I guess it could be worse (NSFW), but then we already know that it can always get worse when it comes to Hello Kitty. You know that the Hello Kitty x Playboy partnership announcement is just around the corner…

With Hello Kitty cocaine (and cocaine straw), Hello Kitty bong (and hk x LV bong), and Hello Kitty ecstacy you knew that there would be Hello Kitty pipes out there:

I guess we can feel somewhat relieved that these didn’t try to top the Hello Kitty Butthead pipe, but the reality is that this is simply another step into the depths of Hello Kitty hell…

Hello Kitty Fanatic Film Documentary

I debated whether or not I should post this, but I decided that if the fanatics here find something to focus on rather than this blog, that can never be a bad thing. Apparently, someone thought that it would be a good idea to make a documentary film about Hello Kitty fanatics (obviously someone that has never really had to spend much time with them in the past). I assume it’s going to be marketed as some type of real life horror film. Either that or it was special requested by the Department of Homeland Security to be used as the ultimate weapon to obtain confessions from suspected terrorists. Either way, it’s not going to be pretty and there will obviously be an unsuspecting film crew that will end up being scarred far deeper than they ever imagined for the rest of their lives.

Although they have requested that I help, I would much rather jump into a shallow pool of piranha that haven’t eaten for several months since that would be a lot more enjoyable and far less painful. Since they evidently want to experience the worst that this world has to offer, I figured that letting any fanatics reading this blog could obsess to them instead, thus giving me a slight reprieve from Hello Kitty Hell. This is what they wrote:

Let’s first say, your Hello Kitty Hell website is amazing. Secondly, I’m not an obsessed Hello Kitty fan, but I am a researcher/producer working on a documentary about Hello Kitty fanatics. Your website has become a great source of information for me, there’s some real gems! By that, I mostly mean the crazy people who are willing to scar, sunburn, brand and/or tattoo themselves with the Hello Kitty image, and that’s just to start with.

We’re going to be shooting in Japan, Hawaii, and all over the US in the next few months and would really like to interview you. Are you interested? I’m also curious if I could pick your brain for some of the sources on some of your posts? For example, the nightmarish goth-looking girl with the bow tattoo on her forehead, we’d really like to find her.

Please feel free to ask me as many questions about this project as you’d like. Essentially, it’s a feature film documentary about Hello Kitty and specifically focuses on the crazy strange obsessions of her fans.

I knew that things weren’t going to be good as soon as Hello Kitty duct tape came to existence. This was quickly confirmed with the Hello Kitty duct tape purse and then there was absolutely no doubt with the Hello Kitty duct tape dress. Of course, fanatics of the evil feline couldn’t leave bad enough alone and decided that a Hello Kitty duct tape bra was in order:

The sad (and extremely terrifying) part of all this is that you know it won’t end here and that the people at Sanrio are probably already at the drawing board thinking up a complete Hello Kitty duct tape fashion line. Somehow I have a feeling that 2012 isn’t going to provide much of an escape from Hello Kitty Hell…

While Hello Kitty fanatics don’t realize it, when they hang a Hello Kitty holiday wreath on their door, they are conveniently warning everyone in the neighborhood the terrible dangers that lurk inside. Believe me, you disregard this warning sign at your own peril:

If you ever walk up to a door and see anything even remotely resembling a Hello Kitty holiday wreath, remember that it’s not a welcome sign — it’s a sign that you should run as far and as fast as you can away before you get sucked into Hello Kitty Hell. if not, you may end up like the poor soul in the door window terrified at being trapped in a Hello Kitty torture chamber with no way to escape…

As if there was really a need to have one more reason to want this season to end as quickly as possible (see Hello Kitty Christmas trees and Hello Kitty ornaments if you had any doubts), this should quickly put the question to rest: a Hello Kitty Christmas music video that is guaranteed to haunt you long after the new year begins (you have been warned)

I did warn you. If you happened to not heed my advice, you now know that both your ears and eyes have experienced far more trauma than they were ever meant to endure which pretty much sums up the entire Hello Kitty Christmas experience.

Hello Kitty Poop Paste Toothpaste

Seriously, the people at Sanrio have gotten to the point that not only are they not even trying anymore, they are actively testing to see if there is anything that Hello Kitty fanatics won’t buy. Can you really come to any other conclusion when they are willing to release a product called “Who Pooped on My Toothbrush?” toothpaste in strawberry flavor?

I still don’t understand the fascination of Hello Kitty x Poo, but obviously Hello Kitty fanatics think it’s a good thing to brush their teeth with. What’s ultimately so sad is that no matter how hard Sanrio employees try, and no matter how ridiculous the products that they come up with, the fanatics will continue to see them as cute and buy them. Is it really any wonder that more and more are finding themselves in Hello Kitty Hell?

You know they have gone completely insane when they think that doing a double cover is something that’s acceptable. We know that Elle Taiwan editors have guzzled the Kool Aid with their December Elle Hello Kitty magazine double cover:

I guess it really shouldn’t surprise me that this would come from a country that has a Hello Kitty hospital and a Hello Kitty airline (along with the Hello Kitty airport), but it still disturbs me to no end…
