The revolt against their management agency by three members of the popular K-pop girl group KARA laid bare once again the vulnerability of idol groups tied by what have been known as “slave-like contracts” to their agencies, analysts and industry officials said.

The latest dispute also underscores the lack of guidelines governing contracts in the Korean showbiz industry although the government has unveiled a series of steps to improve what they called unfair contracts.

The three members — Han Seung-yeon, Nicole Jung and Kang Ji-young — terminated their contract with their agency on Wednesday, claiming that their mutual trust with the agency, DSP Entertainment, had been broken for what they called the amateurish and coercive management of the agency.

Some insiders saw it as a tug-of-war the estranged members initiated to amend contract terms to get a bigger portion of the agency’s profit with the band’s popularity soaring in Japan.

Music critic Lim Jin-mo saw the latest disputes as growing pains the Korean music industry must sustain to see better market conditions. “With teenage bands dominating the pop market, such a dispute is unavoidable,” Lim told The Korea Times, Thursday. “The Korean music industry is still young in managing entertainers.” More from this stories source here.

Ryu Shi-won

(born October 6, 1972) is a South Korean actor and singer. After he made his debut in the KBS drama Feeling (느낌) in 1994, Ryu pursued a singing career.

In December 12, 2004, Ryu went with a Taiwanese actress to Singapore for the presentation of the Star awards to Singaporean actors in the Mediacorp Star Awards 2004. The event was broadcast on Mediacorp's TV Channel 8.

Ryu revealed that he is the 14th-generation descendant of the Joseon Dynasty Prime Minister, Yu Seong-ryong.
Ryu Si Won was nicknamed "Ryucifer" (Ryu+Lucifer) because he killed a person back in 1995 after accidentally running down a pedestrian while he was driving his Le Mans late at night. He was investigated but did not get charged against any crimes as he made a settlement with the victim's family, but the tag of a murderer still follows him. Ryu is an amateur car racer and still enjoys his hobby to this date, which only fuels people's accusations against him.[3][4]

After one of the dramas he appeared in-"Beautiful Days"- was aired in Japan, he has become very popular there. He's been very active both as an actor and a singer in Japan lately.

Ryu has studied photography for three years and has produced his own promo photos. Because of this, in 2009, he worked for the very first time with his co-actor Ko Soo and he is the man behind Ko's very first photo diary, "24 Hours with Ko Soo". It spans approximately 100 shots, which will be produced as a DVD. He also gives support to Ko for his career.

HistoryVocalist Takeru and guitarists Masato and Yuji had previously performed in a band called Travel. After Travel disbanded, they joined with AmeriA's bassist, Shouta, to form Sug in October 2006. The drummer Mitsuru then joined in November of the same year.[2]

Shouta left the band in February and was replaced by Chiyu on bass. Their first release was "7th Breeze" on the compilation album Cannonball Vol. 03. The band signed to the visual-kei label PS Company, and in August 2007, the band released their first single, "Scheat".[2] Months after the release of their first single, Sug released their first EP entitled Love Scream Party. To promote their music outside of Japan, Sug performed at "J-Rock Invasion" in Germany alongside Kagrra, Kra, Alice Nine, and Screw--all of whom are also signed to CLJ Records, a German label.[3]

Mitsuru left Sug after their live on May 9, 2009. It is supposed that Mitsuru left citing creative differences to the remaining band members. Their support drummer at the time, Shinpei, became a full-time member of the band after Mitsuru's departure.

Following the announcement of their single "Gr8 Story," SuG announced their move onto major label PS Company during the live event called "SuG Fes 2009 Alternative POP Show ~ Vol.6" on November 30, 2009.[4] "Gr8 Story" was released through Pony Canyon, and the title track was used as the ending song for the anime Reborn![5] According to the band, the song is "rather punkish", yet with a catchy tune and an "easy-listening appeal".[6]

Their second studio album and their first album through Pony Canyon, Tokyo Muzical Hotel, was released on March 9, 2010 (SuG Day). Their third studio album and their second album through Pony Canyon Thrill Ride Pirates, is set to be released on SuG Day, March 9 2011.

Big announcement from the Morning Musume。

This is the biggest shocking news hitting H!P. Our beloved takahashi leader of Mumusu is graduating, and I myself and all her fans are just completly shocked. We will my Takahashi very very much. But, dont feel to bad cause she isn't just going to dissapear. If you know Takahashi she has always been busy, so don't be too sad....

This is the comment regarding Takahashi Ai's graduation from Morning Musume。
Thank you for your continual support as always. As announced directly herself on the stage of January 9th's show at Nakano Sunplaza, 5th generation member, Takahashi Ai will be graduating from both Morning Musume and Hello! Project in Morning Musume's concert tour this fall. When the proposal for Kamei Eri's graduation was made last year, I told Takahashi Ai, "It's about time you should consider the timing of your own graduation and what you want to pursuit afterward" as an advice.
The 5th generation members will have joined Morning Musume for 10 years. Takahashi Ai is the 6th leader and has been in this position for 3 years and 7 months. Takahashi Ai holds the record for being the longest in the group and the longest to hold the leader position. Looking back, she has honestly carried the responsibility for all this time.
(In no disrespect to all former members and leaders of the group...excuse me)
I have talked with her about various things, such as her activities afterward. As announced in the new year concert, her graduation will be in Morning Musume's Autumn concert tour, this was the right time to make the announcement.

Since there are still more than half a year to go, the 9th generation members have to familiarize themselves with Morning Musume's music and dances, to become self aware that they are part of the group. Takahashi plans to properly finish her job as leader in the mean time. Please be looking forward to what will become of Morning Musume.

Takahashi Ai will continue to be active in music, theater, and live events after her graduation. Details will gradually be released.Also, after Takahashi Ai's graduation, Niigaki Risa will assume the leader position of the group, and become the longest active member of Morning Musume.

Yes yes you can't count Morning Musume out yet. As sad as the girl group looked when they were reduced to only 5 members they of course as always add new members which is great news for every H!P and Morning Musume fan, including myself. Now if they made good choices that is a diffrent story, but only time will tell. Yes we can breath a sigh of relief even though I knew they would ad more to the group.

In Japan being a member of Morning Musume is the highest honour. To make it so far so young is what these girls Dream and work so hard for..

The four ninth generation members were revealed to be Riho Sayashi, Kanon Suzuki, Erina Ikuta and Mizuki Fukumura at the Hello! Project 2011 Winter: Kangei Shinsen Matsuri concert on January 2, 2011, Tsunku came on stage and announced the three audition winners, Riho Sayashi, Kanon Suzuki and Erina Ikuta, Tsunku then announced that Mizuki Fukumura, a former H!P egg would also be joining Morning Musume.Riho Sayashi and Kanon Suzuki are the first members of Morning Musume to be born after the groups formation. Being another 2 part series in yet another movie can get annoying after a while. Being the last part of a massive novel series has to come to an end somehow right?. Well, all good stories must have an end. But, fortunatly this is and will be the last and final movie for Harry Potter. The Harry Potter series is a long long series in a long long story based on the gigantic novel series writen by JK Rowling. No other movie that I know, has gone this long and survived. But, with it's fan base young and old you can see what a great success this story has become. The greatest book, novel or movie with all it's greatest mystery has had the world both young and old catch a glimpse into there wildest and greatest dreams.through the eyes of three wizards by the name of Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson(Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). 2PM to Debut in Japan

2PM is a seven member boy band group from South Korea. The band currently consist of six, due to the unfortunate and sudden contract termination of leader Jaebeom following an Internet controversy in September 2009. They are managed by JYP Entertainment. The current members are Junsu, Junho, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung and Chansung.

Popular Korean boys' group 2PM finally makes their debut in Japan!

At first, they will release DVD "Hottest -2PM 1st Music Video Collection & The History-" on November 24. The DVD seven music videos and their history footage. Limited edition includes Disc 2 with six TV spots, a deluxe photo book and photo card.

Then, Japan edition of their first album "01:59PM" will be released on December 8. The CD includes a bonus track "Thank You." Comes with a bonus DVD with music video of "Thank you" and digest of their concert in Seoul on September 4 & 5, 2010 (10 minutes approx.) Also includes a photo card. Look

2PM has been confirmed as the opening act for their label-mates, popular girl group Wonder Girls for 9 shows on the latter's United States headlining summer tour.[23] 2PM also performed at the 8th annual Korea Times Music Festival in Los Angeles, California on May 1, 2010,[24] and will also be performing at the Dream Concert in Seoul, South Korea on May 22, 2010.[
