Swan Song - New Painting!

I have finished a new abstract painting, one of a series. So far, it's looking like it should be about 5 in the series, but knowing myself and where I usually run with this style and healing way of painting it may be more.

In the meantime, here is the first in the series. Matting and framing will be left up to the ultimate owner of the piece. I do have the larger image and some detailed images by request. Please do feel free to contact me.

New Back to Mother - the underpainting continued

I was able to work on this painting again today. Here is where I am thus far. It's starting to come together and feeling good!

I'm thinking sunrise, for some reason. It just started to flow that way...we'll see where it goes :-)

New Back to Mother - the underpainting

I've been determined to get back to painting one of my favorite subjects, old adobe buildings and churches in the southwest, specifically Colorado and New Mexico. I've painted this particular subject, this old Spanish Church before, but wanted to work it from the point of view of using a red under painting.

I usually do not share the process, but due to some fairly persistent requests, I now offer this as the first in a few of the new paintings I am working on. Stay tuned, this just might be fun!

The two images are included because one is under a flash from the camera and the other with a warm light only and no flash. Interesting how light plays with color isn't it? One is a bit "cold" even with a red under painting and the other shows "warmth" Fun to play with but very important when showing on line and in galleries. Lighting, very important!

Please feel free to leave some thoughts if so inclined. I would love to hear your point of view. This piece is not finished of course, it is the under painting once again, but I will en devour to share meaningful changes as I progress with the piece.

The piece is acrylic 12x24x1.5" - deep gallery style canvas, framing not required.

Revamped Site

I'm working on rebuilding and revamping my whole website. Big task! Wow.

Anyway, it's a work in progress. Here and there will probably still link back to old stuff, but what the heck. It's fun to meander every now and again. Well, with me it's fun to meander all the time, too much to learn and observe and enjoy. I should have been born Ralph Waldo Emerson (the feminine equivalent with out the rampant anti female sentiment of the day)

Check out some of the new stuff from the home page and let me know what you think. I would like a little feedback to be sure (need even)

I've been out of the loop for a little too long. My internet was down AND my phone was down. Long story, but be warned...be sure your upgrade to a faster dsl, new modem, and Magic Jack are all working before you cut off your phone service. Oh boy did that cause a perfect storm of not being able to get any of it fixed and back up again in a timely manner. *sigh*

Back to sites and stuff! I am back up and back on and stuff like that. Check out the beginning stages of my new site revamp and let me know what you think, things to do, things to change and fun stuff like that!

Weird Wrinkled Egg

Kind of an odd post I know, but I wanted to share this bizarre egg I gathered last night. Weird and wrinkled, it's very large, about 2x3" and you can see it compared to the others I gathered at the same time. No, it has not been altered, and no I didn't do any science experiments by keeping this egg in vinegar for several days, this is the real deal.

I'm currently looking for some reasons and it looks to be some sort of bronchial thing so far. Still researching, but in the meantime...sort of like the twilight zone!

Nicki and Cheyenne at Ship Wreck Point

I know I have a lot of dogs. I do love them all...but my Nicki, my sweet Nicki was my angel girl. That special pound dog. That dog that is so much more than just a dog. She is a companion, truly my best friend. An angel. Pet? No, family member. She was everything we could ever love and hope for.

My sweet Nicki girl had a stroke last Saturday night. And the once proud and independent girl (who marked with the best of the boys) was brought down to being full of embarrassment and humiliation. Poor sweet girl. She didn't realize I didn't mind cleaning up after her. She didn't realize I would try to help her outside. Nope, she insisted on trying to do it herself. She couldn't.

Strokes are horrific for both people and animals.

Miss Nicki was going to be 15 years old on May 2nd.

You know what I keep seeing? That sweet dog running toward me in her fun wiggly way when she was full of life and playing at the beach at mach II. Big smile on her face as she whizzed by with an air of "catch me if you can"

I love my sweet Nicki girl...I will always miss you baby.

Puppies are 7 weeks old

The puppies are seven weeks old now, almost 8 weeks (next Tuesday)

We still have 3 boys left and 3 girls.
Full registration for boys - 600.00
Full registration for girls - 800.00
Partial registration/girls - 600.00

Partial registration is simply non breeding. So if you don't intend to breed the females the price is also 600.00

Everyone is doing great, starting to jump and play and be serious little rascally guard dogs. Make an appointment to come on out and see them!

My daughter went out to the manger to get some new video of the babies. I couldn't help but laugh, they are so sweet and just plain hilarious! As you can see from all the plates, they just finished eating. But they still thought they needed some of Momma. She had other ideas! Enjoy the show!

Purebred German Shepherd (European) Puppies were born on September 30th. They are now 6 weeks. Will have the first shots this week. Have had some in house paper training. AKC registered parents Sire Diego and Dam Cheyenne are on site.

New Today! Almost 4 weeks old

New Picture! The pups are almost 4 weeks old today 10-26-08. Tuesday will be the one month mile stone. I'm going to try and get a video up today so stay tuned for that one. In the meantime I thought I'd share the long suffering Cheyenne. She's a very good momma but this picture sort of tells the tale on how she's starting to feel about 10 of them...and they can walk now! So she can't get away, mmmwwwhhhaaaa! Hee hee. Poor Sweet Baby!
