Every two months, begin a vitamin program. The vitamin program should last two months, meaning you’ll have two months “ON” and two months “OFF”. Repeat this process three times per year.

2. Write down your food choices in a diet journal at least one week in a month. It will help to track of what you’re putting into your body and will help identify mistakes you are making. A Calculator, kitchen scale and calorie counting chart are also beneficial aids in monitoring food intake. Don’t forget to count and note; only this will help you work out food discipline.

3. Don’t forget about the importance of eating on a regular basis. Eating 3-4 times is a optimal. It’s also preferable to eat at the same periods of time each day with at least a 5-7 hour break from the time you go to sleep until your morning meal.

4. A Fasting is welcome addition to any diet plan. One day a week (Tuesdays are recommended) limit your diet to Fruits and Vegetable soups. This will give you a total of 4 fast days per month and 48 fast days per year.

5. Keep your food choices within the recommended guidelines: 25% fats, 25% proteins, 25% complex carbohydrates and remaining 25% fruits and vegetables. For an example : 100 calories can be found in 16.5g of butter, 1.5g of an egg, 30g of bread, or 400g cabbage salad mixed with lemon juice. All together 400 calories.

6. “Falling off” your diet plan is understandable as long as you immediately get back on track.

7. Don’t forget to drink water regularly. Don’t drink water while eating; only 15-20 minutes beforehand. However it should be put off for at least an hour after eating. Remember drinks have calories too.

8. The best supervisor of your new diet system is a scale and measuring tape. You must check your weight and proportions with your stomach empty, preferably after using the bathroom. Also be sure to check in the morning on the same days each each month (ideally twice a month) and write the data into your diet journal.

9. Exercise is a natural, permanent and effective addition to any diet. Keep yourself active and avoid being lazy at all costs.

10. The most indigestible thing we have is our thoughts. The more you concentrate on breakdowns and blame yourself, the less chance you have to succeed. Don’t turn yourself into a diet maniac by leaving aside the joys of life.

Try 9 Things To Be Happy

Try this Surprising ways to improve your mood instantaneously. When you act in a friendly way, not only will others feel friendlier toward you, but you’ll also strengthen your feelings of friendliness for other people.

4. Rid yourself of a nagging task. Deal with that insurance problem, purchase something you need, or make that long postponed appointments. Crossing an irksome chore off your to-do list will give you a big rush of elation.

5. Create a more serene environment. Outer order contributes to inner peace, so spend some time cleaning off your desk tackling the piles in the kitchen. A large stack of little tasks can feel overwhelming, but often just a few minutes of work can make sizable dent. Set the timer for 10 minutes and see what you can do.

6. Do a good deed. Introduce two people by e-mail, take a minute to pass along useful information, or deliver some gratifying praise. Infact you can also… … …

7. Save someone’s life. Sign up to be an organ donor, and remember to tell your family about your decision. “Do good, feel good” – it really works!

8. Act happy. Fake it till you feel it. Research shows that even an artificially induced smile boosts your mood. And if you are smiling, other people will perceive you as being friendlier and more approachable.

9. Learn something new. Think of a subject that you wish you knew more about and spend 15 minutes on the internet reading or read a book about it. But be honest! Pick a topic that really interests you, not something you think you “should” or “need” to learn about.

The research shows that happier people are more sociable, likable, healthy, and productive and they are more inclined to help others. By working to boost your own happiness, you’re making others happier, too… … …

All About The Heart–A Nonstop Pump

Introduction

We see and hear about our heart, a non-stop worker of our body somewhere. Previously peoples thought that their emotions came from their hearts, maybe because the heart beats faster when a person is scared or excited. Now we came to know that the emotions come from the, and that brain tells the heart what to do. Here Let us know the A-Z things about that Non-stop worker, the Heart elaborately.

Location

Your heart is located a little to the left of the middle of your chest, and it’s about the size of your fist. No muscle is as special as your heart muscle, because of what it does. The Heart pumps the blood around your body with oxygen and nutrients which your body needs. It also carries the waste that your body has get rid of. The right side of your heart receives the blood from the body and pumps it to the Lungs. The left side receives blood from lungs and pumps it out to the body.

An Amazing Job

How does the heart beat? Before each beat, it fills with blood. Then its muscle contracts to squirt the blood along. When it contracts, it squeezes – try squeezing your hand into a fist. That’s sort of like what your heart does this all 24X365 hours. Everyday, an adult heart pumps 2000 gallons (7500 ltrs) of blood by filling and contracting and sending the blood around and around again. What a amazing work it is!

Parts of the Heart and Controls

(refer above figure)

The Heart is made up of four different blood-filled areas named as chambers. And there are two chambers on each side of the Heart at Top and Bottom. The Two Top chambers and other two bottom chambers are called as “auricles” and “ventricles” respectively.

The auricles are the chambers that fill with the blood returning to the heart from the body and lungs. The Ventricles job is to squirt out the blood to the body and lungs. Running down the middle of the Heart is a thick wall of muscle called the “septum”, a separator muscle of right and left heart.

The auricles and ventricles work as a team- the auricle fill with blood, then dump it into the ventricles. While Ventricles pump the blood out the heart, the auricles refill and get ready for the next contraction. This pumping system is controlled by four valves. Two of them are called as “mitral” and “tricuspid” valves, and they let blood flow from the auricles to ventricles. The other two are called the “aortic” and “pulmonary” valves, and they are in change of controlling the flow as the blood leaves the heart. These valves all work to keep the blood flowing forward. They open up to let the blood move ahead, then they close quickly to keep the blood from flowing backward.

Circulation – The Blood Movement

Do you know how much time the blood takes for one Circulation? Only 20 seconds. In this every 20 second the blood pumped to each and every cell in the body. Your Body needs this steady supply of blood to keep it working right. It also needs the blood to get rid of the waste that would make your body sick if it stuck around.

The left side of your Heart sends blood to the body, which contains lot of oxygen, the one of the things that your cells need to stay alive. The body takes the oxygen out of the blood and uses it in your body cells. Thus the blood has done its job by delivering the oxygen to the cells, and now it’s time to pick up the Trash – the Carbon-dioxide and other wastes.

Each time of the blood circulation, about 20% of it goes through the where some of the waste is taken out, and then the blood to be carried away. The right side of the heart is ready for the hands off. It takes the blood to the lungs for a little freshening up. The Carbon dioxide leaves the blood by getting breathed out by the lungs, and the oxygen gets into the blood from the air we breathed in. Now the blood has got the oxygen it needs to go back to the left side of the heart and start its cycle overall. You might think that this process takes near about 10 to 15 minutes. No its takes only half a minute.

The above all circulation of blood is done by the blood vessels which was attached to the heart to overall our body.Simply Blood vessels are nothing but the tubes that carry the blood around the body, also named as “veins and arteries”.

The NonStop Music Lub-Dub

When you go for a check up, your doctor listens carefully the Lub-Dub, your heart beat which the healthy heart makes evenly. This sound comes from the valves opening and shutting on the blood inside the heart. The sound “Lub” happens when the blood hits the mitral and tricuspid valves between the artria and ventricles. The next “Dub” happens when the blood hits aortic and pulmonic valves that close up after the blood has been squeezed out of the heart and as the heart relaxes to fill with blood for the next beat. A Healthy heart beats 70 to 100 times per minute, when you are resting. When you run around a lot, your body needs a lot more oxygen filled blood. Hence the heart pumps faster to supply the oxygen filled blood that your body needs.

Keep Your Heart Happy

Most kids are born with a healthy heart and it’s important to keep yours in good shape. Here are some things that you can do to help keep your heart happy:

· Remember that your heart is a muscle. Just like you need to exercise your leg and arm muscles, you need to exercise your heart too. Aerobic exercises like walking, running and swimming, is a great way to keep your heart in shape.

· Eating a variety of healthy foods is great for your heart. Avoiding a lot of high fat foods will help to keep your heart happy too.

· Stay away from smoking! Smoking is bad for every part of your body, and especially your heart. Your heart and blood vessels hate cigarettes because smoking makes their jobs much harder and can damage them.

So now you know that your heart started pumping blood before you were born, and will continue pumping throughout your whole life. So take good care of your heart and it will take extreme care of you!

Exercises - Overhauling Your Body

Why Exercise is Cool?

Most People know what exercise is, but do you know why exercise is so important? It isn’t so you can look all sweaty like people on TV commercials for exercise equipment. And it isn’t so you can have huge muscles to bust out of your clothes like a superhero, either.

Exercise is important because it keeps people’s bodies and minds healthy. Without exercise, we wouldn’t be feeling or looking very good. Actually, there are so many reasons why exercise is good for you, it’s time to get right into it and see why it’s cool to be fit!

Exercise Makes Your Heart Happy

Your is one hardworking part, pumping blood everyday of your life. The heart is a muscle, and it’s strongest muscle in your body – but it’s always looking to become even stronger! Since it can’t lift weights to get stronger, it relies on you to do aerobic exercise.

Aerobic is a fancy word for needing oxygen, and aerobic exercise is any kind of activity that makes your muscles use oxygen. Aerobic exercise is repetitive, meaning it’s an activity you do over and over, to keep bringing fresh oxygen to all of your muscles. When you do aerobic exercise and bring in that oxygen, your heart becomes stronger. The number of blood cells in your blood increases, so the blood can carry even more oxygen. The blood in your body even moves more easily through the blood vessels. All these things mean that your body works more efficiently to keep you healthy, and you can do lots of exercise without getting worn out. Aerobic exercise is A- OK!

It’s good idea for kids to do some kind of aerobic exercise two or three times a week, for 20 to 30 minutes at a time. So how can kids bring on the oxygen? It’s not hard to do- some excellent aerobic activities are swimming, basket ball, ice or roller hockey, Jogging ,(or walking quickly), soccer, biking and rowing. Even dancing, skipping, jumping rope, and playing hopscotch are aerobic activities!

Exercise Makes Muscles

All the muscles in your body do a fine job when you use them for easy stuff, like picking up a book walking down the stairs. But what about using them for harder stuff, like taking long bike rides or climbing a tree? That’s where exercise, come in: it makes your muscles get stronger and sometime larger. As your muscles get stronger, you can do more active things for long period of time. And strong muscles also help protect you from injuries when you exercise, because they give better support to your joints (where your bones meet).

Building up all different types of muscles is easy to do. For awesome arms, try push-ups, pull-ups, tug-of-war, or twirling a baton. And don’t forget the strength of the sea: rowing in rowboat or canoe is great for building strong arm muscles. For strong leg muscles, try running, blading, skating, and bike riding. And for strong stomach muscles, try some half sit-ups (with your knees bent and your feet on the floor), bike riding, or even twirling a hula hoop around your waist. Now that’s fun exercise!

Exercise Makes You Flexibles

Can you touch your toes easily without yelling “ouch”? Most kids are pretty flexible, which means that they can bend and stretch their bodies without too much trouble. But as people get older they tend to get less flexible, so that’s why it’s important to exercise when you‘re a kid so you can stay flexible. Plus, when you’re flexible, you can be more active without having to worry about getting sprains and strained muscles.

Luckily, It’s easy to find things to do for good flexibility! Have you ever tried tumbling? Tumbling and gymnastics are great ways to become more flexible. And say “yes” to yoga for excellent flexibility. Don’t forget dancing, epecially ballet. And for fans of karate, tae kwon do, and other martial arts, you’re in luck: these sports are great for flexibility – you’ll be feeling fine and having fun!

Exercise Keeps You At Healthy Weight

Every time you eat food, your body does the same thing: it uses some of the nutrients in the food as fuel. It burns these nutrients to give us energy or calories. You need calories for all of your body‘s functions, whether it’s things you think about doing, like brushing your teeth, or things you never think about doing , like breathing. So it’s important for kids to get all the calories they need from the foods they eat.

But if the body isn’t able to use all the calories that are coming from food , it stores them away as fat. And that’s why exercise helps keep a kid at a weight that’s right for his height, by burning up extra calories. When you exercise, your body uses that extra fuel to keep you going strong.

Take Healthy To Stay Wealthy

Good eating habits are necessary for you to be at your best. Avoiding these habits will keep you in better shape.

Skipping Meals:

It is the worst thing you can ever do to your body. The senior consultant of Max Hospital, Dr.Shubnam Singh says, “Eating several small meals keeps your calorie intake and blood sugar level Balanced.” “Breakfast is the most important meal. Your body needs it, and if you don’t eat it, your metabolism will suffer” Dr.Singh adds.

Weekend Splurges:

If you think maintaining a balanced diet on week days is good enough reason to stuff yourself with high-cal foods on weekends, it’s time to think again. Says Dr.singh: “those extra calories can add a few pounds a year to your weight.”

Fast Foods:

Everyone gorges on fast food once in a while. Says Dr.Atul mathur, senior consultant Escorts Heart Institute & Research Centre: “Such foods contain lots of chemicals & artificial substances. Therefore, they cannot provide your body with necessary nutrients elements it needs to stay healthy.”

Drinking water during meals:

Says Dr.Mathur: “For a good digestion, it is recommended that you drink water only between meals or at least half an hour before or after meals. If you drink water during the meals, it dilutes the gastric juices, and results in poor digestion”.

Ignoring the Labels:

Everybody needs a daily calorie budget. To make sure you don’t exceed yours, you need to start reading labels. Says Dr.Singh: “I recommend that you read labels to find out about calories per serving. Next, look for the amount of Soya, sodium & fibre they contains. “Yes, comparing product labels will take up some additional time, but it’s a lot smarter than just grabbing a packet with a familiar & famous brand name.

Keep Existing Wealth by Keeping Good Health

Walking - A Talk about Walk

• I have two doctors, my left leg and my right.- By G.M.Trevelyan

Much has been written and said about the joys and benefits of walking. It’s perhaps one of the gentlest, most inexpensive, most sustainable and universal ways of staying healthy.

There’s nothing wrong with that except that you could use your daily walk to do more than just improve your physical health. By walking ‘mindfully’, you can make a wonderful way of relaxing and de-stressing.

But how many times have you walked without having noticed a single thing on your way, either because you were too busy either chatting with your ‘walking friends’ or caught in your thoughts.

Are you ready to walk? Let us come with me.

First, make sure you are dressed right – loose, comfortable clothing, nothing that will slip off, needs holding on to or constant adjustment, nothing that is too loose, too tight etc. Your feet should be in a pair of Sturdy, comfortably fitting walking shoes. No slippers please. They may slip off, make flapping noises. And require too much of your attention.

Now, just before you set off, take a few minutes to stand still and straight, but not stiff. Gently close your eyes and bring your attention to your body. First, focus on your feet and the feel of the ground under them. If you find that you are standing unevenly, that is, with more pressure on one foot than the other or the full foot not pressed to the ground, then gently adjust your stance.

Slowly, feel your shoulders straighten up, your chest open out, Now gently shrug your shoulders, as if you are shaking off whatever baggage of plans/worries/schedules/pending business that you have and imagine them lying there in a pile at the door. Relax, feel your mind emptying out. Take a few deep breaths, open your eyes, look at whatever sight meets your eyes with a new awareness, and start walking.

Keeps your walking effortless, neither pushing yourself too fast nor slowing down so much that you notice. As you walk, become aware of everything that’s happening to you and around you. Feel the way your foot meets the ground and then lifts up again. Feel the rhythm of your walk in your body. Left, right, left right – not a hard marching cadence, but a slow, easy tempo and watch as your breath synchronizes with that rhythm. In, out, right, in out, left right.

Finally, when you are at the end of your walk, find a quiet spot and sit down. Then, with your eyes open or closed, observe one thing after another. The way the sweat feels on your brow as it evaporates. The way the air feels on your skin as it touches it and moves on. The way your chest is moving up and down as you breathe and your breath slowing down as you relax. Feel yourself become fresh, alive, alert and ready to face anything.

• Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time – By Steven Wright

7 Days Weight Loss Program

This has proved to be the very effective weight loss Diet for 7 days.
