Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, And Vinny Appice
Give Epic Performance On Previously Sold Out Live Album Recorded In 1982

Individually Numbered, Limited Edition Of 3000 Copies
Available Exclusively From Metal Club On January 11

LOS ANGELES -- The second coming of Black Sabbath began in 1979 when founding members Tony Iommi, Terry "Geezer" Butler, and Bill Ward were joined by Ronnie James Dio, who added his fiery and powerful voice to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group's crushing mix of iconic riffs, gloomy grooves and doom-soaked imagery. The Dio-fronted line-up would release two iconic metal albums in consecutive years--1980's Heaven And Hell and 1981's Mob Rules (with Vinny Appice on drums)--before arriving at London's Hammersmith Odeon in January of 1982 for one of their most legendary shows.

BLACK SABBATH: LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH ODEON spotlights Sabbath as they storm through 14 of the Dio-era's best including "Neon Knights," "Heaven And Hell," "Children Of The Sea" and "Voodoo." The band also performs several pre-Dio classics including "Paranoid," "Iron Man," and a white-hot version of "War Pigs." This epic concert will be released on 180 gram vinyl as a limited edition set of 3000 copies on January 11 exclusively for Metal Club. Congratulations are in order for Paramore!

2011-01-06T20:24:00.000+00:00

Last night Paramore won the award for 'favourite rock band' at the peoples choice awards! Paramore won the award for the second year in a row. This year the competition was intense, but Paramore managed to oust Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Nickleback and Daughtry to win the award! Just reading Taylor York's blog post on Paramore.net sums up how much it really means to the band.

He wrote and I quote "AAAHHHH!!! NO WAY!!! WE JUST WON "FAVORITE ROCK BAND" AT THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS!!! You guys seriously have no clue how unbelievably speechless we feel. We could not possibly ask for a better group of dedicated and supportive people to call our fans. We don't deserve you and will be incredibly thankful for you and your involvement in this Paramore family for the rest of our lives. THANK YOU!

He goes on to thank the fans and everyone who voted for them. Its nice to see that bands still care about the fans and are thankful for what they have!

So to sum it up, congratulations Paramore, well deserved and hopefully you'll be well up there next year to win it a third year in a row!

See you all later

Avenged Sevenfold live in Dublin!

2011-01-02T14:21:00.000+00:00

Last November 8th I was lucky enough to see my favourite band Avenged Sevenfold live for the first time, it was an unreal experience! I got into the mosh pit, which was incredible and despite the Olympia theater only holding around 2,000 people it was still a great atmosphere! They were supported by a local band called Xerosun who were very good, they got the crowd going anyway and sang 'ace of spades' which is a great song!

A good friend of mine took this video of Xerosun at avenged sevenfold!

Next up was the main attraction of the night, Avenged Sevenfold! My god were they worth the wait! Absolutely fantastic, best night of my life! The played all their greatest songs and even came out for an encore!

The track listing is as follows:

Nightmare
Critical Acclaim
Welcome To The Family
Beast And The Harlot
Buried Alive
So Far Away
Afterlife
God Hates Us
Bat Country
Almost Easy (this included a 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' intro)

That brings an end to the main set here are the two encores:

Seize The Day
Unholy Confessions (this had an 'eternal rest' interlude)

Heres another video by the same person with highlights of the whole show!

All in all it was a great show and if they're ever coming to your town or city you should definitely go and check them out. What surprised me most was how great showmen they all are! They really appealed to the crowd throughout the whole concert and M. Shadows is a great front-man!

Keep rocking

my music tastes

2010-12-24T00:32:00.000+00:00

Well hello, my name is Johnlally! and i'v decided to set up this blog about my music tastes (only the best heavy metal, rock, hard rock etc.) and I'll do my best with it :) hope most of you enjoy the same stuff i like :)
Anyways without further ado here are some of my favourite bands :)

AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Avenged are a great heavy metal band from Huntington beach California! I was lucky enough to have seen them live on the 8th of November last. It was my first time seeing them live (first of many hopefully) but it just wasn't the same without the rev Jimmy Sullivan. However I know mike Portnoy (dream theater drummer) played a show the rev himself would have been proud of! Below is one of the truly great avenged sevenfold songs!

nightmare from the album nightmare!

BLACK SABBATH

Black sabbath are an adept heavy metal group hailing from Birmingham England. The band consists of Ozzy Osbourne contributing the vocals, Tony Iommi playing lead Guitar, Geezer butler on bass and bill ward playing the drums. Below is a video of my favourite Black Sabbath song and possibly my favourite song of all time! Enjoy!

Paranoid from the album Paranoid

GUNS N' ROSES

Guns n' roses are an awesome Hard rock band originating in Hollywood California. Although the band has experienced many line up changes since there formation in 1985 the current line up is as follows: Axl Rose (Vocals) Dizzy Reed (Keyboard) Tommy Stinson (Bass) Chris Pitman (also on keyboards) Richard Fortus (Rhythm guitar) Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (Lead guitar) Frank Ferrer (Drums) and DJ Ashba (also on lead guitar.) Below is a fantastic song from the very early days of GnR.

Sweet child o' mine from the album Appetite for destruction

THE OZZY OSBOURNE BAND

After Ozzy was fired from Black Sabbath he made his own band then called the "blizzard of ozz" although now its known as the Ozzy Osbourne band. The current line up is as follows: Ozzy Osbourne (lead vocals) Adam Wakeman (keyboards) Rob Nicholson (Bass) Tommy Clufetos (Drums) and Gus G (lead guitar.) Below is a great and very touching song written and released in the early 90's. Enjoy

Mama i'm coming home from the album No more tears

QUEEN

Queen are possibly the greatest band of all time and if Freddy Mercury was still alive they would probably still be going strong to this day! I'm going to write about them when they were all together as a quartet! The band were as follows: Freddy Mercury (Vocals) Brian May (guitar) John Deacon (Bass) and Roger Taylor (Drums.) Below is an epic song by the greatest rock band to ever have lived! Enjoy!
