People who are depressed find it difficult to function on a daily basis; they have feelings of worthlessness, are often lacking motivation and are prone to insomnia.</p>
<p>The benefits of medication and therapy are well known, but there’s another important area to consider – your diet.</p>
<h2>Omega-3 Fats</h2>
<p>These good fats are needed to build the brain’s neural connections as well as the receptor sites for neurotransmitters such as serotonin. Research has shown people with depression appear to have lower levels of omega-3, in particular the EPA variety, and supplements can improve symptoms significantly.</p>
<p><strong>Eat more:</strong> Oily fish such as trout, salmon, mackerel and sardines. Flaxseeds, chia seeds and walnuts are also good sources.</p>
<h2>B Vitamins</h2>
<p>B vitamins are important for nervous system function and the production of energy from food and are considered “anti-stress” nutrients, helping to relieve anxiety and treat depression. Niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6) and folic acid (B9) all work with the amino acid tryptophan to produce serotonin, the “feel-good” chemical.</p>
<p><strong>Eat more:</strong> Legumes, wholegrain, nuts, seeds, green leafy vegies, eggs, chicken, red meat and milk.</p>
<p><strong>Eat less:</strong> Refined grains and processed foods.</p>
<h2>Blood Sugar</h2>
<p>Keep blood-sugar levels balanced. If they fluctuate during the day, so will your mood and this can be a contributing factor in people with depression. A diet high in sugary, white, processed carbohydrate foods will cause sudden peaks and troughs in the amount of glucose in your blood, which can result in irritability, fluctuating mood and anxiety.</p>
<p><strong>Eat more:</strong> Wholegrain, fresh fruits, vegies and legumes. Having smaller meals more regularly and including protein-rich foods also helps to stabilize blood-sugar levels and curb sugar cravings. Try yoghurt, nuts, seeds, eggs, fish, chicken and legumes.</p>
<p><strong>Eat less:</strong> Processed or sugary foods and cut down on caffeine and alcohol.</p>
<h2>Tryptophan</h2>
<p>Serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for making us feel content, is manufactured in the body using the amino acid tryptophan, which must be supplied through the diet. Tryptophan is also needed to produce melatonin, which is vital for getting enough sleep. Low serotonin levels are linked to depression, anxiety, insomnia and fatigue. In clinical trials, tryptophan augmentation has been shown to diminish depression.</p>
<p><strong>Eat more:</strong> Lean chicken, turkey, beef, brown rice, fish, milk, eggs, cheese, nuts, bananas, peas, pumpkin, potato, corn and spinach.</p>

<p>But having started to ingest colloidal silver on a regular basis recently I also became aware of its possible use to remove warts. So for a number of days &#8211; can&#8217;t remember how many, but it wasn&#8217;t too long &#8211; I poured colloidal silver onto a bandaid and then wrapped the soggy bandaid around my wart &#8211; left it there for the day. The following day I repeated the process and so-on.</p>
<p>What happened?</p>
<p>The wart has disappeared.</p>
<p>So let&#8217;s take a closer look at colloidal silver&#8230;</p>
<p>Colloidal silver appears to be a powerful natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. Acting as a catalyst, it reportedly disables the enzyme that one-celled bacteria, viruses and fungi need for their oxygen metabolism. They suffocate without corresponding harm occurring to human enzymes or parts of the human body chemistry. The it is the destruction of disease- causing organisms in the body and in the food. Colloidal silver was in common use until 1938. Many remember their grandparents putting silver dollars in milk to prolong its freshness at room temperature.</p>
<h2><strong>Early Research</strong></h2>
<p>At the turn of the century, scientists had discovered that the body&#8217;s most important fluids are colloidal in nature; suspended ultra- fine particles. Blood, for example, carries nutrition and oxygen to the body cells. This led to studies with colloidal silver. <h2><strong>Contemporary Studies</strong></h2>
<p>While studying regeneration of limbs, spinal cords and or~ in the late 1970s, Robert 0. Becker, M.D., author of The Body Electric, discovered that silver ions promote bone growth and kill surrounding bacteria. The March 1978 issue of Science Digest; in an article, &#8220;Our Mightiest Germ Fighter,&#8221; reported: &#8220;Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of modem medicine. An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650. Resistant strains fail to develop. Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic. &#8220;The article ended with a quote by Dr. Harry Margraf, a biochemist and pioneering silver researcher who worked with the late Carl Moyer, M.D., chairman of Washington University&#8217;s Department of Surgery in the 1970s: &#8220;Silver is the best all-around germ fighter we have.&#8221;</p>
<h2><strong>How It Works</strong></h2>
<p>The presence of colloidal silver near a virus fungus, bacterium or any other single celled pathogen disables its oxygen metabolism enzyme its chemical lung, so to say. Within a few minutes, the pathogen suffocates and dies, and is cleared out of the body by the immune, lymphatic and elimination systems. Unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics which destroy beneficial enzymes, colloidal silver leaves thew tissue-cell enzymes intact, as they are radically different from the enzymes of primitive single-celled life. <p>A woman who made medical history by restoring my sight with an organic foods diet and lifestyle, despite the medical world’s pessimism that I’d ever see again, I’ve learned a few things about happiness, human behavior and health. Changing bad habits for the better needs to be done gradually, not whole hog in one minute. Your initial resolve to be and to do better can burn out with the BIG effort it takes to change the way you live. Here’s a case in point for doing things the right way:</p>
<p>A friend of mine was suffering from obesity, constipation and increasingly drab-looking skin.  She’s a medical professional, so trying to teach her something was not realistic. She did not believe she had the strength of character to remain on a diet. I agreed. But I knew how to get past the problem. I E-mailed her <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBnniua6-oM" target="_blank">an eye-opening video about popular packaged foods that ruin health</a>. While sitting in her kitchen one day, we chatted about the video, and then opened her cupboards together. She grabbed a trash can and in went the soft-drink bottles, fructose-heavy packaged snacks and cereals plus lots and lots of white sugar, pasta and other junk “food.” Tired and disgusted, she sank into a chair and asked me, “So now what will I eat?”</p>
<p>I prepared some tea packets I’d brought for the occasion, and served the steaming cups with organic honey. She sipped, intrigued by the flavor. “What is this?” she asked. “Milk thistle and dandelion root tea. I drink it daily. Not bad when I want to sit down, gather my thoughts and relax,” I responded. “I’ll leave some packages in your kitchen so you can enjoy it whenever you want. And remember to eat the home grown sprouts I brought for you. Both things can clean out your clogged liver.”</p>
<p>Her hubby came home, bearing pizzas for dinner. I left for better fare at my high-nutrition organic kitchen. A few weeks later, that friend called to tell me, “You’re not gonna believe this! I’ve been drinking that tea you left for me, and munching fruit instead of candy when I’m low on energy. I’m still doing the donuts and stuff, but I lost a lotta tummy! Your tea is cleaning out my liver. It’s not so swollen anymore.”</p>
<p>She was right. The teas had cleansed her liver somewhat. She kept drinking them though she snacked on forbidden foods in between sprout-fests and swallowing lots more water than she used to. <p>How’d I know how to handle the situation? By having lived it. I used to joke that a candy bar in each hand qualified as a balanced meal. But in 2003, a benign brain tumor crushed my optic nerves and all the others, leaving me blind and close to death. Life-saving 2005 surgery removed the thing, but nobody on my medical team knew how to restore the healthy shape and function to those damaged nerves. I had one option left: going organic to rid my body of toxins, to strengthen my cells, and to give me a chance at improved health. I eased myself into the new discipline week by week, experimenting with foods I’d never eaten before; learning to grow my own sprouts and to drink more and more pure, fresh water over time. It&#8217;s not as easy as you think. It&#8217;s important to know how and when to eat.</p>
<p>What is the correct way of eating fruits?</p>
<p>Fruits should be eaten on an empty stomach.</p>
<p>If you do this it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.</p>
<p>In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.</p>
<h2><strong>Why We Should Eat Fruits On An Empty Stomach</strong></h2>
<p>So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You may have heard people complaining that every time they eat watermelon they burp, or when they eat durian, with its hard, prickly rind and soft pulp, their stomach bloats, or when they eat a banana they feel like running to the toilet.</p>
<p>This will in fact not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying ‘other food’ and produce gas. That’s when and how bloating begins.</p>
<p>Greying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyeballs will NOT happen if you eat fruits on an empty stomach.</p>
<p>There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.</p>
<p>When you need to drink fruit juice &#8211; drink only fresh fruit juice, not from the cans. Don&#8217;t even drink juice that has been heated up. Don&#8217;t eat cooked fruits because you don&#8217;t get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.</p>
<p>By eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.</p>
<p>You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!</p>
<h2><strong>So Let’s Take A Look At Some Fruits</strong></h2>
<p><strong>KIWI:</strong> Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E &amp; fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.</p>
<p><strong>APPLE:</strong> An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants &amp; flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack &amp; stroke.</p>
<p><strong>STRAWBERRY:</strong> This is a protective fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits &amp; protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.</p>
<p><strong>ORANGE:</strong> By eating 2-4 oranges a day it may well help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent &amp; dissolve kidney stones as well as lessen the risk of colon cancer.</p>
<p><strong>WATERMELON:</strong> Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C &amp; Potassium.</p>
<p><strong>GUAVA &amp; PAPAYA:</strong> These fruits receive top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.</p>
<p>So eat away this healthy produce, yet time your eating correctly so that you can gain the greatest benefit from eating fruit.</p>

Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died.</p>
<p>The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then).</p>
<p>The doctor couldn&#8217;t believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this he found the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.</p>
<h2>The Hairdresser &amp; The Onion</h2>
<p>A hairdresser said that several years ago many of her employees were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick.</p>
<p>There is also an account where someone contracted pneumonia, and needless to say was very ill. They cut both ends off an onion, put it into an empty jar and placed the jar next to the sick patient at night. The onion turned black by the morning from the germs, and they began to feel better.</p>
<p>I’ve also read that onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.</p>
<p>Lots of times when we have stomach problems we don&#8217;t know what to blame.  Maybe it&#8217;s the onions that are to blame. Onions absorb bacteria and it is for this reason that they are so good at preventing us from getting colds and flus, and is the very reason we shouldn&#8217;t eat an onion that has been sitting for a time after it has been cut open.</p>
<h2>Leftover Onions Are Poisonous</h2>
<p>A group of individuals toured a company that makes mayonnaise. Questions about food poisoning came up, and the above information was shared with the company’s chemist. The guy who gave them the tour was a chemistry expert and is involved in developing most of the sauce formula.</p>
<p>During the tour someone asked if we really needed to worry about mayonnaise. People are always worried that mayonnaise will spoil.</p>
<p>The expert’s answer will surprise you. He said that all commercially made Mayo is completely safe.  It doesn&#8217;t even have to be refrigerated. No harm in refrigerating it, but it&#8217;s not really necessary. He explained that the pH in mayonnaise is set at a point that bacteria could not survive in that environment.</p>
<p>He then talked about the quaint essential picnic, with the bowl of potato salad sitting on the table and how everyone blames the mayonnaise when someone gets sick. He explained that when food poisoning is reported, the first thing the officials look for is when the &#8216;victim&#8217; last ate onions and where those onions came from (in the potato salad?). He added that it&#8217;s not the mayonnaise (as long as it&#8217;s not homemade Mayo) that spoils in the outdoors. It&#8217;s probably the onions, and if not the onions, it&#8217;s the potatoes. He explained that onions are a huge magnet for bacteria, especially uncooked onions.</p>
<p>You should never plan to keep a portion of a sliced onion. He said that it&#8217;s not even safe if you put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in your refrigerator. It&#8217;s already contaminated enough just by being cut open and out for a bit, that it can be a danger to you (and doubly watch out for those onions you put in your hotdogs at the baseball park!)  He said that if you take the leftover onion and cook it like crazy you&#8217;ll probably be okay, but if you slice that leftover onion and put on your sandwich, you&#8217;re asking for trouble.  Both the onions and the moist potato in a potato salad will attract and grow bacteria faster than any commercial mayonnaise will even begin to break down.</p>
<p>Also, dogs should never eat onions. Their stomachs cannot metabolize onions. Please remember it is dangerous to cut an onion and try to use it to cook the next day, because it becomes highly poisonous for even a single night and creates toxic bacteria that may cause adverse stomach infections because of excess bile secretions and even food poisoning.</p>
