Growing Up As A Replacement Child In The Shadow Of An Older Brother Or Sister Who Died, Can Be Traumatic For That Child Says Dr. Kixx Goldman

2026-10-16T10:42:25.193-05:00

'Speak From Your Heart And Be Heard: Stories Of Courage And Healing,' takes readers on a journey that is an illuminating exploration into intuition, resilience, and emotional honesty. The ebook version of the book will be available at no charge Oct. 19 and 20 at Amazon.

According to the National Institute of Health, the "replacement child syndrome" describes the psychological difficulties that may arise when a child is born or is adopted after the death of a sibling and is unconsciously treated as a substitute for that child by the parents. It is not a formal psychiatric diagnosis, but a concept used in family and grief psychology.

In such cases, the child may feel that he or she is expected to resemble or behave like the lost sibling, fulfill the sibling’s role or ambitions or perhaps help alleviate the parents’ grief. According to an article in Psychology Today, a child born after a loss is not automatically a “replacement child”; the key issue is whether the family—or the child—experiences them as filling the lost sibling’s place.

Dr. Kixx Goldman devotes an entire chapter of Speak From Your Heart to the replacement child issue. It is a story that is both heart-rending and eye-opening.

"When I wrote about Lucy and her tragic ending in my story, "The Replacement Child," old feelings surfaced. Once again, I mourned the loss of a young woman I had known and cared about. As I wrote more, it became something else, an elegy for lost children, like Lucy. Often these children have caring parents who, like Lucy's parents, Betty and Josh, are struggling with unresolved grief from the death of an older child. If parents don't take time to accept and resolve their grief, they run the risk of failure in crucial bonding with their other children.

As some of us may know or only imagine, the loss of a child is profound. Betty was grief stricken after the death of her first child, Kyle. For parents, idealization of the lost child is common. Hopes and dreams resided in them. Not in an emotional space to nurture their other children, parents may instead burden them with past expectations and fears. In some cases, the replacement child is a constant, cruel reminder to parents of the lost child, the “angel.” (Psychology Today, Sept. 24, 2014)

Dr. Albert Cain, a psychologist, and his wife, Barbara Cain, a social worker, first studied the replacement child in the 1960s. They reported on six families in therapy after the death of a child. Their subsequent children developed emotional problems (Psychology Today, August 2012). Perhaps Josh or Betty, unwittingly, thought of Lucy as a substitute for Kyle, when they adopted her so quickly after his death. As we learn, this does not bode well for Lucy.

Rachel Stern is Betty's friend. As a therapist, Rachel is aware of the importance of grieving and the consequences of “substitution” on surviving children. When she arrives to visit Betty and again hears her label Lucy as a “pathological liar,” Rachel recoils. As events unfold, her dismay grows as she witnesses Betty’s persistent distrust and rejection of Lucy.

Rachel watches in despair as Betty gazes mournfully at the prominent photo of her lost son, Kyle, over the mantel, with Lucy looking on. What must Lucy be feeling? With Betty so fixed on her idealized memory of Kyle, she is blinded to seeing Lucy clearly, a beautiful young woman in the bloom of life.

Betty continually blames Lucy for her own mistakes. By the time Rachel visits with Lucy, alone, in her bedroom, her mother's criticism and attacks have left deep scars. Not only has this young woman learned she will never measure up or meet her mother’s unrealistic expectations, but she is having grave difficulty developing her identity.

Perhaps you wonder how Lucy’s story could have been different?

If Betty had taken time to grieve and accept the loss of Kyle, she might have been able to bond with Lucy and encourage her to develop her own identity. It could have been a healing experience for both mother and daughter.

Instead of calling Lucy a "pathological liar," Betty might have supported her and said something like, “I’d like you to feel safe enough with me to be honest. I trust and support you, Lucy. Dad and I love you! You're an important part of our family.”

Could Lucy’s death have been avoided if Rachel had spoken out instead of stifling her responses or would it have taken more than that? You, dear readers, may ponder that same question.

Imagine Lucy’s life if we had more community support systems for troubled children or, for that matter, their parents. Parents may apply labels like “pathological liar,” especially when they feel powerless to solve problems. Lucy’s life might have been spared if Betty and Josh had help from the community, from a group that encouraged them to tell their stories, talk about their challenges, and interact more genuinely with their daughter. It’s possible they could have broken out of the destructive dance that undermined their love and best intentions.

'Speak from Your Heart And Be Heard' is not just a book-it's a beacon of hope and healing, offering readers real insight for navigating life with grace and resilience.

The ebook version of the book will be available October 19 and 20 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Dr.-Kixx-Goldman/author/B07XCZ9SXS.

The eight engaging fictional stories in this collection are personal, drawn from experiences in Dr. Kixx's life and the lives of her clients. The characters are tested by everyday traumas...

o A devoted father and his daughter find hope in rewriting their past.
o With remarkable grit, a teacher escapes a surprise attack.
o To heal his childhood wounds, a man must conquer his fears.
o A therapist defies the establishment to protect her clients.
o As she confronts the church, a therapist regains her standing.
o A woman learns the risks of not speaking out.
o By sharing her story and bonding with peers, a woman overcomes her trauma.

As the characters in these stories find the courage to triumph over their challenges, they heal and grow.

These characters, inspired by real life people, show readers how to find the courage to transform difficult and traumatic life experiences, speak their truth and reclaim their power.

'Speak From Your Heart and Be Heard: Stories Of Courage And Healing' has received rave reviews from readers and reviewers. Leslie S. Greenberg, PhD, distinguished Research Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Psychology, York University said, " In each story, the characters' resilience is illustrated by how they transform difficult life stories into constructive final narratives. They find the courage to triumph over challenges to heal and they grow. The message of the book: speaking one's truth makes for desired change and healing."

In her review, Liz Moulden said, "The short stories from Speak from Your Heart and Be Heard have given me a second chance and a voice, the voice I never had. What's exciting about this book is each main character in these short stories experienced some kind of abuse/ trauma but each finds their inner voice. With help, they're able to heal. Anyone who has ever experienced abuse or trauma as I have will be able to see snapshots of themselves in these stories."

Bestselling Romantic Fiction Novel, The English Professor By Gina Iafrate Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Form October 19 and 20 At Amazon

2026-10-16T10:11:48.245-05:00

Gina Iafrate writes sweeping family sagas that allow readers to escape to faraway places through engaging storylines and richly detailed narratives. This romantic fiction novel was a winner of the Book of Excellence Award.

Award winning author Gina Iafrate has announced that the ebook version of her award-winning romantic fiction novel, The English Professor, will be available at no charge October 19 and 20, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Gina-Iafrate/author/B00MRZ8Y9A.

In this book, Andrew Robertson, an introverted, middle-aged professor leaves his unremarkable London life to embark on a journey to Sicily where strangers welcome him kindly. In this sensuous Mediterranean setting, he develops a burning infatuation for another man’s wife. Falling into each other’s arms, Andrew and Francesca both satisfy and heighten the emotional and physical longing they have felt all their adult lives. Their union results in a child. But Andrew must go back to London and Francesca must protect herself, Andrew and their child from the violent reach of her husband.

The Professor's Daughter is the sequel to The English Professor. Set in Italy, this romantic fiction novel allows readers to immerse themselves in the life of Gracy and her adventures in love and the trials and tribulations she faces.

In The Professor's Daughter, Gracy Robertson is the love child of an intense love affair.

At birth she was taken from her dying mother and left in the care of the devastated Professor, her dad. Living in hiding for years, they managed to avoid the long reach of the corrupt mobsters who had taken her mother’s life.

Once the threat was gone, they believed that peace could return to their lives at the place where the professor’s passion and love for her mother had resulted in Gracy’s conception.

Once there, just as a peaceful life and a sense of normalcy seem long lasting, the professor’s life journey comes to an end. Gracy, grief stricken by the loss of her dad’s love and his devotion, is challenged to overcome the heartache and the fogginess of her empty world.

Her destiny once more takes her across the ocean where she finds love and affection. However, fate is not done with her, and it strikes with both people and difficult situations that threaten her peace of mind, her heart, and her life. These threats and dangers are appeased only when her heart finds its home in her denied lover’s devotion.

Love and Betrayal is the third in the series.

Gracy thought she had found her true eternal love. This manifested deep in her faithful heart.

Unfortunately, later in her married life, this happiness turned disenchanting. Alvaro’s promises of his vows, for better or for worse, in happiness and sorrow, until death do us part, had all changed. Fate delivered his unfaithfulness with pain and suffering. His behaviour brought catastrophic consequences along the way, influenced by someone else’s greed, jealousy, and revenge. Gracy’s emotional journey of survival turned challenging.

Later in life, in solitude and despair. the universal bliss tested her with waves of courage. With the intervention of caring people, she finally found, once more, love, peace, and support. Her heart finally rejoiced in comfort once more until her terrestrial journey came to an end.

Gina Iafrate writes sweeping family sagas that allow readers to travel the globe without leaving home. Like fine pieces of music, her books are layered, providing readers with intricately formed mental images, punctuated by dramatic movements. In the tradition of writers like Nicholas Sparks and John Grisham, Gina's extraordinary story lines reveal the richness of the human experience told through the eyes of finely drawn characters. Nearly all of her story lines involve rich and tactile descriptions of exotic places, placing the reader in the very midst of those locales.

Other books in Gina Iafrate's Strong Women series features a number of romantic fiction novels that feature characters who have managed to overcome staggering odds and yet emerge from overwhelming circumstances to build lives that can serve as models for women everywhere. Books in the Strong Women series also include:

The Girl From The Cornfield

It is 1950 and Giuliana Ferrante is growing up in a sleepy town deep in the Italian mountains.

In this coming-of-age saga, her young life is rocked to its core by a vicious attack that shatters the peaceful existence that she and many around her have always taken for granted.

Giuliana, determined to make a future for herself, flourishes by working tirelessly toward her education, securing a legal degree and ultimately a successful position in the business world.

She conquers all with kindness and love, managing to rise above the painful memories of her youth.

This sweeping, inspirational tale hurtles across time, countries, and characters as it explores how love can heal, reconcile, and restore.

Bestowed By Love And Splendour:

A breath-taking story of a broken-hearted wife and mother who unexpectedly finds the universal bliss takes her away from a tormented life, far across the ocean. On the exotic island of Sardinia, she becomes hypnotized by nature's beauty; the cloudless sky, the emerald-blue hues of the sea and the gentleness of the people.

But fate strikes once more. Destiny takes over and transports her to a world beyond her imagination . . . allowing her to find peace, love, and splendour.

Iafrate is also the author of Releases From My Soul, a new collection of anthologies, crafted through a distinctive and intriguing combination of true stories, adventures and experiences from her life.

Gina gifts us with poems drawn from the depth of her soul. Some of the factual novellas were drawn directly from the author’s interesting life experiences, events and travel. Others were drawn purely from imagination.

Natalie and Maggie, best friends since college, find themselves in the romantic, mystical and intriguing city of Jerusalem when Natalie's husband, David, takes a short sabbatical there. The appearance of Jack, a diamond dealer and Natalie's old boyfriend from college, creates tension and arousal for Natalie. Will she do things she will come to regret? Maggie meets Jack's friend: tall, dark and handsome. What about her boyfriend back home? But Maggie is mesmerized also by a new man in her life: Raji from Inida. This can only get more complicated! Meanwhile, a mysterious woman named Chaya Sarah soon captivates both women with spiritual experiences and fascinating adventures she sends them on. However, her actions and secrecy about herself baffle them, and they become concerned that Chaya Sarah may be involved in more than meets the eye. The mystical energy of Jerusalem along with the reality of terrorism compounds an already intense experience for both women.

In addition, her upcoming film, 'I Had An Affair With My Husband', is a finalist in the World Class Film Awards, and has been accepted in three other festivals: The Mei International Film Festival, The Los Angeles Show Film Award Festival and the Singapore Film and Script Festival.

The story explores a unique and humorous dynamic between a married couple. The wife finds herself falling in love with a new voice her husband has developed, which leads to an improved intimate life but also triggers intense jealousy in the husband toward his own voice. The narrative follows their journey as they navigate these unusual feelings, eventually seeking help from a therapist to address the disconnect between the husband's persona and this new "identity."

Ultimately, the couple reaches an honest understanding. They realize that while the voice is a fantasy they can occasionally enjoy—and perhaps even expand upon with other personas—their real love for one another remains the foundation of their relationship.

The film is a lighthearted romp that uses an unusual scenario to explore real themes of honesty and fantasy within a marriage.

The film will be released later in 2026.

Top Motivational Speaker Rocky Romanella Presents A Four Part Leadership Series- The Mentor: Believing In People Before They Believe In Themselves

2026-10-11T09:07:03.933-05:00

Renowned as a keynote speaker, trainer, and Forbes Contributor, Romanella founded 3SIXTY Management Services, LLC. With 40+ years in leadership, he served as CEO and Director at UniTek Global Services after a 36-year UPS career.

Mentoring, from a leadership perspective, is of utmost importance. But there is an aspect of mentoring that is seldom discussed -- recognizing potential that others cannot yet see. When a leader communicates genuine confidence in someone, it can provide the encouragement needed to take risks, develop skills, and persist through setbacks. This builds confidence, develops ownership and strengthens commitment. Above all, it can reveal hidden potential.

Bestselling author and keynote speaker Rocky Romanella recently announced a four-part leadership series titled, "The Mentor: Believing In People Before They Believe In Themselves."

Part 1 - The Heart Of Belief
Part 2 - Coach Wooden And The Heart Of Mentoring
Part 3 - Belief In Action
Part 4 - Legacy, Identity And The One Word That Defines You

In Part 1, Rocky discussed his father and the spark that shaped a lifetime of leadership. In Part 2, he steps into Coach John Wooden’s living room and learns that mentoring is about shaping people, not performance. In Part 3 he discusses the UPS promotion from within culture, where belief becomes a responsibility and where the circle of mentoring belief came full circle in the MBE/The UPS Store Franchise Network. In Part 4 he explores the most underrated leadership superpower of all - coachability - and the one word that defines one's leadership legacy.

As Rocky stated in the opening preview, "Every leader can remember the moment someone believed in them before they believed in themselves. The coach. The teacher. The manager. The mentor. The person who looked you in the eye and said, “You can do this,” at the exact moment you weren’t sure you could. That moment doesn’t just stay with you, it shapes you. It becomes the quiet force that pushes you forward when doubt tries to pull you back.

"And now, in an AI driven world where uncertainty is rising and confidence is slipping, those moments matter more than ever. AI can analyze, predict, and optimize. But AI cannot believe in people. Only leaders can. Only you can.

Over the next four newsletters, we’re going to pull back the curtain on one of the most powerful forces in leadership the mentor who sees potential before performance. You’ll step into the kitchen table where my father gave me the advice that shaped my entire career. You’ll walk into Coach Wooden’s living room and hear the wisdom that changed how I lead. You’ll see how UPS taught me what belief looks like in action. And you’ll discover the five behaviors great coaches share, the underrated superpower of being coachable, and the one question that defines your leadership legacy.

"Think of this series as a journey one that will challenge you, stretch you, and make you rethink what leadership really means. By the end, you won’t just understand belief. You’ll feel it. You’ll see it. And you’ll know exactly how to use it to lift the people who are counting on you.

"This isn’t just a series. It’s a call to action. A challenge. A reminder that leadership is not about the role you hold, it’s about the people you lift. And by the end, you’ll be ready to lead with more clarity, more purpose, and more belief than ever before.

Parts 1 and 2 are now available at Rocky's website, https://3SixtyManagementServices.com in the newsletter section. Parts 3 and 4 will be released over the next four weeks.

Romanella continues to speak, coach, and write on leadership, ethics, and purpose driven decision making, helping organizations build high character, high performance cultures in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Trauterose, The Award-Winning Memoir By WWII Survivor Elisabeth Haggblade, Offers A First Person Account Of Post-World War II Germany

2026-10-06T11:18:44.413-05:00

Elisabeth Haggblade's eyewitness account, winner of the 2024 Indie Reader Discovery Award, will likely be regarded as one of the best accounts ever written about post-World War II Germany.

There is no shortage of information about WWII and its aftermath. But unfortunately, missing from history books, movies and the plethora of documentaries is the human story of Germany’s postwar crisis. In 1945, the country faced political fragmentation, economic collapse, and profound social upheaval. For the people of Germany, the end of the war did not mean an end to hardship—it marked instead the beginning of a struggle to survive amid uncertainty and loss.

While countless accounts explore Germany’s wartime experience, far fewer capture the daily realities and psychological toll of the years that followed. Trauterose, an award-winning memoir, brings those realities into focus through Elisabeth Haggblade’s first-person testimony.

Orphaned at birth during World War II, Haggblade spent her first eleven years in the household of a former SS officer and his family. Her story offers a rare, very intimate view of postwar Germany—one shaped by lived experience and the demands of survival, adaptation, and grief.

The book has earned the 2024 IndieReader Discovery Award in the Memoir category and First Place Non-Fiction in The Authors Show 2024 Book Cover Awards. More than a personal account, Trauterose illuminates a pivotal historical moment through the details of everyday life, revealing how instability and deprivation shaped the choices people faced.

Haggblade’s testimony also conveys the physical and psychological scars of war, both in her own life and in the lives of those she encountered. Against a backdrop of fragile institutions and scarce resources, even ordinary routines demanded resilience. Yet her narrative also shows how faith and community helped people endure.

Elisabeth writes, “One person aiding and delivering faith: The late Pope Benedict XVI, known then as Herr Joseph Ratzinger, teacher of catechism in our fourth-grade class in the 1950s. After he left our school, his hand-written letter spelled out the proper path to follow in growing up : ‘If one buttons one’s coat the wrong way, one would have to undo all of it and start over again to make it right. So it is with life,’ admonishing us ‘to choose the right beginning.”’

“I wrote this book as a reaction to reports and pictures of that time that I saw: Glamorous portrayals in German magazines of the postwar years,” Haggblade stated. “More importantly, I wanted to respond to positive comments I kept hearing from Americans about their understanding of the postwar years. Both impressions were in contrast to my experience growing up and those I came in contact with. They told only one side of the story.

“On a personal level, I wanted to bring the reader into the picture: How life had to go on, war or no war. I let the rooms and the furniture be witnesses to our family’s daily struggle.

“By looking back, we learn how Germany has reckoned with its past. We can trace the changes the country has undergone and what it has become politically, sociologically, and economically on account of its size and influence in Europe and in the world today. Baruch Spinoza exhorts us: ‘ To understand, not judge.’”

In a recent talk for the AAUW book club members in Santa Barbara, CA, she described in detail some of the challenges faced during that time.

“One had to make an effort to establish a routine, to bring some kind of order into one’s life. What was it like to get up in the morning, trying to find soap, comb, toothbrush, warm water–not a small task in those times.

“We had to find food and ways to cook it.

“One still had to go to school, without public or private transportation, in all seasons. Find a place to do homework. Find proper clothes and shoes to wear; gear for rain, clothes for winter; Find thread for mending clothes. And we had to deal with sickness and death in the family.

“All the while, people still had to suffer the usual annoying indignities of adolescence, middle age crises, old age problems.”

In short, 'Trauterose' is the account of one person's search for humanity in existence—a cautionary tale on the inherited guilt created by rampant nationalism, and a painfully honest and often humorous view of the world through the eyes of a young woman who found her way to freedom and purpose.

Readers and reviewers have expressed praise for Trauterose. Craig Jones of IndieReader wrote, "TRAUTEROSE (Growing Up in Postwar Munich) by Elisabeth Haggblade offers an uncompromising, moving, and elegiac memoir of a deprived childhood in postwar Germany." Midwest Book Review said, "Libraries seeking powerful, personal memoirs that hold political and social lessons and insights will find Trauterose a study in adaptation, survival, and growth. It also deserves attention from young adult and adult book clubs seeking memoirs that reflect not just individual experience, but a sense of the culture and times."

One Amazon review stated, "The book is extremely well written, and I would recommend it highly." Another said, "I highly recommend this book. It will touch your heart." Another wrote, "It offers an unforgettable window into a time and place that few Americans know about."

Bestselling Travel Book, Asian Trail Mix By Author Eric Madeen, Will Be Available In Ebook Form At No Charge October 3 and 4, 2026 At Amazon

2026-10-01T09:33:06.418-05:00

Madeen is a recently retired professor of modern literature at Tokyo City University and an adjunct professor at Keio University. He writes cross-genre and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.

Bestselling author Eric Madeen recently announced that his best-selling travel book, 'Asian Trail Mix: True Tales From Borneo To Japan', will be available at no charge in ebook form October 3 and 4, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW.

‘Asian Trail Mix' scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose. See up close and personal the razzmatazz of novice monks at play in northern Laos, the bonding with hustling pedicab drivers in Ho Chi Minh City, the rainforests blazed on gutsy treks across Borneo and Thailand's Elephant Island and novel things Japanese. Served up nice and spicy, Asian Trail Mix is slathered across 12 rocking-it essays plus a tall tale at its glorious ending, making for a baker's dozen of sumptuousness.

In a review for 'Asian Trail Mix', one reader said, "The writing is lush and emotive. It contains images and turns of phrase that will stay with you." Another said, "'Mr. Madeen has a knack for taking one into the depths of a country and introducing the reader to fascinating customs and interesting characters. Five stars!"

Another stated, "The author has a discerning eye for subjects of local interest at each of the intervening destinations, and truly commendable is how he’s able to draw out characters, getting their riveting stories while sketching remarkable details on the Asian trail. Eric Madeen, an American based in Japan, is clearly fueled with high-energy. It’s a rush to keep up with him, both on and off trail, either way transcribed in a voice that’s more than a language function but the sum totality of this writer’s experiences and means of expression. Madeen has been there and proof is in his prose.”

The ebook version will be available October 3 and 4, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW.

Other books by Madeen include:

'Water Drumming In The Soul' - a fiery tale set in steamy equatorial Africa, Peace Corps volunteer David Fields, is on mission: to build a medical dispensary in a village where spells are cast on enemies and fear of a witch doctor reigns. David seldom has his bearings – cultural or geographical – and must fight a cocktail of tropical maladies as well as social taboos as he throws himself into work. Until... he meets Assam. Captivated by her water drumming, her playing the stream as a drum, David is drawn to her early on and becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a rollicking game of love it is - with a tension or excitement between them that never dissipates, until the haunting end.

‘Tokyo-ing!’ - This is an apt word for this trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s or rather the world’s most dynamic megalopolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to - until the delicious end.

‘Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed’ - In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship. Between pops of new cans of tennis balls, Madeen has interwoven chapters seemingly lived as a prof, but herein a delirious fun-house look at Japanese university life. The whole wonderous unwrapping of a kimono’s obi likened by Peter Goodman, publisher of Stone Bridge Press, to a position paper on Japan.

Massage World - Peek under the drape …The body is in pain. So around the world the massage industry is booming, from airport massage bars and upscale spas to risque outcall and down-market parlors. By turns holistic and erotic but always zesty, Massage World is a multicultural thriller and concerns one driven massage therapist, Ingrid Swanson, opening a straight, grandiose health spa -- Massage World -- against the wishes of a wild parlor lord.

Jack Cobb endeavors to take her business over through massage wars where a corrupt undercover vice detective solicits unlawful “extras.” Zany media coverage of a raid incites a neighborhood organization to picket and protest and so much more. Until the cavalry comes in the form of a female biker gang ... making for a mind-blowing world of massage peopled with a rogues gallery found in the nether reaches of a Dionysian dream.

Eric Madeen is available for media interviews and can be reached at ericmadeen777@gmail.com. All of his books are available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW. More information is available at his website at https://ericmadeen.org/.

Book 7 is a masterclass in child advocacy, true love, & angel-ology that blends emotional depth with a community of compassion.

The concept of angels living among us as humans is handled with such grace and wit. As always, I felt deeply immersed in the world of merciful Mystic Bay. Jody’s character development is phenomenal. Experiencing these heavenly beings grapple with human love, fear, & joy is pure magic. It’s heartfelt, sizzling, & absolutely un-putdownable. The reader will come away believing in Angels!

This book is a stunning addition to her magnificent series. It is a radiant reward of Jody’s keen dedication to bringing the love of angels into our world."

Another said, "The angel experiences shared in the book seem real and remind the reader of the meaning of love and how it can change lives. Surely we can put the values illustrated in this beautifully written book in our own lives and make our world a better place for all."

Sharpe is now actively seeking more real-life angel stories. The stories can be submitted at her website at https://jodysharpe.com. Not all stories are accepted. If accepted, the story will be included on her YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zFlB6SCAJg&t=14s, and may be included in her next book.

Other books by Jody Sharpe include:

To Catch an Angel - Jody is also the author of 'To Catch an Angel', written in memory of her late husband Steve. In 'To Catch an Angel', miracles happen in Mystic Bay, California, the town with the psychic and angel vibe. Angels are calling. Psychic Maggie Malone returns home to find she's swept up in the miracle of it all. She can't imagine why her mother left or who her father might be. But these questions pale in comparison to the wonder of the angels. Maggie meets writer, Noah Greenstreet. They realize they've met before, but where? Maggie and Noah embark on a journey to find our world is all awash with angels.

Town Of Angels - it's angel vs. Bully in the town of Mystic Bay, California, where a well-kept secret lies. Angels live as humans there. After angels appeared to three children, all was blissful in the town full of psychics, and ordinary folk. But as brute, Klaus Waxman, comes to town, angel Ken Leighton, a storeowner, must carefully guide his flock of humans not to give in to the bully's efforts. As Klaus opens a store mocking the resident angel sightings, angel Ken guides psychic Justine Greer, and her family to thwart his efforts. And with the help of the indomitable oldest psychic in town, Madam Norma, the bully meets his match through the soft voices and intuitive minds of his neighbors.

Town Of Angels Christmas - The bully never wins. A secret lies in Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a storeowner, fears the secret will be revealed when vet, Jordana Hart, a woman with special healing abilities moves to town.

Years before Angel Ken materialized as an old man, changing the course of her life. Will Jordana recognize Angel Ken as the man from her past as they work together on a rescue mission to bring twenty-two horses to Mystic Bay before Christmas, will they see what lies before them, a Christmas story only the angels could write.

Special Needs Children, The Angels On My Shoulder is a memoir based on her twenty-five years teaching children with special needs. The book placed second in the National Federation Of Press Women's At-Large Communication contest. The book is as entertaining as it is illuminating. It's a love story about the special students and others who over the years graced her life with just that, their grace.

With hearts of angels and challenges to face, the children took Sharpe along their journeys and inspired her own life's journey of self-discovery. When sorrow came, their kindness helped her through. The synchronicity of events from high school to retirement changed her life for the better, turning her face toward heaven.

Midwest Book Review stated, "Sharpe's ability to see the good in circumstances and people identifies the 'special' in 'special needs' as she delineates her journey through the education system and those teaching and social encounters which changed her perspective and life."

"Teachers (especially those working with special needs kids) will find this spiritual and social reflection easily accessible. It's presented in vignettes which offer small, digestible bites of insight into a world where angels and kindness are present in more than one form."

The Dog Who Came For Christmas - Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force Knight, proves to be a force to be reckoned with once more. While Gayle was sleeping, an angel sent her a vision of a future event. With her intuition, Gayle wonders, will she really meet the dog in her dream and save another one?

With the help of her intuitive husband, Alex Knight, and friends, Gayle sets on a course to rescue many more. But with surprising twists and turns of intrigue, both Gayle and Alex find there are always angels at the helm as they ride on their coattails.

20 Moon Road, An Angel's Tale - Miracles still happen in the town of Mystic Bay California. Angels live as humans there. Angel Ken, a former football coach, is surprised when his late best friend, the indomitable psychic, Madam Norma, appears in spirit form and asks him to write the story of her life through her memories she will send him. Surprising to Angel Ken, Madam Norma saw thousands of angels since childhood.

Special Needs Children followed her recently released children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies. The new book helps children understand that love from their parents and others surrounds them. Love conquers fear, and believing that angels are near can help sweep any childhood fear away. This concept is presented in the book when Angel Ken sends Jones and Kate butterflies. The book, appropriate for ages 2 to 7, is now available at Amazon and Ingram.

One of her latest books, Summer Of Angels, is a mystery novel. Meteorologist and psychic, Gayle Force proves a force to be reckoned with as she moves back to her beloved Mystic Bay, California. While sleeping, an angel sent her a vision in a dream of a future event. Gayle realizes she must use her intuition to save an old man from drowning. But who is this old man?

With the help of intuitive attorney, Alex Knight, she finds they are caught in the middle of a future crime. But can Gayle and Alex solve the case and save the old man before it’s too late? With surprising twists and turns of intrigue and love, Gayle and Alex find there are angels at the helm as they help prove the bully never wins.

In addition, on the "Tuesdays With The Angels" section of her site, Sharpe presents stories of real-life encounters with angels. The stories are available at Sharpe's website at http://www.jodysharpe.com.

Sharpe hopes to create a collection of angel stories that involve sightings of angels, interaction with angels, miraculous angel encounters, and other types of accounts or stories. Everyone is welcome to submit angel stories. All submissions will be considered, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Stories may be submitted at http://bit.ly/2FV8amd.

Sharpe's YouTube channel brings all of this together, offering segments on all of these topics. One topic of special interest is bullying, specifically as it relates to special needs children.

In addition to the National Federation of Press Women’s award, Jody was chosen as a winner in the annual "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading" Book Awards. She was chosen from a field of hundreds of authors through a public voting process.

The ebook version will be available September 22 and 23, 2026, at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U.

She also announced two new books, now available in print form on Amazon.

The King of the Numbers is a children's book that stresses the importance of the number zero. While zero can mean nothing, it is also one of the most important numbers, as when paired with other numbers, it greatly increases the value of the paired number. This gives Zero, the hero of the story, his well-deserved reputation as the King of numbers.

The book may help children enhance their sense of self-esteem.

The second book, Poetry by Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, was penned by Dr. Holstein as a young person during a fragile and exciting period in her life. In her words, "poetry tells us in a few words what we feel and see often in our lives that we don't really know how to put into words."

Dr. Holstein is known for wrapping Positive Psychology concepts in forms of media that people find engaging, relatable and inspiring. These include:

Six bestselling, award-winning books (perfect for school libraries)

Four self-esteem workbooks for girls 8 and up

Award-winning films and coming of age selfie films

Podcasts

Dedicated websites

Stage plays

A library of articles

Ted-style talks

As a school psychologist and in her private practice, Dr. Holstein has worked with many children and parents, helping them to develop life skills in decision-making, recognition of their own talents, feel more courageous, and helping both kids and parents develop more successful inter-generational skills. Her last book, ‘Conflict and a Bit of Magic’, helps kids build self-esteem though reading the journal of a girl, identifying with the girl, and understanding they have more courage and resiliency than they thought they had. The book is based on the experiences of the already famous “girl” from 'The Truth, Diary of a Gutsy Tween' and 'Secrets, Diary of a Gutsy Teen', and achieved bestseller status in the multi-generational families category.

Dr. Holstein’s latest workbook for kids, ‘Secrets’ achieved bestseller status in the ‘Teen & Young Adult Nonfiction on Depression’ category.

Dr. Holstein's cutting-edge presentations, most recently based on the Covid-19 pandemic issues, can be found on both YouTube, Vimeo and on the Roku channel and Amazon Fire TV, titled as 'The Enchanted Self Presents'.

Dr. Holstein created The Selfie Showcase, a new project emerging from The Selfie Project, that allows young people to voice their opinions on subjects that matter to young people, including the pandemic.

The Selfie Showcase allows kids, teens, and young adults ages 13 to 18 to candidly express their concerns, worries, observations and possible solutions by creating selfie videos or films around important subjects using a smartphone. Dr. Holstein's mission is to help rectify, in several ways, some issues young people face by giving them a chance to engage with others in meaningful ways about the anxiety and stress they must grapple with constantly.

Bestselling Author And Top Leadership Voice Rocky Romanella Releases New AI Era Series On Belief, Mentorship, and Legacy in the Workplace

2026-09-13T10:19:52.543-05:00

As organizations navigate the rapid transformation brought on by artificial intelligence, automation, and shifting workplace expectations, top leadership voice Rocky Romanella has released a new four part leadership series designed to help leaders stay grounded in the timeless principles of belief, mentorship, coachability, and legacy.

Titled “The Mentor: Believing in People Before They Believe in Themselves,” the series blends Romanella’s decades of leadership experience at UPS and The UPS Store Franchise Network with the values driven lessons he has taught to thousands of leaders across the country.

Romanella, a respected keynote speaker, executive coach, and author of Tighten the Lug Nuts, created the series to help leaders remain steady and purpose driven in an era where technology is accelerating change faster than ever before.

While AI can help us accomplish many things, there is one thing AI cannot do – it cannot lead. It is leadership that sets great organizations apart from the rest of the pack.

“In the age of AI, leaders must remember that belief, trust, and character are still the foundation of every great organization,” Romanella said. “Technology may change how we work, but it will never replace the responsibility leaders have to lift others, mentor with purpose, and leave things a little better than they found them.”

The new four part series explores:

• Belief as a leadership responsibility
• Mentorship through Coach Wooden’s principles
• The UPS promotion from within culture
• Coachability as the bridge between potential and progress
• Gratitude as the anchor of leadership
• The “One Word” identity exercise

Romanella also shares personal stories from his leadership journey, including lessons from his father, his time at UPS, and his experience leading the MBE/The UPS Store Franchise Network — all woven into a modern framework for leading with character in the AI era.

His long standing connection to legendary coach John Wooden further reinforces the depth and authenticity of the mentorship principles explored in the series. Romanella’s published conversation with Wooden, available on his website, offers readers a rare firsthand look at the values and philosophies of one of history’s most respected coaches. Readers can access Romanella’s conversation with Coach Wooden at:
https://www.3sixtymanagementservices.com/category/leadership-training/

“If you choose to lead, you must choose to be an honest and trusted leader,” Romanella added. “Your vision, mission, and values only matter if people trust you enough to follow. In a world of constant change, trustworthiness is your highest honor — and your lasting legacy.”

The full series will be available starting September 15, 2026 and can be accessed at: https://www.3sixtymanagementservices.com/category/newsletters/

Romanella continues to speak, coach, and write on leadership, ethics, and purpose driven decision making, helping organizations build high character, high performance cultures in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Bestselling, Award Winning Novelist Rusty Blackwood Announces No Charge Download Of New Ebook, Before The Grandeur: The Making Of A Horsemaster

2026-09-08T09:45:32.981-05:00

The new book is the prequel to the Autumn series of books.

Award-winning novelist Rusty Blackwood has announced that the ebook version of her latest novel Before The Grandeur: The Making of a Horsemaster, will be available at no charge September 10 and 11, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Rusty-Blackwood/author/B0092XLBRM.

Before the Grandeur: The Making of a Horsemaster, is the prequel to the thrilling Autumn Trilogy of books certain to immerse readers into the equestrian world of professional racing, concealed secrets, and an unfaltering love, demonstrating that determination and grit can turn uncertainty into triumph.

Every legacy begins with a choice - Before the grandeur came the master.

The village of South Wood Chester, Gloucestershire, England, offered little for its residents, and for the deprived young Englishman, Cyril Landon, born into this stricken world of poverty, the road in every aspect appeared hopeless.

A chance for success in any field appeared far removed from his grasp. But life underestimated this young man, for he was filled with determination, grit, and an endless drive to achieve much better than his station in life was offering, and he would not settle for less.

A labourer’s situation at a local farm provided a window into a possible future that he had never given thought to, as he stepped through an opened door that would open many more. Little did he know at that time how far his choice would take him.

In his review, Richard Prause of Readers Favorite said, "It doesn't depend on manufactured plot twists to drive the story. Instead, it focuses on the simple, powerful moments of a man earning the trust of a stallion. It’s a perceptive exploration of ambition and loyalty, indeed. If you appreciate character-driven historical fiction, this novel is well worth your time.

Another reviewer, Asher Syed stated, "Overall, this will be a boon for readers who are already fans of the series, and a brilliant introduction to fans-in-waiting."

"I am pleased to offer, Before the Grandeur: The Making of a Horsemaster, at no charge during this timeframe," stated Blackwood. "Born into extreme poverty with little hope of survival, Cyril Landon's difficult beginnings throughout England's horrific war years, will better assist readers in understanding the difficult journey that precedes the grandeur awaiting them in The Perils of Autumn. For fans of Historical Fiction, this page-turner is a must read."

The new book is available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Rusty-Blackwood/author/B0092XLBRM.

For The Perils Of Autumn, the first book in the series, Blackwood was named as a finalist in the Fiction Romance category by International Book Awards in the 2019 International Book Awards, the 10th annual awards program. She was also named a finalist in the American Book Fest's 2019 awards program in the same category. The first book also received a 5-star rating from Reader's Favorite.

The first book in the series, The Perils Of Autumn, set primarily in the early 1970’s, centers on a young Kentucky woman. Autumn Leeves is born in 1946 to Abigail Leeves, an unwed mother who struggles to make ends meet. Shunned by society of the time, mother and daughter find themselves in peril until they meet a kind old shopkeeper who takes them in.

By 1970, Autumn graduates nursing school and is sent on assignment by the local hospital to care for the terminally ill wife of middle-aged English equestrian master, Cyril Landon. Landon is the owner of Landon Lawns Stables, successful Thoroughbred racing stable located just outside Lexington, Kentucky. Duff Taylor, world renowned jockey lives full-time at Landon Lawns and enjoys the many benefits it brings. Duff has a dark secret surrounding an unsolved racing incident from his past that he will go to any length to protect.

Autumn arrives at Landon Manor in time to be thrown into the fray and finds herself caught in the ongoing disruption that ensues. Cyril and Autumn find themselves attracted to each other, but their ensuing romance is plagued by those trying to stop it, but they rise above it and marry. However, peril again knocks at the door when Abigail suddenly dies, leaving a pregnant Autumn to mourn her loss while fighting to not miscarry her baby who is born through a perilous birth.

Reviewers have also lavished praise on 'The Perils Of Autumn'. Ray Simmons said, "Romance and good writing come together perfectly in Rusty Blackwood's 'The Perils of Autumn'. A great read." Trudi LoPreto said, "This book has it all and more. Please do not pass up 'The Perils of Autumn' - you will not be sorry."

Blackwood's previous 5-star rated romantic fiction novel, 'Willow's Walk', followed the release of 'Passions in Paris: Revelations of a Lost Diary'.

Willow's Walk:

Willow's Walk' is a gripping tale that holds readers captive from the very first page. Set in the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada in 2003, this touching story centers on the life and times of a woman determined to prevail at all costs, regardless of what is set before her, the result of which is certain to leave the reader reeling in its wake.

'Willow's Walk' also received a number of 5-star reviews from professional reviewers. Maria Beltran stated, "I highly recommend this book." Gisela Dixon said, “I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the life of a person presented in such a wonderful manner." Another said, "Brutally honest. I was touched by the bittersweet conclusion that sometimes purpose and happiness are only found through great tragedy ..."

Passions in Paris:

Blackwood's first romantic fiction novel is a sweeping saga written in the tradition of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and 'What Dreams May Come'. It has been compared to Erich Segal's 'Love Story' and Nicholas Sparks' 'The Notebook'.

'Passions in Paris' likewise received rave reviews. Linkk Kula Kane said, "Passions in Paris I think stands its ground with these other powerful romantic stories like 'The Notebook' by Nicolas Sparks." Reader Fred Pifer stated that “'Passions', is a fascinating book of a love story that seemed to be written with me in mind. In the book 'Love Story' by Erich Segal, he told of a deep abiding love story that reminds me of Cullen and Joy’s in Ms. Blackwood’s book, but the twists of intrigue and mystery that she adds keeps the reader on edge throughout."

Information on all of Blackwood's work is available at Blackwood's site. Readers can download paperback and Kindle versions of her books at Amazon sites worldwide, including Amazon.ca. 'Rusty Blackwood, A 3 Part Retrospect' is available at her website and on YouTube.

Bestselling Author Dr Barbara Becker Holstein Announces Two New Books, Three Industry Awards For New Film, I Had An Affair With My Husband

2026-09-05T10:55:28.872-05:00

Dr. Holstein, an internationally known Positive Psychologist, is the creator of The Enchanted Self ®, a positive psychology method for happiness, and is a pioneer in Selfies as Film.

Bestselling author and award-winning film maker Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein has announced her latest film, I Had An Affair With My Husband, has received 3 new awards. The awards were bestowed by the Mei International Film Festival, The Los Angeles Short Film Awards And the Singapore Film and Script Festival

A special screening of the film was held July 1, 2026 at Basie Center Cinemas Theatre in Red Bank, NJ and opened to rave reviews, due to the film's clever and emotionally rewarding premise.

“We are excited about this film as it explores many facets of marriage in a way that is not only funny but can inform people about the many aspects of having a partner,” Holstein stated. “In fact, many people have been suggesting we develop this film into a series that continues to present issues that couples deal with in interesting and humorous ways. Both my husband and I look forward to developing it as a series.”

She also announced two new books, now available in print form on Amazon.

The King of the Numbers is a children's book that stresses the importance of the number zero. While zero can mean nothing, it is also one of the most important numbers, as when paired with other numbers, it greatly increases the value of the paired number. This gives Zero, the hero of the story, his well-deserved reputation as the King of numbers,

The second book, Poetry by Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein, was penned by Dr. Holstein as a young person during a fragile and exciting period in her life. In her words, "poetry tells us in a few words what we feel and see often in our lives that we don't really know how to put into words."

“I wrote the first drafts many years ago,” she said, “and then put them aside. Recently I decided to make them public.”

Both books are now available at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Barbara-Becker-Holstein/author/B001JXEZ8U.

Eric Madeen's Bestselling Book, Water Drumming In The Soul: A Novel of Racy Love in the Heart of Africa, Available In E-book Format At No Charge August 31 Through September 2, 2026

2026-08-28T09:24:53.788-05:00

Madeen is a Senior Associate Professor of Modern Literature at Tokyo City University and Lecturer at Keio University. He writes cross-genre but terms himself as unclassifiable and has penned a number of Amazon bestsellers.

Eric Madeen's bestselling work of literary fiction, 'Water Drumming In The Soul: A Novel of Racy Love in the Heart of Africa,’ will be available at no charge in ebook form August 31 through September 2, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW.

'Water Drumming In The Soul' is a transformative journey inspired by Madeen's adventures in Africa.

In this fiery tale set in steamy equatorial Africa, Peace Corps volunteer David Fields is on mission: to build a medical dispensary in a village where spells are cast on enemies and fear of a witch doctor reigns. David seldom has his bearings – cultural or geographical – and must fight a cocktail of tropical maladies as well as social taboos as he throws himself into work. Until he meets Assam. Captivated by her water drumming, her playing the stream as a drum, David is drawn to her early on and becomes the hunter captured by the game. And what a rollicking game of love it is - with a tension or excitement between them that never dissipates, until the haunting end.

In the same manner as bestselling travel author Paul Theroux, Eric Madeen has never stopped seeing himself as a Peace Corps volunteer. Just after graduating from the University of Arizona, he helped to build a primary school complex in Francophone Gabon, Africa. In an equatorial village ringed by rainforest, his journey turned unexpectedly personal: he went hunting for monkeys to fill the cooking pot, got lost for three days, and came home with more than a story. It was there, in that wild landscape, that he fell in love—and the experience would later be transformed into fiction, giving his first novel, Water Drumming in the Soul, a vivid, lived-in reality.

Readers and reviewers have expressed high praise for 'Water Drumming In The Soul.' One Amazon reviewer said, "Water Drumming in the Soul” not only tells a passionate love story, but it also delves into thought-provoking themes like culture, identity, and the power of human connection. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that'll have you laughing, crying, and everything in between. This isn't your typical love story! This novel is so well-written and full of unexpected twists you’ll keep flipping those pages. Plus, the characters are well-developed -- rounded in their complexities -- that you'll feel like you've known them forever. So, if you're ready for a wild and adventurous ride, grab a copy of this modern-day classic ASAP!"

Zaheer Baber, Professor of Sociology at University of Toronto, said, "Madeen's storytelling prowess shines through and resonates with authenticity. The characters, particularly Assam, are beautifully developed, challenging traditional stereotypes as in presenting a more nuanced and genuine portrayal of African culture.”

Elizabeth Montano, author of The Eternal Dawn Trilogy, called it "a novel so beautifully and realistically written I found it on par with works by whom we consider masters … Hemingway definitely comes to mind."

Eric Madeen writes cross-genre, and is the author of several books:

Tokyo-ing! - This is an apt title for this bestselling trio of tales chiming with anyone even slightly interested in Asia’s or rather the world’s most dynamic megalopolis and its glazing of layers – be they cultural or taking-wing exuberant. Madeen does deep dives in three fascinating directions and voices, including the persona in first-person female. Then doesn’t let readers come up for air because they don’t want to - until the delicious end.

Asian Trail Mix: True Tales From Borneo to Japan is a bestselling travelogue mixing it up on the Asian Trail in a voice that's by turns personal, passionate and ohhhh so very soulful. "So I get up at dawn and marvel at fog burning off into mist tumbling down like the finest mosquito netting of silk. The hills beyond the rivers' confluence, like shoulders of a woman undressing, the way the misty shroud lifts off feminine curves, higher and higher ... I tingle all over, feeling there on Borneo the dream tug of Joseph Conrad's fiction, notably his early Malaya Quartet therein Lord Jim."

By turns literarily pathbreaking and intimate, this smorgasbord of travel essays scales down the sprawl of Asia by focusing on the unique and revelatory in gemmy prose.

Tennis Clubbed, Snubbed and Rubbity-Dub Dubbed is his third novel. In historically rich Yokohama, where Captain Perry and his Black Ships cracked open Japan, the wicked shiver of the tennis snub in the postmodern present pits David Adams against K: a puffed-up xenophobic tyrant who rules over the courts of a club that has as its anthem, ironically, the promotion of international friendship, modelled on the world’s 2nd oldest tennis club on whose board Madeen had the privilege of serving.

‘Water Drumming In The Soul: A Novel Of Racy Love in the Heart of Africa' will be available at no charge in e-book format August 31 through September 2, 29, 2026 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Eric-Madeen/author/B08VGRNJVW.

Eric Madeen is available for media interviews and can be reached at ericmadeen777@gmail.com. All of his books are available at Amazon. More information is available at his website at https://ericmadeen.org.

Madeen has been featured in several radio interviews and podcasts, notably Fascinating People, Fascinating Places, about the late Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Albert Schweitzer and his creation of a durable hospital in Lambarene, Gabon. Madeen’s investigative feature of the polymath Schweitzer and his enduring hospital won him a Profile in Citizenship from Peace Corps Worldwide. Madeen once made his living copywriting for what was then the world's largest ad agency Dentsu, for clients as diverse as Mazda, Subaru, Canon, Konica, Nikko Hotels International and Sony.

Just out of the University of Arizona which made him as a penman, Madeen served for 2.3 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Francophone Gabon, Africa, where he built a primary school complex in an equatorial village surrounded by rainforest, a mind-blowing experience which inspired his first novel, Water Drumming in the Soul, shelfed not only in the Permanent Collection of Books by Peace Corps Writers in the Library of Congress but many readers’ hearts.

Bestselling Author Jody Sharpe Announces New Angel Story On Angel Stories YouTube Channel, New Audiobook Version Of Bestselling Novel, 20 Moon Road

2026-08-25T08:51:16.036-05:00

Submitted angel stories will be considered for Sharpe's YouTube channel, Angel Stories, and the story may be fictionalized and included in her next book.

Bestselling author Jody Sharpe has announced a new angel story for her Angel Stories channel on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/@jodysharpe6337. In this real life angel story Judy, "met an an angel at an AA meeting but at the time he appeared in human form," Sharpe stated. "Her sister was struggling with drug abuse. The stranger, a man she didn’t know, gave her a message that her sister would be okay.

"It took thirty years for Judy to tell the story. It’s a story of intervention which is the greatest gift to give anyone suffering from drug abuse. Intervention helped someone in my own family find strength and resolve.

"Judy’s story is one of sisterly love. She cared enough for her sister’s well-being and went the loving distance to help. That’s what love is all about isn’t it? We meet these angels so many times not knowing they are real angels at the time until they have gone from sight. They help us grow with whispers of encouragement and hope. They let us fall when we need to learn."

Sharpe also announced the release of the audiobook version of her bestselling novel, 20 Moon Road, An Angel's Tale. 20 Moon Road is book 5 in the Mystic Bay Series. More audiobooks will follow shortly.

Jody has been collecting angel stories for a very long time. Some of these stories are her own experiences, while others were submitted to her. Many find their way into her bestselling books. Sharpe was a 1st Place Winner of the 2023 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest Award for Fiction For Adult Readers - Novellas, and the 2024 National Association of Press Women's Communications Contest For Fiction - Novellas.

Her latest book, New Angel In Town, is based on stories she has heard throughout the years. These fictionalized stories are embedded throughout the book.

In this book, a secret still lies in Mystic Bay, California. Angels live as humans there. But more miracles happen when Angel Ken and others help Ron, a new angel, as he swoops into town. Guardian Angel Ron flies down to live a human existence to make sure his charge, Evan, a boy in foster care, finds a forever home.

Meanwhile, writer Noah Greenstreet is writing a film showcasing the townsfolk’s angel encounters. With twists and turns and a bully to turn around, Angel Ron has to decide if he will stay in the harmonious town. Will Evan find a forever home? Will love and goodwill help Angel Ron decide to stay? With angels at the helm, readers ride along on another miraculous story of the angels of Mystic Bay.

Readers and reviewers have lavished praise on the new book. One Amazon reviewer said, "Just when I thought I couldn't love the Mystic Bay series more, Jody released the most breathtaking installment yet!

Special Needs Children followed her children's book about angels, When The Angel Sent Butterflies.

Aaron’s War, Bestselling Novel By Richard McMaster, Will Be Available At No Charge In Ebook Form August 19 And 20 2026 At Amazon

2026-08-17T10:20:04.182-05:00

Aaron's War is an extraordinary work that will likely take its place as one of the best WWII historical fiction novels ever written.

Bestselling author Richard McMaster has announced that the ebook version of Aaron’s War: A Novel of War and Devotion will be available at no charge in ebook form August 19th and 20th, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU.

Michael Punke, #1 New York Times best-selling author of ‘The Revenant’, called the book "a compelling and complex story of World War II."

Richard McMaster is an American novelist whose fiction focuses on how ordinary people overcome extraordinary obstacles. His novels often blend elements of historical fiction, psychological drama, suspense, mystery, romance and themes of faith, identity, and personal transformation. A recurring message throughout McMaster's work is that adversity shapes character. His protagonists are typically ordinary people facing moral dilemmas, loss, trauma, or major life transitions, with stories emphasizing perseverance, hope, and redemption rather than action alone.

'Aaron's War' details the struggles of a Jewish soldier's experience in WWII. It explores coming-of-age, antisemitism, forbidden marriage, PTSD, and substance abuse, resulting in a powerful story that takes the reader's breath away with its dramatic tale of love, bravery, and sacrifice.

Aaron Vanko, an innocent Iowa farm boy, faces the ultimate test that countless veterans have grappled with throughout history: the harrowing decision to take another's life in the name of duty.

But just as Aaron prepares to embark on this mission, a stunning revelation threatens to upend his entire world: he learns of his Jewish heritage, a discovery that shatters his sense of identity and his relationship with the love of his life.

Despite his fears, Aaron moves ahead, fueled by an unwavering sense of duty and patriotism. But now, he must wage war on two fronts - battling the enemy outside who seek to eradicate the Jewish race, and the inner with ethical dilemma that rages within his own soul.

Aaron is taken on an unforgettable journey of self-discovery, courage, and sacrifice, as he confronts the darkest corners of human nature and emerges forever changed.

Readers and reviewers have praised 'Aaron's War'. USA Today bestselling author Holly Roberts called Aarons War, "A coming of age story that grips your soul and takes you on a thought-provoking journey." Tom Porter, author of All I Need To Know About Business I Learned From A Duck stated, "An engaging, informative and thought-provoking tale of survival, love and faith. Make room for Richard McMaster on your list of up-and-coming authors." Lynn M. Safris said, “The descriptions and details given throughout this author's writing draw the reader into each page, making Aaron's journey feel like their own. I believe this book would appeal to a wide audience of readers. I truly enjoyed reading Aaron's War and I highly recommend this book."

The ebook version will be available at no charge at Amazon August 19 and 20 at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Richard-McMaster/author/B01LDIJ2QU.

Another novel, 'The Attic', achieved bestseller status in both contemporary fiction and psychology thrillers.

One reader asked, “Who would play the part of Byron in the movie? Who would play Sybie?”

One of the principal characters in 'The Attic', Sybie, was fashioned after a real high school classmate of the author who suffered from a rare genetic disorder. Some students called her Tic Toc because of the way she walked with her brace. Years later she meets Byron, a former classmate. She is a changed woman. They marry, but tragedy strikes before they can even enjoy a honeymoon. When Byron faces assault charges and a lawsuit, he flees to Chicago to assume a fake identity and new image. He takes a low-level computer support job with an international investment banking company where he discovers the CEO has embezzled over 26 million dollars.

When Byron Kelly becomes a whistleblower on the run from the FBI, he hides in the attic of a dying old man, Henry Steel. Byron cares for the old man and learns he is estranged from his daughter over the death of her mother, his wife, because of family secrets he has kept from her.

Fans of psychological thrillers will find themselves captivated by the book as best-selling author Richard McMaster masterfully combines heart-pounding suspense with beautifully crafted characters that possess complex motivations and rich backstories. The novel's emotional depth draws readers in, allowing them to become emotionally invested in the lives of the characters. The intricate plot requires close attention to detail and careful piecing together of clues, heightening the anxiety and tension with each turn of the page. McMaster's skillful storytelling keeps readers on the edge of their seats, ensuring that "The Attic" is a memorable and thrilling experience from start to finish.

One reviewer said, “Absolutely loved this book. I don’t want to give anything away, but this was the best book I have read in a long time. Haven’t done anything else for the last 24 hours. Just wonderful!”

Another reviewer commented, "You wrote a novel about a man with a past so messy, he literally hides in a stranger’s attic while trying to do the right thing. It’s emotional. Unconventional. Thoughtful. There’s rare disease, ethical drama, and a wildly underrated whistleblower story wrapped in quiet literary suspense."

In a story about Richard McMaster, printed by The Hudson Weekly, Dennis Keller said, "There have been multiple authors that have made a significant contribution to the world of literacy. In the current era, we have come across several first-time authors with the gift of writing. Richard McMaster is an accomplished author whose works have been praised for their depth, complexity, and emotional resonance."

Keller continued with "Richard McMaster never falls into the trap of presenting his characters as simplistic archetypes or caricatures, instead allowing them to emerge as fully formed individuals with their unique voices and perspectives.

"In addition to his skillful characterization, he is also a master of plot and pacing. The structure of his novels keeps readers engaged and invested in the story while also allowing for moments of quiet reflection and contemplation. The author’s writing is often described as 'page-turning' or 'gripping,' but it is also imbued with a sense of thoughtfulness and depth that elevates his work beyond mere genre fiction."

'Voyage Of Life,' is an exploration of overcoming obstacles that leaves readers deeply moved and inspired. It is a must-read for anyone seeking an inspirational journey through the lens of the "Baby Boomer" generation. A captivating love story, 'Voyage Of Life' captures the essence of the coming-of-age 60's with a twist, as the story is told as Thomas Cole’s Voyage of Life paintings are portrayed by the women woman Sean Buchanan loves; childhood, youth, manhood, and old age. The paintings are a metaphor for Sean’s life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood turn turbulent in youth, and then early in manhood, the rocky shores of manhood open to a promising sky of old age when he believes that his one true love left him for another man.

The breathtaking story also unfolds mysteries around losing a father, mother, wife, son, and friends and Sean’s perseverance in life and, in the end, reuniting with his first love.

McMaster considers Voyage of Life to be one of his signature works. Readers and reviewers agree.

One reader’s review stated, “While reading, you will smile, you will hesitate thinking, oh no, and you will cry, but there is a surprise toward the end. This is one of the best romantic books I have read.”

He is also the author of 'A Love Divided By Time', described as "one part The Notebook, one part suspenseful psychopath story, and one part Somewhere in Time." In that book, Forrest and Allie believed they found love in a previous life and being born again was a game of hide-and-seek to find each other in plain sight, seeking their better halves, united and whole. When tragedy strikes, Forrest makes a pact to find her killer, raise their daughter and find peace by joining her in the ever after.

Bestselling Author Gina Iafrate Announces No Charge Download Of Ebook Version Of Her Award-Winning Novel, The English Professor

2026-08-15T08:28:25.245-05:00

Award winning author Gina Iafrate has announced that the ebook version of her award-winning novel, The English Professor, will be available at no charge August 18 and 19, 2026 at Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Gina-Iafrate/author/B00MRZ8Y9A.

Big Ears Jack And Friends By Bestselling Author Earl Vincent de Berge Compared To Aesop's Timeless, Best-Loved Animal Tales By Reviewers

2026-08-11T09:39:10.240-05:00

'Big Ears Jack and Friends' is a collection of tall tales featuring extraordinary animals and plants from the Sonoran Desert of Baja California that can bring young people's love for nature to life, generate interest in wildlife, and foster respect for environmental issues.

'Big Ears Jack and Friends', Earl de Berge's bestselling book for young readers, achieved finalist status in the Children's Book International Book Awards, in both the Fable and Nature categories recently. In June, a reviewer from Reader's Views drew parallels with Aesop's Fables and a number of other classic animal stories for young readers.

"Big Ears Jack and Friends by Earl Vincent de Berge is a reading experience similar to Aesop's Fables, in that each chapter is a story featuring an animal, plant, or insect as the main character, with a life lesson for the reader at the end of each adventure/chapter." Rachel Denning wrote.

Denning went on to say, "The stories are similar to what parents or older readers will likely have seen on TV when they were younger, and with the setting being in the desert, if you think of The Lion King, The Wild Thornberrys, or Wild Kratts, you'll get a good idea of what to expect. I like that there is a range of various types of characters, some I knew and others I learned about, and how they have their individual stories, but then are found joining in on other characters' stories as well. As an 'older' reader myself and having read a few of the stories to my preteen kids, I can say they have all been enjoyed and appreciated, regardless of the age gap between us. The messages within the stories are timeless, needing to be remembered and reiterated to members of every generation."

'Big Ears Jack and Friends,' is a captivating story that weaves together a delightful tapestry of tales inspired by the flora and fauna of Baja California's Sonoran Desert. This enchanting collection introduces readers to a vibrant cast, including clever coyotes, playful foxes, whimsical boojum trees, and elusive bobcats. Each story not only entertains but also educates, making it a rare gem that sparks curiosity and wonder about the natural world.

These personalized plants and animals appeal especially to youngsters, capturing their imagination and making the stories engaging and relatable. The narratives’ charm keeps young readers hooked, inviting them to explore the adventures of these lively characters. Each fable is built with an educational backdrop that teaches children about this fascinating ecosystem. Through storytelling, the book subtly introduces concepts related to nature, biodiversity, and environmental awareness. Readers learn about the characteristics and behaviors of these animals, fostering a deeper appreciation for wildlife and their habitats.

Among Jack’s friends readers will meet Nosey and Wag, mischievous coyote brothers; Blue Dasher, a racing dragonfly; the Kangaroo Rat Chorus; tree-lizard Boris; Giro the dust devil; Hawk Conchita and the red ants; Lady Treble Clef, a watchful cactus; Paulina, the puma poet; Diana the musical tarantula; Lady Chrona, a sea lion who dreams of flying; a scheming sea gull named Swindler; the beautiful bobcat Miss Mucha Purrs; Mr. Shellie the chatterbox tortoise; and Young Red Fox and his sweet love, the beautiful rabbit Adorna -- along with many others.

Earl's own adventures in Baja California ignited a profound passion for the desert’s extraordinary wildlife, driving him to share these magical stories with young readers. His own deep appreciation for the Sonoran Desert’s unique plants and animals inspired him to create a chapter book that invites youngsters to explore, learn, and dream, making every tale a gateway to adventure. Older readers enjoy the fun and charm of the stories and find joy in reading them aloud to younger kids.

‘Big Ears Jack and Friends' is available in print and ebook form on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Earl-Vincent-de-Berge/author/B09R6M1G4Y.

In a review of 'Big Ears Jack,' an AWA reviewer said, "One of the book’s greatest strengths is its world-building. De Berge weaves the flora and fauna of Baja California into the narrative, making the setting feel like a character itself. Talking cacti, dust devils playing tag, and wise desert tortoises enrich the stories, placing readers in an enchanting ecosystem where the line between reality and fantasy blurs.

"The themes of community, creativity, and environmental respect run throughout the collection. Young readers will enjoy the magical adventures and witty dialogue, while adults will appreciate the underlying messages about cooperation, individuality, and harmony with nature."

Reviewer Essien Asian said, "The author presents educational information in detail while using the dialogue between the characters to stimulate young readers' imaginations. The mix of strategically placed (illustrations), an engaging narrative style, and thought-provoking subplots regarding these animals ensures that young readers will learn vital lessons in diplomacy and survival from 'Big Ears Jack and Friends' while enjoying a captivating adventure.”

In his review on Amazon Mark Winheld stated, "If you're up for more fantasy fun, you'll be tempted by chapter titles like 'Sheriff Diamondback and the Egg-Thieving Coyotes,' or 'Dianna the Musical Tarantula,' or 'Swindler (a thieving seagull) and Big Umpo the Sea Lion,' or 'Lady Treble Clef and Dust Devils Rescue a Javelina Family,' and many more."

'Big Ears Jack And Friends' is available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/stores/Earl-Vincent-de-Berge/author/B09R6M1G4Y and other online book retailers. More information is available at https://www.earldeberge.com/otherbooks.
