Hard to believe another month has passed and it is time for another Fine Art Friday post. I hope you enjoyed viewing all the other photographers images from last month. There are some talented ladies in this group. In honor of Washington’s Birthday last Wednesday here is a shot of the Washington Monument I took one evening.

One of the benefits of living near DC-you never run out of subjects to photograph. Next month keep your eyes out for some Cherry Blossoms, I bet with the weather we have been having they will bloom early this year!

Fine Art Friday is one of my new personal projects for this year. Each month I will be participating with some other fabulous photographer friends. We will each post a photo which we feel represents a more artistic vision. Something fun just for us and not for our clients. This month I did choose one which you may have seen before, I took a series of pomegranate shots last year. Next month I promise to have a new shot.

Mr. Serious | Northern Virginia Family Photographer

You may recognize this family, I photographed them last fall as well, I ♥ repeat clients not only because it shows that they loved their final product but because I get to see how the children have grown.

This little guy was 6 months old during his last session and for the life of me I could not get a smile out of him, it’s kind of a personal challenge of mine to get a smile out of every child that I photograph. As my parents will tell you I am quite silly most of the time during my sessions they probably think I am nuts but it works I was determined to get a smile this time around. He was still in his reserved serious mood most of the session but I did manage to get a few smiles (at the expense of tickling his mom-sorry mom!)

These kiddos gave me a workout, but it was worth it. They were fun. Once I showed the little one the hat he did not want to take it off, it was pretty funny. I was so excited when the mom ordered the family one of them with the little guy tipping the hat as a 16×20 canvas, it’s going to be amazing-I can’t wait for it to come in.
