Neon colors for summer

This summer, i have noticed that bein colors have been one if the most Populars of all time. Neon pink, green, yellow, orange... I like neon pink plain by China glaze.

Nothing prettier then a plain color. Unfortunately, in my opinion, designs in nails are so over done.

What is your favorite neon color this summer?

This summer i started with this nail design. Gentle, but still popping. I used a yellow by zoya called bekka. I then used an orange nail art utensil. I hope you try this design. Please post you pictures if this design.

Valentine Hearts

So I have decided to follow up with a valentine design... and another one to come along with this one. I will have to set up a schedual to keep my pages updated and I am so sorry that at the moment everything is wacky right now. But I did do a tutorial on the youtube an here it is.
I hope you enjoy this video. It was a inspiration to one of the valentine gift bags in target and desided to recreat this on my nails. AND THE BEST PART... it works just as well on lon nails as in short ones.

Essie "POUF DADDY"

Today I decided to try this new polish I have just purchased. It was by Essie nail polish. The name is POUF DADDY. I love the red shade. Not to dark nor so bright it provides this fantastic even tone when applied. Although I have not counted the days this polish stays on and I wouldn't do that either since I am wearing another brands tops coat and a differ brands base coat. But it is still a FANTASTIC color. I applied to coats of this polish and received magnificent results.

I would like to update you that I have recently ran a contest on youtube. It did close on the 24th of december in year 2011, and I am proud to announce the winner here aswell.

I have been a little couped up with family to do an video update on the winners, But I have already gotten there information to ship out there things asap. I would like to see the winners do a video of there packages but it is not required.

I will soon be shopping for some more supplies. And ofcourse the more views and comments and likes I get on my video the bigger the gifts will be:)

Soon enough the prices will be up every friday for 2 month straight.

Santa Clause smiles

I decided to make Santa Claus smiling with his big bushy beard. Just like they did in the coca-cola commercials! I made him look 3D. here is the finishing look. :-)

I will be posting the step by step here.

Step one:

I have used to coats one this L.A. COLORS nail lacquer called "bright pink" (BLQ388, LOT# 2937)

--I am not a personal lover of the L.A. COLORS, but I loved the way this have came out as just the one color!

STEP TWO:

I added 2 dots. this will be our starting point to start building everything around it. Our eyes will just be beady black dots :-) I used the "APPLE BARREL 20504 Black color" and a dotting tool. A tooth pick would do just the same!

STEP THREE:

With the white I placed it all over to highlight the "hat" and the "beard"

STEP 4:

With the colors from "Apple Barrel" I used the colors "20503 White, 20216 Fuchsia, 20501 Bright Red' and made a bright light pink.

I made the pink into the cheeks.

STEP FIVE:

With the same black we used for the eyes "APPLE BARREL 20504 Black" I outlined what was going to be the mustache, nose, mouth, and the WHITE of the hat, I also painted the hat red with the "APPLE BARREL 20501 Bright Red".

STEP SIX:

I gathered a little bit of cotton ball and fluffed it up. With this I am going to make the beard and the Cotton hat top.

I used nail glue for this :)

this is what it looks like when your done gluing the cotton to the nail :) Be careful it tends to get sticky, so I used a tooth pick to press it down.

STEP SEVEN:

This step is OPTIONAL, I got "Milani Nail Art, Art of Silver 702" and placed a few silver strips on the beard, cotton on the hat, and the hat white part :-)

STEP EIGHT:

And the finishing touch with the Heavy clear coat, I used "Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat" And viola!

My Trip to a new nail supply store

So today I walked around in a new Nail supply store. Walking in and it is like an orgasm! WALLS OF NAIL POLISH! I was in heaven or something because it was AMAZING!
So far this is all i got as pictures!

And all that i walked out was with....

I will be going again tomorrow to do a small shopping spree... I will be taking my video camera, and try to be as sneeky as possible (I think it will be GREAT FUN!) So i hope you girls keep updated so I can show you around! I hope you ladies enjoy this as much as i do! ENJOY!

I have so far been using Imovie on MAC, I have also been using Windows Movie Maker. I am interested in making a great Intro in my Tutorial, But i need the help. I dont know the kind of programs i need to purchase, download, try, or even use. I want a intro with the pictures of my nails that i have done, and also add a great *nailcreatingmagic* across to maintain it my own! If you ladies or gents have ANY ADVICE. please do involve them here. I would also like to know if there is how-to videos on programs you think would be great.

Basically what i like to do is these!
Paint is no fun :(

-- Also, I would like to UPGRADE my filming capatabilities. I have a 2007 Nikon coolpix, and I have been using the webcam for my tutorials. If you have any Idea on how to set up the filming placement or advice for me...*on my knees* PLEASE DO!

Nails of ICE!

ICE NAILS:
STEPS

PREP: To prep your nails (which you should do often if you paint your nails more than once a week) wash all the polish and debris off and use the Sally Hansen Vitamin E on your cuticles and nails. Let sit for 20 minutes and then WIPE not WASH off. it will keep the vitamin E under your cuticles. if you wash it off, it will come out and your nails will dry out.

Step 2. Use a nail hardener over the Vitamin E and let dry completely. If you would like on the tips of your nails, do an additional coat around the corners of your nails (If you have weak or thin nails, this helps your tips stay strong while the top coats may damage your nails in the long run.)

STEP 3:Add COLOR! I used a matte finish with Sinful Colors for four of my nails (leave the ring fingers blank, but you can choose whatever nail you like for the other color. Just be sure to leave one or two different--so it stands out, and you have contrast on your hands) Two coats should do it. (Photo shown is with only one coat at time)

STEP 4:adding the contrast color (I used a very high gloss Sinful Color Pearl for my ring finger. Let completely dry and add your second coats)

STEP 5: This step you can do one of two things, I use a small thin brush (shown), or you can use your regular nail polish brush and make a french tip with the high gloss pearl white color, make sure it's a thick tip, but not too much, you want about 70-80% of your nail to still be the matte blue. Do NOT do a tip on the white nail, you will see why.

STEP 6: Now once you have painted the tips (shown) make sure you add two coats of the pearl finish to the tips of your nails so they will be visible. It's a somewhat 'sheer' color, so just be sure you don't over do it either. Let COMPLETELY dry before you do the next step.

STEP 7: On one nail, (with that small brush that we showed earlier) make a THIN line, I usually go from the bed of my nail to the tip. It doesn't have to be straight, I like to make it a bit off and fatter at the tip so it looks like a realistic ice crystal. Repeat a few times on each nail making them varying length's so they look different on every nail.

STEP 8: Finished look of hanging ice crystals on one nail.

STEOP 9: Now with an image plate (if you don't have one of these, they are pretty inexpensive, or you can try your hand at actually drawing on a snowflake,

Take a snowflake or cluster of flakes on an image, scrape it and print it with the BLUE on the WHITE nail that we left blank. I did TWO layers on the same nail on the same spot covering it so it would show up a bit better.

STEP 10: After you are finished putting on the images and the ice crystals, be sure to let your nail COMPLETELY DRY again. You are free to choose a gloss finish or a matte finish, whatever you prefer. I used Hard Candy Matte finish, the white/pearl will still come out as a high gloss so you don't need to worry about that.

FINISH: And there you go! a wonderful little winter design that will have everyone asking about em!

Feather Nails step by step

So I received the step by step tutorial for the "Feather Nails" That has been poping this fall!
This was sent with permission by @fallenbygrace!

Step 1:
Prep nails. I wash my hands with dish soap and a table spoon of sugar after I take off polish (it leaves your hands silky smooth and smells great! haha) put on a Vitamin E around cuticles (By sally hansen) let sit for 10 minutes then wipe off... I then put on a nail hardener (sally hansen) and let dry.

Step 2:

Pick a color. I usually choose bright bold colors on my nails. (as shown) I only paint one of my nails an off color (you'll see why)

STEP 3:

Pick another BOLD color (I chose ICE green this time) let dry ALL THE WAY! do not start step four until nails are completely dry!

STEP 4:
FEATHERS! I thought I would use peacock feathers because they would show up dark! pick about 5 or 6 of them (your not going to use the entire feather, just a small portion of the tips)

STEP 5:
Take your sally hansen nail hardener (or any other top coat of choice) and put a generous ammount on your nail, quickly place feather tip (or area that you like) on the TIP of your nail, don't over do it, because it will be hard to file the sides and the top of your nail and nailbed without cutting yourself! BE CAREFUL!!!

Heres another shot of step 5 on my thumb nail

STEP 6:

Do this to all of your nails, different layouts make it more creative, and distinct/different. ;)

STEP 7:
Cut the ends of the feathers as close to the tips of your nails as possible so they don't get caught on anything while drying them.

don't wait til the nails are dry on this step.

Put a thin coat of clear nail hardener of your choice on each nail going in the same direction over the nail (if you don't the feathers will move and you will have to start all over...

do this several times until you can't feel the feather on the top of your nails anymore (I did about 5 coats total... Let them completely dry!!! I waited about an hour total under a fan.

STEP 8:
GLITTER!

take your favorite glitter colors and put them on the tops of the FEATHERS ONLY! one coat should do it, add another seal top coat to it, let the glitter completely dry before you add the final top coat!

I added a bit of gold glitter to my thumb nail on this one. just to make it a bit different, :) again apply top coat when glitter is 100% dry!

STEP 9:
Let it all dry, and there you go!

I did forget to mention from step 6-9, file in a DOWNWARD motion (not upward or sideways) with a sharp file, take the feathers off slowly. it's a long process but make sure you file the feathers off or as close as you can get away from your skin and so it wont catch on anything...

Apply a top coat of harderner or quick dry every day that you have them on just to have daily upkeep! wear gloves when you wash dishes, etc!
