Responsibilities:
  • Manages the hazardous waste program including but not limited to hazardous waste determinations, shipment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste to disposal sites, reviews internal manifests (hazardous/non-hazardous waste collection and disposal form) for assignment to proper disposition.
  • Responsible for identifying and profiling waste streams. Maintain updates of the waste profiles.
  • Provide direction for required sampling of hazardous materials to meet profile and Honeywell requirements. Determine the various laboratory tests necessary to provide accurate waste determinations.
  • Establishes and administers training program for onsite Honeywell generators of hazardous waste.
  • Maintain and update as needed the site SPCC plan and the site RCRA Contingency Plan.
  • Complete the annual FAR report, annual waste registration fee, quarterly hazardous waste tax fees, Tier II.
  • Manage the site Universal Waste program.
  • Manage the site used Waste Oil program.
  • Provide environmental expertise with regard to equipment moves, demolition activities and building refurbishment.
  • Provide HSE support to the plant and assigned Center of Excellence.
  • Manage safety programs as assigned.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have a combination of the following qualifications, skills and experience:andnbsp;

-Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Health, Safety, Environmental, Business, Engineering or related field.
-4 + years HSandamp;E leadership experience in a plant environment preferred.
-Strong record of safety performance improvement results.
-A good understanding of business operations (business acumen) including project management skills.
-Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
-Ability to identify potential risks and corrective actions using six sigma approaches.
-Strong bias for action and ability to energize others to work toward the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
-Must have exceptional skills in building interpersonal relationships, including high degree of tact, diplomacy and ability to influence.
-Must be thoroughly conversant with applicable HSandamp;E regulations and company policies.
