In fact, lack of education contributes to numerous misconceptions and superstitions! One common misconception concerns carbohydrates. Many believe that weight loss will be easier achieved if carbs are altogether avoided. That's totally incorrect!

There are two types of carbs, the "good" and the "bad". Bad carbs must indeed be avoided. However, the good carbs supply your body with required nutrients and energy. You must consume the right carbs to guarantee quick weight loss!

1. The Bad Carbs:

Processed foods are to be avoided since they are a rich source of bad carbs. These foods have been deprived of most of their nutritional elements and value through numerous food processing refinements. They mainly provide empty calories that make the body store fat.

To slim down avoid chips, white bread, white pasta, soft drinks, cakes, cookies, candies, etc...A lot of sugar is added in processed foods and sugar is rich in calorie content. The more the sugar you ingest is refined, the more fat you store! Additionally, since processed foods are low in fiber content, they easily convert to fatty deposits.Besides contributing to weight gain, the consumption of processed foods on a regular basis may also result in diabetes. The increase in blood sugar levels unbalances the insulin hormone to the point where it is becomes incapable of metabolizing all of that sugar.

2. The Good Carbs:

Good carbohydrates are commonly found in natural foods, such as raw fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, beans, wholegrain rice & pasta, wholegrain wheat, etc. These good carbs are rich in nutrients, fibers and energy, are slow to digest and will not make you gain weight! They are appetite suppressant since they make you feel full for hours and eliminate between meal binging.

Choosing the right carbs will contribute to your weight loss and reduce the required efforts.

P.S.: For healthy, permanent and natural weight loss, I strongly suggest that you follow personal trainer, nutritional consultant and fat loss leading authority, Tom Venuto's Burn The Fat [out] program. His complete step-by-step method for quick and easy weight loss will astound you. He will show you how to eat more calories without storing an ounce of fat, the most effective way to burn body fat, how to keep your muscle mass while dieting... he provides great tools that will help you reach your goal and that you can apply to stay slim and healthy for a long time.

Rachel Cheney is a medical nurse with over 20 years experience.
She became interested in the weight loss and fitness fields after successfully shedding 70 pounds.
Rachel began publishing articles some time ago in an effort to help others better understand their bodies needs. Between Halloween candy, Thanksgiving feasts and all the food associated with Christmas and Hanukkah, it's no wonder that dieters dread this time of year.

But avoiding holiday weight gain can be easy if you keep a few key tips in mind while you are celebrating.

1. When you attend a holiday party or encounter rich holiday food around the office, make yourself a deal. Allow yourself a small amount of the item. A good rule of thumb: take the amount you'd get if you were taking a free sample at a store. This will be enough to temper your craving and prevent you from totally pigging out on the item.

2. Don't label a food as totally off limits. That's a recipe for failure. If there are several items that you'd like to try, take a sample of your favorite one.

3. Remind yourself that there will always be more holiday food to enjoy. You don't have to try this one item right now. You'll have another chance. You will probably have another opportunity to try the same food at the next holiday get together.

4. Plan ahead. Before you arrive at the party, fill up on low calorie foods such as salad, low fat crackers and cheese or fruit. This way, you won't be starving when you arrive and the high calorie, high fat foods won't be so alluring.

5. Drink a glass of water when you first arrive and fill your plate with the healthiest items available. Think of the high fat casseroles, side dishes and desserts as just a small part of your total meal.

6. Sip sparkling water instead of calorie-rich alcoholic drinks. Alcohol is not only high in calories, it can make you feel like you want to eat more and might lower your natural resistance to all of those high-fat foods.

7. Busy yourself with other things besides hovering around the food. Get involved in a conversation, join a game or help the hostess out with getting the party ready.

8. Eat healthfully at home throughout the month. Stock up on fresh fruits and vegetables, including some of the more festive fare you might find in the store this time of year: pomegranates, an amazing variety of apples, pumpkins and squash.

9. Exercise at least 30 minutes most days. If you are going to a holiday party, exercise a bit more. Getting your body moving will help keep you motivated for avoiding holiday weight gain and it will do wonders to reduce your stress level, as well. If you are just starting an exercise program, talk to your doctor first.

10. If you overindulge one day, don't get too discouraged. When you wake up, eat a healthy breakfast, drink water, exercise, and plan to do better.

Jamie Jefferson writes for Momscape.com, where you'll find reviews and coupons for popular online diet plans, including diet meal replacements. In spite of that, I didn't have any symptoms to speak of.

I had a stress test three years ago only to be told that I needed bypass surgery. This was a surprise to me because I thought I had good heart health. I eat right and I take the right heart vitamins. Or so I thought. I decided that before I subjected myself to such invasive surgery I would get the 'facts' on bypass surgery myself.

I resisted the pressure to do it immediately because as the doctors said "you could have a stroke or heart attack at any time". I answered that "I could also get hit by a car at 'anytime"! What I found out from the American Medical Association's own website was that 55% of all bypass surgery is unnecessary and that 50% have to be redone within five years. Plus the risk factor is double of what surgeons usually tell you.

Also, and I loved this, that managing with drugs is more effective than surgery! What route would you choose? Once again no one could tell me what would 'cure' my heart problems. They only would talk about managing the symptoms.

I decided to check out what heart health vitamins and diet was needed to 'change' my heart health. I found out that I wasn't getting the right fats. I changed that to olive oils for salads and vegetables and coconut oil or avocado oil for cooking. I like 'meat' but now I make sure I buy grass fed beef or bison. I get free ranged chicken and eggs and only eat raw milk cheese (when I eat cheese). More raw vegetables and fish round out my diet.

More importantly I really researched what truly constituted heart health vitamins because I knew that our food sources have been so compromised that it is impossible to get all you need from food. Today you have to take supplements but they have to come from food sources not from a lab! I look at artificial supplements like a mirror: it's only an image of the real thing.

I found that garlic is a key element in maintaining heart health along with hawthorn, ginger, bilberry and (surprising to me) cayenne pepper.

Just like your lack of 'heart health' didn't happen suddenly, you won't reverse your heart health overnight. However committing to taking Super Naturals heart health formula for at least 6 months will result in a stronger healthier heart. That has definitely been my experience.

Don't fall into the trap that most of us fall into. If you don't have specific symptoms you don't think about it. That's why heart disease is the 'silent killer'. In fact, to most of us, the first thing that comes to mind when we hear the word antioxidant is Vitamin E. It is supposed to help make us look younger by preventing the cellular oxidation byproducts called free radicals from attacking healthier cells.

There are a lot of supplements that contain this Vitamin. This will help you look younger not just on a superficial level. But the question is, is it enough?

I can say that Vitamin E for skin does an adequate job of eliminating harmful free radicals. However, when it comes to antioxidants, your body can afford to take more. This is because every minute you are exposed to harsh environmental factors such as pollution and stress and these factors cause rapid cellular oxidation.

Vitamin E alone cannot help combat all those free radicals. The good news is, there are other types of antioxidants that can help you out.

The antioxidant found in grape seed extract, for instance, is a good choice. It contains PCOs that can combat harmful free radicals. Not only that, it helps tone your skin so skin elasticity is greatly improved.

You might also want to choose a type of honey called Manuka Honey. It is loaded with antioxidants as well as vitamins and minerals. Not only can this improve your skin condition, it can also make you look dewy and flawless as it gets rid of dark blemishes effectively. This type of honey is cultivated in New Zealand but you can find this incorporated in some of the best anti-aging creams today.

One type of antioxidant you probably hasn't heard of is Nano Lipobelle HEQ10. This antioxidant is smaller in molecular structure than other types of antioxidant. That virtually translates to having a more potent ally in gobbling up free radicals up to the deepest part of the skin.

You can find reliable facial creams with these ingredients. You just need to be on the lookout for new and improved beauty creams sold in the market. If you haven't done any updating for a few years now, this is the best time to do so.

You can have a good skin care regimen like using Vitamin E supplements and using a moisturizer with good antioxidants such as those mentioned earlier. This way, you can really improve your skin's health inside and out.

And now I would like to invite you to visit http://www.goodhealthyskin.com to find out which are the anti aging products you should use in order to achieve clearer and radiant looking skin.

By Elizabeth Simpson

The well-known "15 minute rule" can be misleading and may prevent us from looking more closely at our Vitamin D requirements.

Vitamin D is essential for building strong bones and preventing osteoporosis because it helps the body to use calcium effectively. Often called the "Sunshine Vitamin" the body produces vitamin D naturally in response to the sunlight. But the myth about "15 minutes in the sun" providing sufficient vitamin D is misleading...especially for people living in northern climates.

Following are a few causes of vitamin D deficiency...beginning with exposure to sunlight.

EXPOSURE TO SUNSHINE

Although the body makes vitamin D when the skin is exposed to the ultraviolet radiation from sunlight, over reliance on the sun is one of the most common causes of vitamin D deficiency. Below 42 degrees latitude (south of Boston, Rome and approximately Beijing) fifteen minutes of sun exposure can be sufficient under the following conditions:

exposure is on the arms and legs or face and arms
exposure occurs three times a week during the middle of the day (11 a.m.-2 p.m.)
exposure occurs during the spring, summer and fall, and
you are light skinned.

This level of exposure should allow sufficient storage of excess Vitamin D for use during the winter...with minimal risk of skin damage.

These guidelines are not effective at higher latitudes, however. In latitudes above 42 degrees north there is insufficient radiation available for vitamin D synthesis from November to early March. Ten degrees farther north, this "vitamin D winter" extends to almost half of the year.
In addition to limitations at higher latitudes, we must also consider that:

The skin's ability to produce vitamin D drops with age, putting men and women over the age of 50 at particular risk.
The healing rays of natural sunlight cannot penetrate glass. So you don't generate vitamin D when sitting in your car or home.
People with dark skin pigmentation may need 20 - 30 times as much exposure to sunlight as fair-skinned people to generate the same amount of vitamin D.
Even weak sunscreens (SPF=8) block our body's ability to generate vitamin D by 95%.

Excessive reliance on sunshine and on the 15-minute rule can be one of the causes of a deficiency rather than helping us to protect our bone health.

STRICT VEGETARIAN DIET

Another one of the causes of vitamin D deficiency can be a diet that does not include foods that provide vitamin D. Fish and fish oils, egg yolks, cheese and beef liver are natural sources of vitamin D. Many milk products are also fortified with vitamin D.

AGE

As people age their kidneys are less able to convert vitamin D to its active form and their thinning skin is also less able to produce vitamin D.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Some medical conditions can affect the intestine's ability to absorb vitamin D and cause a deficiency. These include Crohn's disease, cystic fibrosis, and celiac disease.

OBESITY
Obesity can also be one of the causes of vitamin D deficiency. Fat cells can extract vitamin D from the blood, altering its release into the circulation. People with a body mass index of 30 or greater often have low blood levels of vitamin D.

Vitamin D3 supplements are readily available and are inexpensive. Combined with recommended levels of calcium, magnesium and vitamin K, they are an essential part of an osteoporosis treatment program.

More information on the calcium, minerals and vitamins needed to build bone health-at an affordable price-may be found at http://www.osteoporosis-vitamins.com

Darlene Varaleau is a lawyer and business person by profession. Soon after entering menopause she was shocked to learn that she had lost 15% bone mass in two years and had developed osteopenia in one hip. Rather than continue with prescription medication for the rest of her life (and she expects to live a long time) Darlene created http://www.osteoporosis-vitamins.com to explore natural remedies for osteoporosis. The website provides osteoporosis treatment guidelines for the use of strontium citrate and makes recommendations on the best calcium for osteoporosis treatment and prevention.

Thus, it's no surprise that people have been enhancing their faces with makeup and trying to fix their complexions with special paints for thousands of years. Having a smooth, clear face is a great way to boost your self-confidence in your appearance, so here are some tips to improve your complexion.

First, acne is a huge problem for millions of people. Statistics show that it hits 85% of U.S. teens, and another 20% of adults have active acne issues. Therefore, it is no wonder that 25% of people have permanent acne scars. Taking care of your zit problem is not something that you should be embarrassed about-it does not mean that you are a dirty person who forgoes personal hygiene.

Rather, acne is somewhat of a hormonal issue, which is why it is so prevalent in the teen years. During this time, your body's hormones can cause the overproduction of sebum, which is the oily substance that is used to keep your face moisturized. When there is too much sebum, it can build up in the pores of your face and cause a blockage of your pores, leading to zits.

The first step to improving your complexion is getting rid of your acne. This can be done in several ways. First, you can try over-the-counter acne creams and face wash formulas to fix it. If that does not work, you should visit a dermatologist about getting a special topical cream prescribed to you. In more severe cases, you may have to have an oral medication. Additionally, processes like acne-targeting facials and even laser treatment can help clear up your skin as well as lessen your acne scars.

Next, sun exposure and the natural aging process can contribute to sun spots and fine lines. This can make your face look uneven and older than you are. For fixing the fine lines and sun spots, you can try microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Processes like Thermage give you brighter, smoother skin. Also, photorejuvenation and and resurfacing methods can enhance your face to give you a glowing complexion.

Lastly, if you need a deeper wrinkle fix, consider quick injections like Botox or Restylane. These products are able to iron out the wrinkles that are further into your skin than the fine lines that can be smoothed with the things listed above.

Overall, you can create a smooth, glowing complexion with little-to-no wrinkles with a visit to the dermatologist Dr. Zimmet of Zimmet Vein & Dermatology today. Contact Dr. Zimmet to find out the best plan to improve your complexion and boost your self-confidence.

Joseph Devine

http://skin-vein.com

While doing my research on net, I found that few Companies offering Free Trail as they are very confident about results.

I went ahead and placed order on both sites offering the free trial of Dermacai and Resveratrol. It actually worked and changed my life.

You should check out my story at http://www.RiyaWrinkleFree.com To know My Story How i Combined 2 Free Trial Products to Remove my Wrinkles.

And Try Dermacai and Resveratrol Free!

by Riya K. The word "detox" has been used in naturopathic circles in the sense of "removing toxins." A detox diet allows your body to clean itself of accumulated toxins, stress, and helps it release extra fat and weight.

A detox diet is a restricted diet that you follow, often combined with an exercise program, for a few days or a few weeks (or even longer). It's sort of like fasting, but it's easier to do and you can do it at home when you need it.

Signs You Need to Detox

You should be able to know yourself when you need to go on a detox diet. If you're looking at yourself in the mirror and don't like what you see, you don't like the extra weight you've been carrying around... then a detox diet can help you get back on track with a healthy diet and release the extra fat..

If you feel you don't have the energy you once had, or you're starting to feel a little depressed... a detox diet can help you regain that energy and bring a new level of joy to your life.

If you experience aches and pains, or headaches, and can't keep up with the stress of modern life, then it's very likely that a detox diet can help you feel young again, and give you the feeling that "nothing can stop you".

From having helped thousands of people go through all sorts of detox diets, I know that the rejuvenation it brings and the sense of accomplishment, on top of all the health results, is well worth the discipline it requires to do it.

Example of a Detox Diet

There's all sorts of detox diets you can choose from. One of my all-time favorites is the Apple Diet. This involves eating only apples for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for one or several days.

The good thing about apples is that they are easy to eat, they are low in sugar, and they contain a fiber that literally acts as a "broom" in your intestines.

When you go on an Apple Diet, all you have to do is purchase the best organic apples you can find, and eat as many as you'd like 3 or 4 times a day.

Here's a few tips to make this work:

- If you've never done this before, only plan to go for the Apple Diet for a maximum of 3-4 days.

- Peel your apples beforehand. Even though the peel contains essential nutrients, it's also impossible to digest in most cases. Since you're going to be eating lots of apple, you don't want to stress your digestion with too much fiber.

- Don't drink apple juice - even if it's freshly-pressed. That would be too much sugar, even if it's natural. You want the natural sugar along with all of the vitamins, minerals and fiber in the *whole* apple.

- Also drink water, about one liter a day, to help eliminate the toxins.

- Instead of eating apples all day long, have 3-4 meals a day with 1-2 pounds of apples.

I recommend the Apple Diet over any other type of "mono-cleanse", because the apple is the King of Fruits!

Other popular cleanses that I don't recommend include the Orange Juice Fast, the Lemon Cleanse, or the Grapefruit Diet. The problem with those detox diets is that the level of acidity from these citrus fruits is too high. It can cause many problems with your gums and overall health, and many unnecessary discomforts.

That's why low-acidity apples are a good choice to do a raw food detox diet.

Get Support and Motivation

Although the concept of a detox diet is simple, most people have a hard time implementing it because of lack of motivation.

It's not complicated to eat only apples for 3 days, but it's not easy either. On the first day, you'll be craving your normal fare. By the second day, you'll be dreaming about food. But if you stick around, after a few days, you'll be experiencing the incredible "high", energy and lightness of beings that fasters experience - and the results will show.

You'll start to release weight, your hunger for natural foods will come back, you'll have energy to start an exercise program, you'll feel better than ever... and when you're ready to introduce other foods into your diet, you'll be more likely to make the right choices.

But to get to that point, make sure you get enough support and motivation. Find someone who can help you do a detox diet with you, and get as much information and support as you can to succeed on your cleanse.

Learn to use the power of DETOX in your life... and you'll start to regain the health and energy that is your birthright.

The principal secret anti aging key may be thought as many different things, but most people will agree about the anti aging secret I'll tell you about.

What is the Principal Secret to Anti Aging?

It is so simple that you might be disappointed; the secret is to be healthy, happy and passionate about your life.

It means that you take care of your body in every way; supply it with all the nutrients it needs and avoid unhealthy foods, keep your skin moisturized, avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, sleeping enough, be mindful when you spend time in the sun and do a regular exercise that you like.

People that are happy and passionate about their life mostly experience less stress, as stress accelerates the aging process and less stress actually makes you look younger.

Principal Secret to Anti Aging and Skin Care

Every habit you have plays its part in how you look, and of course the way you treat your skin is included. If you constantly use skin creams with chemical additives like parabens, dioxanes, triclosan, ureas, sulfates and so on, you may not get the results you desire.

Those chemicals are known to cause many side effects on your health, anything from skin irritation to cancer. They are primarily used in skin care products because they give them a really long shelf life and they are cheaper than the healthier alternatives.

The secret to anti aging skin care is to choose a skin cream with clinically tested and proven safe and effective ingredients.

Preferably all ingredients should be safe enough to ingest. I don't suggest you put food on your skin, no, only ingredients that are both effective against wrinkles and can't cause any harm to your internal organs. Because every time you apply something to your skin, some of the active ingredients get absorbed into your body and eventually into your blood stream, and can thereby affect your health.

So look for proven effective natural ingredients in your skin care products, like Functional Keratin and CoenzymeQ10.

If you're interested in learning the secrets of finding the best anti-aging products, visit my website, where I share what products I personally use for fast, and effective results.

Visit my website by clicking here: http://www.natural-flawless-skin.com

Try cutting out juice or water for approximately 3-4 days. Eliminate fast food, junk food, confectioneries, and soft drinks. Instead, eat more wholesome foods like leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, and nuts. Also, while eating, hold off drinking any liquid with your meal as it dilutes the digestive juices and increases the tendency for constipation. Try waiting and hour or so before or after your meal.

Finally, there are ways to treat acne naturally from the outside. Try changing your pillowcase every night and watch closely how they are folded. It is more beneficial for your skin to sleep on the unexposed side when unfolding the pillowcase. When in the shower, wash your hair with a mild shampoo or use a night cap especially if you use greasy hair products. Be sure to wash your cap nightly. Also, sleep on your right side. It allows your face to breathe easier during the night and as an added bonus, it eases the pressure on your heart. Multi-vitamins are beneficial to your skin and body as well.

Don't touch your unwashed hands to your face. If you have an itch, remember to use the back of your hands. There are less oils and germs there. Upon washing your hands, gently massage your face regularly. Not only does it cleanse the face free of oily pores, it aids in tightening up wrinkles and bags under the eyes. You may, also, use a honey mask once or twice a week. While gentle on the skin, honey has antibacterial properties that is great at disinfecting.

When available, use a steam room at your local gym or even at home. Steaming the face eliminates toxins when sweating. If you have access to your local gym, get involved in some form of exercise. They are inorganic elements that the body doesn’t make; instead, we obtain them from the foods we eat or through supplements.

It’s been reported that some 56 percent of adults in the U.S. use some kind of nutritional supplements, fueling an industry that sells more than $1.5 billion in products every year. If you’re spending money on supplements, you should know what you’re getting.

There are two kinds of minerals: trace minerals and macrominerals. The category of trace minerals includes iron, zinc, copper, selenium, iodine, fluoride and chromium. Trace minerals are only found in tiny, trace amounts in your body. Macrominerals are needed in larger amounts in your body – these are sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, sulphur, cobalt and chloride. Each mineral works in different ways to contribute to the body’s health and wellbeing.

The following is a list of each mineral, the foods in which it can be found, and what it does for your body. In future articles, we’ll discuss the various minerals in more detail.

Calcium is the most important macromineral for bone and teeth health. Without it, we couldn’t stand up and chew our food. Foods rich in calcium are dairy products, such as milk, yogurt and cheese. Canned fish, such as canned salmon or sardines, and green vegetable such as broccoli also provide us with needed calcium. Calcium is so important that some foods, such as cereals and juices, are fortified with it.

Iron helps oxygen get from the lungs to the rest of the body. It is also essential in the production of hemoglobin. Iron can be found in red meats, tuna, salmon, eggs, beans, potatoes, raisins and green leafy vegetables.

Potassium is essential for keeping the nervous system working. Foods such as bananas, tomatoes, broccoli, potatoes, citrus fruit, legumes and nuts are rich in potassium.

Zinc strengthens the body’s immune system and wards off illness and infection. Zinc can be found in legumes and meats such as beef, pork and lamb.

Magnesium is found in bones. It helps the body maintain a healthy metabolism and cholesterol level. It also converts sugar into energy. Spinach, beans, peas, nuts, seeds and grains are an excellent source for magnesium. Tap water also contains traces of the mineral but the amount will vary according to the water supply.

Manganese helps increase the absorption of nutrients such as biotin, thiamin and ascorbic acid. It helps maintain healthy bones and blood sugar levels and maximizes the function of the thyroid gland. It also contributes to healthy nerve function. Foods high in manganese are mustard and collard greens, kale, chard, raspberries, pineapple, lettuce and maple syrup.

Sodium, which is found in salt, maintains the body’s blood pressure. Since too much sodium can lead to health problems, it is important to realize that processed foods such as bread, tomato sauce, Chinese foods, and potato chips have high sodium content.

Copper protects the cardiovascular and nervous systems, as well as bones. It helps keep arteries from hardening and is needed for healthy hair and skin. The body also needs copper to produce antioxidants. Half of the body’s copper supply is in the bones and muscles. Copper can be found in beef liver, black-eyed peas, shellfish and cocoa.

Chromium controls the body’s insulin and normalizes sugar levels. It also lowers bad cholesterol levels and blood pressure. Foods that contain chromium are romaine lettuce, onions, tomatoes, brewer’s yeast, oysters, liver and bran. Since few diets provide enough chromium, a daily supplement is recommended.

Sulphur is known as the “beauty” mineral. It keeps hair, nails and skin strong. It plays a role in the production of collagen, which helps maintain the skin’s elasticity. Sulphur also helps with such conditions as eczema, psoriasis and acne. Sulphur can be found in lean meats, fish, eggs, milk, legumes, cabbage, brussel sprouts and turnips.

Cobalt is a part of Vitamin B12, which is needed for healthy red blood cells. It can be found in fish, nuts, green leafy vegetables and cereals.

Chloride helps the body maintain fluid in blood vessels and muscles and maintain healthy kidneys. Chloride can be found in table salt, kelp, olives, tomatoes and celery.

Iodine, which is found mainly in the thyroid gland, regulates the release of energy in the body. It also regulates the metabolism, so without iodine, a person would gain a great deal of weight. Iodine also contributes to healthy hair, skin, nails and teeth. Good sources of iodine are leafy vegetables, fish, shellfish, and onions.

Fluoride is a mineral that can be added to water or toothpaste, as it is not found in any significant quantity in foods. Fluoride is crucial for the maintenance of strong teeth and the prevention of tooth decay.

Selenium is needed to prevent heart disease and cancer. It works with Vitamin E as an antioxidant to help slow the aging process. Foods high in selenium are nuts, seafood, legumes, cereals and turkey.

The body uses many essential minerals, and a balanced diet is critical to ensure that it receives enough for optimal functioning. A deficiency of certain minerals can lead to severe health problems. If your diet is lacking any of these minerals, you should consider taking supplements to make up for any deficiencies.

Janet Davis is a health and nutrition entrepreneur. This becomes clearer when you see the increasing use of steroids by athletes and body builders. It indicates that people are keen to change how they appear or perform, without paying too much consideration into the steroids side effects.

Common Steroids Side Effects
Here are some common steroids side effects:

- Inhibited production of natural hormones is inevitable. The human body tends to stay in a balanced state called 'homeostasis.' Steroids function as hormones within the body. By sending a message to the body's endocrine system, steroids put a stop to the production of the body's natural hormones.

- Liver damage is another well known side effect. It is orally ingested as steroids pass through the liver and cause elevation of liver enzymes. Keep in mind that the liver serves as a filtering organ. The use of steroids is natural to impact and cause strain on the liver.

- Cardiovascular ailments are linked to the use of steroids. Steroid usage can lead to a decrease in HDL or good cholesterol, thereby resulting in higher levels of LDL or bad cholesterol. Be alert as it can also lead to the development of blockages in blood vessels.

- The use of steroids can cause aromatization of the testosterone into estrogen or the female hormone, leading to the growth of breast tissues. This results in gynecomastia.

- Acne is another side effect for those who use steroids. It leads to hyperactivity of sebaceous glands and causes increased oil secretion. Excess oil, together with dead cells and bacteria, results in acne problems. This condition can be controlled through regular cleansing of the skin or by using anti-androgens.

- Steroids side effects leads to baldness in males. The process is accelerated in men who also have a genetic predisposition towards baldness.

- Digestive problems are known to occur. This is because steroids get mixed into the blood and can be carried to every organ, thus causing digestive problems along with nausea and vomiting.

- Another side effect is known as virilization, which is the development of male sexual characteristics in females. Examples include deepened voice, excess body hair, acne, baldness and growth of genitalia.

- Psychological effects include cases of 'roid rage.' This happens when a user of steroids displays overtly aggressive behavior.

Steroids side effects may even affect the immune system. Why would you book your cosmetic surgery treatment overseas? There are many reasons, not the least among them costs. To give some examples, a breast augmentation in the United States can cost anywhere from $4000 to $10,000 or more. Abroad, the same procedure can cost $2500 or less, with no loss in quality. Rhinoplasty in the U.S. or Europe can cost upwards of $16,000. In countries like Thailand or Vietnam its costs only about $3000.
But aside from cost, there’s the fact that the impersonal care your average patient receives at a western medical facility can’t rival the personalized treatment from nurses and medical staff that you get at many of the foreign hospitals that cater to medical tourists. And, especially for those seeking cosmetic surgery, having a surgical procedure performed abroad affords the patient anonymity and privacy. They can recover discreetly, away from home while relaxing at an exotic location. As far as they’re acquaintances back home know, you were just overseas on vacation.

The Country

It’s important to do a good bit of research before you book your cosmetic surgery trip. Different countries are renowned for different medical specialties, and some have better or more renowned medical facilities than others, depending on what kind of procedure you’re hoping to get. Countries that are known for their high-quality cosmetic surgery facilities and experts include Thailand, Brazil, Venezuela and the Philippines, among other Asian and South American countries.

Hospital

Choosing the hospital for your cosmetic surgery procedure is important. It should be a hospital that you feel comfortable with. Do some research and make sure that the medical facility you book your trip to is internationally accredited (look for JIC and ISO accreditation, which are the medical industry standards for international health facility excellence, with JIC being the international branch of the same group that certifies medical facilities in the U.S.). Go online and make sure the hospital you chose has a history of successful procedures and top-notch medical equipment and staff who all speak English fluently.

Tell Your General Practitioner

Even though you’ll be having your cosmetic surgery abroad, you should keep your doctor at home informed. It can decrease self-esteem and confidence, and limit the ability to enjoy life to the fullest. Balding affects people in different ways, but certain emotional reactions seem to be shared by many.

Hair Loss and the Mating Game

The most common concern that people have when they begin to lose their hair is that they will be less attractive to the opposite sex. The interesting thing is that this is often only the view of the person that is balding and not that person’s partner. The spouse, or friend of those experiencing hair loss, commonly state that the only thing that bothers them is that it makes their partner depressed. The balding does not bother them per se.

It is interesting that women sometimes express that they want their spouses to look good for the wedding pictures, but once married, they become far less concerned. In fact, when a married man suddenly becomes interested in having a hair transplant, we have seen the spouse become suspicious of extra-marital interests and object to the procedure.

Balding on the Job

Another concern is that the person with hair loss feels he or she looks older than they actually are and will not be as competitive in the work force. Unfortunately, studies have shown that this is a real concern. When employers are screening job applicants, all other things being equal, those with hair are viewed more favorably than those who are bald.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

People experiencing hair loss complain that the way they look does not fit with their own image of themselves. This occurs when someone begins to lose hair early i.e., in their late teens or twenties, but it is as much a problem when someone has had a full-head of hair for years (and is used to receiving compliments about their hair) and then their hair thins unexpectedly in middle age.

Hair loss is a universal marker for aging, with ones locks gradually diminishing over time. Your body slowly changes as well, with more sagging and wrinkles and ones muscle mass decreasing. However, hair loss hair can also occur suddenly at a young age, making you appear much older than you actually are.

Another aspect of balding is that people feel a loss of control. Hair is one of the few body parts that you can actually manipulate yourself. You can grow hair long, cut if off, you can wave it, dye it, or pull it back in a pony-tail. It serves as a form of self-expression. As people start to lose this form of self-expression, they can become depressed and withdrawn. But not everyone responds this way. People react very differently to their hair loss, with some considering it only a minor nuisance and others finding it so debilitating that they won’t be seen in public without their head covered.

So Did You Hear the One About...

One of the things that makes going bald difficult is that, for some reason, people feel that commenting or joking about hair loss is “fair game” when they wouldn’t dare mention that someone had bad skin, or had a limp. I often point out to patients, that just because people chose to comment about thinning hair, doesn’t mean they are judging that person or really care much about it. It just seems to be a socially acceptable thing to mention.

He Thinks, She Thinks

Women seem to believe that female hair loss is less acceptable than hair loss in men. While this may be true, the vast majority of women have hair loss in a pattern that can be easily camouflaged. Women are often reassured when they realize that about 40% of women experience hair loss over their lifetime, but it is to such a small degree that it is rarely recognized by the opposite sex.

Mane Options

The important things to remember are that hair loss is very common, it is much more acceptable as one ages, and it is generally less important to other people than the person experiencing hair loss thinks. That said, it is not unreasonable to be upset about going bald. Fortunately, for those who are bothered by their hair loss, there are now excellent medications to prevent hair loss and excellent surgical treatments to restore hair once it is gone.

Dr. Bernstein is Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and is the Director of Bernstein Medical – Center for Hair Restoration in Manhattan.New York Center for Hair Restoration

Just one! Go on, give one a go! - You will feel better for it!

More Fiber in your Diet to produce regular and easy motions

Constipation is the number 1 cause of hemorrhoids.
A good breakfast cereal such as Muesli, with bran, oats & wheat will give you a good nutritional start to the day. Take some fruit at the same time; chop it up and mix it in with the cereal, it is a lovely combination.

Increase your intake of water

It is recommend that all adults drink a minimum of 2 litres a day of either pure water or fruit juices, or a mixture of both. Water lubricates the digestive system and takes toxins out of the body. Hemorrhoids are exacerbated by the presence of excessive amounts of toxins.

Try to get more exercise

This may not be easy if your are suffering from external hemorrhoids! However, any exercise that gets the heart pumping faster will get your blood circulating more efficiently and improve your overall state of health. Sluggish body performance invites illness, try to increase your level of fitness by walking, jogging swimming or sport.

In-House exercises

If your hemorrhoids are preventing you from going out, try 'arm' exercises to get the heart pumping. Even using a torso muscle-building bar will increase your heartbeat and lead to a fitter you. Remember that the heart is a muscle and muscles can be made stronger and more efficient through exercise.

Cut down or avoid hot spices and sauces etc

Curries, Tex-Mex, Burgers with lashings of everything can be bad news for hemorrhoid sufferers! I am not saying that you should stop them completely, but instead of making it a staple part of your diet, why not move them into the area of 'treats?' - then you can still look forward to treating yourself!

Cut down on meat intake - especially red meat

Think of your diet as a pyramid. A Mediterranean diet has meat at the top and salad and vegetables at the bottom. Salads, vegetables and fruit chug through the body, absorbing poisons on the way. They also help you to pass regular motions - an absolute must for anyone who is trying to cure hemorrhoids

Watch your Body Hygiene.

Shower or bathe once a day. This will take away the acids and poisons present in the top layers of the skin. The skin is the largest organ in the body - it is an enormous eliminating area that sweats out poisons. Do NOT use antiperspirants - we perspire for a reason - prevent that process and you are inviting trouble. Hemorrhoids can be aggravated by toxins that are best out of the body than in it.

I hope you will find the foregoing tips useful to you. They are practical ways that you can tone up the fitness level of your body. They are all intended to get your bodily functions up to a higher level, whereby problems like hemorrhoids, whether external or internal, can be avoided.

If you would like to learn more about how you can avoid hemorrhoids (and health problems in general) rather than having to suffer them necessarily, please go to the Link below:

Although I don't know you, I wish you good health!

http://www.goodbyehemorrhoids.info

Anthony C Palmer

There is hope!

Here are some ways you can overcome compulsive overeating disorder.

1. Share your problems with other people.

Talking to your love ones and asking them to support you emotionally is extremely important for compulsive overeater. Explain to them it is important that they understand your problem and give you emotional support. When you go shopping with them and pass by an ice cream shop, they need to tell you "you don't want that" when you start to walk over there.

If you live with your family and your house is full of cookies and candies for your brothers and sisters, explain to them that you do not want any junk food in the house. With someone who loves you to support you, you can stop compulsive overeating disorder a lot easier.

2. In the journal, write down everything you eat and drink, the amount you eat, what time you eat, how you feel before and after you eat. This will help you find out what triggers you to overeat. If you turn to food when you are stressed (which is very common), learn more about stress reducing methods such as listen to music, take a bubble bath, go out for a walk, or practice yoga. Once you find out why you overeat, then you are more likely to overcome it.

5. Change your food arrangement in your kitchen.

Throw away all the junk food you have in the house, do not go to the junk food isle in the supermarket, and rearrange your refrigerator so you can rich fruit and vegetables easily. These little changes will make it harder to overeat.

6. Do something you enjoy when you crave for food.

What else do you like to do besides eating? Watch scary movie? Read a novel? Find something you like to do instead of eating. Similarly, the muscles that support our head, neck, neck and trunk are synchronized to hold our posture. When a muscle or just a few fibers of it that contracts involuntarily, it is called a spasm, and if this is forceful and sustained, it turns into a cramp. Therefore a leg cramp is an unwillingly and forcibly contracted muscle that does not relax. Leg cramps can last from just a few seconds to fifteen minutes. On the other hand, the entire, or several muscles may be involved in a leg cramp. Leg cramps pain especially in the calf.

Causes of Leg Cramps

Leg Cramps involve part or all of a single muscle or a group of muscles that in general act together. Most doctors agree that these cramps are caused by hyper excitability of the nerves that stimulate the muscles. Leg cramps are usually caused by:

Injury: A persistency muscle spam could happen as a protective mechanism following an injury such as a fractured bone. In this case, the spam tends to lower its movement and stabilize the area of injury. A muscle injury may cause the muscle to spasm.

Vigorous Activity: Leg cramps are linked with the vigorous use of muscles or muscle fatigue in sports or with unusual strenuous activities. Such cramps may appear during the activity or sometimes much later. Muscle fatigue also may come from sitting or lying for an extended period in an awkward position or any repetitive use can cause cramps. The elderly are at risk for cramps when performing forceful physical activities.

Rest Cramps. Particularly in the elderly, cramps at rest (often at night) are very common although may be experienced at any age even in childhood. They are very disruptive of sleep and disturbing. They sometimes persist frequently and are very painful. The real cause of night cramps is unknown. An example is pointing the toe down while laying in bed, which shortens the calf muscle, a common place for cramps.

Dehydration: Sports and vigorous activities can cause excessive fluid loss from perspiration which increases the likelihood of leg cramps. Leg cramps are more likely in warm weather and can be an early sign of heart stroke. Chronic volume depletion of body fluids from diuretics and poor fluid intake may act similarly to predispose to cramps in the elderly. Loss of sodium is usually a function of dehydration.

Low Blood Calcium, Magnesium: These may be predisposing factors for the spontaneous leg cramps experienced by many older adults, as well as for those noted during pregnancy

Contractures: Results when the muscles of the leg are unable to relax. The constant spasms are cause by a depletion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), an energy chemical within the cell. This prevents muscle fiber relaxation. The nerves are inactive in the form of muscle spam. Contractures can be inherited or acquired.

An Effective Way to Prevent Leg Cramps

A good way to prevent leg cramps is to maintain the muscles relaxed avoiding spasms. As a result you will be able to sleep comfortably and wake up totally energized. Now you can achieve this by using an orthopedic pillow like the Leg Wedge Pillow- This affordable dual purpose, contour leg spacer knee wedge and leg elevation pillow is designed to fit the natural curves of your body and legs, cradling you in comfort.

Summary: Would you like to sleep well throughout the night without having any leg cramps? A leg cramp has been suffered by almost everybody sometime in their life (95%). It is a common trouble for individuals of all ages, though it is more frequent in the elderly.

D. Charles Jameson is a freelancer copywriter and editor. One of his articles explains the benefits of Leg wedge pillow used as a contour leg pillow. As a result, it can avoid leg cramps. More men in the United States are overweight than any other country in the world, and it's time we did something about it. Fortunately, there are a ton of options when it comes to losing weight. For example, there are plenty of gyms in cities across America. If you're not a fan of getting all sweaty and gross in front of strangers, you can always order your own home gym or get a treadmill. Nowadays, you can even watch television programs and get fit! There are entire channels devoted only to giving you a trim figure.

If you want to learn more about men health and fitness, you could always start subscribing to a men's magazine. In addition to having in depth consumer reports on various electronics and doodads, they also have health and wellness sections. From telling you the best times of the day to go running if you're looking to increase your metabolism to showing you how to shape your triceps, men's magazines have just about everything you could hope for.

If you'd like a more engaging kind of activity, you could hop online and check out some of the men health and fitness forums that are everywhere. These forums allow you to discuss men's health issues in an anonymous fashion without the embarrassment of talking face to face with your primary care physician. They also can act as support groups, with everyone encouraging one another to stay on track in terms of diet and exercise. The only thing to remember when you're dealing with forums, however, is that you can never be sure of who you're talking to. Take all of the advice you get on the forums with a grain of salt, because the people may or may not know what they're talking about.

To discover some great men health and fitness tips, visit the Mens Health Forums. In many cases organic produce is only available at a health food store. In addition, vitamin supplements and other nutritional supplements are believed to have a higher quality at these types of stores vs. a grocery outlet.

In addition to wanting to improve their health, many people have been misled into believing that “nutritional counselors” or health food clerks are qualified to give advice on their health problems.

Healthy organic foods are far better for us. Taking supplemental vitamins and minerals along with other types of immune system boosters can do our bodies a great deal of good, but getting advice from someone who works at a health food store may be very detrimental to our health.

This is not to say that asking for help to understand the quality or value of certain products is wrong. Knowing how certain foods and supplements can help our bodies is different from getting advice on how to cure our health problems. Unfortunately, there are times when people seek a diagnosis for their poor health symptoms.

The problem begins when a nutritionist or health food store salesman offers advice and or a diagnosis for symptoms that they have not been medically trained for. Many health problems have similar symptoms. Some of these symptoms are indications of serious health issues that must be diagnosed through further medical tests that can only be provided through someone who has the proper degree to do so.

In most cases the people who work at health food stores have not received any formal training that would qualify them to give advice about serious or even minor health issues.

Taking advice from people who are not qualified to give it could cause you a great deal of harm. It could even delay your ability to stop a minor health problem from becoming a serious one, especially if their advice was inaccurate or inappropriate. The least harmful side effect would be that you are spending money on nutritional supplements that do not add anything beneficial to your body.

If you have a health problem, your first option should be to see a qualified physician. If you need advice about your diet, a registered dietitian may be a better choice. Once you have received accurate and knowledgeable advice about your condition you can confidently go to the health food store and pick up the nutritional supplements that your body actually needs. This way you don’t waste your time or your money.

About the Author
Kimberly Shannon has been working in the nutritional field for many years and continues to encourage people to seek natural means of building a healthy body.
