She knows that some schools nationwide have had to close because the disease was widespread, and she has mixed feelings about the school closures.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"I hate to close schools, because it interrupts learning, but we leave it up to health professionals," said Poyer, who lives in Deansboro, New York.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Federal health officials, releasing guidelines Friday, suggested that closure of schools this fall be rare. "There are measures we can take to protect the students, protect the staff, and to allow learning to continue," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A key change in the new guidance is that people with H1N1 should stay out of school for 24 hours after their fever is gone, regardless of whether they are taking medication such as Tamiflu. There is usually someone dying from one every three minutes. There are so many people that are killed each year from this devastating disease. A stroke will happen when the blood vessels that take the oxygen and nutrients to the brain are either blocked with a clot or they erupt. When this does happen, part of the brain cannot get the blood it needs for oxygen that it needs to survive.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When part of the brain dies from lack of blood flow the part of the body that it controls is going to be affected. A stroke can cause paralysis and affect language and vision and cause other problems as well. There are treatments that are available to lessen the potentially devastating effects that a stroke may have on them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many risk factors for someone having a stroke. &lt;br /&gt;A person can have a stroke if they are not using a good diet or have bad eating habits. Not getting the right amount of exercise can also lead someone to having a stroke. It is important to eat right and use some form of exercise daily to keep your body motivated and able to continuing running the way that it should with no risk for a stroke.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Smoking is another cause for many to have a stroke. A stroke can happen to anyone for any reason at any moment in the day. There are about 600,000 people that have strokes every year. For many of these years, there was no hope for anyone suffering from a stroke. In the recent years and different breakthroughs, they have found new treatments to help people get through these difficult times and move on to better things ahead of them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many warning signs of a stroke about to come on. You have to make sure that you are aware of them so that you are not putting yourself at risk for more problems later on down the road. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you think that you may be having symptoms of a stroke, you need to call 911 right away. They could also be relevant to elderly people or those with cardiovascular, respiratory or metabolic diseases.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The research team conducted their study with eight men aged between 19 and 38. They were given 500ml per day of organic beetroot juice for six consecutive days before completing a series of tests, involving cycling on an exercise bike. On another occasion, they were given a placebo of blackcurrant cordial for six consecutive days before completing the same cycling tests.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;After drinking beetroot juice the group was able to cycle for an average of 11.25 minutes, which is 92 seconds longer than when they were given the placebo. This would translate into an approximate 2% reduction in the time taken to cover a set distance. The group that had consumed the beetroot juice also had lower resting blood pressure.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The researchers are not yet sure of the exact mechanism that causes the nitrate in the beetroot juice to boost stamina. However, they suspect it could be a result of the nitrate turning into nitric oxide in the body, reducing the oxygen cost of exercise. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The research was carried out by the University of Exeter and &lt;a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://www.pms.ac.uk/pms/index2.php"&gt;Peninsula Medical School&lt;/a&gt; and published in the &lt;em&gt;Journal of Applied Physiology&lt;/em&gt;. Physicians have confirmed that in recent times the  number of flu cases being detected in clinics has gone up.  In the face of this  it has become clear that flu vaccination is a good thing and should be  administered as early as possible. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For example, people over the age of  30 are able to move around and do not suffer much if they are administered the  flu vaccine. This is in sharp contrast to younger people (over 30) who do not  receive a vaccination and suffer from body pains, high fever, and are often bed  ridden for more than a week. The worst part of flu is that you are unable to eat  properly thus compounding your weakness.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Without flu vaccination, the  patients are likely to feel very bad not only physically but emotional and  mentally as well. This condition can last for up to two weeks leaving behind a  much-weakened individual. It should be noted that during follow-up these  patients were quick to ask as to when they could get their flu shot because no  one would want to go through that nightmare experience again.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Seasonal  flu can be a very devastating time for someone in good condition. For the  elderly or the infirmed, flu can even cause death. There are several categories  of people that need to be vaccinated against flu.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These include people  in the health care industry, anyone over 50 years of age, children between 6  months and 5 years, pregnant women, and anyone who is residing long-term in a  nursing home or other healthcare facility.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Children between 6 months and  18 years of age that are on aspirin therapy also need flu vaccine. Anyone  suffering from a chronic condition such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood  pressure, and so on should also be vaccinated. Anyone suffering from immune  system disorders or respiratory disorders also needs flu vaccine. The same  applies to anyone living with any of the above category of individuals. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Note that the flu vaccine is not a guarantee that you will never catch  flu. What the vaccine will do is to lower the problems that arise once you catch  it. If you are  afraid of needles then you can get the nasal spray form of the flu vaccine. One theory is that it is used by the body when fighting the free radicals in smoke and to prevent the formation of nitrosamines - cancer forming agents made from nitrogen compounds in food. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tests have shown that smokers can have up to 30% less vitamin C in the blood than non-smokers, since smokers use up vitamin c at a faster rate they should eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to ensure an adequate intake of vitamin c. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Department of health recomends that smokers have a daily intake of 40 to 80mg more vitamin C than the 40mg recommended for non-smokers. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Vitamin C and E and beta-carotene are used by the body as antioxidants to destroy free radicals, found in cigarette smoke. &lt;br /&gt;good sources of vitamin E can be found in wheatgerma, advcardo's, nuts, vegetable oils and seeds. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Somking depletes the body of vitamin B due to the increased load on the liver. &lt;br /&gt;vitamin B12 is used for the detoxification of cyanide found in cigarette smoke vitamin B can be found in whole grains and lean meats and fish. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is almost never too late to giveup smoking and there is always a health gain. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Irritation of the lungs and nasal passages will reduce almost immediately&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;20 min after stopping blood pressure returns to normal. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;8 hours Nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in blood reduce by half, oxygen levels return to normal&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;24 hours Carbon monoxide will be eliminated from the body. ban&lt;br /&gt;will it make people healthier I am not sure for the ones&lt;br /&gt;that give up yes but for the ones that can not kick the&lt;br /&gt;habit and will be standing in rain and snow i'm not so&lt;br /&gt;sure will there be more cases of flu and days off work&lt;br /&gt;will it hurt the pub trade i'm sure it will and what about&lt;br /&gt;the stress out people trying to give up will like going in to&lt;br /&gt;work with half the people on PMT on a bad day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My advise is if you smoke and plan to give up then you&lt;br /&gt;need to do things that you don't associate with smoking&lt;br /&gt;so in the morning if you start your day with a coffee and&lt;br /&gt;ciggy get up and have tea instead try to do things which&lt;br /&gt;should help to ease the way through the day remember a&lt;br /&gt;craving only lasts two minuets then goes away till the&lt;br /&gt;next it strikes put the money you save towards something&lt;br /&gt;you want so you see the saving and take it one day at a&lt;br /&gt;time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;these are the tactics I will be using good luck too all trying&lt;br /&gt;to kick the habit :-)&lt;div your eyes slope downwards at the &lt;br /&gt;corners, this can make your face look&lt;br /&gt;tired and sad. Using makeup you can &lt;br /&gt;lift them to give a younger expression.&lt;br /&gt;There are a couple of techniques that&lt;br /&gt;you can use with makeup in order to &lt;br /&gt;create this look. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Method 1- Using Eyeliner&lt;br /&gt;Take a dark eased and using a&lt;br /&gt;fine eyeliner brush, line the eye&lt;br /&gt;all around. Make a thick and strong &lt;br /&gt;line on the upper eye lashes and &lt;br /&gt;increase thickness toward the outer &lt;br /&gt;corner making sure you blend the &lt;br /&gt;colour upwards. At the lower lash, &lt;br /&gt;draw a thin line in the inner corner &lt;br /&gt;and gently thicken out as it meets &lt;br /&gt;the the other line in the outer corner.&lt;br /&gt;This gives an effect of lifting and &lt;br /&gt;elongating the eye.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;method 2- Applying Eye Shadow &lt;br /&gt;To get the effect of a natural eye you should &lt;br /&gt;focus colour on the centre and inner corner&lt;br /&gt;of the eye.This is called the contour technique.&lt;br /&gt;Use a neutral eye shadow and apply all over&lt;br /&gt;the lid until you reach the crease; be sure to &lt;br /&gt;add a darker shade near the crease starting &lt;br /&gt;from the center and finishing about three &lt;br /&gt;quarters of the way along the eye. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Use a fine brush and dark shadow,  line the&lt;br /&gt;upper lash starting in from the outer corner. &lt;br /&gt;As you progress to the inner corner of the &lt;br /&gt;eye, taper the line and then repeat on lower &lt;br /&gt;lash line remembering to highlight under the &lt;br /&gt;brow by the outer corner.
