<p>The most important thing to do is to go see your doctor as soon as possible because an Athlete&#8217;s Foot that is not treated can spread to other parts of the body and other people that may have come in contact with the affected area.</p>
<p>A worsened case of Athlete&#8217;s Foot can be detrimental to the victim&#8217;s daily activities and to his or her surroundings so immediate attention and care should be given. As for preventive measures, just practice cleanliness in all that you do and you are one step ahead in stopping the spread of fungus and bacteria.</p>

<p>Estrogen</p>
<p>For starters, oestrogen functions as the primary female sex hormone composed of a group of steroid compounds, named for their significance in the oestrus cycle. It may be existent in both men and women, but they are usually present at extensively higher levels in women of reproductive age. At such period, oestrogen support the development of secondary female sex features, such as breasts, and are also involved in the thickening of the endometrium and other aspects of regulating the menstrual series.</p>
<p>Sources of oestrogen include the ovaries, the corpus luteum, and the placenta. Smaller amounts of it are found in the liver, adrenal glands, and breasts. These secondary sources are known to be very beneficial to post-menopausal women.</p>
<p>Downfall of Estrogen</p>
<p>In the later part of a woman&#8217;s life, around the age of 50, her ovaries face the tide of menopause, a period when it finally ceases producing estrogens. For ladies who wish to avoid discomfort and the agony of health problems caused by diminished circulating estrogens, Estrogen Replacement Therapy (or ERT) is an option to choose. The treatment involves a sequence of drugs intended to synthetically boost hormone levels.</p>
<p>As the name suggests, ERT replaces hormones which the ovaries no longer produce, either through natural or surgical menopause, and provides relief from the horrible symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes and night sweats.</p>
<p>Types</p>
<p>There are certain substances that are used in the ERT: such as conjugated estrogens or conjugated equine estrogens under the brand name of Premarin; patch; estrogens made of singular estrogen compounds; drugs such as raloxifene and alendronate; herbal remedies such as Black Cohosh, known to help reduce menopausal symptoms; and other hormones involved such as progesterone or progestins,.</p>
<p>Pros and Cons</p>
<p>The ERT have its own share of pros and cons to the lifestyle of women. It really does change ladies&#8217; lives in an overwhelmingly excellent way. But at the same time, one would have to weigh the consequences it provides before deciding to undertake such therapy.</p>
<p>However the consequences, advantages seem to outnumber them. The use of conjugated estrogens is usually known for significant drop in the occurrence of heart disease and osteoporosis, including a decrease of approximately 10% in the incidence of heart disease and stroke, over non-estrogen users.</p>
<p>The levels of PA-1 are discovered to plunge down by around 50% when an intake of Conjugated estrogens is done with or without the presence of progestins. PA-1 is said to be the vital inhibitor of fibrinolysis which multiplies in women after menopause and may risk a lady&#8217;s life of cardiovascular disease.</p>
<p>If you really need it and if you have the right amount of money, why not undergo ERT? But always remember to weigh the pros and cons that ERT provides. It has a lot of incentives but the fact that it increases the risk of breast cancer; it is advisable for women whose ancestors had breast cancer in the past and those who previously had one, to stay away from ERT.</p>

<p>It is known to many that proper diet, regular exercise, and utmost discipline are the basic ingredients in achieving balanced and healthy living. But more often than not, people who are either obese of morbidly obese do not adhere to these guiding principles on how to achieve those weight loss goals and often experience severe results.</p>
<p>ALL ABOUT LOW FAT DIETS</p>
<p>Through the years, statistics continues to show that 95 percent of people who try traditional diets fail. These studies also show that improper dieting have caused miserable suffering to those have tried it because they underwent drastic food restriction and deprivation. Aside from the depression caused by failed diet and failure of short-term weight loss goal, these people have also developed chronic illnesses.</p>
<p>One of major reasons why people become obese is that they have high blood cholesterol levels due to fat intake. If you want to achieve your desired weight, make sure that you familiarize yourself first with fats. Basically, there are two major types of dietary fat-the saturated and unsaturated fat. Saturated fats may lead to the increase of cholesterol in the blood while eating unsaturated fats or oils can help decrease cholesterol levels. Fats are also categorized as &#8220;low fat&#8221; which has 20 to 30 percent of calories derived from fats and &#8220;very low fat&#8221; that has 0 to 19 percent of calories from fats.</p>
<p>Experts say that fat has more than twice the calories as the same amount of protein or carbohydrate this is why a good low fat diet can be helpful in the reduction of weight gain and lowering blood cholesterol as well. Over the years, health authorities and experts agree low fat diets are the best because these enable people to control over weight through lowered fat consumption.</p>
<p>The most typical low fat diets include the Ornish Diet, the Pritikin Diet, Hip and Thigh Diet, Scarsdale Diet, F-Plan Again Diet, Mayo Clinic Plan, Rice Diet, Weight Watchers Diet, Jenny Craig Diet, The 3-Hour Diet, and Anne Collins Diet Program that offer different low fat diets.</p>
<p>Here are some ways to eat less fat:</p>
<p>1. Try eating fewer fried foods. Instead of eating fried foods, opt for grilled, boiled, baked, poached, steamed or dry roasted foods.</p>
<p>2. Stop adding butter, lard, and margarine to food while preparing and cooking. Also, spare yourself from spreads.</p>
<p>3. Cut down on visible fat from meat.</p>
<p>4. Eat less fatty meat products like sausages, burgers, meat pies, and pasties.</p>
<p>5. Consume semi-skimmed or skimmed milk instead of drinking whole milk.</p>
<p>6. Try eating low-fat or reduced-fat varieties of cheeses.</p>
<p>7. Eat lesser high-fat foods like crisps, chocolates, cakes, pastry products, biscuits, and pizzas.</p>
<p>8. Drink low-fat or natural yogurts or creams.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Caffeine is one of those things that you might ingest even if you make valid attempts not to. It is addictive and it shows up in all types of food and drinks. Caffeine is also found in many prescription medications which many people do not know about. Caffeine as most know it is something that is in cola, coffee, tea, and chocolate. Most people also know that caffeine can cause insomnia which is why many people avoid such drinks as pop and coffee in the evening hours. Yet, millions of Americans begin their day with a fresh hot cup of coffee or tea because they claim it gives them the boost that they need to get going.</p>
<p>Besides being addictive, caffeine stimulates the brain in ways similar to amphetamines and even though it is much milder, it still stimulates the brain similar to that of a drug. Caffeine is linked to many cases of insomnia, as a matter of fact it is the biggest substance linked to insomnia. Another way that caffeine can hinder sleep is because it is a diuretic which stimulates the kidneys causing people to have to urinate more frequently than normal and very often throughout the night.</p>
<p>It is said that only 100-200 milligrams of caffeine can relieve drowsiness. Having said that, consider the following, 1 espresso has 200 mgs of caffeine, 1 cup of coffee has 100mgs of caffeine, a 12 oz can of cola has 45 mgs of caffeine, 1 Midol has 32 mgs and 1 Excedrin has 85 mgs. Now take a look at this, a cup of decaf coffee only has 3 mgs of caffeine and since caffeine has no flavor, color or odor, there sure can not be any reason that you can not enjoy that cup of coffee any time that you want to and still be able to get to sleep at night.</p>
<p>Some people are sensitive to caffeine while others are not but if you find a relationship between a bad night&#8217;s sleep and your caffeine intake that does not mean that you can not enjoy a cup of coffee or even a cola, just make sure they are caffeine free. The most common sources of caffeine are coffee, cocoa beans, cola nuts, and tea leaves. The amount of caffeine that is in products depends on the serving size, the product, and how it is prepared. People differ greatly in their sensitivity to caffeine and many develop a tolerance for it.</p>
<p>Many people feel a jittery feeling from caffeine and learn very quickly to avoid caffeine after a certain time if they plan on sleeping. Caffeine increases the secretion of stress hormones such as adrenaline so if a person is already secreting higher stress hormones then caffeine could cause a rapid increase that would definitely trigger a period of insomnia. People usually do not give a lot of thought to their caffeine intake but believe it or not, caffeine used to be used in clinical settings to induce panic attacks in patients. That gives you something to think about!</p>

<p>But food is not only good as energy sources to our muscles. They also hold substances that promote our health, boost our immunity to sicknesses, promote tissue repair, protect cells from damage, protect against age-related cognitive decline and increase resistance to cancers, and other illnesses, all of which are important to maintaining good performance and longevity in sports. These protective substances are commonly known as phytochemicals.</p>
<p>Phytochemicals means &#8220;chemicals from plants.&#8221; Vegetables and fruits therefore are excellent sources.</p>
<p>Color means protection</p>
<p>Colorful vegetables and fruits have high levels of phytochemicals. In most cases, colorful skins of fruits and vegetables have the most concentrated source of protective nutrients.</p>
<p>RED</p>
<p>Red fruits maintains heart health, memory function, lowers risk to some cancers, and ensures urinary tract health. Lycopene and anthocyanins are available in red fruits and vegetables. Lycopede reduces the risk of several types of cancer, heart and lung disease. Anthocyanins helps protect against heart disease by preventing blood clots. Both may slow the cell aging process.</p>
<p>ORANGE / YELLOW</p>
<p>Beta-carotene is abundant in orange and yellow substances. It is an antioxidant that helps reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease, maintain eyesight, help boost the immune system, and promote repair of damaged DNA. With Vitamin C, Bioflavonoids which are also contained in orange and yellow fruits and vegetables, help reduce the risk of cancer, strengthen bones and teeth, heal wounds, keep skin healthy and lower the risk of heart attacks.</p>
<p>BLUE / P URPLE</p>
<p>Anthocyanins and Phenols make up blue and purple fruits and vegetables. Research says they may help reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer&#8217;s and may have anti-aging effects.</p>
<p>GREEN</p>
<p>Green fruits and vegetables are among the best sources of lutein. Lutein helps reduce the risk of cataracts and mascular degeneration, which can cause loss of vision. Green vegetables are also rich in sulforaphane, isocyanate and indoles which hamper the action of carcinogens.</p>
<p>WHITE</p>
<p>Allicin, which are found in garlic, leeks, and onions, helps control blood pressure and cholesterol. It looks like it also increases the body&#8217;s ability to fight infection. Cauliflower contains sulforaphane, and mushrooms contain selenium. Both are also cancer-fighting.</p>
<p>Because they protect your body from injuries, diseases and untimely aging, colorful vegetables and fruits must be first in mind when buying food to maintain good sports nutrition.</p>
<p>Essentials for fast recovery</p>
<p>Proper recovery is also a main concern in sports nutrition. Sufficient rest and sleep allows the body&#8217;s systems to recuperate from training stress and makes you stronger and faster. Training gains can be maximized, recovery process speeded up and performance enhanced by correct food and liquid consumption after workout.</p>
<p>The amount of food you need depends on the extent of the depletion of glycogen stores. How much food you need depends on the extent that your activity depleted your glycogen stores.</p>
<p>For a minimum of 2 hours of exercise, sports nutrition experts recommend around 1-1.5 grams of carbohydrate per kilogram of body weight within 15 minutes after cessation of exercise and every two hours until your next complete meal. That&#8217;s around 50-120 grams or 200-480 calories of carbohydrates for most athletes.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people believe that a few drinks will help them to sleep better when in fact it will help a person fall asleep but it will not help to keep them asleep. Way too often those few nightcaps can cause a person to wake several times during the night and further lead to feeling sluggish, disorientated, and have a lack of concentration the next day. Unfortunately, this can lead to a very unhealthy pattern. Contrary to what many might think alcohol and insomnia do not mix at all. Alcohol causes the body to dehydrate which can make insomnia even worse.</p>
<p>Alcohol is also a contributing factor in keeping people out of the deep sleep cycle which makes them feel even worse the next day. So this is how alcohol and insomnia work, alcohol makes the body fall asleep very quickly while at the same time it is dehydrating your body too. As a result, the body will wake for water because of the dehydration and your body will never get a chance to fall into the REM cycle of sleep, which is the deep important sleep that all people need. No alcohol will ever alleviate a person&#8217;s insomnia but in fact will make it worse. It is certainly no trade off to become a person with a drinking problem attempting to compensate for an insomnia condition.</p>
<p>There are many more effective ways to treat insomnia without tipping back a few drinks. You have to figure out what is causing the insomnia which can be attempted to be done by ones self but will likely have to be defined by a doctor. The doctor can evaluate all of the causes and get into more depth of what could be the underlying cause of the insomnia, the treating it with the appropriate measures that are not related to drinking alcohol in a failed attempt to mask the problem of insomnia. Remember that drinking will never help you get a quality nights sleep but what it will do is cause the problem to worsen and the next day in addition to feeling fatigued and lethargic, you will have additional discomfort from the alcohol.</p>
<p>Alcohol and its effects on insomnia might be one of the biggest misconceptions ever. Maybe that is because while a few drinks might actually induce sleep and make one fall asleep faster it is almost as if the sleep that they are getting does not count. It is not the right level of sleep and with the other factors of alcohol mixed in; technically one might as well have stayed up all night in terms of the body.</p>
<p>In other words the sleep did not benefit the body or mind at all. As a matter of fact, most people who have a dependency on alcohol have frequent sleep disruptions, even after the discontinuation of use. Beyond any withdrawal period a persons sleep patterns could very well never return to normal and as a result they may indeed have to battle frequent battles with insomnia for the rest of their lives.</p>

There is a sport for every human being in this planet. <p>Every clique and every country has a favorite sport they love and extensively promote. Europe will never be the same without football. The United States of America can never have enough of the National Basketball Association and Superbowl. Sports channels like ESPN and Star Sports thrive on healthy ratings and steady support from advertisers.</p>
<p>It follows then sports personalities are just as well loved around the world. Michael Jordan has Nike. Kobe Bryant was once poster boy fro Adidas. Danica Patrick inspired a lot of women to get into auto racing.</p>
<p>David Beckham was style icon for both football fanatics and those who just think he carries of all types of clothing really well. These athletes can attest ho dressing up right can make or break a race or a game. They have to pay attention to details down to the shoes they are wearing.</p>
<p>Choosing the right pair of shoes is vital in almost all sports. One sports shoes chain that increasingly gaining popularity is Athlete&#8217;s Foot. The store name doubling as brand name is very smart. One might think that it is a bad choice considering the bad picture that comes to mind when Athlete&#8217;s Foot is mentioned but upon closer look you will realize that and athlete&#8217;s foot and footwear can make a lot of difference in the athlete&#8217;s over all performance. A pair of sneakers is basic footwear that is ever comfortable and dependable for everyday wear. It is then acceptable to splurge on an expensive but quality wise worth it sneakers. A person should have at least one pair or better yet two so one can alternate.</p>

<p>Some women who are into sports are at risk of inadequate calcium intake, while some are at risk of early osteoporosis due to the absence of appropriate amount of calcium, or an irregularity of their menstrual cycle. So conclusively, sports nutrition for women should have higher intakes of calcium.</p>
<p>There is a list of recommended dietary intakes of calcium for sports women according to their ages. For girls with ages twelve to fifteen, they must have at least one thousand milligrams of calcium per day. For teenagers with ages sixteen to eighteen, on the other hand, should have a normal calcium intake per day, which is eight hundred milligrams. For women who are having their menstrual periods, they should also take eight hundred milligrams of calcium a day.</p>
<p>Post menopausal women should have at least one thousand milligrams per day of calcium, while women who are pregnant and who are also breastfeeding should have one thousand two hundred milligrams per day.</p>
<p>Keeping your body&#8217;s fat levels low is the aim of many female athletes. Excess fats may be detrimental to performance. However, less fat or no fat at all compromises the energy level of a female athlete. Low energy also affects your performance, so it is really important that you keep the nutrients in your body and follow sports nutrition for women for a performance of a superstar that you have long been searching to experience.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Estrogen hormone is a group of compounds called steroid. It is dubbed as &#8220;estrogen&#8221; because of its big importance in the oestrus cycle. The main function of it is, as female sex hormone.</p>
<p>This hormone is found in both men and women but women of reproductive age have high levels of it. Estrogen hormone helps in developing the breast of the women, thickening of the endometrial, affects the discharge of hormones from pituitary gland and changing the menstrual cycle.</p>
<p>There are a total of six estrogenic substances in the women&#8217;s body. However, there are only three top occurring estrogens in women namely: estrone, estradiol and estriol.</p>
<p>1. Estrone &#8211; this is the most powerful among the three. This is the main estrogen being produced in the ovary.</p>
<p>2. Estratiol &#8211; this is the most common estrogen. It is adapted to estrone. This is the most powerful estrogen produced by the ovary before menopausal stage.</p>
<p>3. Estriol &#8211; this is the least powerful among the three.</p>
<p>Since these estrogen hormones can be taken, they have the same effects and side effects especially if the doses are the same. The hormones should not be used when a woman is pregnant because it can lead to miscarriage. If taken at the earlier stage of pregnancy, it can badly harm the developing fetus.</p>
<p>For most senior women, they take the hormone even without any preventive measures. What they do not know is the risk of its side effects increases as they become older and older.</p>
<p>What are the possible side effects when a woman takes an estrogen hormone? The most common side effects with estrogen hormone are:</p>
<p>* Softness of the breast, either men or women<br />
* Inflammation of the ankles and legs<br />
* Lesser cravings for food<br />
* Sudden changes in weight<br />
* Nausea<br />
* Vomiting<br />
* Abdominal pains<br />
* Skin Irritation</p>
<p>Other side effects are:</p>
<p>* Bleeding gums<br />
* Vaginal bleeding and spotting<br />
* Changes in menstrual flow<br />
* Painful menstruation<br />
* PMS or the pre-menstrual syndrome<br />
* Vaginal infection such as Candida<br />
* Diarrhea<br />
* Loss of scalp hair<br />
* Migraine<br />
* Faintness<br />
* Despair<br />
* Increased sexual desires<br />
* Decreased sexual desires</p>
<p>Rare side effects include:</p>
<p>* Blood clotting<br />
* Sudden feeling to urinate<br />
* Unclear speech<br />
* Changes in vision<br />
* Breathlessness</p>
<p>Estrogen hormone should always be balanced. When a woman has an imbalance or has a lesser count of hormone, chances are, she has an irregular menstrual cycle. This is the reason why there are women who resort to different estrogen hormone therapy just in order to make her hormone balance.</p>
<p>Though this is important still, women should be aware of its side effects before taking it.</p>
