Heaven and Hell Records are happy to welcome North Carolina doom metal band Dogbane into the fold.

This North Carolina five piece emerges on the scene with a nice slab of traditional heavy metal flavored doomy goodness. Sighting Trouble and Pentagram as two of the bands main influences, these southern gentlemen certainly proudly wear it on their sleeves. With a solid rhythm section, dual guitars, and the Halford-esque vocals of Jeff Neal, Dogbane have put together one strong debut effort.

The release is set for early December. Recorded and produced by Dogbane

and mastered by Gary Long (King Diamond, Solitude Aeturnus).

Artwork was created by Wayne Miller who is best known for his work on fiction horror novel covers.

These days the term "traditional heavy metal" is loosely used. Well one may ask "what is traditional heavy metal" and we simply respond with Dogbane.

Brazilian metallers SupreMa confirm new video clip and line-up changes

Brazilian power progressive metallers SupreMa proudly present their brand
new video “Nightmare” for one of the songs from the upcoming debut album
“Traumatic Scenes”. It’s the first video in the band’s history and it is
inspired by the works of famous Belgian artist René Magritte.

“Traumatic Scenes” is a conceptual album. Following this story, the fans
will travel between the real and supernatural world passing through
various phases of the human mind life. At the moment the band is
finalizing the production of the CD in Barulho Estudio, São Paulo.
Also, this week SupreMa confirmed the new drummer, Rafael Rosa (ex-Andre
Matos, Ancestral), the replacement of Helmut Quacken who worked at the
drum parts for “Traumatic Scenes”. According to the guitarist Douglas
Jen: “Rafael Rosa is the most full-fledged drummer that I have ever played
with! Besides his incredible talent, he is a very well organized and
dedicated person. Rafael recorded drums for the famous album of Andre
Matos band "Time to be Free". Since the very first rehearsals with him
everything has been calm and clear, and simply fantastic. Our chemistry
appeared with the first cords and I’m totally sure that he will surprise
all our fans in the forthcoming tour that will start in February 2012!”
SupreMa is: Pedro Nascimento - vocals, Douglas Jen - guitars, Gabriel
Conti - bass, Rafael Rosa – drums.
The band was established in the beginning of 2004 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
That same year the musicians released the debut EP “Spyeyes”. Since then
Suprema has gathered a legion of fans in its home country, has got a lot
of attention of special media and shared the stage with such renowned
bands as Primal Fear, Blaze Bayley (ex-Iron Maiden), Evergrey, Andre
Matos, Krisiun, Korzus and Americans Phantom Rockers among others. The
consolidation of the band's career came in 2008 with an extensive tour of
North and Northeast of Brazil. At the end of 2010 the musicians started
working at the material for their debut full-length.
“Traumatic Scenes” is planned to be released in the first week of

Mordax signs deal with Ultimhate Records

Danish thrash/death metal band Mordax has signed a record deal with Belgian Ultimhate Records for the release of the band’s debut album "Violence Fraud Treachery". The album will be released on CD in Europe (+Israel and Japan) and digitally in the rest of the world February 24th. The album was recorded in CB Studios and Redhead Recordings (Denmark) and mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Opeth, Edge of Sanity, etc.) at Unisound, Örebro, Sweden.

Guitarist Ole Grarup comments: “We are extremely happy and proud to announce our cooperation with Ultimhate Records. We have chosen to work with Ultimhate Records, because they are able to offer us the dedication and professionalism about metal that we were looking for.

We’re very happy with the final result of “Violence Fraud Treachery”, and working with Dan Swanö turned out to be great.

North Carolina's first ever heavy metal band Overlorde will finally see a full length release
'Medieval Metal Too' from Heaven and Hell Records on March 6th.

Overlorde was born in 1979 in Fayetteville, North Carolina,

by 1985 they released the legendary 'Medieval Metal' 4-song demo that sold 10,000 copies worldwide. Metalblade records then took notice and placed the band's song 'Keeper of the Flame' on their 'Metal Massacre XIII' compilation album that has sold over 40,000 copies worldwide. Overlorde then would slip into obscurity and lore. European interest in obscure cult metal particularly U.S. bands would revive much interest in the band. For many years the way fans could obtain the recordings were the poor quality downloads and Youtube.

Now after almost 30 years this material will finally be released on

CD with never before released tracks all fully re-mastered by Jaime King at The Basement Studios in North Carolina. For those who may not be familiar with the infamous Barry 'Thunderstick' Graham he played a leading role in the infancy of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the late 1970s. After a brief stint in Iron Maiden, Barry traded spots with drummer Clive Burr to set on the throne behind scene forerunners Samson. There Barry further evolved the maniacal persona known as Thunderstick. The hooded, s&m garb clad wild man caged with his drum kit caught the imagination of the press making Thunderstick a figurehead of the fledgling movement. After three albums and a number of singles with Samson, Thunderstick would break out of his cage in search of his own vision.

Glacier

Formed in 1979 the would release their first demo in 1984 leading to the first offical release of their self-titles EP in 1985 from Axekiller Records in France. The effort was competitive with their contemporaries like Fates Warning, Warlord, Queensryche, and early Dream Theater. Three years later the band would release another EP on their own with a bit of a stylistic change more towards Helstar, Titan Force and Liege Lord.

This Portland, Oregon band produced some of the greatest U.S. heavy metal but somehow where criminally overlooked for years. Eventually as with all great metal releases the collectors would stumble upon it and bring it to light once again.

Recently reunited U.S. cult metallers Blacksmith from Albany, N.Y. have been announced to appear on the annual Headbanger's Open Air Festival held in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany on July 26th-28th 2012. The 15th installment of the famed heavy metal gathering will mark the first ever European appearance for the band.

"We are very thankful for the chance to play such a great festival and could not think of a better place to make our European debut. Blacksmith have many fans in Europe and Germany especially; we have been asked several times over the years to come over and well now the time is right", says guitarist David Smith

Blacksmith recently made their first public appearance in two decades at this year's Progpower Festival in Atlanta, GA. to meet with fans and promote the recently released 'Strike While the Iron's Hot' CD through Heaven and Hell Records. Currently the band are working on all new original material for a 2012 release through Heaven and Hell Records; and also expect the unreleased album from 1990 'Time Out of Mind' to finally see a release in the coming year.

The band's debut record, which is expected to be released early 2012, is currently in the mixing process and will be mastered at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden by Jens Bogren (OPETH, JAMES LaBRIE, SOILWORK etc).

GOODBYE TO GRAVITY started as an unexpected mixture of former members from the heavy metal band THUNDERSTORM (which in its 12-year career opened for bands such as JUDAS PRIEST, MANOWAR, HELLOWEEN, RAGE, EVERGREY etc) and the winner of the 2008 TV casting show "Megastar" (Romanian equivalent of "Idol").

The two brothers currently reside in the Phoenix, Az area. They have been collaborating musically and artistically their entire lives with a slew of diverse side projects under their belts. After hearing their past collaborations in bands such as Darkness Before Dawn and Revenant, the members of DOAR felt they would be a perfect fit.
The band entered One Light Media in Las Vegas, NV early this October to record a brand new EP. The four songs contained within are some of the most aggressive, heart-wrenching songs DOAR has ever created.
Destruction Of A Rose are currently working diligently on a release date for the new material as well as rehearsing for live performances/tour. Keep a watchful eye on their social media sites for a sneak peak of the new songs and other updates coming in the very near future.

The track comes off the "Free Nation" album, which will be released in 2012.

In 2008 Csaba Zvekan joined Killing Machine to be their singer and songwriter. Soon after some recordings were circulating the band got some attention from serious promoters.

Killing Machine was the support act for AC/DC’s Black Ice Tour on the French leg in 2010. Festivals were played like Wacken 2010, Graspop Metal Meeting and Foire aux Vins. Performing together with with bands like AC/DC, Soulfly, Saxon, Europe and Alice Cooper etc. the band created some serious attention.

Csaba Zvekan left the band in March 2011 and signed with Rock N Growl to create his own band called Raven Lord.

Artwork was created by Wayne Miller who is best known for his work on fiction horror novel covers.

I was sitting next to Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) on the plane yesterday! He was flying from Grand Junction CO to Denver and then home to NJ. I originally saw him in the restaurant in the airport taking with some musicians and drinking wine (It was about 11:00am). I overheard that his house had flooded. It was upsetting to see the concern he had for some of the items in his basement. He has several comic books and Kiss memorabilia that are one of a kind and also several Skid Row collectables. I know many may not care about this as he is a celebrity and will more than likely bounce back, but I could tell it meant a lot to him and I know if I lost the memories of my family in a flood it would be just as upsetting. Plus much of this could be in a museum. Anyway I thought I would share.

NOMAD SON AND MORTALICUM: UK MINI TOUR, DOOMSDAY IV FESTIVAL WITH LIVE STREAMING.

On Friday February 11th Maltese doomsters NOMAD SON and Swedish doom-rockers MORTALICUM embark on a mini tour in UK, which will be the first visit for both bands in this country. NOMAD SON will headline all 3 dates: in Derby (@The Old Bell), Wakefield (@Snooty Fox) and London (@The Dome), while MORTALICUM will be their direct support act.

On Saturday February 12th the bands will play at the 4th edition of Doomsday festival, taking place in Wakefield at the Snooty Fox club. The event will be recorded with several professional cameras, mixed on the fly and streamed live through the venue's website: http://www.snootyfoxlive.com/.

The complete Doomsday IV festival will streaming from around 1.00 pm. MORTALICUM are scheduled to play between 9.00 and 10.00 pm (GMT, local UK time) and NOMAD SON will enter the stage afterwards.

NOMAD SON, traditional doom metal band formed in 2006 by Albert Bell (bass player of Maltese FORSAKEN), released their debut CD "First Light" through Metal On Metal Records in July 2008 (released also 1 year later on vinyl) and "The Eternal Return", in July 2010. Already the debut put their name on the international doom metal scene and the sophomore effort only consolidated their reputation as one of the best new traditional doom metal acts. The band has been making huge impact also with their live shows: apart from numerous gigs in their own country, NOMAD SON debuted abroad in July 2009 with a 5-dates tour in Holland and Germany (including Headbangers Open Air warm-up show concert), then in 2010 played at the prestigious doom metal festival, Doom Shall Rise in Germany (where for many people they were the highlight of the whole event) and later the same year headlined Pax Julia Metal Fest in Portugal. This Swedish band blends doom with good old heavy metal and hard rock, in a most convincing way, which grabbed the attention of Metal On Metal Records who signed the band and released their debut album "Progress Of Doom" in April 2010. Metal On Metal Records scheduled their next 2 releases for March 11th.
WISHDOOM "Helepolis" will be the Greek band's full-length debut (after the 2008 demo "Up The Hammers" and 2009 EP "Winds Of War"). The band crafted mature, complex but consistent songs with crushing riffage, stomping rhythms and deep, manly vocals. Their battle hymns are mostly mid-paced, blending epic heavy metal and some doom metal overtones, with themes that evoke the glory of ancient battles and myths. The release of WISHDOOM's debut album will coincide with the band's appearance at the 6th edition of Up The Hammers festival in Athens on March 11th, alongside While Heaven Wept, Sorcerer, Solstice, Ostrogoth, Emerald (CH), Jaguar, Hurlement, Martyr, Dawn Of Winter and Skull Fist.

The 5th full-length album of the US act CATCH 22 will be titled "Monumetal" and out on March 11th.

The band, led by the guitarist/vocalist T.J. Berry, has forged its own personal style of US power/thrash metal, not sounding quite like any other band, yet being heavily rooted in the '80s and '90s tradition. "Monumetal" is a very personal album with lots of passion emanating from the songs, but also with quite raw production, therefore it will be released through the RAW Metal division of Metal On Metal Records.
