Looking at the root cause and simple solutions.

Aside from clogged pores
creating small whiteheads or blackheads, acne is generally an internal
issue. Especially problematic and
hormonal acne producing deep, sore red acne or underlying multiple bumps that
show up.

If you understood how the
body works and eliminates toxin, you would understand it is fairly simple fix
that does not require prescription drugs.

If you can imagine
problematic acne as internal toxins that are erupting to coming to the surface
as a way to escape, you are half way there.
The red sore acne can be compared to a toxic volcano. But where do all
the toxins come from?

There are several aspects to
acne. I like to start with the face if the person does not have an issue with
weight or digestion. In your cheeks by your jaw on both sides are glands called
the Parotid Glands. Though we know a lot about the body, we do not know
everything yet but what we do know is that the Parotid Gland is your body’s
first defense against toxins entering the body.
The easiest way to explain it to an adult is when you take a shot of
alcohol or take a sip of dry red wine…if you pay attention you will notice that
your cheeks contract and suck in the toxins from the drink. You may experience a headache or neck
stiffness following (usually the next day) if the Parotid cannot catch or
process all the toxins in a timely manner.
Or you may find the next day that you are starting to break out.

The Parotid Gland works with
the Liver (basically the master toxin handler) to eliminate toxins from the
body. Therefore, if the Liver is
overloaded, the Parotid is not able to hand off it’s holdings until the Liver
gets caught up. That could take several days for some people, yet other people,
only a few hours.

Many things can overtax the
liver. Stress, mineral deficiency, vitamin deficiency, lack of essential fatty
acids (or the inability to process vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids) inactivity:
which causes less movement of blood and also if you are sitting slumped over,
you can be compressing the liver and restricting it’s freedom which is why is
it always a good idea to get up and stretch after long periods of sitting.

Hormones require proper
mineral balance and stress as we know it is basically nonexistent with proper
mineral balance. There are several factors that I am aware of that can
interfere with mineral absorption however. One key factor is a lack of
Essential Fatty Acids (EFS’s) and even some people have issues breaking down
EFA’s. EFA’s help minerals absorb and
not all EFA’s are equal.

Many medical doctors recently
have been focusing on Vitamin D (which is a vitamin that your body produces
when it is exposed to sunlight when there are EFA’s available in your body)
What I have found is that they are not considering the EFA factor and why the EFA factor is not
working…why.

In my research, I have read
that some people have trouble breaking down EFA’s so they need to introduce
“predigested” EFA’s into the system. I
have found with many of my patients that when I simply have them take a broken
down predigested EFA, everything changes. Their energy increases, their minds
clear up, they are able to sleep better, they have less stress and their acne
goes away. I believe the reason is that now their body can process minerals.

I believe minerals are the
modern day key to health. Many of my patients refer to me as the mineral doctor
simply because I find most everyone is mineral deficient because their response
is always better when a good multi-mineral is added to their regimen. If we look at the way we eat, the food quality
and lack of mineral content in the food we eat, we can find the answer to our
deficiencies.

In Chinese Medicine they say
we are born with Original Qi (Chee)….Qi can be described as a type of energy
but I like to compare it to our bone quality.
If your parents were in good health when they conceive you, you are born
with strong Original Qi (or strong bones). Since bones are constantly building
up and breaking down (they are not stagnant) over time, our bones can become
depleted and if not replenished or built up with minerals, they become less
dense, weak and fragile and as we age we might discover we have holes in our
bones or something called osteopenia (meaning little bone) or osteoporosis
(meaning porous bone).

So through our digesting is
how we rebuilt our bones. Several
generations ago, it was common practice to eat meat, rich in minerals and soups
and stews cooked for days with meat bones, which added minerals to our diets.
Dark leafy and root vegetables were common. Today people rarely support eating
beef, root veggies are almost non-existent and only the health-conscious go for
dark leafy veggies.

No wonder we all feel so much
stress and anxiety, have weight problems as a result of hormone imbalances,
infertility or inability to carry a baby to term and cannot process our toxins
resulting in problematic acne.

Since food is our best source
of nutrition and since our food is so depleted these days, and if you are
already deficient in minerals you would probably not be able to eat enough of
the right food to restore your reserves, I have my patients supplement with
food-based nutrition. I personally
prefer a product line that you can purchase through health care practitioners
because it is made from organic, whole food and super potent. It is currently impossible to purchase
anything of this quality over-the-counter because of how the food and drug
administration (FDA) regulates labeling.
Food would never have exactly the same levels because different batches
and even from one to another it can vary (for example one apple could have more
or less of something than another) so it is impractical to make a different
label for each bottle. Over the counter
supplements are considered nutriceuticals because they are created in a lab to
make them compliant for the FDA labeling.
Whole food based supplements have minimal labeling, so you will only
find minimal labeling and they are sold through practitioners because the
patient would be informed through the practitioner and the supplements would be
regulated by a professional. Generally
nutriceuticals are 10-35% absorption compared to whole food based supplements
which are 100%. This makes it more cost
effective to purchase whole food supplement.
Instead of paying 10.00 and only being able to absorb 3.50 worth of
product with a nutriceutical, you would either have to spend 35.00 and take
more of the nutriceutical or take less of a whole food based supplement. The company I like is Standard Process TM and
their prices are very reasonable for the quality. I recommend that you look them up online and
read about the company to get a better understanding of the product but from
what I experience with my patients, they offer the best available.

If you are chronically ill,
sometimes even nutriceuticals can help improve your situation, because you still
get the 10-35% and if you are accustomed to nothing, 10-35% is a big increase
for your body. But what most people find
is after a month or 2, the results reach a plateau and I find this is because
you actually need something better to move forward.

When it comes to Acne
however, you really might consider whole food supplements to avoid any possible
added toxicity from the nutriceuticals. Since all supplements are not equal,
generally the less expensive it is, the cheaper the ingredients and some lesser
quality ingredients can actually interfere with the body and may not be
bioavailable (able to be processes by the body)

At first, I blamed it on the lack of mineral rich foods in our diets but it is actually more complicated than that.

Gluten Free is the big buzz in food now, but are we looking at it totally crooked?
Our Ancestors and even people from other cultures are still preparing their grains before they eat them. In our fast paced culture, we rely on prepared and processed foods for the bulk of our diet.

As I was growing up, whenever I ate grains, my stomach got upset, so basically as I grew, I stopped eating most things. One thing I noticed that never bothered me was buckwheat. So that has been a breakfast staple for me for years off and on. Also any type of bread without a big slathering of good butter, was completely off my list.

Recently, I came across a great article that explains my grain issues and though I have known about these types of things, when I read it, the lightbulb went off.

About 2 years ago, I started fermenting almost everything because I found my teeth were getting vertical cracks in them and I even chipped one tooth (I figured if my teeth were having issues, what is happening to my bones). I found a great book on healthy teeth and rediscovered fermenting. What I discovered was that my body also started changing. I was within a normal weight but noticed that after 2 weeks of fermented foods, fermented butter oil, raw butter etc. my muscles were growing. I looked in the mirror and I actually look sculpted. I was not working out at the time, and the only change was my diet, so I attributed it to the fermenting. Over time, I gradually stopped fermenting and some of the other things because they are not easily available where I live part of the year and what I noticed was my beautifully sculpted arms disappeared.

Recently I started working out again, and to my surprise, I was not building any muscle. This was totally foreign to me. All my life, if I did only a little exercise, muscles would appear almost immediately. After a month of workout, 3 days a week or more, nothing! Granted, I did not want to be muscle-bound but did want to build some strength.

This took me on a search to dig deeper and I found my old nutritional guru had the answer, Dr Weston Price and an article written by Ramiel Nagel. Nagel interprets Dr. Weston Price and his study of other cultures pertaining to health. Dr Price was in Dentistry and devoted his life to discovering why other cultures had beautifully healthy teeth and basically our culture did not. Turns out a big part involves how we process grains before cooking.

In essence, grains need to be properly processed before you eat them or they rob your body of the minerals it needs for good health. Good mineral content in the body does so much good. Build bones, prevent arthritis, prevent clogged arteries, prevent cramping / help muscles contract and relax, they work with the endocrine system and hormones, keep your hair from turning grey, reduce stress, reduce pain, help your brain think and neurological processing and the list goes on. If you had to pinpoint what your health issue is, could it relate to minerals...my answer is most definitely minerals are involved (or more accurately, lack of minerals)

Now, most of the nature freaks out there like me will get a little overwhelmed by the information on processing grains, so I am going to break it down to a usable system which is better than nothing and highly effective but not perfect. For it to be perfect, it would be hard to actually implement:

Eat none or less than 10 percent of the total combination of grains, beans, and nuts unless you process them correctly. You can eat more if you do some minimal processing (like soaking grains, soaking nuts, soaking/sprouting and cooking beans). Eat good raw butter from grass fed cows with your grains or breads and properly prepared sour dough bread seems to be the best choice, coconut oil is good. Eat grass fed beef (not grain fed!) and keep in mind that animal fat is not all bad.
This are just my guidelines, there is no real science behind it.

Personally, I eat very little bread or things made with flour, I limit my nuts and seeds, but soak them and store them in the freezer until needed. The grain I eat the most is buckwheat and the bread of preference if I eat bread is rye or sourdough. I ferment any flour I use at least overnight because I occasionally like to cook pancakes. I cook soups with bones and eat raw butter on anything I can. I love raw milk when I can get it but in really small amounts, like a half cup 3 times a week at most (lately I have not been taking milk however) I eat very little fruit daily, but keep berries in the freezer as snacks and occasionally each seasonal fruit but rarely overdue fruit (I believe fruit is too sweet for the American diet and causes more harm than good if not controlled). I have not been fermenting lately because I have nearly eliminated grains, but I am going to start again to see if I have the same response as before with increased muscle mass.

I also want to add that I DO tend to eat anything that is served me when I go to a friends house for dinner or out to eat, unless I am in the middle of a cleanse. I think because on a day to day basis, I don't eat poorly, I am able to do this without a setback. Keep in mind that what we do everyday or often weekly, is the norm for us and this is what might need to be evaluated. We still need to live life and enjoy the fruits of life, but some things only on special occasions.

I invite you to discover for yourself what Nagel has to say. I believe you will find it fascinating, however you may find it discouraging, but if you follow my suggestions above and just simplify it overall, you will find great improvement and not go crazy in the process. Here is the article link: http://www.westonaprice.org/food-features/living-with-phytic-acid

If you still have issues with not losing weight or low minerals symptoms, you should see a therapist who specializes like a naturopathic doctor if you can find one in your area. (I generally find that nutritionist are not trained to understand these things). I am an acupuncture physician with focus on nutrition (which is not the norm) but there may be others out there who are as passionate as I am about all aspects of the healing arts.

Enjoy!

I caught Dr Davis' Wheat Belly Diet on the Dr Oz show and applaud him for this
simple solution for many struggling, not wanting to give up their addiction to
various foods and I agree with the theory in general.

Here are my concerns and comments:

I noticed good amounts of Almond flour are included in many of
the recipes, which concerns me since I have always read that 5-6 nuts a day is
plenty (especially for dense nuts) and a big problem with vegetarians when they
first start eliminating meat and attempting to get proteins. They think it is healthy to eat plenty of nuts, but this has been found to be true or helpful. Many people have major issues with almonds and it
seem so to be in everything "healthy". Also cheese seems to be included in many recipes which is
phlegm causing from my knowledge, clogging up the body in nearly every area and probably overtaxing the gallbladder a bit.
Also, since
Flax is said to become toxic when heated or ground, it might not be the best choice for
several cooked recipes. From what I know, Coconut flour might be good in small amounts.

I also noticed that Dr Davis was not really what I would call a lean guy but not too overweight either however, so I would guess, he has to test all the recipes himself :)

Wheat is a big problem, that is true, so if this type of
diet can help to transition people into a healthier diet without the cheese,
mega almonds or nuts, toxic broken or heated seeds, I am all for it. Perhaps
these recipes could be kept to a minimum with the basic diet of 25% various proteins to 75% veggies, colorful berries once a week along with one of these
recipes a week as an ultimate goal along with some basic exercise, for a better
outcome in health.

I have nearly eliminated all wheat except for any unavoidable, occasional meals at a friends houses here and there.

I make a fantastic chocolate "bean" cake from a modified recipe I found as a treat, which is not an everyday thing however. I make the cake, freeze everything except 2 pieces and take them out as I desire so I do not feel like I need to eat it everyday or it will spoil. I do not miss bread or wheat products at all.

I substitute beans to give me a bread like consistency if I need, but generally, I do not overdue with beans either.

I also found that my increasing craving for sweets in the evening were virtually eliminated by including complete proteins and good fats like quinoa and tahini as an evening snack.

Bulking up on veggies, especially green leafy ones, with small amounts of protein, good fats, complete protein combinations is my focus. The only natural sweetener I found to not interfere with the body is a particular brand "Sugar in the Raw" (which you can buy bulk in a box or in packets) so the company must be doing (or not doing) something no other company seems to be doing. Of course, we all know by now that artificial sweeteners actually make the body fatter, so I am not going into that right now.

Everything in moderation was my mother's motto, and I agree. Growing up, dessert was reserved for holidays and birthdays and most were natural fruit pies. Fruit was minimal on a daily basis (too sweet for everyday). Now they say colorful berries are the best choices but other fruits might only be considered with the season they are grown (like melons in the summer, squash (yes, squash has seeds, thus a fruit!) in the fall etc.

I call Dr. Davis' "Wheat Belly fat", "FLUFFY FAT" which is basically, not fat just in the belly, but includes "cellulite" type fat.

This type of fat melts away in 2 short weeks with a Fluffy Fat diet I prescribe in my practice. There is a little more to it than just restricted eating. There are other issues that can inhibit dropping of the fluffy fat when these elements are not included along with the diet. The fat can return quickly when all these things are not involved together, actually making the person fatter than before! Generally people lose about 10 lbs on the diet during the 2 weeks.

Many years ago, I began to develop a little belly (like a half of a small basketball) and was even asked if I was pregnant at one point. My energy had gradually become depleted and my mind was foggy. I felt weak and knew something was wrong. While standing at work one day and talking to a friend of my father's who had come in, I thought to myself, I am going to die now. I looked around, and thought at least my father's friend would be able to inform someone. I held myself in place by leaning on the counter in front of me and eventually the conversation was over, the friend left and I sat down. It took several minutes but I recovered. In a quest to discover what could be the problem, I found this diet.

I was about 5 lbs overweight when I first did the diet and still lost 10 lbs, shortly afterward, my weight stabilized to my normal weight, I felt healthy, strong, with loads of energy, my mind was clear, my muscles were defined (instead of the flabby arms I seems to always have). I felt like I worked out everyday when actually I did not. The cellulite in my legs and buttock was completely gone (which I have had since a teenager, no matter what I tried before), my legs were completely smooth!

I generally complete this 2 week diet at least once a year (whether I have fluffy fat or not), but usually twice a year (spring and fall). In between, I try to follow this type of diet as closely as possible in my everyday life for better health overall. With this type of schedule, if I get off track, it is not a big problem for my health.

Maybe I should write a book ;)

Congrats, Dr Davis on his Wheat Belly Diet concept and reaching so many people in need of a change!

When I asked what they were, she said "bruises" and showed me all the "bruises" all over her legs as well. Upon further investigation I discovered that the patches started after a lapband procedure. She had been quite overweight and also had high blood pressure and was put of several blood pressure meds before the lapband.

The first thing that came across my mind was that she was internally bleeding, but why?
Some blood pressure meds thin the blood and when you are grossly overweight, your body's blood pressure is usually high, but when you lose weight, you may be able to reduce or eliminate your BP med. She never addressed this BP meds with the doctor, so I started to think that the meds were working too well???

Blood vessels are tubes and the outer sheath is permeable to some degree. When blood pressure meds thin the blood, it can more easily travel outside the vessel and apparently to the extent of creating large bloody patches under the skin that some people consider bruises. (Ah, modern medicine) Even medical doctors treat these "bruises" with topical creams. Which makes absolutely no sense to me, since it is, from my stand point, an internal problem. Some doctors treat this as rosacea but the skin is flat, not raised as in rosacea. This is most likely a capillary issue.

Phytonutrients help to rebuild the vessel walls. Phytonutrients are generally the "skins" of things (which makes sense to repair the "skin" of the blood vessel), a perfect example is the pith of an orange or grapefruit. Most people who are to the point of having these large bloody patches or "bruises" a bit beyond what food therapy might be able to address in a short time, but there are natural food-based supplements which have been shown to help (also, pith is a little hard to eat because of it's bitterness).

Since this patient, I have notice several (especially over 50 years of age) people with the same condition and because they are not patients of mine, I have no idea if they are on blood thinners, blood pressure meds or their history. I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar issue or thoughts.

Why do "Health Nuts" not look so healthy?

Are you the "Healthy" one in your group of friends or family. Do you eat all the right stuff, religiously take every supplement that is recommended by Dr. Oz, exercise, consume whole grains and beans, veggies and stay away from junk food etc? Are you almost neurotic about it?

Ok, that's me, I can't say I am always vigilant, we can all fall into the trap of the double chocolate birthday cake now and then, but in general, I work fairly hard at doing what I believe to be the right thing when it comes to what I eat without driving every waiter or companion crazy.

Salad has been my staple when in doubt on any occasion.

Some time ago, I found that I chipped my front tooth and have been on a search for resolution every since. In my journey an observation arose. Over the years I have been posed the question from those "health nuts" which is...

I do everything right, I eat right, I exercise, I don't drink or smoke, I do everything right, so why am I having this issue.

Most of them I can stereo-type in to one category... women who are almost too "thin". I see it a lot in my practice. It is easy to notice that young girls are too thin these days which seems to be the socially accepted "norm", no matter how unhealthy it is. But I am talking about women from around 30 and up. They seem to eat like birds, take a lot of nutrition supplements, exercise too much and feel they need to control every aspect of their diet and their family or friends diets. The never feel like they are relaxed and it is hard to relax around them because they seem to just make every situation stressful however hard they try not to. And they try really hard not to be or create stress, it seems they can't help themselves.

I pretty much fit that description also and have had to learn to keep my mouth shut when it comes to health in a casual conversation. I am quite passionate about health and nutrition, mostly because it is my profession, but I believe I have always been interested in the subject.

When I run across a patient that I find to be as I have described, I have often wondered: Why are they coming to see me, they are doing everything right?

I have found most of their issues are related to mineral deficiencies, which when supplemented, seems to help, but I had always believed there was some element that I was missing and recently I have pondered whether I have discovered what it is.

In my journey to find if I could "regrow" my chipped tooth, I came across a fascinating book that made me rethink certain foods that I had long since removed from my diet for one reason or another. Now, I am reintroducing them with a twist and finding some positive results.

As a kid and young adult, I was a big milk drinker. In my 20's I would consume about 1/2 gal of milk per day. I loved milk. When all my friends were eating pizza with a cola, I was eating it with milk. It seemed like the only thing that would settle my stomach (which was almost always full of "bubbles") Later, when I was informed that milk was probably the thing that was creating the problem, as hard as it was, I quit all milk products and low and behold, the problem disappeared, along with several other issues that I had since childhood.

From what I understand, milk is over-process in our society and maybe why it seems to "clog" up the body. As a child I remember the milk man delivering fresh milk to our door every morning. It would come with about an inch of cream on the top which would have to be mixed in (kind of a home homogenization process, HA).

Some people say that the molecules of cow's milk are too large to be utilized by the human body and that even calves do not take the cow's milk after they are grown. Most understand that goats milk is structured more similar to human milk than cow's milk... and generally the FDA does advise against consuming raw milk.

Either way, I did a little experiment and the results may or may not have something to do with the missing element. I began to drink raw cow's milk. Over the period of a month, I saw the tiny vertical lines around lips disappear. My eyebrows became thicker (for years, it seemed to me they were getting thinner and thinner, requiring more brow liner to fill them in). My eyelashes filled in. I had always had skimpy eyelashes, so imagine my surprise, when I looked into the mirror and decided I did not need eyeliner! My deltoid muscle became larger and defined. (It is commonly know that the deltoid muscle is the last to shrink during starvation - now think of all those skinny girls with almost nonexistent deltoid muscles!) My skin became more plump...as if I has a collagen injection. As far as the milk goes, I was only drinking about 4-6 oz a day. I admit, I was also eating raw cheese, raw butter and some raw sour cream throughout and this may have added to the effect.

I have since been told by my medical doctor not to consume milk, stating that it is not good for me. This is kind of the standard response. She says the residual effect are not worth it but I have to say, I was loving the results when I was drinking milk....

Any thoughts?

I would like to know if anyone else has noticed anything from drinking goat's milk?

Do you
eat all the right stuff, religiously take every supplement that is
recommended by Dr. Oz, exercise, consume whole grains and beans, veggies
and stay away from junk food etc? Are you almost neurotic about it?

Ok,
that's me, I can't say I am always vigilant, we can all fall into the
trap of the double chocolate birthday cake now and then, but in general,
I work fairly hard at doing what I believe to be the right thing when
it comes to what I eat without driving every waiter or companion crazy.

Salad has been my staple when in doubt on any occasion.

Some
time ago, I found that I chipped my front tooth and have been on a
search for resolution every since. In my journey an observation arose.
Over the years I have been posed the question from those "health nuts"
which is...

I do everything right, I eat right, I exercise, I don't drink or smoke, I do everything right, so why am I having this issue.

Most
of them I can stereo-type in to one category... women who are almost
too "thin". I see it a lot in my practice. It is easy to notice that
young girls are too thin these days which seems to be the socially
accepted "norm", no matter how unhealthy it is. But I am talking about
women from around 30 and up. They seem to eat like birds, take a lot of
nutrition supplements, exercise too much and feel they need to control
every aspect of their diet and their family or friends diets. The never
feel like they are relaxed and it is hard to relax around them because
they seem to just make every situation stressful however hard they try
not to. And they try really hard not to be or create stress, it seems
they can't help themselves.

I
pretty much fit that description also and have had to learn to keep my
mouth shut when it comes to health in a casual conversation. I am quite
passionate about health and nutrition, mostly because it is my
profession, but I believe I have always been interested in the subject.

When
I run across a patient that I find to be as I have described, I have
often wondered: Why are they coming to see me, they are doing everything
right?

I have found most of
their issues are related to mineral deficiencies, which when
supplemented, seems to help, but I had always believed there was some
element that I was missing and recently I have pondered whether I have
discovered what it is.

In my
journey to find if I could "regrow" my chipped tooth, I came across a
fascinating book that made me rethink certain foods that I had long
since removed from my diet for one reason or another. Now, I am
reintroducing them with a twist and finding some positive results.

As

So when you see someone limping or favoring one leg, it is logical that the other leg is doing something that it would not be doing if they were walking normally. The body kind of torques and twists to accommodate the leg, so one shoulder will generally drop lower than the other and probably be rotated a little more forward, etc.. What do you think happens to the neck? And is the neck attached to the head? Sure! So lets look at the backwards.

It is know that there are 22 bones in the head and they are connected by sutures of a sort. These suture areas allow the 22 cranial bones to flex, ever so slightly to allow for the pulse of the brain. Just think of when a baby goes through the birthing canal. In the past, it was believed that those flexible bones would fuse together and then never move again. Now we know they still move, just minimally. However, they can become stuck or unable to move for many reasons. Some believe the movement of the cranial bones through the birthing canal is a necessary trip to kick start the pulse of the brain, otherwise, they become stuck and lead to asthma, illness etc. The common use of forceps and suction during birth might also be restricting the pulse from starting.

Once the bones are immovable, all types of things become restricted in the body. Why? Because the Dura Mater connects nearly everything from the brain, through the spinal nerves and this material eventually connects to the fascia (which covers every muscle fiber and group of fibers in the body). If the bones are restricted, the Dura Mater is not able to work properly, eventually the body has to compensate so it twists itself up over the years. Eventually, one day you look in the mirror and one hip is higher than the other. One shoulder is higher than the other, your head is slightly tilted and cocked to one side. One leg is shorter than the other, etc. But all you notice is this slight limb that seems to be getting worse even though you have never had an injury and your shoes wear out differently on one side. Of course an injury could also affect the cranial bones.

So here we are with these immovable cranial bones....what to do, what to do... There are techniques now which address just that, and take only minutes to do. I call them "cranial techniques" :)

Cranial Techniques loosen the cranial bones to allow movement again and the results I am getting are FASCINATING! 25 year ringing-in-the-ears is gone after one treatment. Pain is gone, vision starts to clear, improved mental clarity, neck pain gone, shoulder pain gone, numbness in the arm gone. Most patients say they feel they can finally take a deep breath without struggling or stand up without back pain. What I notice is that most people have one eye lower than the other or slightly more closed. After the treatment they are the same level and size!

I learned this technique several years ago, but only recently began to use it again. There are so many advantages. Nearly everyone has some type of structural holding pattern and can benefit. So if you are not near my offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL or Kelleys Island, OH, try to find someone in your area and give it a try. I recently worked on a 50 year old, that has practiced yoga for years and even she exclaimed it helped her.

Look 10 years Younger - Acupuncture Facials diminish wrinkles without pain

Are those little lines and wrinkles creeping up on you?
Do you have an aversion to surgery or just don't like the unnatural look of face lift/plastic surgery?

I remember the first time that I recognized the manner in which Acupuncture Facials could affect someone. During "clinic rounds" while I was studying Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, I worked on a patient who signed up for 10 sessions of Facial Acupuncture, however, I only worked with her the first visit.

About 7 weeks later, I saw a vaguely familiar woman walking down the clinic hallway and asked one of the other students who she was.

The student told me that woman was the patient who was receiving the Acupuncture Facial series.

I was shocked!

She looked 10 years younger to me. (If I recall correctly, she was appx 45-47, but definitely looked in her mid 30's) The other students working with her said they thought it was improving her appearance but it seemed more gradual to them, since they had seen her and worked with her every week. I had only seen her the first visit. I believed she also looked "healthier" and definitely had a "glow" that she did not have at the start of the treatment. Acupuncture not only affects the superficial aspect of the lines and wrinkles, it also treats the underlying health issue that contribute to aging skin which no surgery can affect. So you feel better, look better and are healthier in the long run.

She came one time a week for 10 weeks total which is the recommended treatment course.

Since then, I have performed these Anti-Aging Acupuncture Facials in my practice but have always wondered why anyone would have facial surgery, when this non-surgical, natural face-lift was available.

The biggest hurdle that Acupuncture faces is that people generally cannot believe that it is not painful. I can only explain it like this:

Acupuncture needles are so tiny, similar to the size of a cat's whisker. The shape and design of the "filaform" needle allow it to slip between skin fibers rather than tear a hole in the nerve rich upper layers of the skin like a hypodermic syringe (which we are more accustomed to in the medical field). Generally, you do not even feel a pinch with Acupuncture needles.

Acupuncture filaform needles are inserted using a tube that is slightly shorter than the needle. The needle is then popped quickly, rather than forced/pushed as with a syringe. Because the skin's nerve endings are located in the top layer of the skin, and the Acupuncture needle quickly bypasses this area, thanks to the the tube, the patient only feels the pressure of the tube, which also distracts the nerve endings. Most patients feel NO needle insertion.

I usually demonstrate needle insertion on myself for apprehensive patients, which ellicits no reaction at all from myself. This usually eliminates most fears but I also offer a topical anesthesia/numbing cream which is helpful with patients receiving facial work.

Acupuncture anti-aging facelifts are approx. 1/10th + the cost of plastic surgery (it's like getting a 90% discount without the bruises and recovery!) Usually no one knows you are having "work done", because the results are gradual, over a 10 week time period. However many patient mention that their friends ask if are doing something different. Many patients simply tell friends they are getting Acupuncture for stress, which is completely accurate! (It is highly recognized for reducing stress and affecting all types of pain also).

If you want a great alternative to plastic surgery face lifts, I feel that Anti-Aging Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation far-exceeds in all respects.

Patricia J Ahner, AP, LAc, LMT
www.healingx.org
www.contact@get-relief.com

Rebuilding Bone, Restoring Health, What's in a Tooth?

I have noticed in the past several years that my teeth seemed "weak". They even had developed some vertical lines which tend to come and go to some degree. These lines started showing up on just the front teeth and eventually developed throughout my teeth. In my search for answers, I came across a little book on how to cure tooth decay naturally.

This book has lead me deep into the memories of my past, when it was ok to drink milk, eat cheese and meats. When I was young, we had milk delivered to our doorstep in a glass bottle. The cream was thickly floating on the top of bottle and my mother would mix it by shaking.

I used to absolutely LOVE milk. I can even remember eating pizza (which was nearly never) with milk. Almost any fruit was eaten in milk or with sour cream. It was the only way I liked it. It was not until my mid-thirties that I was convinced that Milk, my beloved Milk, was the cause of my many digestion/elimination issues which had been going on for years. I reluctantly quit all dairy, and low and behold, the issues that plagued me for most of my adulthood, disappeared. I had relayed my story to anyone who would listen over the years and many people had found relief in the same way.

NOW, from what I have recently read, and with my little experimentation utilizing the information I have found, I have begun partaking in raw milk products and discovered that though I cannot tolerate more than a glass of milk a day, and a few slices of cheese and or cultured milk product, I am seeing improvement in my teeth AND am noticing the sagging skin on my face plump up. My skin texture is smoothing and my body's muscle mass is beefing up etc.

I am esctatic! All this with just a few small changes involving raw and cultured milk products over the last month. This may sound strange but even my eyebrows are thickening (over the years, I have noticed that my eyebrows were thinning, my eyes would sometimes look sullen and sunken in, it is a look I alway associated with old people as a malnourishment in my practice)

I have begun to ponder....Is it possible that the only "unhealthy" thing about Milk is the processing? ...that Milk really does do a body good when it is less processed? Could weak teeth be just another indicator that something is lacking in your diet?

Some of you many ask, "can you even buy raw milk?" Well, it is really not recommended that humans drink raw milk (I believe that is the recommendation of the FDA) and I cannot recommend anyone does it either but yes, you can usually buy it for your animals or through a co-op.

It may be better to culture your raw milk products, but definitely you should educate yourself on raw products before you proceed.

Pasteurization pretty much kills the bacteria, but it also kills the good stuff, so I chose to try it raw myself and so far, so good.

Anyone else have thoughts/experience on raw milk and raw milk products?

Patricia J Ahner

pahner@healingx.org

www.healingx.org

www.get-relief.com

Manic Depression and Princess Leia?

I just watched Carrie Fisher on Oprah who is recovering from several things and dealing with manic depression. Gosh, Princess Leia!

I wanted to scream out, chemical toxicity, mineral deficiency! But basically, it seems people are not educated to believe there is an alternative solution that may go beyond what the allopathic medical system is offering.

I tend to approach a patient by first considering what the root cause is. Is it metabolic/internal, and what is different from a person with depression (for example) than a person without depression? Hmmmmm, the healthy person has no toxicity and good mineral electrolyte activity.

Toxins, over-stress the liver (the liver processes things like toxins/chemicals etc. from the body). If the liver is over-stressed by either too many toxins coming in or too much internal breakdown happening. It cannot clean the blood like it should and makes you feel sluggish, give you headaches, leads to depression, migraines, pain, etc.

Then the next consideration is: how do you assist the liver?

First, stop dumping chemicals / toxins into the body like the obvious drugs (prescription* or otherwise), etc. but the not-so obvious things like Chlorine from your drinking water/shower/wash, pesticides on the food (and in the water I presume) chemical cleaning products in the air, perfumes and sprays, plug-in room deodorizers, car fumes (ok, some you cannot help but come in contact with, but the idea is to eliminate any toxins you can).

Next eat your vegetables and cut back on your meat and bad fats like butter and margarine, stay away from standard milk and milk products. In my opinion, 70% of the food that goes into your mouth should be fresh vegetables (or very lightly steamed), then a little meat if you feel the need but also a variety of grains. Beets are especially helpful to the liver from what I have found. Beet leaves seems to assist the gallbladder. Vegetable help clean the body and nourish the body with vitamins and minerals.

I have completely eliminated cow's milk and converted to coconut milk, (but still struggling to find a good clean source that is not in a can) because I believe it totally interferes with the body and when I cut it out, I feel so much better and don't get that mucous discharge with my bowel movement anymore. Milk, these days, I am told is pretty much dead or not useful to the body. Why put something that is not useful into the body when you have any type of toxicity?

Minerals do so many things for the body and practically everyone seems to be mineral deficient. Some people don't realize that minerals are not vitamins. Minerals rebuild bones, help the electrolyte activity of the body. Move the blood, work the muscles, including the heart, etc. Food based Minerals are the only way to go. If they are not food based, you could be doing more harm than good in my opinion. If your minerals are food based, you know they are absorbable. If they are not absorbable, what happens to them? They get stored all over the body, in the vessels, joints etc. Over the years you could have a big problem. Purified water can help get some of that non-absorbable stuff out but, if you take food-based minerals, you never have to worry about that (unless you drink spring water or tap water of course).

So if Carrie Fisher showed up in my office, most likely, I would work with Acupuncture, Nutrition and Food Therapy depending on my findings. I would probably have her drink purified water, work with her digestive enzymes, pancreas, gallbladder, liver and kidneys also her elimination system. I would guess that in less than 6 months she would be feeling much, much better if not before.

The medical system seems to poo, poo alternative therapies, often inferring that there is no proof these therapies work, no statistics. True, statistics are hard to come by. There is not much funding available for Alternative Therapies (especially ones that do not support the prescription drug system or make big money for the healthcare system) and there are not easy ways to measure these therapies other than with clinical findings, which do not seem to hold much value in the western medical world, so why bother until it can be measured?

Now, my question to you is; how do I get this information to the general public, and to influential people like Oprah and Carrie Fisher? How do I reach those ordinary people looking for relief from depression, anxiety, Insomnia etc. Sometimes it is frustrating to see so many people suffer needlessly. If there were a common public venue or support for this information, wouldn't it be wonderful? The allopathic system has so many things in place to capture the attention of the general public, including owning the word "cure" for all intensive purposes. If any other therapist has even the remotest success with a patient, even if they fully recovered, they can never claim they were cured, because they could lose their license.

I had one patient that was scheduled for knee surgery and walked into my office on a cane. He walked out without one and his doctor said he no longer needed surgery and could not explain why. Was he cured? No, he fully recovered and has never needed the surgery even several years later. When a patient calls and asks if Acupuncturist can cure knee pain or migraines, etc., the answer has to be "no" because we are not permitted to offer a cure.

Basically, it is true, no one cures. The body does it, we just give the body what it needs to cure itself. Frankly, has the allopathic system cured much of anything? If you need surgery, there is no better place to go than to a surgeon. If you need a full recovery, where should you go? I would not go to a surgeon. If you have pain, depression, headaches, etc. I would not want to cover it up with prescription drugs, I would want to recover. There are literally thousands of alternative therapies out there to choose from these basic things I listed above give the body a head start to recover on it's own.

www.get-relief.com

www.healingx.org

contact@get-relief.com

*I am recommending that you consult your allopathic doctor before you make any changes, but keep in mind that allopathic doctors are not alternative therapist and most only know their particular field. If you are on prescription drugs, you have no choice but to follow the doctor's orders but try to implement what you can with the other suggestions and continue to ask if you can be safely taken off the medication or if there is a drug free way to address your issue. Seek out an Alternative Therapist to complement your treatment with advise on diet and nutrition, etc.

Weight Loss: I Finally lost the Belly Fat in my 50's

I am one of those girls that just never lost my "belly fat". You know, I am not really overweight and have not been for years, when I am more physically active, I am a little underweight, but to no avail, the belly fat has always been there. Even during my heavy work out days, it remained.

Summer of 2009, my belly fat increased to the point that someone asked me "are you pregnant?" My reply was "No, but I have this weird belly fat that has been growing lately, really weird". I went about my normal routine throughout the summer, and found I was getting more and more tired. There was not much time to pay attention to my fatigue, so I just kept "goin' on". Then one day, a friend of the family came up to me and started talking to me. I did not hear a word he said, I thought, "I am going to collapse, right now, this is it, I am dying" as I leaned against the counter to hold myself up, I thought, "well, at least this guy knows my father and will find him and someone will alert the EMT's". I was trying to respond politely in the conversation but was totally disconnected, then he finished his conversation and left. At this point, I sat down, but just did not feel right, and after some time, the feeling went away, I never felt rested after that, always tired, dragging. Granted, I work non-stop in the summer, but I never felt quite this exhausted before.

I vowed that I would take some time for myself to figure out what was wrong with me. Skipping forward to the end of the summer when I finally had a little time to work on myself, I made an appointment with my chiropractor who works with muscle testing (specialized applied kinesiology) like I do, but I really wanted an objective view. Long story short, I tested positive for candida. I could not believe that I did not figure it out myself, but they always say, you cannot doctor yourself and I find that to be true in most cases.

So I started a candida diet and also worked with a technique that accelerates the process. In 2 weeks., all my belly fat was gone, I had more energy than I had in YEARS and my mind was clearer, my muscle was more defined etc. I was amazed and I was 10 lbs lighter!

I started muscle testing my patients for candida and every one of my weight loss patients came up positive. Even patients with other issues like Fibromyalgia, started getting better by using the same techniques when they showed candida as interfering with the body.

Candida is an overgrowth of yeast in the body. Just think of when you make bread, you add yeast to flour and place the mix in a warm environment, the ball of dough rises/ inflates and gets fluffy. When I see patients with what I call "fluffy fat", that is a big clue that candida is at work.

I have found that almost everyone that comes in shows some degree of yeast or candida. Almost everyone who sticks with the 2 week restricted diet ends up losing an average of 10 lbs. A few that only made it a week, lost 4-5 lbs. This is not actually a weight loss program, it is a Candida Program, but since so many issues are related to Candida, they seem to be resolved. I had achey pain all over my body before the diet, but it mysteriously disappeared after. Over the years, I just became accustomed to the pain, thought it was from physically working to much etc, but it was constant for many year, especially when it was cold out for some reason.

The other aspect I became aware of was the "cellulite" that had been present since I was a teenager, started disappearing. You know that bubbly/lumpy skin on the backs of your thighs that makes you want to wear long skirts and pants? That stuff. It was not completely gone, but my skin appeared smooth and "unrippled". It occurred to me that Candida and Cellulite might be related, so I began to experiment with utilizing metal detox with the candida diet and found it to be a necessary step.

From my observations, I hypothesized that, cellulite is a ball of fat, which has encapsulated a piece of metal. Heavy metals, get in the body through the water, pans we cook in, aluminum pots, the air etc. The really have no way to be released or "vehicle" to help them chelate from the body. The body is doing what it should, it is placing a ball of fat around the sharp metal, so it does not cause damage. It is storing it. When you melt fat, the metal is released in the body.

Heavy Metal Toxicity, I believe, can cause all types of issues. Some believe a myriad of mental disorders are related to Heavy Metals from Alzheimer's to Autism, so it has to be addressed during weight loss. And when it is, it seems that cellulite smoothes out. An added bonus in my opinion.

It has been over a year now since my candida diet and my belly fat is still gone. I started eating different and using my diet to control my health more. I still see a little cellulite but it is steadily decreasing

No matter who you are, or how much you know, you can always learn something new and I am so grateful to have learned, first hand, the effects of candida and how to get rid of it so that I can pass my experience on to so many people suffering needlessly.

Here's to your Flat Belly's and GOOD health!

copyright 11/28/2010

www.healingx.org/DaniaServices.htm

Health & Healing: Build your Mind or Destroy your Mind and Body: Cell Phones and Microwaves

Health & Healing: Build your Mind or Destroy your Mind and Body: Cell Phones and Microwaves

Build your Mind or Destroy your Mind and Body: Cell Phones and Microwaves

Human beings have a built-in ability to communicate through thoughts (telepathy), which is a natural function of the right brain. However, modern education focuses primarily on left brain development by training the analytical, rational mind which automatically suppresses right brain usage and intuitive and non-verbal communication skills, which are common among animals.

While the left brain computes information at an inefficient rate of 15 bytes per second, the right brain processes a minimum of 1.3 million bytes per second. Children who are being encouraged to mostly use their right brain through creative and playful expression, and learning their life lessons directly from nature, naturally activate and expand their innate telepathic abilities. On the other hand, those who are being told to rely on their rational mind to deal with life's affairs, find that their intuitive, telepathic skills atrophy, or worse, disappear altogether.

Cell phone use is based on verbal or written communication skills that require almost only left brain activity and automatically shut down right brain-based communication skills.

Although most people would agree that cell phone devices are a great advancement of technology that have made life so much easier and practical, very few are aware that they have actually further robbed us of our built-in, perfect and instant communication abilities.

In the name of progress, we have allowed those who benefit from determining and manipulating the desires and trends of the masses to determine what is good for us, and most of us seem to love it. We didn't notice, however, that this type of modern technology is used to stupefy the mind and create zombies who can no longer think for themselves, but rather learn to depend on technologies, large corporations and governments in order to survive.

We already know that placing a cell phone near a beehive drives the bees away for good (they cannot find their way back home). We depend on bees for our food and survival. Besides having caused a massive increase in brain cancers, cell phone radiation causes us to become disoriented, too, as has been shown in research done in the UK. This also negatively affects our decision-making ability. Furthermore, cell phone usage and cell towers interfere with fertility (more about that in the article).

Whether it is done intentionally or unintentionally, those who promote the use of cell phones are increasingly turning them into weapons of mass destruction to achieve population reduction. Being such a big and ongoing money maker, and so practical, it is easy to employ this weapon and nobody will resist it, including children.

According to research, a two-minute call can alter the natural electrical activity in your child?s brain for one hour. Multiply this by the average 2,600 minutes a month your child is on the phone?and you get 22 hours (nearly a day) of unnatural brain activity. Brain cancers among children are rising at dramatic rates. There is a five-fold increase in cancer among people who started use in childhood. In the UK, 9 out of 10 children now use cell phones, and 40% of primary school children have their own cell phones. But cell phone radiation also affects reproductive functions.

Rendering children infertile even before their child-bearing age, and creating disoriented and demented people that pose no threat to the establishment, along with the vaccination programs designed to suppress the immune system, are perhaps the main means to achieve the population reduction that the World Health Organization and some of the most influential leaders in the world have publicly called for.

We all have a choice in whether to support the destruction of the world as we know it, or to enhance peace, harmony and abundance for everyone. Each choice we make counts, no matter how small, especially when it can impact so many other people as radiation does. For the sake of my own health and that of my fellow human beings, I choose not to use a cell phone, unless it is for an emergency.1

ARE CELL PHONES SAFE?

Yes. Absolutely. As long as they are turned off. Of course, that still leaves the transmissions towers that radiate pulsed microwaves in all directions, 24/7.

CELL PHONE RADIATION

- Leaves phone in spherical pattern, microwaves penetrate skull.

- Dangerous at low power.

- Disrupts critical cellular functions.

- Industry suppressing studies and lying about dangers.

- Criminally inadequate standards - no standards for worst effects.

- Interacts with toxic chemicals in the body, revving up cancer cells.

- Especially dangerous around fetuses, children, and in metal vehicles.

- Effects follow a dose-response curve: more exposure is worse.

- Effects are cumulative and persist for hours after cell phone is turned off.

BLUE SMOG

The big and growing concern is for people and other animals continuously exposed to the ?blue smog? of microwave pollution. More than 50 residential and occupational studies have concluded that exposure to electromagnetic fields from cell phone towers promote brain cancer, female and male breast cancer, miscarriages and other serious health maladies.

Leukemia is more common among mobile phone users. When Italian researchers exposed leukemia cancer cells to low-power 900-MHz frequency digital phone towers: after 24 hours' continuous exposure to these low power pulsed microwaves: 20% of leukemia cells were killed. After 48 hours' exposure, these effects reversed, making them replicate ferociously.

Base stations radiate up to 50 Watts per channel in Australia-even more across rural America.

Mice exposed to heating of only 0.17 to 1.05 microwatts per square-centimeter in an ?antenna park? ended up with irreversible sterility. The current U.S. exposure standard of 579 microwatts per square centimeter is 500 times higher.

Potentially dangerous radiation occurs in a widening cone of transmission at up to 800 feet from towers rising 150-feet or higher above the ground. The herd-like behavior of cell phone users is dangerous. In Germany, cows grazing under cell phone towers are dying of acute circulatory collapse and bleeding from several organs after microwave antenna installed on a tower formerly used to transmit only non-pulsed television and radio signals.

Humans are antennas too. As upright, ambulatory saline water bags, we attract electromagnetic fields.

Across Britain, Canada and the USA, newly introduced ?Picture Phones? featuring picture messaging are already boosting these tower transmitted power levels.

LOW POWER

Like many people, I thought that the new cell phones and cell phone towers radiate at power levels far too low to be dangerous. Current digital phones transmit at a fraction of the power of the first analogue phones. But many clinical studies now show that the damaging effects of cell phones and cell phone relay towers actually increase at low power levels!

Renowned biophysicist and electromagnetic radiation researcher Professor Neil Cherry points to dozens of epidemiological studies showing that chronic low level exposure to pulsed radio frequency/microwave radiation produces increased cancer risk.? The Barnett Study commissioned by the Australian government found that low power pulsed microwaves interfere with central nervous system, impair memory function, and result in damage to the eyes.

HOW CAN LOW POWER BE WORSE?

A low-intensity electrical field that can cause a disproportionately large response in much the same way that a low-power strobe light can induce seizures in susceptible people. It's not the amount of energy from the light that provokes the seizure-but rather the regularity of flashing at a frequency that matches or is close to a frequency utilized by the brain itself.

Weak microwaves broadcast by mobile phones can alter several hundred chemicals communicating vital processes in human brain cells.

The problem is all this pulsing. Cell phones jackhammer internal organs and the brain at 217 times every second. It's even worse using the new portables operating at 2.2 GHz or higher. That's an EMR ?wind? whipping cells like stalks of wheat back and forth 2.2 million times a second! The wheat will snap. When cells snap, the resulting DNA breaks can cause cancer.

The 1994 ?Barnett Report? prepared by Dr. Stan Barnett for the Australian government found that the speediest pathway for cancer promoters to spark cell proliferation occurs when electromagnetic radiation interference with normal cellular control.

Low-level microwaves have also been shown to alter brain, immune and heart activity-which like all cellular metabolism are basically electrical in nature. While you chat on your cell phone, your brain cells are also chattering away in chemical codes as each enzyme exchange pumps life-giving chemistry through the cell at one-tenth-of-a-volt. This subtle electrochemical dialogue also releases calcium and sodium ions that inhibit runaway cell division, and block rogue molecules.

Cell phone radiation increases this calcium efflux, tearing holes in the cell membrane, while every digitized conversation disrupts these vital whisperings between cells. Cell phone microwaves measured at one-tenth British ?safety? guidelines emit the frequencies causing the biggest changes in cell calcium levels. Excessive calcium found outside cells following EMR exposure show increased cell growth. Whether or not this leads to cancer is part of cell phone roulette.

In the early 1970s, Australian scientist Dr. Ross Adey traced calcium processes in cells to measure the effects of EMR exposure. Hired by the cell phone industry to defend their products, this leading corporate researcher found that cell phone effects are frequency-dependent.

After 40 years spent looking at how cells communicate with each other using calcium ion flows and tiny electrical impulses, Adey has become a fierce advocate of much lower cell phone radiation standards. Motorola withdrew its funding from Adey, whose laboratory at Loma Linda, California quickly collapsed as a result.

STRANDED

Exposure to pulsed Radio Frequencies produce double strand breaks that are known to lead to cell death. NP Singh and biomedical scientist Dr. Henry Lai at the University of Washington reported finding DNA strand breaks at levels one-fifth of American ?safety? limits.

Lai and Singh raised alarms when they repeatedly found double-strand breakages in DNA in live rat brains after just two hours' low-level exposure to both pulsed and older analogue cell phones.

Double-strand breaks, which break both sides of the twisted double-helix ladder in DNA, create serious genetic alterations and can lead to cancer, cell death or mutagenic problems. Brains show fewer DNA breaks during cell phone exposure than brain cells checked four hours after exposure.

MICROWAVES

Microwaves are very short waves of electromagnetic energy that travel through just about everything at 186,282 miles per second. They have been found to ?slightly cook? proteins in the blood. Because stress proteins are involved in the progression of a number of diseases, heavy daily cell-phone usage could lead to great incidence of disorders such as Alzheimer's and cancer.

A cell phone typically transmits at 2 to 5 watts. Even at one-ten-thousands of a watt, albumen proteins increase in the brains of half the rats examined. Rat DNA is very close to human DNA.

Swedish neurosurgeon Leif Salford, Dr. James Lin and other researchers have independently confirmed that after two minutes of cell phone exposures, the blood-brain barrier fails, allowing proteins to enter the brain. Once they stray into the brain, proteins that normally behave themselves in the blood could trigger autoimmune diseases such as Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis.

Damaged nerve cells in the brain can also lead to the dementia associated with Alzheimer's, premature aging, and Parkinson's disease. Medications that under normal circumstances would not be able to penetrate the blood-brain-barrier can also enter the brain during a cell phone conversation and do damage.

HEADACHES

Headaches widely reported among cell phone users indicate microwave-induced leakage of unwanted molecules into the brain. Nitrous Oxide regulates nerve transmissions and arterial flow to the brain. NOx also appears to play a role in Alzheimer's. If something restricts the NOx needed by your brain-headaches result.

Neurologists agree that even non-cell phone users continuously exposed to emissions from cell phones and towers could be at risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease.

FREQUENCY

Think of frequency as ?frequentlies?. The higher the frequency, the more cellular DNA is whipped back and forth. When it comes to interfering with living organisms, frequency is more important than power. Cell phones and relay towers transmit on the worst frequencies.

TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) allow multiple conversations to piggyback on microsecond gaps to share a single channel. Worldwide cell phones use Global System for Mobile Communications: GSM.

Living organisms are very likely sensitive to both the microwave carrier and the lower frequency pulsing of 83.4 Hz TDMA signals from cell phone towers-which correspond to the alpha brain waves of normal consciousness.

Cell phone towers use multiple frequencies to penetrate solid surfaces. The high-frequency 900+ MHz band used by digital cell phones is also very close to the resonant frequency of human DNA, as well as the resonant frequency of the human skull case.

Shouldn't we stop right there?

When you get a plane or enter a hospital and they tell you to turn your cell phone off to protect vital electronic equipment, is the electronic equipment in our heads any less worth protecting?

SAR

Like all radio transmitters, cell phones are government licensed. Cell phone ?safety? guidelines are called SAR. The Standard Absorption Rate measures the amount of heating over one square-centimeter of skin.

Because SAR looks only the physical heating of tissues, the resulting ?safe? declarations are like saying that smoking won't hurt you if you don't burn yourself!

At the same time, there are no ?average? humans. Age, health, gender, body mass, immune function-all matter. And cannot be standardized.

Cell phone microwaves are also amplified, and can morph into unintended frequencies when interacting with aluminum window frames, power lines and wet conditions.

SAR standards average out the power spikes erupting from cell phones. So cell phones that regularly microwave ?hot spots? in brain tissue at up to seven-times the average power used for licensing actually ?comply? with the much lower limits.

Phones pass or flunk inadequate safety tests depending on how they are held. A phone that really leaks radiation may simply be re-oriented until it passes.

USA SAR is 1.6 Watts/kg for civilians. Anyone working with extremely high-power military radar, radio and microwave transmitters is exempt from these regulations-but not from the effects.

Nothing ?safe? about CANADA Safety Code 6: not look at the immune compromised, electrically sensitive, young, females.

Canada's Safe Council funded by Motorola: Safe for industry to make profits.

Many biological effects of electromagnetic radiation exposure occur at induced heating of about 1°C or more.

Memory impairment is showing up in rats exposed to only SAR 0.6-for 45 minutes.

But for a given temperature increase the required SAR value is substantially higher for small animals. Therefore, data from mice underestimates the heating effect in humans.

The much more drastic ?non-thermal effects? of mobile phones - including the mass destruction of brain cells - are not regulated at all.

When it comes to covering cell phone liabilities, big insurers are saying, ?Forget it.? Lloyds and other major underwriters are not buying the SAR safety standards. They refused to cover cell phone liabilities back in 1999.

British government regulators have also refused to give mobile phones a clean bill of health.

Fears about radiation prompted the European Parliament to call for all mobile phones in Europe to carry health warnings.

CLASS B CARCINOGEN

Yet in 1990, the Environmental Protection Agency recommended that magnetic fields be classified as ?Class B? carcinogens-along with formaldehyde in carpets and wallpaper, DDT, pulp mill and wood stove dioxins and ubiquitous PCBs.

WINDOWS

Cell phones are licensed for specific power levels and frequencies. But it has recently been discovered that ?windows? form when randomly intersecting frequencies resonate unpredictably. When such cell phone harmonics occur, unintended variations in power levels and frequencies often exceed licensed limits.

SYMPTOMS

Powerwatch in the UK receives frequent calls from regular mobile-phone users reporting headaches, loss of concentration, skin tingling or burning or twitching, eye 'tics', very serious short-term memory loss, and buzzing or clicking in the head at night.

Also inexplicable aggression, fatigue, dizziness, agitation, chest pain and shortness of breath - symptoms that were not present before they started using cell phones.

Electromagnetic radiation from cell phones also cause lethargy, and a substantially reduced ability to learn. Widespread apathy and the inability to think coherently often cited as the ?dumbing down? of Americans could be the result of EMR pollution.

Residents living around cell phone towers often report the same symptoms. Cellular base stations crank power up and down to adjust to the strength of the signals they receive, radiating energy spiking as high as 240-times.

Reflection from building. Radiation triple wet conditions.

No rights to object environment (health). $250,000 fine CA allowing objections.

BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS ATTRIBUTED CELL PHONES

Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, brain cancer, female and male breast cancer and miscarriages have all been linked to cell phones.

Dr. John Holt reports that once cell damage from cell phones occurs, the damage is irrecoverable and inherited unchanged, from generation to generation.

THE EYES HAVE IT

Even if we close our eyes to cell phone dangers, the watery layer around the iris and retina absorbs cell phone radiation with every call-increasing the chances of contracting eye cancer. CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) found that the lens of the eye is acutely sensitive to RF radiation because of its lack of a blood supply and hence limited heat-dissipating capability.

Four-fold eye cancer 1 SAR 2001 Stang.

Glaucoma drugs and cell phones pose special dangers. Application of the glaucoma drug Timolol Maleate reduced the threshold for microwave-induced damage to just 0.26 W/kg.

The frequencies hardest on eyes are in the range of 1-10 GHz.

Every day some 300 million users are activating new 1.9 Gigahertz cell and portable phones.

Besides the eyes, the most vulnerable areas to cell phone heating are the testes.

Dr. John Moulder reports from the Medical College of Wisconsin that besides cataracts, reduced sperm counts are well-documented acute exposure hazards.

Sperm counts already down significantly 1989.

John Holt believes that the disappearance of frogs in remote rainforests where pesticides are never used is being caused by planet-wide ?radio wave pollution? interfering with electrically conductive, fertilized eggs spawned on the surface of ponds.

Iridium 66

Global Star 48

10 different satellite communications systems

much lower intensity

deep radar mapping Earth

Sperm counts are decreasing sharply in men for the same reason, he adds.

In Hungary Men who carried a phone with them on stand-by throughout the day had significantly lower sperm concentration. Those who had the phone in use had sperm counts lowered by up to 30 percent after 13 months' exposure.

HOW LONG CAN I TALK ON MY CELL PHONE?

Independent studies have shown that after two-minutes on a cell phone, the blood brain barrier opens - allowing proteins and other toxins in the bloodstream to enter the brain and kill brain cells.

Some researchers say the blood-brain barrier opens within one minute of exposure. So two minutes max, one minute or less is better - and no minutes at all is best. Remember, effects can linger for hours after the phone is shut off.

DRIVING IMPAIRED

Doctors say that the main public health concern should be motor vehicle collisions-not brain tumors, which increase in risk only 30 percent with regular cell phone use.

The risk of crashing your vehicle is 400% greater if you're ?on the phone?-or have just completed your call.

Prompted by insurers to look into cell phone hazards, the province of Ontario here in Canada found that heavy mobile users are involved in twice as many fatal road accidents than light users.

That's $4 billion a year in extra claims among cell phone-wielding drivers.

But it's not the distraction of dialing and talking on these phones that's causing so many crashes, the use of handheld cell phones are banned in moving vehicles in more than 45 countries - with notable exceptions of the USA and Canada.

In Australia fines range up to $1,200 per offence.

Studies have found that drivers using phones miss traffic signals and are slow to react. It doesn't matter if the driver is actually holding the cell phone.

The heightened probability of cracking up your car persists for up to 15-minutes after completing a call.

The chairman of the BC Medical Association's emergency medical services calls using a cell phone in a car it comparable to the risk of crashing while driving dead drunk.

HANDS FREE

?Hands-free? mobile speakerphones cause even more crashes because they typically emit 10-times more brainwave interference than handheld units. 600% car accident rate hands-free: Motorola study 1997

The Lancet driving study predicted, ?new laws, like one in New York that bans handheld cell phones, won't reduce the risk of accidents.?

The British government's decision to remove the health approval on hands-free kits followed a number of investigations showing that hands-free devices channel radiation directly into the users head through the connecting wire.

KIDS

CHILDREN, FETUSES

Children and teenagers should not use cell phones period. Their rapidly-dividing cells and the smaller thinner skulls and soft brain tissue of adolescents allow deeper penetration of radiation, while making young children especially susceptible conductors of electromagnetic energy from cell phones - and the cell phone antennas in their schoolyards and neighborhoods.

New Zealand has banned cell phone towers on school grounds. If cell phone towers are considered to dangerous to install near schools, why would they be any safer installed in your neighborhood?

Studies quoted in my report show that children and teens who use cell phones are at high risk for learning disabilities, aggression and early onset of senility.

A decade ago, the Barnett Report in Australia found that fetuses are affected more than their mothers, who should stay away from cell phones and cell phone towers.

Leading medical experts now question whether it is safe for children to use mobile phones at all. Doctors fear that disturbed brain activity in children could lead to psychiatric and behavioral problems or impair learning ability.

MD Gerald Hyland is a mobile phone adviser to the British government. He points to a Swedish study that found children's brains are affected for long periods even after very short-term use. This could affect their mood and ability to learn in the classroom if they have been using a phone during break time, for example.

The cell phone's deep penetration into children's brains could cause kids to lose their ability to concentration and remember-making it impossible to learn.

Cell phone use is also linked with aggressive behavior in kids - who may experience ?radical changes? in mood and behavior.

Dr. Michael Klieeisen conducted a famous Spanish study. He says they never expected to see continuing activity in the brain - after turning cell phones off.

He worries that immunity to infection and disease could be altered by interference with chemical balances in the brain. Flus and asthma?

ASTHMA

Everyone knows that if you want to give child asthma, give her dairy products like milk and ice cream. That will do it. Or give them a cell phone.

After the city of Sydney, Australian city went broadband ?wireless?-a 25% increase in asthma led researcher Peter Franch to find the production of bronchial spasm-causing histamine to nearly double after exposure to cellular phone frequencies. This disruptive histamine production persists after the phone is shut off.

Franch also found that cellular phone frequencies inhibit our body's cellular response to anti-asthmatic drugs.

Studies conducted in Sydney, Honolulu and twice in the UK all showed significantly higher leukemia rates in people living around transmission towers. The Sydney study found childhood leukemia at more than twice the expected rate.

I have always wanted to visit that spectacular seaside city. Now I wouldn't enter Sydney Australia at gunpoint. It would be like being locked into a room full of smokers.

With inception cell towers across USA 1995 similar spike major cities.

Dr. David Carpenter, Dean at the School of Public Health in New York believes that 30% of all childhood cancers are associated with EMF exposure.

87% of 11- to 16-year-olds in Britain own mobile phones; 40% of them spend 15 minutes or more talking each day on them. In terms of senility, brain cancers and autoimmune diseases-many of these kids will be doomed.

Children 5 to 9 using cell phones increased five-fold since 2000. [Times Jan 12/05]

Since 1996, Professor John Holt has looked at cell phones as a possible cancer culprit. Holt warns that cellular phones permanently damage human cells: ?Once the damage is created, the damage is irrecoverable-and inherited unchanged, from generation to generation.?

Just carrying cell phones can be dangerous if they're turned on. Once activated to receive calls, cell phones connect every 2 minutes with the nearest relay tower - emitting electromagnetic radiation that can penetrate nearby organs-such as the brain, kidneys, ovaries and testicles, depending on how the activated phone is used and carried.

PORTABLE PHONES

Up the EM spectrum toward visible light, waves become closer and closer - more loaded with energy - more harmful bio systems.

900 Mhz (million cycles/second) analogue much weaker than cell phones.

Less impact than new digital phones. But new Personal Communications Services frequencies 1800 to 1900 MHz bring permissible power densities up another 200%.

New digital cordless 5-6 Gigahertz range (billion cycles second) worse than cellphones.

Corded phones hard to find this side of an antique sale.

DECT phone always on in your residence same 2.45 GHz microwave ovens.

Cell Phone Shields

If radiation shields worked 100% and blocked all radiation from your cell phone - it would not be able to transmit. The best tested commercially advertised cell phone shield blocks 61% of electromagnetic radiation coming from the phone.

This is not good enough.

Because when cell phone shields measurably reduce electromagnetic radiation from the phone's transmitter, the phone and/or base station significantly boost their power levels to compensate - largely nullifying the effect and exposing even more passersby to ?second-hand? cell phone radiation.

Also people who think they are protected tend to use their cell phones more.

Experts recommend using a cell phone for no more than five minutes per month. Which should handle most emergencies. The best cell phone modification is made with a hammer.

Isn't that a bit over the top?

Are Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS or brain cancer over the top?

Who says cell phones are dangerous?

Leading corporate researchers Dr. Ross Adey, Dr. George Carlo, Dr. Michael Repacholi and others have denounced the dangers of cell phones after completing their studies.

The Lancet regularly carries medical studies detailing cell phone health effects.

Government studies in Britain and Australia showing how cellular phones disrupt cellular processes leading to disease have also received coverage in ABC News, Canada's CBC, CBS, The Guardian (London), New York Times, other mass media.

Motorola in the USA and Nokia in Europe are currently leading this ?cell phones are perfectly safe? approach. They've hired the world's biggest ?damage control? PR firm to present this lie. Burston Marsteller is very good at this, after successfully downplaying the Exxon Valdez, Bhopal and other disasters in the United States.

?The cell phone industry has consistently distorted the medical facts, and colored the public presentation of adverse evidence,? Fist snorts. If cell phones are so safe, why are top researchers being persecuted?

WHY THE PERSECUTION OF TOP RESEARCHERS?

If cell phones are so safe, why were the best researchers driven from the field and forced to close their labs after their funding was cut off?

Seattle's Bioelectromagnetic Research Laboratory at the U. of Washington is the oldest, most productive laboratory conducting research into the biomedical aspects of radio exposure. At least, it was. The lab used by Henry Lai and NP Singh will soon close down after losing their government funding.

BE SAFE

Except in true emergencies, always use a landline.

Doctors recommend limiting cell phone use to five minutes a month max.

Lai and Singh of the U. of Washington found that melatonin supplements capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier and neutralizing free radicals can counter the effects of cell phone pollution that destroy melatonin-causing the insomnia encountered by many habitual cell phone users.

This does not mean it's safe to use a cell phone if you take melatonin. But it may be helpful to take melatonin after unavoidable exposure.

Cell phones with internal antennas also reduce the phone's electromagnetic emissions. But again, the phone must transmit at higher power levels to compensate-or suffer from reduced range.

Because headsets that convey sound to the earpiece through a wire also deliver microwave radiation directly into your skull, a company has developed an air-filled wireless tube they say, ?delivers crystal clear sound? while eliminating the possibility of radiation reaching your head from the headset. But what do you do with the phone?

The danger regarding apparently reduced radiation is that users thinking they are ?safe? tend to use their cell phones more-increasing their exposure. The safest modification you can make to your cell phone is with a hammer.

People aren't dropping dead in the streets yet.

Statistical tools invented to identify isolated and acute diseases often miss low-level chronic conditions. Aussie techno writer Stewart Fist thinks it's possible that most modern societies have been suffering the effects of long-term background R/F exposures for a couple of generations. But no one has yet scientifically established the link.

Sudden spikes in death rates in cities like Sydney Australia that that have ?gone wireless? indicate big trouble ahead. Peter Franch attributes a 5% increase in death rates in that Australian city to the mass introduction of wireless relay towers.

Given the incubation time of most cancers, we are still a decade away from a sudden and unarguable ?spike? in debilitating illnesses-and a possible doubling of already high cancer mortalities-awakens the public to hazards as severe and as long covered-up as smoking.

LEADING RESEARCHERS

Neil Cherry in Christ Church, New Zealand considers the proliferation of cell phones, microwave towers and microwave pollution to be serious contributors to cancer, brain tumors and increasing neurological problems among the human population.

Neurosurgeon Leif Salford says that cell phone users already headed for Alzheimer's or dementia in old age will get these conditions much earlier, while those who would have escaped both maladies are at greater risk of succumbing to them.

Salford's best scenarios show both risk groups having a ?significantly diminished? number of working brain cells throughout their lives if they habitually use cell phones or live in the electrosmog produced by microwave transmitting antennas.

Salford and his colleagues at Sweden's prestigious Lund University have published ?before and after? images showing a clear link between radiation emitted by mobile phones and brain damage.

Salford adds, ?If this effect is transferred to young humans the effects can be terrifying.?

GEORGE CARLO

1993 the wireless industry association hired epidemiologist Dr. George Carlo to manage a six-year, $28 million research program looking into cell phone safety. When Dr. Carlo identified and confirmed genetic damage from wireless phone radiation, he did something completely unanticipated by his employers. He told the truth.

Carlo's research concluded cell phone users were twice as likely to suffer from brain cancer and rare tumors than non-users.

He spelled out his findings and concerns to the Chief Executive Officer AT&T Oct 7, 1999. His letter is in my report.

Carlo said severe cell phone risks use appeared to follow a dose-response curve - and the risk of contracting certain tumors more than doubled.

?Alarmingly?the industry has ignored the scientific findings suggesting potential health effects - they have repeatedly and falsely claimed that wireless phones are safe for all consumers including children. I am asking you to help us do the right thing?-in distributing the summary findings. -George L. Carlo PhD.

Another team of Aussie scientists funded by the communications giant Telstra exposed a group of mice to a digitally pulsed cell phone transmitting for two 30-minute periods each day - and also found a doubling of cancer rates. Most mobile phones zap between 10 and 30 times more radiation into the user's head than those Aussie mice were exposed to.

REPACHOLI

Telstra's favorite scientist Dr. Michael Repacholi had previously promoted the safety of cell phones in court cases against base-stations and towers. But Repacholi reversed his polarity in 1999, warning that low levels of non-ionizing radiation can create changes in animal tissue.

DR. STEPHEN CLEARY

Dr. Stephen Cleary World Health Organization researcher made his mark by finding that human brain cells show altered DNA after a single exposure to microwaves-and that such damage is probably cumulative. Cleary is also retiring from further cell phone research due to lack of funding, after being cut off by the cell phone industry's wireless research arm, and by Motorola-the biggest corporation giving grants to compliant scientists.

JERRY PHILLIPS

Dr. Jerry Phillips worked with Ross Adey. He, too, found his funding withdrawn after he published a paper revealing DNA damage at a SAR 0.0024 (1998. Replicated.) In the process, I noticed a peculiar looking area in his office and asked what it was. I was told it was a parasite "zapper".

Hmmmm, I thought, I have done this type of thing before. A friend of a friend had one - you hold 2 metal rods (one in each hand) and sit for 20 min., but this looked more involved to me, so I requested a treatment.

I laid down on the massage bed, covered with a sheet on top that looked like something you would use to roast a turkey. Then the 2 rods were placed (one in each hand) and were covered up by towels, so as not to touch the metallic sheeting. On top of me, was placed another "turkey roaster" sheet. And I was instructed to lay there for 20 min. after the machine was turned on. Very sci-fi :)

Immediately I felt a lot of "activity" in my head and face (I had been feeling like I had "fog on the brain", kind of a cloudy feeling, or fuzzy and had found myself squinting a lot for no apparent reason accept to think - LOL.

I felt some activity throughout my body as well, but the head and face were extremely prominent. As the time ticked down, I noticed less and less "activity" and more and more, that my mind was clearing up. When I was finished, I felt GREAT!

Like I said, I have done this type of thing before, but in NO WAY did I have this type of response before. So "A:", maybe I did not have parasites before, or "B:" the machine I used in the past was not doing the trick. I like to think I am in better shape now than in the past when I had the treatment, which makes me consider "B" as a possible reason, but I guess you never know.

2 weeks later I asked to be "zapped" again to compare results. Same procedure, but nothing, no feelings, etc., of course my mind was clearer and I was not having any cloudiness at the time.

I was so impressed, I got the machine for the patients in my office.

Parasites are a huge problem, not easy to eradicate, and can take over the body if the environments is right or the body is run down. With the way most people eat, they leave their body open to parasite invasion with poor intestinal flora and no immune system to fight back. This is a simple way to give the body a fighting chance.

I love it, easy simple and effective. Whenever someone says that have a "fuzzy headed" feeling, now, I immediately consider parasites first.

From what I understand, this system is similar to the systems that worm farmers have been using for years to bring worms to the surface of the soil to harvest, only this uses a slightly different frequency to kill the parasites in the human body.

Keep in mind, from what I have read on blogs and forums, that not all "zappers" are created equal either. I happen to concur, simply from my own experience, I trust the zapper I used and purchased. Which is perfect for me, since I am implementing a "raw food diet" to clean up the intestinal tract and improve that environment, so parasites will not be able to propagate any longer.

With the Zapper and the new diet, I plan to be parasite free!

Zap Away!!!!

Can you regrow a chipped tooth?

Very interesting question. About 15 years ago, I chipped one of my front teeth, the chip was located at the back part of the tooth, which started coming off but was still held together, like a hinge, with an overlap of the tooth below it. Not easy to describe, but basically it was still attached at the bottom "hinge".

I was not in an area to have it fix anytime soon, so I superglued it to the front section and held it together until it set in an effort to save the tooth until I could get to a dentist. When I arrived at the dentist, he said that apparently it was holding and I never gave it another thought until last Fri. when the chip came off in my mouth (no longer attached by the hinge effect).

I tried to get an appointment with a local dentist, but on Fri, it was impossible, so I opted to call on Monday. Yesterday I found a few posts online that talked about regrowing teeth, so I started to think about it, since I am a little worried the dentist will want to grind it down and put a cap on it. One guy basically said, he had chipped his teeth over the years and never thought to go to the dentist because they always grow back. And there are stories that Monks grow their teeth back.

I also find that there is a process being developed that will hit the market in a year or two for growing teeth using ultrasound. Now, I am no Monk, but I am interested in regrowing my tooth rather than destroying what is left, since it is not cosmetically visible (the back part of the lower front tooth) So I am going to give it a try and see what happens. I will keep you posted.

Please leave any info or comments, I am going to need some support, there is the big question as to how long it might take also! Wish me luck.

Allergy and Elimination Techniques

It seems that everyone has allergies today, right down to small children. You could go the route of having the skin testing done, which is basically one way to go, or you could work with someone that tests using specialized Applied Kinesiology or commonly called Muscle Testing (which really is not testing muscle strength but the interrupters to muscle strength) and Allergy Elimination Techniques. Painless and clinically accurate.

You may have been exposed to Specialized Applied Kinesiology through your local Chiropractor or Acupuncturist. In the testing you would hold your arm out perpendicular to your body and the therapist would ask you to resist when they put pressure on your arm. If you can easily resist without engaging other muscles to hold it in place or not, is an indicator for the therapist.

We use a series of testing like this to find what is disrupting the body and then we find things to desensitize the body to these disruptors, along with nutrition to help the body heal from the disruption, your body can eliminate almost anything, not just allergies, but body pain, headaches, emotional scars or interruptors etc.

Painless and effective,

IBS: spring has sprung!

Suddenly I have several patients coming to me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS

What I have found is that there is a HUGH need for pro and prebiotics, so I thought a little info might help people understand it a bit better.....

The probiotic is the good bacteria or flora for the intestines (we call the "gut") of which we have naturally, but which is destroyed by antibiotics and sometimes fever etc. so you need to reestablish the good bacteria/flora in that case. If you have IBS, generally, your bowel lining can be inflammed and not functioning properly, it does not have the flora it needs to fight off bad bacteria or handle what is going through it.

The probiotic/flora needs to be fed to proliferate or grow and maintain itself in the gut.
You feed your friendly bacteria/flora with prebiotic foods. Without the prebiotic foods, the probiotic flora/friendly/good bacteria loses it's battle to the bad bacteria and you need to start over. You need to feed/cultivate the flora/good bacteria

Optimally, it is better to feed the probiotic flora with prebiotic foods, rather than taking a probiotic forever, because you cannot take enough to have enough to fight. You need to grow good probiotic by eating prebiotic foods, so the probiotic/good bacteria/flora can grow up big and strong and have babies to fight the bad bacteria. :)

So actually you need to reestablish a good stock of probiotic flora (meaning that you need a lot of strains or types of probiotic, because it takes all kinds to fight the bad bacteria) which is why you want to take different types of probiotics available. Then you need to just eat the prebiotic foods fairly regularly, which are fermented foods. Some Asian people eat a tablespoon of Kim Chee every day. It is fermented cabbage (spicy). Some people drink buttermilk, kefir, on occasion (dairy and not the best) or sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, these are all fermented foods (alternating would be good). Yogurt is easily available and popular, but has only one strain generally of bacteria and also it is a dairy or soy product with hormones etc. If you can, ask your mother if when she was a kid, they ate some type of thing like that or if she remembers what her mother might have eaten that would act like a prebiotic food.
A fairly new product lately I have found in the local grocery is called "Good Belly" and it is fruit based but may be too sweet for some people.

Looking back a few generations we can see that the most recent generations have lost the eating habit link to these foods but every culture I have ever heard about eats or used to eat prebiotic and they are all much healthier than us on the American diet for doing so.

Also consider that we may not even really know all the strains, the body is complex, who knows, maybe the different strains combine (marry) and create other bonds or types of bacteria (mixed strain babies). Like a little micro world inside your intestines, keeping us healthy.

Chronic IBS is inflammation of the bowel, inflammation causes the cells to be irritated and can lead to many other things, eventually other diseases, like if you rubbed your elbow, over and over, the skin would get sore, then break and bleed, and eventually distorted if you kept rubbing even after it was starting to heal, it would form a scar...scars are a misarrangement of cells that interfere with the natural flow of energy and they are less flexible etc. It is best to address the issue for a healthy immune system down the road rather than just live with it.

There may be other things involved as well and good nutrition is a must also but without good bacteria, it may be difficult to win the battle. Good intestinal health is the basis to good health and immune. The intestines are our elimination system, without a good elimination system, everything gets backed up, stuck and misplace which can cause havoc to the body, like clogged pipes in a house, you don't want that stuff to overflow or back up!

I am fortunate and personally have not had issues with IBS but a few times a year, I take a round of Dr. Ohhira's probiotics professional formula (which I discovered some time ago) and have found it to be most effective for probiotic. Then I eat a little Kim Chee now and then when I have the urge. But also, I like to eat organic dark leafy green salads on a pretty regular basis, which is a good way to feed your body and your intestines!

Happy Eating...get healthy and STAY HEALTHY
pahner@healingx.org
www.healingx.org

Learn How to Stop Knee, Ankle, Back Pain

Naturally, without Surgery...just by changing the way you do something that you do every day, you can possibly eliminate your pain.

http://www.healingx.org/howtostopkneeanklebackpain.htm

Quick Hip Trick

Perhaps you are taking my "What’s in my Walk? Unlocking your pain…" (walking course) or have been to my "HowToStopKneeAnkleBackPain" webpage, either way...here is a quick trick to realign your hips and release your pain.

If you are able to ride a bike, you are able to take advantage of this trick. (however please read disclaimer below)

Remember when you were a kid and you would take off on your bike, without sitting on the seat, to get the bike going faster or create momentum to go up hill? Perhaps those with multiple speed bicyclists have never experienced this process but the old style, fat seat bicyclists know what I am talking about.

That is what you need to do, if you are riding a multiple speed bike, set the speed to a higher resistance so as not to hurt yourself by slipping.

Start out on your bike however you normally do, then when you have the chance to lift off the seat and pedal standing up (use caution and see disclaimer), instead of rocking your hips from side to side as some do in this position, keep your hips more stable/level and only use the muscle of your legs, be sure to have your feet pointing forward on the petals with your weight centered on the ball of your foot between your Great Toe/big toe and your 2nd toe (or the one next to the big toe).

This actually realigns the leg muscles. It incorporates a type of contract/relax technique that some massage therapist/physical therapist use to restructure muscle function.

Commonly the hips are out of alignment because of the leg muscles being unbalanced. The outside of the leg is hypertonic/too tight and the inner leg is hypotonic/weak, which can be from walking improperly, injury or other issues. Also if your stomach and back muscles are weak or imbalanced, this could also be a cause of hip misalignment.

Disclaimer: this is mainly for minor hip alignment and not recommended for anyone with injuries, knee, ankle, back issues, also if you have not ridden a bike for some time or are not comfortable, please, use your common sense, this may not be the method for you. At the very least, take your time and ease into it, start with a stationary bike in the gym, or don't stand up, just rely on your leg muscle, keeping your hips more stable or level and feet as described above. And most of all, consult your physician before any exercise. I highly suggest you read and follow the above walking course before you try this bicycle method. Also, if you do not understand the above directions, please do not try this method. (You would definitely need a bike that is correct for your size to avoid any injury)

Take it easy and have fun!
www.healingx.org
pahner@healingx.org

Plantar Fasciitis: What has Ice got to do with it?

I had a patient that was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis.

Her doctor had her wearing a restrictive device at night and told her to stay off her feet to recover, which of course for her, was impossible but actually, that is exactly what is needed to repair.

First, I will explain a little about Plantar Fasciitis, so you will understand why, and then
I will give you another option to consider that helped my patient recover...

Fasci"itis" is inflammed Fascia:

Fascia is the connective tissue that for illustration purposes, connects the bone to the tendon, to the muscle, to the skin.

Imagine fascia as the matrix of the body. I liken it to a sponge. When the fascia or the matrix "sponge" is dry, it is unflexible, in fact if you try to bend a dry sponge, it will crack and that is what is happening to your fascia, it is cracking or being injured and becoming inflammed, every time you walk. Why? It can be for several reason...

First, the bone in your foot could have had an external injury, or your fascia could be dry or compressed/restricted and deprived of body fluid to nourish it or keep it flexible (perhaps from improper walking or restricted movement) but more commonly your calf muscle could be tight and pulling on the tendon that connects the muscle to the fascial sheath around the bone.

Generally, I have found that people who love to walk, overdid it one day and now they have this issue.

A little background on bone: when bone is "pulled" as by the tendon pulling on the fascial sheath that covers the heel, or when rubbed together as in a 2 bones rubbing in joint, it actually begins to create more bone, usually this bone substance is not beautiful, it is a little disorganized and can be sharp or pointy depending on the pulling.

This pointy bone then irritates the sheath that encapsulates the heel bone and creates tearing which creates inflammation and it becomes a viscious cycle.

Considering that you now have this plantar fasciitis, (whether or not you are to the stage of having the bony build-up) and that most people are like my patient and cannot simply stay off of their feet, I will offer to you, what I offered to my patient, that eventually corrected her fasciitis:

Ice your calf muscle as often as possible.

When I say ice, this is the most beneficial process...
Ice your muscle until it is numb: first it will feel really cold, then it will burn and feel tingly or hurt/ache, after that stage, you will not feel it, that is numb. Now take the ice off, if you do not take the ice off that will create a loop of inflammation again, so pay attention, it may only take 5 or 10 minutes, but don't go by the time, go by the numbness that occurs after the burning/ache/tingly period.

Now allow the area to warm up, you could massage the calf a little to get the blood to flow in the area again, or wait about 15-20 min and do the icing again if you have time. The way I see it, if you can ice it once a day, that is better than nothing but ideally 3 times in a row, allowing it to warm up in-between is a good starter.

Now, what does that do?????? It releases any contraction in your calf muscle and puts less pulling on the tendon, which then puts less pulling on the sheath around the bone, which stops pulling on the bone and so the bone stops growing more pointing bone "spurs".

But what about the bone that is there??? Actually an age old recipe of rubbing a good castor oil on the area of the heel that is sore and keeping the area warm is what I have found to break up bony deposits. Don't ask me why this works but it seems to do the trick. But before you use castor oil, you might want to talk to your physician as it can also interfere with medication absorption on some level.

My patient, however only used the icing method and some nutritional information I gave her.

As for the dry fascia cause, consider rehydrating your body and rubbing the area around the fascia (not on top of any sore spot) to get blood flowing in the area.

When I say rehydrate, I mean getting some electrolytes or good purified water and an organic, food based mineral, but that is a whole other blog :)

Best of Luck!
www.healingx.org
pahner@healingx.org

Get in the Zone!

Do you feel out of whack? Nothing quite going your way? Keep running into the proverbial wall? Are you off your game?

You are not the only one.

I have been working with patients that are coming in with the same complaint.

I have another blog devoted to these types of things but thought I should tie it into this one since it seems to be a needed thing right now. (http://spiritualhealingblog.blogspot.com)

If you are an athlete, you know when you are "in the zone" and some of you know how to get there, others just never learned. If you are one of those that just can't get in or feel like something has gone horribly wrong lately. You might be kicked off the Universal "Axialtonal Lines".

How do you get connected again?

There are several ways, the easiest is to go to an Acupuncturist and have them do the Axialtonal Alignment treatment. Acupuncture is actually painless, even though they use the word needle, it is nothing like an injection needle that has a hole in the middle which punctures the skin, these needles are about the thickness of a hair and actually go between the skin cells and it is painless. Often patients do not even know if they have already been inserted, and will say "tell me when you start, o.k?" I have to laugh each time - Acupuncture is so misunderstood!

Another way is to have it done intuitively. I have been using this technique since I developed the protocol and have been getting great results and feedback. Needle free!

You can also connect via meditation and visualization, but you need more information to attain the connection.

There is an easy way to do this through imagination, by using different affirmations, which raise your vibration and seem to snap you back in.

Most importantly, once you are back in, how do you stay aligned. Simple. Remove all negativity from your thinking, talking and exposure to negativity.

Did you ever notice, you are clipping along, feeling great when someone comes at you with their negative attitude directed at you and suddenly, your world is upside down, nothing is right again.

They just kicked you off alignment.

Here is an emergency CPR for when this happens...say the word in your mind or aloud...

cancel, cancel, cancel or neutral, neutral, neutral until you cannot even remember what happened that caused you to feel bad. Now quickly redirect your thought to something constructive and positive, a project you love or person you like being around. You will be reconnected if you catch it right away. Otherwise, if you wait too long, you will need to redo your connection.

So stay positive and enjoy being "IN THE ZONE"

<span class="Apple-style-span" Why do I have to be the one driving the crappy car, struggling day to day?

Actually, perspective is everything. There is a saying...

"Change your mind to change your life"

Begin to change your perspective with one verse...

"Everyday, in every way, I am getting better and better."

First, write down how you see your life now, from your current perspective.

But, before you say the verse, try to FEEEEEL it, envision your ideal life. Be sure to include how you make other people feel good about themselves, you could include ideas like: I am healthy, wealthy and wise. My family is healthy and happy. Love is all around us. Imagine people smiling and laughing the belly laugh, they cannot stop because they are so happy and you are there, laughing also. Imagine children playing and giggling. See the world is getting better, everyone is helpful and friendly, the economy is skyrocketing, everyone is making money, etc.

Then say the above verse to yourself 20 times.

On a separate piece of paper, write the verse down and put it next to your bed and read the verse when you go to bed and/or when you wake up.

In a week, write your new perspective of your life, compare it to the one from a week ago. Report back with what has changed!

Stay positive!

pahner@healingx.org

Let's Talk About Health

Feel free to email me your health questions related to food, nutrition, energy healing, etc.
I'm here for you, just ask, or maybe I can direct you.

pahner@healingx.org

www.healingx.org

Body Electric: function and dysfunction

Dupuytren's, Tendonitis, Plantar Fasciitis and Electrolytes:

In Chinese medicine we see the body on some level as fluid and electricity.

Our bodies are made up up mostly fluid. Electrolytes are the conductors of the electricity that comes from the Sinoatrial Node (referred to as the pacemaker of the heart)

To create an illustration in your mind...think of a car battery...if the fluid is low, the battery heats up and burns out. The fluid and the minerals that make up the electrolytes are what conduct the electricity or the energy. When fluid is low, energy is low. Caffeine drinks are like battery acid, they burn up fast and leave you with less energy than before, because they burn up fluid along the way.

Our bodies need to be supplemented with fluid and electrolytes when we have been burning them or perspiring. Often when it is hot outside and you are in the sun, you do not tend to even feel yourself perspiring, but you actually are, it is just being evaporated off your skin just as fast. If you are in hot weather or working out, you are losing fluids and with them some electrolytes.

In Chinese Medicine, yin is a condensed fluid and it is believed to lubricate the joints and tendons. It is a thicker substance like the oil in a car engine that makes everything run smoothly.

Generally stiff or unflexible tendons are referred to as dry (meaning without yin or oil as lubrication) without the flexibility needed, tendons can pull on the sheath encasing the bones, and that pulling action tells the bone that it needs to create more bone...this can lead to spurs and unorganized bone structure causing things like plantar fasciatis where the bony spurs are irritating the fascia around the plantar bone of the heel and creating inflammation (thus the "itis" part of the work meaning inflammation)

Dupuytrens Contracture can also be considered dry tendons. Generally people with dry tendons in one area, begin to experience the same issue in other tendons as well.

So, what to do about it? Where do I get yin? How to start?

Check out these yin producing foods along with getting some high quality food-based minerals when needed (most over the counter minerals are not the best quality). Food source minerals (eating foods high in minerals like a variety of seeds and nuts or working with a phytonutrient smoothie diet for optimal health), of course, are the best and easiest for us to absorb. Note: Most spring water has minerals, but the molecules are generally too big for our bodies to use them and they can end up being deposited all over the body and clog things up, creating a bigger problem.

Get enough good water to go along with your good minerals for good electrical conductivity. Fluid converts to "yin". Without fluid, yin becomes depleted, so keep your fluid up and work with some yin producing foods to bump up your yin, limit your caffeine...then watch what happens to your tendons and also pay attention to your skin, you might notice it is more moist and supple as well.

Hint: A cup or 2 of hot water in the morning, flushes the overnight sludge that collects in the kidneys and the action of heating the water also makes the water molecules "thinner" so your body can absorb it more easily and rehydrate you. You want to get those small bubbles to form just before a big rolling boil, that is the key. And drink it when is it on the hotter side of warm before it converts back to the normal sized molecule (or gets "thicker" again).

That should get your body lubricated for healthier tendons and help reduce the inflammation

pahner@healingx.org
Patricia J Ahner, LAc
www.healingx.org
