say our secret features that make it even more useful now. This is going to be in Windows 10 particularly That's what I'm using. But a lot of these are gonna carry over in previous versions as well I've got about 15 of these. So let's get started Probably says the path of the current folder. You're in like C And then either the user directory or maybe system 32 if you're running as an administrator, you can actually customize Any of that text to say whatever you want and you do this for example by typing in the prompt command so you prompt and then whatever text you want and now that will be the Text that shows up before whatever command you type in so you can type in prompt Hello, and now it will say hello. And then you type the commands after that obviously having just some random word There is not really going to be very useful so you can actually use the command prompt and then space / ? to show special codes that you can use to not just have words but also dynamic information there as well such as a Timestamp or the version of Windows and stuff like that So for example, maybe we don't want it to just show the file path.

But we also want to have it as a timestamp So if you're looking at a log later down the road, you know exactly when these commands are run So to do this you can look at the special codes and what we would want to type in is Prompt to say we're gonna change this then we would use the command dollar sign T, which is the current timestamp Code and then we're gonna do a space and then dollar sign B as a vertical line and we're just kind of formatting at this Point another space and then we're gonna use the dollar sign P command Which will show the current path just like it usually does and then we want to put that right arrow caret thing So we're gonna use the dollar sign G command to show the greater sign so you can see after we do that it now shows the Timestamp and then the divider line and then the file path like it did before so a little bit more useful also If you ever mess it up and you want to go back you can simply revert to the default by typing and prompt and nothing after that And it will automatically go back so you could also use this as some sort of prank if you want to mess with your friends You could have it's a catastrophic error or something like that And then they won't know what's wrong with it Might be kind of funny as long as you know how to put it back one thing to keep in mind though is that when you use this command it will actually reset once you restart the command prompt if you wanted to have that by default and always show your Customized one when you start command prompt you have to do a quick Registry edit now. I'm gonna show you how to do that but as usual, if you are not experienced with the registry editor at all be very careful and maybe even avoid this trick because Messing with that registry and deleting something could literally ruin your entire version of Windows and you'll have to reinstall it So just be very careful here.

So what you do is you open up the registry editor and you need to find the key That's under computer H Hkey current user then software then Microsoft and then command Processor now on the right side after you enter that little folder you're going to right-click You're gonna create new and then string value and you want to name this autorun and after you create that you're going to right click on that key that you just made the autorun one and click modify and then where it says value data, you're gonna type in whatever command you want to auto run as Command prompt starts up so in this case If we want the prompt command to always have a certain format that we customized like the one we just made Oh, yeah All we have to do is paste in that timestamp Prompt code that we created before and now you can see when we start up command prompt it now Automatically shows that customized prompt there and this doesn't just have to be the prompt command You could have this as any command you want to run automatically when you start command prompt, so use it wisely All right up next this is another kind of useful one So instead of customizing the prompt maybe you want to customize the title that shows up in the title bar of the command prompt and to do that you just type in title and then whatever text you want and again this will Reset after you close the command prompt But if you want you can put it in that auto run command in the registry and it will change it permanently Okay moving on This is kind of - and you might know these already but first of all is the help command? I'm sure you know about this one you just type in help and then it will basically list a bunch of very common command prompt commands that you can choose from but You can also access help by typing in any command and then typing space and then a slash Question mark and I showed this in the previous One we did and that will actually bring up a bunch of information About that command and this doesn't necessarily have to be one of the commands that are built in to command prompt For example, you could have one that's like SFC system file checker, and that's not gonna appear when you type in help But you can still use the slash question mark command to show information about it such as the syntax some Arguments or parameters in it that sort of thing.

All right up next We have a couple that we're gonna combine together and that is how you can access Previous commands that you might have typed in and you want to either repeat these or to see what you typed in before The first of which is simply using the arrow keys if you use the up and down arrow keys It will scroll through previous commands you did and paste them So you can just press ENTER again to do it again You can also get a list of previous commands you typed in in that instance since you've started command prompt by typing in DOS key Slash history and then will output a list of all the commands you've recently typed in and finally another good shortcut is simply pressing f7 and this will actually bring up not only a list of Previous commands but it'll also let you select them directly and then press ENTER and then it will paste it So if you don't have to keep scrolling through using the arrow keys, you can just select it right there pretty useful All right up next this is a useful one If you want to have multiple commands executed On the same line so you can do this by typing in two ampersands or + signs between the commands So say we want to customize the tight and the prompt at the same time you could type in prompt whatever text you want and then the to and signs and then the title command and whatever you want when you hit enter it'll do both at the same time and you can also use this when You're doing that registry Auto run command. If you want to have it execute multiple things You can combine them with an ampersand and it'll do it all at once.

All right moving on This is definitely a useful one which allows you to put the output of a command on to the clipboard so if you know that you're gonna be copying the command or you already Executed it and you want to go back and copy at this time? You'd simply type in the command and then a space and then a vertical line and then another space and then type clip after the command so it'll look like this and then now when you execute that command It'll be copied to the clipboard and you can paste it on a forum if you're asking for help into a text document Whatever you want related to this the next one is that you can actually Output an output to a file, not just the clipboard and you do this by using the greater than sign which is the right arrow And then a space and then the name of the file so test dot txt or whatever and then it will output that To a text file which is located in your default library folder for that user So see users Joe or whatever keep in mind if that file already exists It will actually overwrite that file.But if you want to append the text results on to the file so maybe you already have a file dot txt and you want to add the results onto that you can use two greater than signs and it will simply append the Results to the end of it for both of these commands if you want you can specify the file location So it doesn't just go to the default one and that's simply by doing the greater than sign and then typing out the entire File path and then it'll go to that file location.

All right This next one is a very simple shortcut and that is ctrl C now Normally if you're in Windows, this always does a copy command But in command prompt it's special and it actually aborts the currently running program or commands So if you're running something it's taken too long or you didn't mean to run it and it's kind of frozen You could press ctrl C and it should abort that command and then bring you the prompt again So if control-c doesn't do a copy furthermore, glue, how would you do a reorder? Well, that's the next tip and that is at least in Windows 10 and I think 8 as well You actually highlight whatever you want in the command prompt and then to copy you actually right-click and then it'll Unselect, but now that text will be on the clipboard and to paste you just do ctrl V again Like normally would and it will paste it alright These next couple are definitely super useful and that is how you can easily Open the command prompt to any path you want without having to type in the change directory command and then typing it all out The first is when you're in any Explorer window to open the command prompt to that location you can simply click in the path at the top So it'll show your location see whatever you can click on that and type CMD and now will open automatically the command prompt to that location Also, you may not know this but if you have a command prompt window open You can actually drag and drop any folder or file in the command prompt window and it will automatically paste that file path So if you want to quickly change the directory you could also type in CD Space and then drag it in and it'll do that or if you want to execute a command onto a certain folder you can type the command and then when you're ready to Type in the path you drag it on and it'll do it for you Now these vex few aren't really secrets, but they're very useful tools that you may still not have known about The first of which is the system file checker and you use this command by typing SFC and typically the one you want to do is SSC space slash scan now And this will actually check all the windows files for anything that's corrupted So this is very useful if windows is misbehaving or complains about file errors or corrupted files This is usually the first thing you want to do and it will automatically repair anything that it finds now This isn't a foolproof way of always fixing anything But it's definitely something that's easy to try first And if you want to know more commands with this you can again use that slash question mark and it'll show you a bunch of other syntax commands and If you want to check them out another useful one is the IP config command So you type in ipconfig? And it will bring up a bunch of information about all your network adapters and you can also type in config Space slash all and it'll show you even more information though.

That might not be useful to you now This could be used for a few things if you just want to see quickly, as the IP address the local IP address of a network adapter It'll show you all the network adapters and all their IP addresses all in one place So this is really useful and it'll also show you your internet IP address as well And finally, this one's definitely not a secret But I should point it out for those of you who don't know about it And that is the ability to access a whole bunch of different properties and defaults to customize The command prompt in general now to get to this there are two ways you can either right-click on the title bar and then go to defaults or You can simply left-click on the little icon at the top left of the window and it'll bring up that same Right-click menu. Now if you click defaults and properties, it'll bring up the same window But I believe that if you do properties it won't continue if you open it next So if you want to change some settings that will stay changed you have to go to the defaults menu I believe and in this menu, it'll show a few different tabs and a whole bunch of customization options such as fonts sizes colors of the window editing options the layout all Sorts of stuff that I'm not going to get into but I'm sure you can mess with it So hopefully those tips and tricks will be useful the next time you use the command prompt if you want I've got some other videos on here that also have some cool tips and tricks on different stuff You might not have known about so you can check those out and until next time be seeing you

iOS 13.5.1 is Out! - What's New?

Hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech &iOS 13.5.1 was released to the public today this is available to all iOS 13 supported devices so that means the iPhone 6s and later as well as the iPad Air 2 in later and iPad Mini 4 and later as well as iPod Touch 7th generation now if you haven't received this update and maybe you received iOS 13.5.5 beta you would need to uninstall the beta profile so if you are a beta tester you would want to go into settings go to general scroll to the bottom and you'll have a word that says profile here go into profile and removes it and then you'll be able to check for software update and it will be there now iOS 13.5.1 came in at 77.5 MB on my iPhone 11 pro max and it was as small as about50 megabytes or so depending on the device so I have the iPhone 7 the iPhone10 are in the iPad pro 12.9 from 2020 now let's take a look at the buildnumber the build number is 17 f80 and this particular build is all about onething and apple also released similar updates for not only iOS but also watchOS 6.2.6 TV OS 13.4.6 home pod OS 13.4.6 and also Mac OS 10.15.5 supplemental updates so withthis update iOS 13.5.1 has no modem updates so there's no modemfixes nothing to cellular data or Wi-Fi that I could find and it has onespecific the component that is incorporated and that is to fix the escape so in the event that you were utilizing iOS 13.5 with the revealed escape that has been fixed in certainty Apple considers that calls that out specifically as far as securityupdates as far as preventing that

so it says an application may be able toexecute arbitrary code with it kernel privileges or access to the operatingsystem itself and so they've patched that on all of these devices and that'swhat this update was all about every time there is a jailbreak that'sconsidered a security vulnerability and Apple needs to patch that and so they'vepatched it on not only iPhone but watch or Apple watch as well as iPadviii home pod Mac as well and so that is the main fix don't expect any newfeatures no major changes within this update there's nothing new as far asthat goes now with that said that doesn't mean they haven't patched otherthings although the update was so small it's hard to say if they fixed anythingwith mail as far as notifications I know quite a few people were having problemswith notifications coming in including myself sometimes they're hit or missmail as far as letting me know that I have email I go into it it has torecheck so those are all known bugs that I've seen over and over and I'm not sureif they'll be patched with this only a few days will tell me that so I did trya few different things on these devices I'll talk about in a moment but let'stalk about battery life then we'll talk about performance and then also futureiOS versions as well as iOS 14 so as far as battery life is concerned

I did afollow up video on iOS 13.5 the other day and 71% said they had the sameor better battery life than the previous public version now some people of coursethose that are having bad battery life are going to be more outspoken aboutthat and you can see my battery health is 98% after this update now updates donot decrease your battery health they simply recheck the physical battery tosee how it's doing and all batteries degrade over time so until someonereleases a new battery that doesn't degrade over time this will continue tobe a thing on all phones all devices that use batteries now over the past 10days that you can see here is my usage and there was a little bit of a hiccupthere but over the past 10 days here's my usage so it varies depending on theday this day was a little bit better so 3 hours and 43 minutes of screen on time2 hours and 54 minutes of screen off time and I used about 40% of my batteryso I'm getting about 10 to 12 hours combined with both screen on and screenoff time which is basically playing music in the background with the displayoff so it's having activities going on with the display off and that's usuallywhat that is so battery life has been fine for me I'm happy with it butobviously there's some that aren't so hopefully it fixes any of those smallissues now as far as performance you saw that that small little hiccup there whenI went into battery but it could be doing something in the background and itusually improves over time and we'll take a look at the benchmarks in amoment but before I started making this videoor recording this video I took a look at this iPhone 7 this is a jet-black iPhone7 it's a kind of a limited color it looks just like an iPhone 8 but it's notand if we go into things like music you'll see it takes a moment to load butin general I went in and I went into things like settings just to see how itwould scroll and I had no lock ups in the time that I've been playing aroundwith it seems to be okay but only time will telljust like better know as far as iPhone 10 are the same thing is true

I wouldnot expect any performance difference across any of these devices because thisis a security update as opposed to a feature update there's nothing new theyjust patched that small security hole or actually it's a pretty major securityhole the same is true with iPad OS iPad OS did not get any updates other thanthat security patch so if you were having issues with it unfortunately Iwould not necessarily expect them to be patched but only time will tell as faras that goes but again everything seems to feel fast and fluid when goingthrough this so it looks to be okay now as far as the Geekbench scores orbenchmarks let's take a look at them I ran it in Geekbench 5 like I normally doso if you're seeing much higher scores you may be in a previous version but Iscored 1317 for single core 3360 one for multi-core and keep in mind I run theseright after I install the update and it takes time usually for things to happenin the background but I do make make sure the phones are cool so usuallythey're a little bit warm after you update because they're processing a lotof data so you can see on June 1st verse May 19th the scores are a little bitlower but again I ran this right after installing it so keep in mind thesescores could go up but they're close enough that I really wouldn't payattention to it it's usually good enough now let's take a look at all of thesedevices so you can compare what I have with what you have now from left toright I have two 20/20 iPad pro 12.9 followed by the iPhone 7 then the iPhone10 R and then the iPhone 11 pro max so this should give you a general idea ofwhat your scores are and if they're anywhere in this general range youshould be good to go now Apple is continuing to work on iOS 13 and willcontinue to work on it probably until next year as far assecurity updates now I would not expect any major feature changes but while Iwas making this video i OS 13.5.5 beta

How to Properly Reset iPhone to factory default

Hello there everybody aaron here for Zollotech andi need to tell you the best way to reset your iphone to production line defaultmeaning that it will be much the same as it was the point at which you took it out of the box for thefirst time and so this will help you erase all datafrom it disassociate it from your accountand make it so the next person that either purchases it or that you give itto or maybe you're returning it can sign in without having to sign in tofind my friends or any of those accounts because it won't be locked to youraccount so in order to do this properly whatyou'll need is a couple things you'll need the device's passcode to unlock itand you'll also need the icloud account password if you don't have that youwon't be able to reset it so if you need to reset that password goto icloud.com and then you can reset your password there now before you eraseeverything on your phone you want to make sure that you have a backup ifyou're going to continue using iphone so if you're going from an old phone toa new phone

i have other videos to show you how to do that and transfer all ofyour settings including the same app layout and all the app dataand messages and everything else but if you want to just have a backup ingeneral make sure that you're either usingitunes on windows itunes on mac on an older mac or you use the finderclick on your device and hit backup now however if you want to back up usingicloud that's even easier as long as you havethe storage available and you do that by going to settingsunder settings tap on your name then under your name or whatever phoneyou're on here you want to go to icloud and undericloud down towards the bottom you'll seeicloud backup and under icloud backup tap on this you'll see that it's on andas long as it's backing up everything

it will give you the last successfulbackup below and as long as it's backed up you're good to gothat will back up not only your settings but your messages your mail settings youmay have to enter a few passwords and things in the futurebut it will back up even the layout of your apps and most of the app data aswell so as long as you have that backing upor you've backed up on itunes you should be good to go and onceyou know that you have your information secure we can move on to removingeverything off the device now in order to reset the phone what youwant to do is once you have that information go into settingsand then at the top you'll have your name or someone else's name whoever's itis tap on the name here and go down to findmy we need to turn off find my if it's on so tap on find my andyou'll see it says find my iphone and it's onon my device so i need to turn this off now in order to turn this off i need myicloud password so go ahead and tap on find my iphoneand then turn off find my iphone it will pop up asking for your apple idpassword once you put this in it will turn it off now that find my iphone isoff we want to remove it from our account aswell this will make it easier in the futureunless you're setting it up for yourself so let's go ahead and do that so we'llgo back now once you've turned off find my iphoneon the same account page we need to scroll to the bottom to turn off icloudand disassociate the phone from our account so let's go ahead and scrolldown and all the way at the bottom it sayssign out

so we'll tap on sign out now it's saying do you want to keepa copy of your data on this phone and you don't want to do that if you'reerasing the phone so make sure all of these are turned offif you did want to keep this and sign in with another icloud id then you wouldleave those on otherwise keep them off and hit sign outand it says are you sure you want to sign out and then go ahead and hit signout and then it says copying icloud datathat's just to the cloud you won't necessarily have that on thisphone and then we'll erase the phone in just a moment once we've signed outnow once you've signed out of the iphone what you'll need to do is go down andreset it so under the main settings just scroll downand go to general scroll all the way to the bottom ofgeneral and then you have reset so we'll tap on reset and thenthere's a few options here we want to eraseall content and settings so all of these other things don't mattererase all content and settings and then it's going to ask you for the passcodeof the device itself so maybe your touch id wasn't workingit's that same passcode and this will work for face id phones aswell once you've put that passcode in it's asking you if you want to erase itagain it's just a safety check so it says this will delete all media and dataand reset all settings so you want to hit eraseiphone and then you'll have to hit erase iphone againand it will take a moment and the phone will reboot now the same thing appliesto all iphones so this is my iphone 11 pro maxand you can see here it says erase iphone if i hit erase and erase againit will wipe the phone so that's how you completely wipe it we'll wait for thisto reboot and you'll see that it's back at thesetup screen now will take a little bit of time toerase and reset and once it's done it will look just like this and you'reat the main startup screen again and so this is where you can set yourphone up we just press home to open on this phone and we'll startset it up just like it was new you can hand this to someone else to usegive it to someone else sell it return it either way all of your informationhas been removed from the phone and it's good to go it won't beassociated with your icloud account and it won't beactivation locked or anything like that so you'll be good to use ithand it to someone else and you're all set and if you don't have the wallpaperfrom the iphone se that i have here from 2020 i'll link it in the description foryou just like i always do in all my other videosif you haven't subscribed already please subscribe and if you enjoyed the videoplease give it a like as always thanks for watching this isAaron i'll see you next time you

So as you may already know, there are two types of locks. First, you have the carrier unlock and then you have the passcode unlock. The carrier unlock is if your phone is currently locked for a specific network. Let's say you bought your phone with AT& amp; T and you want to unlock it, use it with T-Mobile or any other carrier, I'm gonna show you to unlock your phone so that you can use it with any carrier of your choice. And then you have the passcode lock. The passcode lock, for example, is if you forgot the security code of your phone and you're locked out. So, I'm gonna show you how to access your phone again. It's very simple, so, I'm gonna show you how to do it step-by-step. We're gonna start first with the passcode unlocks and then we're gonna go to the carrier unlock.

If you're interested only on the carrier unlock, make sure you skip to this minute to jump straight into that part of the video. Okay, so for the passcode unlock there are a few things you need to consider before proceeding. The first thing is that if your phone has an iCloud lock, we're not gonna be able to unlock it. There's no way around an iCloud lock. The second part is that all the information on that phone is gonna be deleted, so make sure you have a backup somewhere in a computer or in a cloud or all the photos, pictures, contacts, everything is gonna is gone. Okay, so now I'm gonna turn the camera so you can see what I'm currently doing with my phone. So, connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable and then you have to run the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Okay, the next step is to enter recovery mode on your iPhone. So press and hold the power offkey until you get the switch to power it off. So right after you slide to power off, you're gonna press and hold the volume down key and the side key. Continue holding it until you see the interface with the iTunes logo.You're gonna see something just like this. It's gonna take like 10 seconds and if you don't get it the first time, you can try again and again; it's quite tricky to get it the first time. So, if you did it correctly, you're going to get a message in iTunes saying that your phone has been detected as recovery mode. So click restore and it's gonna erase all the information of your phone.

So, keep in mind that all the data, all the information is gonna be gone. So after this is done, you're going to able to use your phone. Your phone is gonna be restored and it's gonna be back as if it was completely new. So, this is gonna take a while and I'm gonna fast forward the camera and I'm gonna be back once this is completed. So, as you can see here, my phone was restored to factory settings and now you can restore from a previous backup you had or you can set it up as a new iPhone. If your phone is locked with an iCloud account, the only way to bypass this is by entering the correct password of that account. So you need to contact the previous owner this phone to unlock the iCloud account. So, I have my phone here and, boom, it is now fully unlocked. Okay, so now we're going to doa factory unlock on this phone so that you're able to use it with any GSM carrier in the world. It's super simple and I'm gonna show you step-by-step. Okay, to unlock a phone, there are basically three options. The first option is to take your phone to a local phone shop.

The second option is to take your phone to your carrier and ask them to unlock it for you. And the third option, my personal favorite, is to do it yourself from your computer and that's the simplest and fastest way to unlock your phone. Now, keep in mind that unlocking your phone is not free. Your phone won't be damaged in any way, Your warranty won't be voided. In fact, if you unlock your phone, your phone will become more valuable and you will be able to resell it at a higher price because it will be compatible with all carriers. I have unlocked hundreds of phones this way so it's, by far, my favorite method. Okay, so grab your phone and I'm gonna show you how to unlock it. I'm gonna switch cameras. All right, guys, so,to unlock your phone, the first thing you want to do is to get your phone's IMEI number. To do this, simply grab your phone, open the phone application, and dial *#06# As you will see, your phone semi number will appear on the screen. This is very, very important, guys. This number is the way Apple will identify your phone. This is a unique number, it is 15 digits long and we're gonna use this number in a few seconds to unlock this phone, so, keep it somewhere close or write it down somewhere. Okay, now we're gonna switch to the computer. So, I'm gonna put this phone down and now it's time to use the internet.

So, we're gonna go to the computer and we're gonna go to the website UnlockRiver.com On this website, we're gonna unlock this phone. We're gonna request their remote unlocking of this iPhone X. So this is very fast, very simple and we're gonna start by selecting the original carrier that your phone is currently locked. I bought my phone on AT& amp; T, United States, so I'm gonna select that one. And then go ahead and select your brand. So we're gonna select Apple. We're gonna select the model, iPhone X.
