My wife called, 'How long will you be with that newspaper? Will you come here and make your darling daughter eat her food?' I tossed the paper away and rushed to the scene. My only daughter Marichuy looked frightened.
Tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of her was a bowl filled to its brim with Curd Rice. Marichuy is a nice child, quite intelligent for her age.She has just turned eight. She particularly detested Curd Rice. My
mother and my wife are orthodox, and believe firmly in the 'cooling effects' of Curd Rice!
I cleared my throat, and picked up the bowl. 'Marichuy, darling,why don't you take a few mouthful of this Curd Rice?Just for Dad's sake, dear.
Marichuy softened a bit, and wiped her tears with the back of her hands. 'OK, Dad. I will eat – not just a few
mouthfuls, but the whole lot of this. But, you should…' marichuy hesitated. 'Dad, if I eat this entirecurd Rice, will you give me whatever I ask for?'………..Oh sure, darling'….'Prom ise?'……………..
'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my daughter with mine, and clinch the deal.
'Ask Mom also to give a similar promise', my daughter insisted.
My wife put her hand on marichuy's, muttering 'Promise'.
Now I became a bit anxious. 'marichuy dear, you shouldn't insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items.Dad does not have that kind of money right now. OK?'
'No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive'.Slow ly and painfully, she finished eating the whole quantity.
I was silently angry with my wife and my mother for forcing my child eat something that she detested.
After the ordeal was through, marichuy came to me with her eyes wide with expectation.All our attention was on her………….'Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!' was her demand.
'Atrocious!' shouted my wife, 'A girl child having her head shaved off? Impossible!' 'Never in our family!' my mother rasp. 'She has been watching too much of television. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with these TV programs!'
marichuy darling, why don't you ask for something else? We will be sad seeing you with a clean-shaven head.'
'No, Dad. I do not want anything else', marichuy said with finality.
'Please, marichuy, why don't you try to understand our feelings?' I tried to plead with her.
'Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice'. She was in tears. 'And you promised to grant me whatever I ask for.Now, you are going back on your words. Was it not you who told me the story of King Harishchandra,a nd its moral that we should honor our promises no matter what?'
It was time for me to call the shots. 'Our promise must be kept.'
'Are you out your mind?' chorused my mother and wife.
'No. If we go back on our promises, she will never learn to honor her own. Marichuy, your wish will be fulfilled.'
With her head clean-shaven, MARICHUY had a round-face, and her eyes looked big and beautiful.
On Monday morning, I dropped her ather school. It was a sight to watch my hairless marichuy walking towards her classroom.She turned around and waved. I waved back with a smile.
Just then, a boy alighted from a car, and shouted, 'marichuy, please wait for me!'
What struck me was the hairless head of that boy. 'May be, that is the in-stuff', I thought.
'Sir, your daughter is great indeed!' Without introducing herself, a lady got out of the car, and continued,' That boy who is walking along with your daughter is my son Harish.He is suffering from… … leukemia.' She paused to muffle her sobs. Harish could not attend the school for the whole of the last month.He lost all his hair due to the side effects of the chemotherapy. He refused to come back to school fearing the unintentional but cruel teasing of the schoolmates'mar ichuy visited him last week, and promised him that she will take care of the teasing issue.
But, I never imagined she would sacrifice her lovely hair for the sake of my son!
Sir, you and your wife are blessed to have such a noble soul as your daughter.'
I stood transfix. And then, I wept. 'My little Angel, you are teaching me how self-less real love is!'

A Muslim man in Egypt killed his wife because she was reading the Bible and then buried her with their infant baby and an 8-year old daughter.
The girls were buried alive!

He then reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 days later, another family member died. When they went to bury him, they found the 2 little girls under the sand – ALIVE!

The country is outraged over the incident, and the man will be executed.. The older girl was asked how she had survived and she says:- 'A man wearing shiny white clothes, with bleeding wounds in his hands, came
every day to feed us. He woke up my mom so she could nurse my sister,' she said.

She was interviewed on Egyptian national TV, by avail ed Muslim woman news anchor. She said on public TV, 'This was none other than Jesus, because nobody else does things like this!' Muslims believe Isa (Jesus) would do this, but the wounds mean He really was crucified, and it's clear also that He is alive! But, it's also clear that the child could not make up a story like this, and there is no way these children could have
survived without a true miracle.

Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure out what to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie doesn't help! With Egypt at the centre of the media and education in the Middle East , you can be sure this story will spread. Christ is still turning the world upside down! Please let this story be shared.

DON'T MISS A DATE WITH YOUR MOTHER- A MUST READ

After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman
out to dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other
woman loves you and would love to spend sometime with you.

The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my
three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie.
"What's wrong, are you well," she asked?
"I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you," I responded. "Just
the two of us."
She thought about it for a moment, and then said, "I would like that
very much."

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous.
When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be
nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's.
"I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son, and they
were impressed, "she said, as she got into the car. They can't wait to hear about our meeting".

We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady.
After we sat down, I had to read the menu.

Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there
staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips "It was I who used to
have to read the menu when you were small," she said.
"Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded.

During the dinner, we had an agreeable conversation - nothing extraordinary, but catching up on recent events of each other's life.
We talked so much that we missed the movie.

As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again,
but only if you let me invite you." I agreed.

"How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home. "Very
nice, Much more so than I could have imagined," I answered.

A few days later, my mother died.
It happened so suddenly that I did not get to do anything for her.
Some time later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant
receipt from the same place where mother and I had dined.

An attached note said:"I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I
could be there; but nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son."

At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: "I
LOVE YOU!" and to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.

Nothing in life is more important than your family.
Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be
put off till "some other time."

Two little boys stole a bag of oranges from their neighbor and decided to go to a calm place and share their "loot". One of them suggested the nearby cemetery.

As they were jumping the big gate to enter the cemetery, two oranges fell out of the bag behind the gate, but they didn't bother to pick them
since they had enough in the bag.

A few minutes later a drunkard, on his way from a local bar passes by near the cemetery gate and heard a voice: "ONE FOR ME,ONE FOR YOU,ONE FOR ME ONE FOR YOU"

He immediately sobers up and runs as fast as he can to the local Priest and gasping for breath he says:"Father... father please come with me..come and witness GOD and satan sharing corpses at the cemetery.

They both ran back to the cemetery gate and the voice continued: "ONE FOR ME ONE FOR YOU,ONE FOR ME ONE FOR YOU..." Suddenly the voice stop counting and says: "WHAT ABOUT THE TWO AT THE GATE?"

They started running...even the Priest almost passed the church gate

There was once a guy who suffered from cancer... a cancer that can't be treated. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once.

So he asked his mother and she gave him permission. He walked down his block and found a lot of stores.

He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a young girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.

She looked up and asked "Can I help you?" She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there.

He said "Uh... Yeah... Umm... I would like to buy a CD." He picked one out and gave her money for it.
"Would you like me to wrap it for you?" she asked, smiling her cute smile again.

He nodded and she went to the back.
She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store. He went home and from then on, he went to that store everyday and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really wanted to but he couldn't. His mother found out about this and told him to just ask her.

So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store. He bought a CD like he did everyday and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he left his phone number on the desk and ran out...

!!!RRRING! !!
The mother picked up the phone and said, "Hello?"
It was the girl!!! She asked for the boy and the mother started to cry and said, "You don't know? He passed away yesterday... "

The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother.

Later in the day. the mother went into the boy's room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet. She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised to find all those CDs and she picked one up and sat down on the bed and she started to open one.

Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper. The motherpicked it up and started to read it.

It said: Hi... I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jacelyn The mother opened another CD...

¤A lady does not act or pretend because she must be accepted by a guy.
¤A lady says whatever is in her mind all times.
¤A lady dresses up to bring out her ferminine side by wearing the right thing for her body type while being careful not to expose what should be properly covered because she knows its more appreciated when hidden.
¤A lady bares it all for her man inside, but hides it from every other man outside.
¤A lady understands and values time with her maker and God. She knoes she is nothing without him
¤A lady does not consume bottles of beer. She knows its unladylike.

BURNED BISCUITS- A MUST READ...

Must read this story carefully and share it......I hope it will help you to change your mentality towards any kind of relationship.

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then.
I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed!

Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said:

"Honey, I love burned biscuits. Don't be sorry "

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said,

"Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

Life is full of imperfect things... and imperfect people.
I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God.
Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!

Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own."

So, please pass me a biscuit. And, yes, the burnt one will do just fine!

One day, his wife, who had very long hair asked him to buy her a comb for her hair to grow well and to be well-groomed.
The man felt very sorry and said no. He explained that he did not even have enough money to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken.

She did not insist on her request.
The man went to work and passed by a watch shop, sold his damaged watch at a low price and went to buy a comb for his wife.

He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife.

He was surprised when he saw his wife with a very short hair cut.
She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch band.

Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions, but for the reciprocity of their love.

MORAL: To love is nothing, to be loved is something but to love and to be loved by the one you love,that is EVERYTHING. Never take love
for granted. :)

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?"

The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it."

Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"

The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.
"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."

Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. Thedrive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room.

She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. Theletter said:

"Dear Mom,

I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with eachday. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him.

Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wantedto write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom?

God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off toyou. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him

'Where wasHe when I needed him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it towrite some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm, sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! Howabout that?

Oh why a marvellous state to be happy, Happiness can be defined as a mental or emotional state of well-being characterised by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy, It is also a moment of total excitement and pleasure, which certainly brings about total peace, love, unity etc. Every normal person wants to be happy to be happy, bt nt every1 understands d principles/pathways governing it. Though for most people happiness z mo mental, but understanding dis basic pathways/principle can make it a life style.

PATHWAYS TO HAPPINESS
1. Forget the former things (but be sure u learnt 4rm it)
2. Don't bear grudges ( is better u express yourself dan live wit bitterness)
3. Take responsibility 4 ur life
4. Build ur character/ attitude
5. Build healthy relationships
6. Be confident in who you are(Don't imitate people)
7. Identify ur purpose in life n pursue
8. Be optimistic all d time
9. Accept ur mistakes/failures and correct/amend them
10. Be at least content wit what u have, while u strive 4 d ones u desire
11. Utilise d potentials in you(talents)
12. MAKE OTHERS HAPPY (very important).
Finally: happiness depends basically on individual, if u choose to be happy u will be........for me I CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY, I Don't know about u........

A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams:
"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh !!!"
To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the
mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer:"Who are you?"
And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"
The voice answers: "I admire you!"
Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"
He receives the answer:"Coward! "

He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"
The father smiles and says:"My son, pay attention."
Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"
The voice answers: "You are a champion!"
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.

Then the father explains:"People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.

Love isn't only a feeling.
Love is the energy that keeps us alive in every way ...
So does pain. Love and hurt lie close together.
But it isn't love that hurt us, it's the fact that with everytime we fall in love we also expect. It might be wrong, but let's be honest it's true. Like seeing someone you love, loves somebody else is painful.

But if we truly love someone it should be like ..
seeing that someone you love heartbroken
. hurts even more.

Only if we recognize the difference we're willing to love unconditionally. and we won't feel any pain ...
Only the one who's looking for you ..
is the one you've been waiting for ..

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU MOM? A MUST READ

After having a lot of success in his career a young man felt an urge to repay back to his mother for all that she had done for him.

So he asked her, "Mom, what can I give you? What can I do for you?

I sincerely want to repay you for all the sacrifices you have made for me and forall the love you have showered upon me."

Mother looked surprised and said,
"Why do you think about it.
It was my duty so I did it, you don't have to repay me.
Even if you want to, there is no way a man can ever repay his mother."

Despite her continuous refusal to ask for anything, he continued to persist. To put an end to the discussion,
mom said, "All right. If you must, then tonight you sleep on my bed, with me, just as you used to when you were a baby."
He said, "That's a strange thing to ask for, but if it pleases you, I will."

As soon as he fell asleep, the mother got up and brought a bucket of water. She poured a mug full of water on his side.
Feeling disturbed by the wetness under him, in his sleep he moved away to the other side of the bed.
As he settled down, his mother poured another mug of water on the other side.
In his slumber he tried to find space towards the foot post of the bed.

Sometime later, he woke up feeling that this part of the bed too was damp.
He got up and saw his mother, with the mug in her hand.
He asked angrily, "What are you doing mother?
Why don't you let me sleep?
How do you expect me to sleep on a wet bed?"

Mother said, "I slept with you, when you wetted the bed in the night.
I changed your clothes and moved you to the dry part of the bed, while I slept on the wet side.
You wanted to repay me, Can you sleep here even for one
night with me on a damp bed?
If you can, I'll take it that you have repaid me."

MORAL LESSON:
Of all the debts in the world, the one that can never be repaid is the one you owe to your mother.
You can never repay the love, care and time your mother gave to bring you up.
You are a part of her flesh and blood; don't forget this, because she never ever forgets it.
