Guillermo del Toro‘s is one of my favorite directors and I can’t wait to see Pacific Rim. Guillermo pays careful attention to scale and details. Check out the new photos for a little more into the horror sci-fi movie. Pacific Rim will be in theaters this upcoming July 12, 2013.

Vin Diesel has dropped another movie still of the upcoming Riddick movie. In this photo, Riddick is knocked down. You don’t see this too often. I know we will be seeing a lot more before Riddick is released this upcoming September 6.

In the September 6 release, written and directed by David Twohy, the infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty. Bud the Eisbiber races to the shop to deliver the fantastic results for his “friend.” Bud looks hysterically funny and the web series looks like a success. One more episode to go so let’s see what the big finale will be.

Nicholas Peet, a writer's assistant on "Grimm," penned and helmed the drama's webisodes that center on fan fave character Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) in the spice shop and of course also include his sweetheart, Rosalee (Bree Turner).

A&E‘s latest promo art for the Bates Motel TV series puts Norman and Norma Bates in the spotlight in a weird way. Mommy issues are bound to happen. The promo has in it’s tagline “A boy’s best friend is his mother.” This is creepy and twisted. This is perfect for the Bates Hotel TV series.

Starring Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga as Norman and Norma Bates, Bates Motel concerns the early days of Norman's life. Following the tragic death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal town of White Pine Bay, seeking a fresh start. As Norma and Norman get ensconced in their new home, they discover this town isn't quite what it seems, and the locals aren’t so quick to let them in on their secrets. But the Bates’ are done being pushed around and will do whatever it takes to survive – and will do whatever it takes to protect their own secrets.

Mondo always has something cool in the works. The latest is two posters of The Lost Boys. Phantom City Creative is responsible for the design. I am a huge fan of the original movie and it is a real classic horror movie for me.

PT Merantau Films and XYZ Films announce the start of production for THE RAID 2 (Indonesian title, THE RAID 2: BERANDAL), the sequel to the wildly popular international hit THE RAID (aka THE RAID: REDEMPTION). The film reunites writer/director Gareth Huw Evans with actor Iko Uwais, who will be reprising his starring role. Ario Sagantoro is producing for PT Merantau Films, along with Nate Bolotin, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian and Todd Brown for XYZ Films. Executive producing are Rangga Maya Barack-Evans and Irwan D. Mussry.

In addition to Uwais, the international cast includes Tio Pakusadewo, Putra Arifin Scheunamann, Julie Estelle, Alex Abbad, and Roy Marten. The film is currently lensing in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is scheduled to shoot for over 100 days. Line producing the film is Daiwanne Ralie with Matthew Flannery and Dimas Imam Subhono serving as directors of photography.

Picking up right where the first film ends, The Raid 2 follows Rama (Uwais) as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.

The Raid premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, where it took home the Audience Award in the Midnight Madness section. It went on to play at Sundance and SXSW before enjoying a theatrical release in the United States through Sony Pictures Classics. The film is approaching $15M in global box office.

“We’re incredibly excited to start the next chapter of The Raid story,” said XYZ Films. “Gareth introduced a rich and fertile world in the first film, and we’re eager to see him expand on that vision with Berandal.”

Matt Davis’ fans from “The Vampire Diaries” are definitely going to check out The Cult. I am definitely a fan of Robert Knepper and can’t wait to see his character. He plays the best villains. Let us see how The CW’s The Cult compares to The Following.

Meanwhile, in the parallel worlds of the show-within-a-show, the cult’s ruthless leader, Billy Grimm, is played by actor Roger Reeves (the double role of Billy/Roger is played by Robert Knepper (“Prison Break,” “Shameless”), a man whose primary agenda is winning back his former follower and lover, Kelly Collins, played by actress Marti Gerritsen (the double role of Kelly/Marti is played by Alona Tal (“Supernatural,” “The Killing”). The CW okay’d Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow) to create a new pilot for the sci-fi themed The Tomorrow People. Berlanti and Plec will be the executive producers for the new TV series. Phil Klemmer (Chuck) will also executive produce the series. The Tomorrow People is an adaptation of the cult British 1970s sci-fi series.

The Tomorrow People is about several young people from various parts of the world who are the next stage in human evolution. They can teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they fight the forces of evil.

This sounds way too much like X-Men and Heroes so I am a little on the fence on this one.

Frankenstein Theory is directed by Andrew Weiner and stars Kris Lemche, Heather Stephens, Eric Zuckerman, Brian Henderson, Joe Egender and Roger Morrissey. Image Entertainment will be releasing this horror movie to VOD and in selected theaters this March 1, 2013. The DVD release will be March 26, 2013.

Travis Romero‘s latest flick Treachery is looking very interesting. The upcoming horror movie stars Michael Biehn, Sarah Butler (I Spit On Your Grave), Caitlin Keats (Kill Bill 2), Matthew Ziff (Among Friends), Chris Meyer (Kiss of The Damned), Richard Gunn and Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (Dark Angel).

Synopsis: The film captures the controversy between Henry and his estranged son, Nathan. Reunited at a friend’s small wedding party in a remote cabin, Henry and Nathan have their usual awkward interactions. Nathan, accompanied by his girlfriend Cecilia, seeks his father’s approval. Cecilia’s presence only adds to Henry’s discomfort, forcing him to want to leave, but a storm hits, trapping them in the cabin and headed for the worst along with the rest of the group. None of them really realize what is truly in store.

Anchor Bay will be releasing Shadow People Blu-ray this upcoming March 15, 2013. I for one am looking forward to this release as the trailer really impressed me. Greg and Rachel rent a house and slowly uncover a mystery of ergo poisoning that has been plaguing the town for years. The cult activity has been kept a secret as well by Joe (Stelio Savante) and Paul (Richard Riehle). Greg soon goes missing leaving Rachel to unravel the mystery and save them both.

Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (Aliens in America), and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson.

This horror film will be available on Redbox this upcoming February 5, 2013. The trailer sets a good preview into what may be a good horror movie to watch.

Paul Hyett’s The Seasoning House is looking amazing. There is no official word yet on the US release but the horror film definitely has some potential. Dimension Films is about to release it’s upcoming sci-fi horror movie Dark Skies.
