It is a bath house built from wood with chimney. It is a closed room, which produces steam bath from heated stones and water. Benches are made of wood too. Heat temperatures are above 80 degrees Celsius or 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Bathers need to take off their clothes in order for the steam to penetrate the skin and body. Separate steam room for men and separate room for women. First-timers can initially stay in a sauna for 10 minutes and can work up their way to 20 minutes by a minimal increase in time. Steam baths have been said to have health benefits on our body’s blood circulation so it is very much safe to do. Since heat is produced, it promotes sweating that gets rid of other toxins in our body, toxins that are hard to reach, thus our body is cleansed. It is also a place for relaxation, rejuvenation, mind and spirit refreshing. Observing proper behavior is necessary in saunas just like being inside a church. Saunas are considered a sacred place for many because it is where you heal, cleanse and refresh the mind and spirit.

Technologies changed the way saunas help detoxify our body. One new way is through Infrared Sauna. Infrared is an invisible band of light coming from the sun. Infrared used in saunas are absolutely safe because it is just like staying out in the morning sun to get the nourishment we need. Like the warmth of the morning sun, infrared mimics the heat from the sun. Even our body can naturally produce Infrared heat.

Another new way is through Far Infrared Saunas. Far Infrared gently heats our body. Far Infrared though gentle, can penetrate the skin and over all distributes the radiant warmth the sun brings. Far Infrared is a narrow band of the sun’s energy that uses wavelengths of noticeable and non-visible light spectrum from sunlight that naturally heats the body. We do not need much heat because it can damage and burn the skin, thus Far Infrared heat is provided. Far Infrared Saunas are better to have than the traditional saunas. It doesn’t need to heat the air but directly warms the body. With Far Infrared saunas, your sauna sessions are more sanitized.

Health benefits from Infrared Saunas:
- Detoxifies our body
- Better blood circulation
- Helps in weight loss
- Aids in cardiovascular health
- Helps boost immune system
- Beautifies the skin
- Helps reduce stress
- Relaxing the mind

So stop thinking twice and get that healthy heat now!

Moon Walker Leaves

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
and no message could have been any clever
if you wanna make the world a better place
take a look at yourself and then make a change ...
-Man In The Mirror (Michael Joseph Jackson)

King of Pop Michael Jackson dies at 50. Paramedics reported that MJ died after suffering a cardiac arrest. - Yahoo! News.

Seems unreal, the moon walker is gone. I still remember playing my favorite MJ songs on my MP3.. He left us with songs that touched many people's lives and influenced many good artists. Some are trying to be like him, wanna be like him - but no matter what, Michael Jackson is always the King of Pop and no one can beat that. He was once a humanitarian. He donated millions to charity.

To those who keeps throwing bad words at MJ, please let us all be reminded that he is mortal and only human. Let's not be judgmental. Every one of us has sinned and for as long as we live, we are given the chance to make a change. As said in the bible, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone ..." from John 8:7. Well maybe he just suffered emotional torture when was a child that resulted his so-called "eccentric behavior" / attitudes for him to act differently. Instead, let us just look at what he had contributed to the music industry and a lot of people cherish the joy of the music he has shared with us. Just think about how he has thought of the people from Africa that suffers hunger and scarcity of water. As far as I know, MJ was the first pop artist to consider those poor people, specially kids in Africa where some of us enjoy our lives in the comfort of our homes. (if anyone wishes to correct me if MJ was not or was the first pop artist to think of the people in Africa, the deed of thinking about those kids, please feel free to do so, thanks!) Let us be thankful that with MJ around, a lot of artists are making their way to stardom because of MJ's influence and some of us enjoy their music a lot. With the changes MJ made to himself, let him be.. we have no control over the likes of a person, but in reality, why such a change when you've got an awesome voice and you've got the moves?.. but for me, all I can see is someone who brings joy to many.

I don't even know why despite the accusations, bad mouthing & name calling, I still embrace this great entertainer. He's touched my life and my heart for so many reasons, for so many times. I don't know why do I have this feeling that he has a powerful music - listening to his music makes me happy, groovy and sometimes emotional. Unlike any other artists on my MP3, when I hear their music, it's just like any other ordinary feeling.

Michael's music tells us to try changing ourselves first if we would want to change the world. He had thought of the world in his songs and through it, he wanted to help change the world; he wanted to be there for those children in Africa, he wanted to stop the war between nations and he thought about equality. Have we pondered about what's next for the world with all the torture it's suffering from humanity - water and air pollutions, chemicals threatening the environment, no more tree planting...

I hope all of us would not only sing MJ's songs but as we sing to it, let us be aware of what the message tells us...

In our darkest hour
In my deepest despair
Will you still care
Will you be there
In my trials
And my tribulations
Through our doubts
And frustrations

In my turbulence
Through my fear
And my confessions
In my anguish and my pain
Through my joy and my sorrow
In the promise
Of another tomorrow
I'll never let you part
For you're always in my heart
-- Will You Be There (Michael Jackson)

Awarded Online Free Ads

www.sulit.com.ph is the place where business people stay! I remember when I was a clerk at the Department of Foreign Affairs, when my classmate in college, Sienna, was the one who released Francis’ passport. I couldn’t remember where the hell I was that day when he arrived. When I entered the office, she said Francis was there. Sienna said he’s wearing men’s slip-ons, white polo (thin cloth) paired with white chinos - simple. I just couldn’t remember if he came early in the morning or he came after lunch time when there were not so many claiming applicants in the area that would form a crowd. Sienna said he truly looks good. All that’s left for me to look at was his 2x2 photo attached with his application form. I got quite sad because I wasn’t able to see him face to face and because I liked him ever since he made a remarkable and influential piece in the Philippine Music industry.

I am a fan, I like him just the way he is and he is one of my favorites. Not fanatic though, but I like his approach towards music and life. He is a fun-loving person, cheerful, good-natured, friendly, simple and good-looking. When I noticed his absence from Eat Bulaga, I was wondering where he is because he is one of the reasons why I patronize the network and the program. I feel happy when ever I see him even only on screen. He has that different vibrant aura, strong and I just like it. He never seemed to leave his childlike ways of enjoyment aside from being a “wild boy” as how his EB family would call him, but because he is fond of collecting game consoles. I’ve known this trait of his when Sony Playstations became such a knock for video game fanatics and when Playstations were featured by the press. This is also the time when I’m buying one for the family – but for me, my sister and our three cousins. I was kinda doing a sort of review about the stuff I’m buying. All I remember was that he was featured on one show where he was interviewed about his game consoles, the games he always likes to play, how many games he has and how would he rate the said popular game console. He is such a playful person which is a good attitude. These may be the reason for his features that he still looks young and will always look young.

I’ve had so many heartaches in life and Francis’ optimism is one of the good factors that give me reason to practice being cheerful. I am happy but I admit it is not pure happiness because I haven’t let go of those heartaches. I haven’t forgiven those who wronged me. I’ve been keeping stones that I know little by little would turn my heart into stone fully if I would not continue practicing those good examples I mentioned.

Francis is such a good example for me with the way he understood life. He sets a good example of happiness, optimism, enjoyment, strong personality, love, respect and a fighter. I wish to have these traits that would bring me to being optimistic and avoid negativity. That’s why I adore Francis for these traits and outlook in life. And thinking about his death is sorrowful but I would definitely take in my life the power of Francis’ happy, wild and free life he lived.

Yard Sale

I had my old and used stuff out for my yard sale. My older sister was the one who encouraged me to do this yard sale. I just started this yard sale stuff last two weeks every weekend - on Saturdays and Sundays.

Yesterday, my yard sale were only stuffed animals and a few old and used clothes. I went back to the house to have a quick refreshment and to check on my two sleeping little boys. When I went back to the gate where my yard sale is located, I was a bit shocked (just a bit) because I saw a lady looking happily at my stuff for sale. I look closer at her and noticed that she is "disturbed". I mean, she is one of the people loitering the streets with nowhere to go.

She is wearing a red baseball cap. Different pair of earrings, red extra size t-shirt, very dirty shorts and dirty finger nails down to her toes and rubber slippers. She gave a smile while holding an old Teletubbies talking stuffed toy - seems she liked it and wants it. I took the toy and gave her an old duck with a few tears but she refused to accept it and frowned. My heart pounded because she might hurt me or Ate Mae ( my lola's nice and trust worthy house helper) for not having the toy she want. I handed her the small white lion with a heart on it in exchange of the Teletubbies talking toy. I don't want to just give away the said talking toy because I am selling both toys for P100 but if only one toy, it costs P60. Besides, if the talking toy would go with her - oh, poor Tinky Winky... It is a bit expensive because the two teletubbies I have exchange dialogues when they are facing each other. Just press Tinky Winky's hand and he will start talking and Po will talk too.

I am not the type of person who would hit or shout at a mentally deranged human being. It's just not right and not fair. Just give them a hearty understanding, prayer and all will be fine. I am just afraid that if she gets angry and wild she might hurt the people in front of her. If she's gone wild and hurt people, we might get wounds from her long nails or she might bite. I'm just being careful against infections if ever.

I felt better when the dark rain clouds came quickly. She accepted the stuffed animal I gave and went away with a smile. Without a care in the world she is walking on. God knows what to do with people like her. I took my stuff and kept them and we ran back to the house.

Thank You Almighty God for loving me and my family. Please keep us safe from harm and danger specially my loving Lolas, Tito Roger, my Derryck and Dwyane and my Danilo. Please continue your flowing love and blessings upon us. I love You Dear God and Jesus Christ.

HERBAL ENEMY NO. 1

It’s not surprising how many people are using Mainstream Medicine since pharmacologists turned to Science for the development of medicines that could bring fast relief to common ailments such as colds, cough, flu & headaches.

With the help of chemicals and clinical studies of pharmacologists, Mainstream medicine was born. Artificial medicine showed a great response from the consumers after it had been commercially introduced to the public. And with the growth in the rate of its buyers, more pharmacologists developed and contributed more of these artificial medicines to some chronic ailments like heart disease, arthritis, hypertension, diabetes & more. The fact that mainstream medicine is making its scene, Herbal Medicine virtually fell on the pavement. It did not actually disappear, but unfortunately was foiled – all because of power and influence.

Herbal Treatment/Medication is used since different medicinal plants were discovered to help cure common ailments and long before mainstream medicine came into the scene and made its name. Herbal medications are proven to be safe and effective since it is the first to have clinical and laboratory studies, thus, it is all-natural that it has no side effects. Side effects are known as dizziness or headaches after taking a certain (chemical-based) drug. But unlike any herbal treatment or medication, they’re botanical or organic, like I said earlier, all-natural, chemical-free so absolutely no known side effects. Herbal medicines as well give way to our body’s natural healing process.

New Place

We have just moved in to our new place - June 13, 2008. As of the moment, I haven't asked for the transfer of my home phone connection as well as my DSL connection, I still just don't have time to run to the Telephone Company. I am just updating my blog right now here at my granny's and using my uncle's PC. We haven't even fixed the water filters!... and the air con unit most importantly because our bedroom is just so hot... and I wish by tomorrow it can be installed.

So to you, my "cousin"... I am very sorry for the inconvenience, for I won't be able to assist you for the moment.. but this won't take (that) long... heheheh... I'll have to set a few important things first...

Will You Be Mine? ...

My husband asked me if I want a new Nokia N80 because someone's offering him the mobile phone but it's P1,000 (or more) lesser than the price on the market or malls. I was even kinda snobbish about his to-be gift so he asked me to search for its specs if there will be a chance I'd be interested. So we searched the web together for this N80 mobile phone specs. Yeah, it's nice, nice. But I don't think I'll be loving this mobile phone. I said it would go with his standards than mine.

As of now, I'm currently enjoying my Nokia 6288 - white in color. I received it as a gift for my birthday last December 31, 2006. It's a slide phone. Themes and MP3 ring tunes are applicable. It has 2.0 mega pixel camera and 3G call features, radio, audio recorder/player, video recorder/player, IR, Bluetooth and the unused Push-To-Talk button (like 2-way radios). Right now it's loaded with funny pictures and crazy videos of my kids - those moments that you don't see everyday and will never see again when they already have a new best friend and a super hero lunch box.

But now I have a dream mobile phone. Upon browsing on the mobile phones, this one really caught my attention... as far as I know this was just out on the market last February 2008...
I like it. It is optimized for video and TV viewing, with stand at the back for hands-free watching, a 5 mega pixel camera, 3G, blue tooth, more pictures and videos (wow..), MP3 tones and true tones... Can't say anything else...
Just hoping it's gonna be mine...

Moving Out (II)

There are a lot of tasks to do every time we or someone moves in or out. This could be very tiring. Considering the tasks to be done, is already tiring. Finish all the laundry a day or two before your transfer - because you cannot do the laundry if you're already out of clothes to wear when you transferred. Separate your trash from your important stuff and items. Do not just label them as miscellaneous. So that you won't be bringing additional stuff which you will find out later it's just trash. When putting them in their boxes, have a pen and paper ready with you so you know what are the contents of that box and write on it where it's supposed to be, kitchen, bedroom or just in the living area.

When you move in, you have to put things in places. Fix the things or stuff for the dining area. When you get hungry putting your stuff in their places, where will you look for and take out the plates, drinking glasses and silver wares? So better to set them first. Next can be the bedroom fixing. So when you get tired arranging your stuff in order, you'll have a nice bed to rest your tired body in.

Then your living room, the couch, the TV, phone table. Have an inventory of your stuff, like how many boxes you will be bringing. You should bring with you your valuable items (cash, jewelries, mobile phones, check books, wallet, ATMs/CC, etc.). If you have a big bag then put them all there and carry it along the way.

Forgot anything?... Uhm, well.. I'll check back later.
Good luck!

Moving Out

Woke up at 5.30AM. We're about to move out of this old apartment in a day or two. Just can't wait. I didn't like this old apartment in the first place until this very last time. The floor was dyed cement finish. White-painted walls with CHOCOLATE BROWN doors! Since the place is old, the smell of migrating roaches is everywhere in the house! The side wall of the area at the back have big openings that BIG rodents use as passages. The corners have cracks or small longitude openings where roaches migrate. Remedy: we placed chicken wires and nets so that these filthy, big rodents can no longer go through the openings and there fore cannot enter our back door to distribute the diseases that they carry along with their urine and poop. We applied cement on the cracks to cover the migration area of the roaches, but I don't know where else they go in and out. I don't even know why there is still a stinking smell whenever we do the laundry. At the bathroom, you can also smell the unpleasant odor of the roaches. This is where my residential rent P8,000 goes...We discovered that the wall at the back of the toilet tank has a small opening, small enough for roaches to pass through. Even the pathway outside have dog poops scattered. Eeewww!!! I've even found a really big centipede here, on our room near where my kids play. It's wider than my thumb. The first one I saw was big too and black and it crossed through my toes, thankful it didn't bit me. My grandma said she was bitten once and then she had a terrible high fever. There are actually many centipedes in this house, they're just hiding, because some would just come out of a small opening in the bathroom. I would never want my kids to be bitten.

This black one with orange legs here is the first big centipede I've seen in that house. The one that crossed through my toes.

The next one here is bigger than the first centipede I saw. It's the one I found in our room. This one is bigger than my thumb.

The unit's floor area measures 96 square meters. Yes, yes ... the unit is quite big - for a small family; we're only four - my two sons, my husband and me. But I still don't like this unit though. I do not want to waste money for renovation, it ain't gonna be mine in the future, just like a rent-to-own unit; so why invest on its renovation? It ain't my task either. The ceiling's quite low, so the heat from the mid-day sun gives this place a very hot ambiance 'till night... and dehydrating heat!

Our room's floor is covered with big, whole rubber mats for the toddlers. Same on the left corner where the bed is placed. In order to prevent painful head bumps. Ever since we had kids, we decided not to use the bed frame because my kids would only get hurt from frequent falling because they keep on running and jumping non-stop. To avoid accidents, we just leave the bed on the floor. Since the room is extremely warm, we have to use air-con. But the room is really big, plus the warm temperature, the air-conditioning unit takes quite half an hour or even more to keep up with the thermostat to make it cool (damn, the bill!). Unlike from our previous apartment, the room is half the size of our room here, so the air-con unit doesn't take that long to make the room temperature cold.

Add to that the confusing water bill. It's just like having a swimming pool in my apartment! Before, we only have a monthly bill of P150 - P200 and when we used to have a maid, we have a water bill amounting to P300 - P350. Here, we were very confusingly charged a bill of P1,200 - P1,800 a month. If you would just review the bills given to us, you would notice the big difference from the previous high cubic meter used with a lower amount, and the other bill with the lower cubic meter used and higher charges. You can even notice the inconsistent meter reading from the given bills and obviously different water meter number! Last March we received a bill amounting to a surprising P300 pesos only! Geez ...

And, last but not the least, my noisy neighbor's kids! They're terribly making my earwax go out on their own. Our room is just right next to theirs. The front of their room, the area where they play noisily is just very near to our room; so whenever them kids would shout terribly loud, it's just like they're inside our room! They're just inconsiderate. You knew to yourselves you have the same size verandas and terraces and exactly next to that veranda is a room. The wall that ends that veranda is a room just like yours! A room where my kids sleep soundly and would cry so hard every time they would be awaken by their annoying noise. We have never done that ever since we lived on our previous unit and even in this house - to let my kids play outside noisily where there is a room just right next to us or if someone is sleeping or having a rest. If you have the GREY MATTER, you would think first, "oh, it's a room just like ours, maybe it's not right to let them play noisily ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ROOM IS NOTICEABLY QUIET so that means no one is playing nor watching TV which simply means someone might be sleeping". Even when the kids are inside the house, you would hear the very loud cry of these kids each and every hour of every day. Sometimes, it would even last for a couple of hours! Even the mufflers of their cheap scooters were facing our room's windows! So every time the owner would rev up this cheap scooter, the hazardous smoke from the mufflers would get inside our room! (He waited until he is told?! Geez, does he really have to be informed about that??! Common Sense went all out the muffler!!) It even has an alarm just like a car. (Like someone's gonna try to steal it by carrying his scooter over their fence...!)

Well anyway, I am excited about saying goodbye to this place. No more too noisy inconsiderate neighbors. (Hey I've got kids too but we never made noises like they do, those loud, endless, shout-like cries for a couple of hours that would disturb neighbors.) No more stinky vapors of old septic tanks, stench of roach and rodent odors. No more rude crews and cooks of the neighbor restaurant. No more dog poops scattered on the pathway.

Hope the new place has a pleasant ambiance and nice neighbors and nice environment. AND NO MORE LUPINs!!!

LUPIN FAILED

Saturday, 4.30AM; Awakened by my youngest son's loud cry, I got up to make his milk. Didn't bothered to turn on the lights because I left them on. Before entering back to our room, I looked at the window-door area (which I always do whenever I would pass by or enter our room). Shockingly noticed the door knob was unlocked and 2 glass window jalousies are missing but the chain lock of the door was still hooked in place.

I immediately entered to our room and asked my husband if he had removed the window jalousies because they weren't there but then he said NO, HE DID NOT. So I told him YES THEY ARE MISSING and if I'm not mistaken, some bastard burglar tried sneaking. So he got up and we came out to check. I noticed that our door knob was unlocked and unclosed tightly maybe half an inch. I told him that I left the lights on but my husband told me that he turned them off. Damn right, Lupin tried to sneak in to do his thing but unfortunately he failed. So maybe he accidentally turned on the lights while reaching on the upper portion of the door to unhook the chain.

We came out to the veranda and found the 2 missing jalousies on top of the bench press. The bench press was still in place but on a slanting position. Lupin slanted it so that he can move freely to work on unlocking our door. I have also noticed our gate was left opened. The window screens were damaged and that's where he took off the other jalousie aside from the one that's from the bottom part of the window. He used the long stemmed tuning fork we use to fix the coals whenever we would cook from the grill. He used it to distort the casings/holder of the jalousies and also to reach the upper portion to unhook the chain lock. He even damaged the corner of the door frame a bit. Thank God the burglar wasn't able to get in and take anything. I'm just wishing he won't try to come back or else he'll regret it.

I used to hang a door alarm and at the same time a door bell on our door knob, but when they ran out of batteries, I took it off the door knob and had forgotten about putting new batteries. It's just a small black and cream colored box, about 3x4 inches and 1 1/2 inch thick, with a rubber-like string for hanging on door knobs, and a 1x2 inch small window for the light - for the hearing impaired. When the door knob is touched (not fully held), or tapped, the alarm and blinking will start immediately. The user can modify the gadget whether for alarm or doorbell use. The sensitivity of the alarm depends on the decibel setting. I will try to put it back until we leave the place and on the new house we're moving in.

This isn't the first time I encountered burglars. We were fortunate enough to have a caring neighbor from the retail store near the main road. The store owner was able to watch over our house while we were sleeping one afternoon. He said he noticed someone jumped into our fence. He then went to the other exit road to surprise whoever it was and he saw two young men. He put them on hold to check what they were carrying with them. They took an old, not working VHS player. It was for disposal but a caring neighbor came to rescue the item. He was informed that I gave away recyclable trash to garbage kids and I admitted I did. But I told those kids that they can come back and I will give them more items ready for disposal. It is true that I had a bad feeling about the other kid because he just can't look at me straight in the eye. I knew that kid would tell his fellow burglar to come and check out on our house to see what they can get, and there, they failed to take an old VHS player. I bet the burglar who tried to sneak in is a fellow of the kid.

Two of our neighbors from our previous residence (which is just a few blocks away from here, our current residence) experienced cell phone theft. One late afternoon, I saw a burglar planning crime on the family next door, fortunately I came out and saw him, so he wasn't able to do his thing. When I saw him, he was like in a letter "S" position while peeping at the window. I showed up, he was shocked and stood up immediately when he saw me and walked out talking non-sense. The next day, my husband's slippers were gone! What's left there was a pair of cheap rubber slippers colored in yellow, orange and green. I think it's got disease written all over it. Maybe that thief liked my husband's slippers and they're actually kinda new and I bought them.

Good thing we're about to leave this place. I want a good, easy access for transportation or area like this but not accessible to burglars and thieves.

SUPER FOODS

SPIRULINA is a blue-green form of single cell algae that grows in warm, unpolluted alkaline fresh-water bodies. The word "Spirulina" is derived from the latin word "Helix", meaning "spiral". It denotes the image of the organism that forms its swirling, microscopic strands. It is a highly nutritious, microscopic freshwater plant. The algae are differently classified according to their colors which are Blue-Green, Green, Red and Brown. The blue-green Spirulina has both the presence of the Spirulina nowadays are ecologically and organically cultured in large clean ponds. Researches of Spirulina came up with the result that Spirulina has the highest level of all nutrients. It is naturally grown - meaning no chemical pesticides (or herbicides). Preservation without chemical based additives preserves its full nutritional value by just a few seconds of careful drying.

Spirulina is safely manufactured as food supplement. It is considered a Super Food because it has over a hundred nutrients more than any vegetable, herb or grain. Spirulina with the blue-green color contains both Chlorophyll (green) and Phycocyanin (blue) pigments on its cellular structure. Spirulina is surely hygienic because there are no harmful bacteria or organisms will survive to pollute the waters where Spirulina algae are grown due to its hot environment. In fact, spirulina is one of the cleanest, most naturally sterile foods found in nature. Spirulina's one big advantage to other nutritional plants is its high adaptation to heat, it has the ability to surely retain its nutritional value when exposed to high temperatures during processing and shelf storage while other plants gets easily deteriorated.

Spirulina is approximately 70 percent high in protein. They are biologically complete – meaning they provide all the eight essential Amino Acids in proper ratios. Unlike other plant foods, they are incomplete because they easily deteriorate in hot environments and that they lack one or more Amino Acids. Spirulina provides all the required amino acids that is five times easier to digest than any meat or soy proteins. Spirulina supplies ten of the twelve non-essential amino acids, but being non-essential doesn't mean that they are not really needed by the body, just because the body can synthesize itself if needed, provided that the right nutritional building blocks are present. Our body is very much dependent on nutrient intake for all of its functions.

It is said that proteins are the building blocks of life, there are still many trace minerals that can profoundly effect metabolism and health. Changed into natural organic forms by Spirulina, minerals are chelated with amino acids and therefore more easily absorbed and nourished by the body. Accumulation of inorganic minerals block the absorption of the organic forms, that leads to mineral deficiency diseases. This happens when people are ingesting large amounts of inorganic minerals that the body doesn't know what to do with it, thus it is not health beneficial.

More than anything, Spirulina is an essential supplement we should have everyday. It is a valuable food and pure source of nutrition. It is one of the great unharvested pastures on earth.

Special Herbs...

There are approximately 380,000 species of plants on earth. As a matter of fact, several hundred thousands have yet to be discovered. Of the known plants, there are about 260, 000 that are classified as higher plants, meaning they contain Chlorophyll. All the members of the higher plant group have the potential to offer health benefits. However, only 10 percent have actually been studied for their nutritive and therapeutic value.

When using potent herbs or to achieve a desired effect, herbalists will create a combination by mixing several herbs together according to a basic formula - Herbal Combination as it is called. The following are just a few to share with you readers.

ALOE VERA is native to Africa, but now grows to different parts of the world since its recent rediscovery and since the ancient times. It is a member of the Lily Family but its appearance resembles the Cactus. Many manufacturers have processed this plant to make Aloe Vera juice palatable to consumers, but doing so only reduced the plants original benefits.

Aloe Vera is a nutritional storehouse containing Vitamins B1, B2, B6, C, Niacinamide, Choline and 18 Amino Acids to add up to many nutritional substances. Aloe Vera is a herbal remedy mainly used for the skin, digestive system, reproductive system and detox. For the skin, it soothes the skin, eases pain and inflammation. Use the gel inside the plant and rubbing it on any cuts or wounds can prevent skin infection and helps speed up the healing process. It is even used by many cosmetic manufacturers because of its healing and moisturizing benefits.

CHLOROPHYLL is the green pigment in plants that harness the sun's energy from the process known as Photosynthesis. This Chlorophyll is to plants as blood is to humans, only that its central atom is magnesium, but not iron as in our blood. It gives the metabolic function such as respiration and growth. Chlorophyll has the power to regenerate our bodies at the molecular and cellular level. It helps increase the red blood cells thus increases oxygen utilization in our body.

MACA is a member of the Radish Family. It is needed by the Glandular System (glands) or may be used as Libido Enhancer. Maca may help enhance physical energy and endurance, promote mental clarity and concentration and boost activity capacity. It helps restore stamina and buffer the effects of stress. it has factors that may support the balance of female reproductive hormones such as Flavones and Flavonoids Glycosides. I have tried taking this one but as food supplement (Macandina) from the company I've worked before, it's really beneficial.

There are actually a lot of very good herbs and manufactured into food supplements, they're safe as they are all natural so they do not give you side effects. They help the body do its natural healing process because they do not contain harmful chemicals that may damage healthy cells.

Toddler Tortured

A few hours ago, I added a banner that links to The Hunger Site (a foundation for poor, hungry people, mostly children). It reminded me of the 4-year old boy, tortured by his own mother and 9-year old sister.

Toddlers are really a handful most of the time. It's their nature. They untiringly go up and down the stairs, climb on bookshelves, TV racks, cabinet/closets, plastic clothes drawers. Gets whatever that interests them. Running all around the four corners of the room. Turns on and off the fans & TV repetitively - everything that has switch buttons on it (and oftentimes, pulling electric plugs off a wall socket and plugging it back!). Just keep a watchful eye on them because they have inquisitive minds and they are exploring so let them be. But can a toddler actually commit a dreadful offense to suffer such punishment that leaves the toddler wounded, physically & mentally?

I was able to watch Imbestigador's last Saturday (May 31) episode of their rescue to a 4-year old tortured boy. Where a concerned neighbor reported to Imbestigador about the case of "Jepoy" (not his real name). The neighbor said that Jepoy's feet was securely tied to the wall (like a mongrel) of the house where he is kept within bounds, or like a prisoner. Not only that, Jepoy's body and face are full of scars from previous punishments and fresh, unclean and untreated wounds. He is not even clothed properly; he is wearing a very dirty sando and no underwear nor short pants. With quite long and dirty fingernails, he might have touched his wounds whenever they would itch since his wounds are not treated with antiseptics or anything and might as well be infected.

As what I've seen from the TV, the left side of his forehead has a bleeding wound, looks like crack on a bread. His arms and thighs have small wounds that I suspect, from a hard pinch. Yes indeed, his "nice" elder sister confessed that she pinches Jepoy real hard and hits him whenever she would caught Jepoy picking up leftover food or bits of food and eat it. "Kinukurot ko sya sa braso saka sa mukha pag nahuhuli/nakikita ko syang namumulot ng mga tirang pagkain". He might be starving and not fed enough so he picks up food bits or leftover foods.

This page requires a higher version browser
For the latest Philippine news stories and videos, visit GMANews.TV

Who would ever do this to a little boy? Like I said earlier, his mother and 9-year old elder sister. The little boy is punished, starving and with tied feet, while the great mother goes out to gamble and his sister dear is out playing on the street. His father was asked by the authorities but he just answered he didn't know that his son is being tortured by his "bitter-half". DSWD came with Imbestigador team to rescue the young boy and demanded to have a Medical Test/General Check-Up done to Jepoy. The medical results said it all. Jepoy is already in a severe malnutrition aside from the scars and wounds that the little boy is suffering.

I wish that not only his wounds be healed, but as well as this little boy's mental condition. I hope that authorities and assigned care takers of this kid would help him recover from this traumatic experience.

Thousands of couples are having difficulties in conceiving a child. Others took years to have one. This mother (Jepoy's mom) only takes a second to turn a child into a punching bag. If I'll be asked, what if they will be receiving punishment the same way they punished an innocent little boy? God is watching.

here are a few DOs and DON'Ts from an old research, it may not be that much, but i'll be adding more to this in the future. please try to follow the list and do not disregard for it may cause severe damages.

Some Vital Health Care Tips:

- answer the phone with your left ear.
- DO NOT DRINK COFFEE TWICE A DAY.
- do not take pills with cold water.
- DO NOT EAT HEAVY MEALS AFTER 5 P.M.
- reduce the amount of oily food you consume.
- DRINK MORE WATER IN THE MORNING, LESS IN THE EVENING.
- keep your distance from cellphone chargers.
- DO NOT USE HEADPHONES/EARPHONES TOO LONG.
- best sleeping time is from 10pm - 6am
- DO NOT LIE DOWN RIGHT AFTER TAKING MEDICATIONS BEFORE SLEEPING.
- when your cellphone's battery reaches down to the last grid/bar, the radiation present is 1000 times stronger so do not make or answer any calls.

share it, pass it on. MSG or MonoSodium Glutamate is very well known for its purpose as a flavor enhancer or food additive. It is addictive and has the effect that stimulates our brain cell activity, making your brain transmit the message that the food you’re eating is just delicious or tasty; hence, you’re going to buy some more. But it doesn’t make you any healthier. Food manufacturers choose substandard type of food items (of which has a lower price) to be processed and just use MSG as additives to give it a “consumer” taste. They do this so as not to affect the profits they make from consumers. Of course, people would choose and eat more of those “tastier” products than those that do not contain MSG. Yet, there are still a lot of people out there insisting that MSG use is safe. But I have serious sensitivity to this item. I know I’m not the only one who experienced negative responses with MSG.

Bryan, (not his real name) is fond of eating this instant stir-fried noodle. Every day he finishes 5 whole packs of this instant noodle as his snack. Bryan gained unusual extra pounds and his size really grew big for a 15-year old boy. His continuous consumption of this instant stir-fried noodle soon resulted to poor eyesight that he had to wear glasses. After a month more of great consumption of the instant noodle, he declared that he’s feeling weak (for a big body) and his mother noticed a yellowish color of his eyes and skin. They took Bryan to the doctor and they were informed that Bryan’s kidneys are malfunctioning. His parents were asked what Bryan has been eating and again the instant stir-fried noodle was mentioned. The doctor took the chance of informing the parents of how instant foods can terribly affect our body. He said that these are processed foods and processed foods undergo preservations. Preservatives give these packed/processed foods their shelf life. Aside from these, since they are processed, what do you think would give this addictive taste? MSG is an additive to these packed, manufactured, processed foods that deliver damages to the human cells particularly to the brain and vital organs if ingested exceedingly. You may have remedied his poor eyesight by giving him eyeglasses, but have you ever thought, our eyes are connected to the brain. The additive that resulted his poor eyesight damages the brain. Next, the yellowish color of his eyes and skin. The additives and chemicals already affected his kidney that resulted to the discoloration of the eyes and skin. I’m afraid I can no longer bring his kidney back to its normal function. There are two things I need you to do: firstly, you pray for his fast recovery, and last, find a kidney donor to replace his damaged kidney. That’s all, said the doctor. Thank God, Bryan survived the kidney transplant sponsored by his father.

Aireene never knew how to cook. What she can only give her kids are canned foods and instant noodle soup. If I have the chance to give her some of the food I cooked, that’s the only time her kids can eat right foods. One day someone from her “in-laws” came over to assist her with the meal for the kids. She told the representative to be the one in charge to cook for the day for she was feeling terribly dizzy. She was asked what she’s been eating, she said “the usual food we have, instant noodles and canned foods”. The representative told her that the culprit of her dizziness was the processed foods they’ve been eating. She advised to try learning how to cook right foods because it’s not only her who’ll get affected with the processed foods but as well as her kids.

When I was a kid, I was asked by my mom to buy her some MSG or Monosodium Glutamate. While walking from the store on my way back home, I opened the pack and started tasting it. It tasted good so I dipped my finger in and had some more. After maybe 2 or 3 dips and 25 steps away from our house, I immediately started to feel very dizzy/wobbly. I told my mom that I tasted this MSG and that it made me feel dizzy in an instant. Imagine, if it tasted good to me, I could’ve swallowed it all up and after a few seconds could’ve collapsed along the way. Whenever we would accidentally inhale the stench of chemicals such as gasoline, LPG gas from the stove, ink toners, paints, etc., sooner or later we’re suffering from a terrible headache or intense dizziness; because the chemical contents are hazardous. If this MSG thing has no chemicals or poison-like component that isn’t bad for our body, then why did I felt dizzy immediately after tasting it? Just like relishing any other sugar by finger dips would not make you feel dizzy. How many of it have we taken in our body so far and how much more are we going to have?

A doctor from the company I’ve worked before discussed that the chemicals and poison-like ingredients from the food you eat are accumulated in your intestines or absorbed by your blood, causing an abnormal blood flow that forms blood clots and further delivered to your kidneys, liver and heart, thus your vital organs will slowly deteriorate and trigger chronic diseases. He also said that food-containing MSG could terribly affect the brain functions. Like I said, many people are still unaware of the hazards of MSG and persistence with continuous use of it. People who know how bad MSG is, just don’t care not to touch the stuff! Is it because they have been paid large amounts just to deny the truth about this “killing me softly” stuff? Others would spread lies justifying that the use of this stuff is safe. Is it because they are part of the company who profits from the confused users?

As much as possible, please reduce your consumption of processed foods and/or manufactured foods that contain high amounts of preservatives and poison-like additives. Our kids and we are not to suffer the curse of different chronic ailments (obesity, palpitations, liver and kidney disorders, etc.). If unavoidable, to those of you who lack chance/time, make sure you buy organic food items, they’re available in the groceries (only that they are costly) and on the internet; generally speaking, please make sure that you are taking the right vitamins & minerals to replace your losses of nutrients. Make sure that you take all natural, herbal and have good quality food supplements.

What Goes In (part III)

Trans Fat is a type of fat formed when unsaturated (liquid) is made into solid fats, by Hydrogenation. Hydrogenation is the process known as the addition of hydrogen atoms. Just like what I’ve said earlier, it’s horrible because studies have shown that Trans Fat causes STROKE, CORONARY HEART DISEASE, OBESITY and Liver Dysfunction and other chronic ailments. Well, you just might be surprised if your favorite fast food contains more than 2 grams of trans fat even when we should not eat more than 2 grams of trans fat. Oh, your favorite food on those fast food restaurants you eat regularly contains more than 2 grams of this killer fat!

Check it out!

One of my favorite fast food yummies are fries, i looove fries! Another favorite yummy from the fast food. Onion Rings contain 4- 4.5 grams of killer trans fat.

Burgers, Quarter Pounders, Double Cheeseburgers....Yummm... Burgers contain 4-5 grams of trans fat. These foods get our bellies full... full of trans fat!

So will there be any chance that I'm going to see and take my kids to Ronald (McDonald's) again? It just breaks my heart to know that my favorite foods from the fast food restaurants contain trans fats and other bad cholesterol forming ingredients. According to the American Heart Association, some meat and dairy have enough naturally occurring trans fat, so consuming the manufactured trans fat from the food of these fame and fave fast foods won't be necessary.

Watch your meat consumption. Yes, meat is just tasty but when you eat too much meat, do not wait ‘til you can no longer taste anything due to ailments caused of too much eating meat!

Pigs and cattle eat unclean foods. The unclean foods that they eat go through their stomach and accumulate on its flesh and more likely to be infected by worms. The feeds fed to some cattle and pigs that give them energy, boost their growth and prevent them from being sick are chemical products and antibiotics.

Chickens are given injections of hormones; antibiotics and other chemically produced vitamins to prevent them from getting diseases and increase their egg production. On the other hand, chicken meat is better than pork or beef because it has lesser fat and its meat is white.

Beware of eating too much meat because if you convert to be a vegetarian for even after many years, the toxins left from the meat you have eaten still remains on your intestines. Only a thorough cleansing will do the detoxifying of your blood, digestive system and vital organs. When we eat beef and pork the most, all the chemicals fed or injected to them are getting inside our bodies too.

Not only the chemical-grown meat and bad cholesterol from meat are threats to our health but those ingredients included in our food. Preservatives from canned foods are also chemicals for its shelf life. Most seasonings, used for cooking and food manufacturing, to add some unique good taste contain MSG.

happiness

Life Could Be a Dream, (Sh-Boom) If I Could Take You Up In Paradise Up Above... Life Could Be a Dream, Sweetheart.... A few lines from the 50's song Sh-Boom by The Chords and one of the soundtracks for Disney's "Cars". This is one of the "happy songs" for me.

Sweetheart. I remember when my hubby and I were still in our office in Rufino, Ayala. That's where we met. I kinda hated him when I first met him. I was the Exec. Secretary and of course, secretaries have to be present at meetings. We were seated on a round conference table where I was asked to take down notes on what they're gonna be needing to be able to work on the project. And so the short activity went on and when I asked if there's anything else that I need to prepare, he annoyingly stated that "Ahm, maybe I'll tell it directly to Sir William". Hah! It annoyed me, really! I felt he treated me just like an "extra". So I said to my self "wait and see what I'm going to do with you - who do you think you are?" An hour later, I met this "annoying guy" along the receiving area and said with a grin, "Ma'm we're leaving, Thank You." and I answered back my 'maldific' way "Then Leave! Does it look like I have the EXIT door written on my forehead?! Do I look like that damn door to you?!"

A week went on, and I'm seeing this guy everyday and it's annoying. Calling everyday, time after time at the office and calls me "sweetheart, is Sir William there yet?". When he arrives, I hear that "word" again. My friend advised me to ignore him. One day, we were together on the dining table for lunch. Oh, I had to let my teeth sink into a scrumptious meal and my eyes to the annoying guy! An elder officer from the office was like an aunt to me. I was talking to her (in front of the guy) about my resignation. The guy just talked saying that "If you want to resign, don't leave anything else you have here". I just stood up and left the table.

I had my boss aware of my resignation, unfortunately, he did not allowed me to leave. So I still worked for them, and I didn't know what happened but the annoying guy became my friend. I found out, he's cool anyway. From everyday seeing each other and talking about our tasks, playing Text Twist blah, blah, blah. Little by little, I am talking to myself about this guy that we're starting to have common feelings and sweet treatment towards each other.

He started sharing his pains to me that even his mom doesn't know about and felt sorry about it. Then we started going out with our office mates, going home at 12:00 AM or 1:00 AM even when there's a lot of work tomorrow. Almost every night we go out with friends. And learned about each other's likes, etc.

I think I've spent quite enough time to learn about the guy. White rice is common in meals because it does not throw spices and other ingredients and makes very good filler, main source of energy but it is mostly empty calorie. There aren’t any real nutrients in rice. Rice is all starch, which turns into sugar in the body when digested, since most starchy foods are rapidly broken down into sugar. Carbs give us energy, and sometimes raise our blood sugar too much. Additionally, when some cooked starches, such as potatoes and rice, are cooked and cooled, a small percentage of the starch takes longer to digest. Some starches aren’t digested in the small intestine at all, but they go to the colon and broke down, where they may play a vital role in the health of the colon as well as the rest of the body. Some of the fibers and starches, which ferment in the colon, in other words, extra digested by bacterium there, (generate an essential type of fat useful for the body) which are difficult for the body to get hold of in any other way.

It is better to eat other wild grains and Brown Rice. Brown rice is really white rice with the bran left on (only the husk is removed). This means that more of the nutrients are preserved. The flavor, however, is slightly sharp and similar to wild rice. Some brown rice do have other layers removed, but have not been "polished" - polishing makes the rice white. Brown rice is a good source of manganese, and the minerals selenium and magnesium.

One processed food that seems to be digested more slowly is pasta. But it is better if we will eat those made from herb or specifically Spinach Pasta (green in color). These veggie-made pastas are a very good source of beta-carotene and lutein, two important cancer-fighting anti-oxidants. This leafy green vegetable is also loaded with folic acid, vitamin K, magnesium and manganese. Remember to cook it al-dente because it affects how glycemic your pasta can be.

When eating bread, prefer to buy wheat bread or the multi-grain bread. These have lots of fibers, which help clean the digestive system and regulate blood sugar. Eating foods that contain high amounts of fiber helps us let go some of those toxins accumulated in our intestines.

Maybe a lot of you have heard about trans-fat. Oh, that's just one of those horrible ingredients on your food, (sometimes on breads) and horrible things it can cause to your body!

What Goes In...

A lot of people always think... "as long as I look and feel healthy, I am healthy." Well, better think again. You may look and feel healthy but have you tried observing yourself - on what you eat - what's in it? How about your daily dose of the right vitamins and minerals - are they really making you or they go with your urine, flushed into the toilet? Would you be happy if one day you wake up and alarming you that your days are counted?

Living way back from the past, everything is so simple. There were not so many pollutions and chemicals in those days. What causes these never-ending increases of deadly diseases that is inflicting such havoc on the body today? Because our body is commonly said the Temple of God - it is a gift from God, so why not take good care of it and make it valuable more than your top of the line gadgets.

Here are a few facts that I wish sould help you in some ways and start turning on a few changes.

FOOD.
Our food gives us the energy we need for the day. It is also the source of numerous vitamins and minerals we need to stay healthy and might as well fill up in those deficiencies. But little do we know that some of them trigger many illnesses, diseases, deficiencies, behavioral and attitude disorders, and a lot more. But we have to really be careful on what are the contents and ingredients of our food, because not everything that gives us energy - makes us healthy.

When I was pregnant with my first son, an old cheerful man from the park asked me about my pregnancy. He asked if I eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, of course, I do, they're my favorite. He advised me to eat fruits and veggies that have a few traces of fruit and veggie worms. (You know, the caterpillar-like looking little guy that chomps on your fruits and leafy veggies.) Why? Simply because a fruit or veggie eaten by a worm doen't contain any harmful chemicals from the pesticides sprayed on them by the farmers. the worm of course won't eat the fruit or veggie if it has chemicals in it. A clean looking, no trace of worm, tomato , bought from the market two months ago still looks fresh and so red. No fruit or veggie would last that long on the fridge even when placed on the freezer unless it has a chemical or pesticide to keep it fresh looking. I wonder, some of the fruits and veggies on the baskets of the markets and groceries, how long have they been there.

Has someone from the nutrition group enlightened you on how to eat fruits? Yes, how. Do you eat them, as how it's usually taken, after your meals just like a dessert? Or you eat them with your meal? I received an email containing this presentation on how to eat fruits. many of us have heard people complaining that "every time I eat watermelons I burp" or "when I eat bananas, I feel like running to the toilet", etc., These would not occur if only you had eaten fruits on an empty stomach. Fruits are mixed with the other putrefying food that produces gas and hence bloat. Fruits should be taken on an empty stomach. if we eat fruits that way it will serve a major role to detoxify our system supplying with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities. Let's say, first, you eat two slices of bread and after, a slice of fruit. As fruit digests quickly & ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but the breadm which takes longer to digest, blocks its passages. It is incorrectly presumed that some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic and will enhance acidity in the stomach. Researches however show that all fruits become alkaline in our body. Don't eat cooked or preserved fruits because you don't get nutrients at all. You get to taste along with the sugars on it. Cooking, heating or preserving fruit juices destroys and takes away the vitamins and nutrients.

Fiber is good for our digestive system. So gobble the pulp or the whole fruit better than just gulping the juice. When you need to drink fruit juice, drink only fresh juice; NOT those in cans, boxes or powdered. Don't drink juice that has been heated up. Drink fruit juice, by mouthful but slowly, 'coz we must let it be mixed with our saliva, for our saliva has enzymes that help break down some of the starch of the food and helps in fat digestion.

Cleanse and detoxify you body on a fruit fasting week. A fruit salad without the condensed milk and cream would be great. Cheers!
