Hey guys, been so long here I know...since management changed it's been flat out work in a way I never expected. I think it's good as in a way I do feel I need to play catch up for poor prior decsions.

The things that make it good are really good, but I admit it changes the 'color' of it all... to take it to the next level all of a sudden theres endorsements and lawyers and corporate stuff that ultimately brings me closer to my goals of doing Z2 in a big way, but it also affects my writing...

I found as a reaction to the complications of decon and the sheer bulk of work thats been going on (seriously, it's insane) my writing ended up going in 3 ways recently:

1) A very commercial sounding (for the most part) but beautiful and melencholic album full of easy to digest dev songs...Epicloud. I don't know why it came out, but it did, so I'm going to get it out of my system

2) Casualties of Cool: a duo with myself and Che (ki)... it sounds like haunted Johnny cash songs. late night music, completely isolated sounding and different than anything I've done. Che sings most of the leads, and it's probably the truest reflection of who I am in life at this point. Trying to release it in tandem with Epicloud.

3) Z2 epic epic epic, complicated, musical, sci-fi, immense expense, the goal of it all I suppose.

Lost focus on Ghost 2, but mainly because I wanted to release it and everyone got their shit in a knot about it...so I'm trying to find a way to get it out for free, but thats a bit dicey with folks too.

I do understand why things need to be monetized, it's expensive and everyones on salary and each month is a struggle, so box sets, dvds , vips etc are pretty important to the big picture. I still feel embarrased about it all though and fully advocate not being obliged to buy it if you're unsure... the bigger things get, you'd be suprised at how much control you need to give up just to stay musically creative...

Once the dust settles a bit (a year?) I hope to be able to 'give back' a bit with free stuff and everything...

Epicloud is a real stormer though, it sounds like a beautiful army... summer music, very little metaphor... I needed that in a big way...

Epicloud is very shiny and intense, I do like it very much... It'll be just what the set needs and again, a perfect bridge to Z2

Obviouser someone asked about... I'm still planning the rig for that one... Again, the slower I can take things, the better, however if there's multiple things on the go, it seems as if it's rapid. I just write a lot.

Epicloud was effortless, it's been waiting for an outlet for years. Of the 8 casualties songs, I like 4...so in time...

Ghost - Quelques infos sur le nouvel album

Lors d'une interview donnée récemment, un des Nameless Ghouls du groupe Ghost a annoncé que la plupart des chansons du successeur de Opus Eponymous sont déjà écrites. Le musicien cagoulé en a profité pour livrer quelques infos sur cette production très attendue. Tout est très mystérieux bien entendu. Jugez vous-même:

"Most of the material has been written already. Throughout the production and writing, weve been using the word divine a lot. Whereas with the first album, the sound was slightly wooden, we want the new album to be stone and golden in terms of being lavished and divine. So we are trying to paint an even more solemn religion and theres all sorts of dramatic steps forward. The first album is about the arrival of the anti-Christ, about a coming darkness. The new album will about a current darkness, the presence of the devil, how it relates to divinity and how its futile you grasp whatever is divine."

Les suédois ont conscience de la pression qui les attend après le succès de leur premier album mais ils ne veulent pas se reposer sur leurs lauriers comme en témoigne la conclusion de l'interview:

"So I think well manage to do it; I think the new album will hopefully as confronting and polarizing as the first one. If its not, then it will be a waste of everyones time if we try to do 10 more Rituals.

Le groupe allemand rentrera en studio mi-mars pour l'enregistrement de son nouvel album. 10 titres sont d'ores et déjà composés, un autre est en travail, et une cover est également prévue...

"Since last November, we work on brand new songs. 10 compositions are completely done and already in pre-production. One more song is in progress. Also a cover version of a male, 'not-heavy-metal' artist is going to be finished within the next days.

Don't worry, it won't be another German 'Schlager' song... it will be 150 percent pure GRAVE DIGGER metal. Again we transferred the spirit of the '80s into the sound of 2012.

Beginning mid-March, we start recording the new masterpiece again in the Principal Studios in Münster and it should be finished by end of May. The cover is also done already, focusing again on our 'reaper.'

In April, we'll tour Brazil for some more shows with our friends from BLIND GUARDIAN.

The release of the new album is scheduled for August 2012."

Le groupe unissant Mikael Åkerfeldt et Steven Wilson vient de signer chez Roadrunner Records. Le premier album, éponyme, du duo sortira le 24 avril !!

Steven Wilson : "If you'd asked me three months ago about the music, I would have said, 'Expect the last thing you would expect.' But actually, now that 'Heritage' and 'Grace For Drowning' have come out, I don't think it's going to be that much of a shock to people, because it's almost like a third part of the trilogy, in a way. If anything, it's even more orchestral, even more stripped down, even more dark, twisted and melancholic but it certainly feels like it comes from the same place as 'Heritage' and 'Grace For Drowning', which indeed it does because it was written during the same period.

Mikael Åkerfeldt : Some of the music on this record I think is the most beautiful music I have participated on ever. There's some magical sections on there. Musically, I think we've created something earthy, a bit frightening, exhausting, profound and rather intense. All at the same time. I can safely say I don't know any other band or artist that sounds anything like Storm Corrosion. I guess that was also one of our goals, so to speak."

Un amendement UMP sanctionne la revente de billets de spectacle sans autorisation

PARIS La revente habituelle de billets sportifs ou culturels sans autorisation des exploitants sera passible de sanctions, selon un amendement UMP à une proposition de loi sur le régime d'assurance des sportifs adopté à l'unanimité lundi soir à l'Assemblée.
Il stipule notamment que "le fait de vendre, d'offrir à la vente ou d'exposer en vue de la vente (...) des titres d'accès à une manifestation sportive, culturelle ou commerciale ou à un spectacle vivant, de manière habituelle et sans l'autorisation du producteur, de l'organisateur ou du propriétaire des droits d'exploitation" est puni de 15.000 euros d'amende.
Cette peine sera portée à 30.000 euros en cas de récidive, précise le texte de l'amendement des députés UMP Eric Berdoatti, au nom de la commission des Affaires culturelles, et Michèle Tabarot.
"L'objectif est essentiel, puisqu'il s'agit de protéger les détenteurs de droits sur des manifestations culturelles ou des spectacles vivants et de supprimer une inégalité profonde entre le monde du sport et celui de la culture face aux risques, y compris d'ordre public, que fait peser le marché noir de la billetterie", font-ils valoir.
S'ils rappellent que l'Assemblée et le Sénat ont adopté des dispositions similaires dans le projet de loi sur la consommation, ces députés jugent "probable que ce projet de loi ne soit pas définitivement adopté avant la fin de la 13e législature". La navette parlementaire sur ce texte n'est pas achevée et l'ordre du jour du Parlement est chargé d'ici la fin des travaux, prévue le 9 mars.
La proposition de loi dans laquelle est incluse l'amendement devrait, elle, être définitivement votée dans les temps par le Parlement. Le gouvernement a en effet décidé de son examen en urgence (une seule lecture par chambre).
"Cet amendement vise à introduire au plus vite dans notre ordre juridique (...) une disposition qui fait consensus dans les deux assemblées parlementaires", ajoutent ses auteurs.
