People who smoke often catch a lot of flack. They have people complaining about how the cigarettes smell and the fact that there is so much smoke. All of those problems are solved with the invention of the electronic cigarette.
Electronic cigarettes are a battery powered alternative to the traditional cigarette. They give the smoker an option to smoke without causing the air around them to fill with dangerous carbon monoxide laced smoke. They can save you money and most of all they can help your overall health.
How Does an Electronic Cigarette Work?
An electronic cigarette contains a barrel, a battery, and small nicotine cartridges that can be inserted into the barrel. The entire unit contains a heating element that enables the nicotine cartridge to function.
To use the cigarette all a smoker has to do is turn it on and smoke as they would a normal one. As they draw on the ...

The statistics on diabetes are frightening. Every year somewhere around a million Americans are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Although it can be fatal, more often it isn’t, but can have a serious impact on the lives of sufferers.
Scientists are worried about the rate of diabetes in our society. There are also enormous costs imposed on sufferers as well as the impact on their families and on the health system. So what can be done to reduce the impact of this explosion on diabetes rates?
Certainly there are a range of lifestyle factors which can help with the reduction in diabetes, such as dietary changes, levels of exercise and losing weight. However I normally analyze the benefits of Omega 3 fats, so today I want to look at Omega 3 and diabetes.
There is now clear evidence of a link between fish oil and diabetes showing that taking fish oil supplements ...

Once someone decides that it’s time he or she quit smoking, it is best to begin sooner rather than later. However, how do you stop smoking, when you have been smoking for a number of years? Smoking is an extremely difficult addiction to break because tobacco contains the compound called nicotine which is addictive to both the mind and body.
Recent studies have shown that each time you smoke a cigarette, it costs you around five to twenty minutes of your life. Apart from weakening the body, smoking leaves a person with halitosis, yellow teeth, dry skin, lower bone density, fertility problems that will inevitably affect the sexual health of both men and women and a higher risk of being infected with deadly diseases such as lung cancer. Smoking is costly and can reduce one’s life by around 10 years or even more.
Ways to stop smoking can be found ...

Asthma is a long-term, sometimes life-long illness, where the symptoms include wheezing, coughing, and difficulty in breathing. Asthma due to the narrowing of the bronchi is called bronchial asthma so as to distinguish it from cardiac asthma which is due to fluid accumulation and is more likely a symptom of an underlying heart disease. Bronchodilators are designed to deal with this bronchial constriction.
Asthma has recently been given attention due to its increase in prevalence. Research says it affects almost one out of five urban children. Some reports say that children outgrew their asthma when they reached a certain age. There is a possibility of recurrence, however, when they reach the age bracket of 30 to 50. Recurrence and first time occurrences of asthma in adults can be attributed to the toxicity of the environment or the work place.
A non-asthmatic naturally does not carry inhalers with them. They dont really need ...

Everywhere you look, you’ll see the signs of an obesity epidemic in the United States. Adults struggling with their weight, levering themselves into and out of cars. Many so morbidly obese that they’ll circle a parking lot four or five times before parking rather than be forced to walk an extra hundred feet.
In all honesty, we can not totally place the blame for this on the individuals themselves. Several studies have shown that for a number of people, their chemical and genetic makeup aide in their body’s ability to process certain fats. Sure being 100 plus pounds over weight might have been good in the Ice Age but today this is simply not the case.
We must not allow our children to become victims of an over active appetite. If you pay close attention to the dietary counselors, you’ll discover that a slightly overweight child soon becomes ...
