For those of us who make jokes about atheists and agnostics and thereby hinder the work of Christ, Lord, have mercy.

For those of us that have turned Jesus into a cosmic ATM that will dispense the American dream if we only have enough faith. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us, both on the left and the right who take bible verses out of context to have Jesus join our political team. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who think a women’s right of choice exceeds the right of a baby human to take its first breath. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who think racism is a thing of the past. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who think that caring for the poor and the immigrant is optional, Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who think the church should care for the poor, but don’t spend 5 minutes or 5 cents doing anything about it. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who think our brand of theology has it all figured out. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us that spend more time criticizing our leaders in public than we do praying for him in private. Lord, Have mercy.

For those who get angrier about the sins of others than they spend weeping over their own. Lord, Have mercy

For those of us who look at other humans only as a tool to gratify our lusts. Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who call ourselves Christian but don’t walk around stunned at your mercy to us. Lord, Have mercy.

For those of us that say we believe in the sanctity of life but don’t lay down our life for others. Lord, have mercy.

For those that think this list is about the “other guy”, Lord, have mercy.
