Joe Belfiore, corporate vice president in Windows Phone shows off some of the new features coming in the Mango release of Windows Phone.

Mango, which will be available this fall, includes hundreds of new features and improvements organized around three key themes: easier communications, smarter apps, and the Internet. ere are the highlights:

Easier communications. The next version of Windows Phone keeps pace with the many different ways people connect and share—whether its calls, texts, emails, IMs, tweets, check-ins, or posting tagged photos or status updates. New features include:

• Threads. Switch between text, Facebook chat, and Windows Live Messenger within the same conversation.

• Groups. Group contacts into personalized Live Tiles to see the latest status updates and quickly send a text, email or IM to the whole group, right from the start screen.

• Deeper social network integration. Twitter and Linked In feeds are now integrated into contact cards; built-in Facebook check-ins; and new face detection software that makes it easy to quickly tag photos and post to the web.

New a project of Windows Phone Application using Visual C#.

Drag a Map Control from ToolBox to the phone pane.

Resize the Map Control to engage all the available space:
- Right click on the Map Control
- click Resize Layout
- click All

Insert your Bing Maps Key
- Refer to the post "Create Bing Maps Key" to obtain your Bing Maps Key
- Insert the key in your Map Control

Create Bing Maps Key

In order to use Bing Maps in your Windows Phone App, you need a Bing Maps key. Follow the steps to create one.

Go to Bing Maps Portal: http://www.bingmapsportal.com/

The Bing Maps Account Center allows you to create keys to use the Bing Maps AJAX Control, Bing Maps Silverlight Control, Bing Maps SOAP Services, Bing Maps REST Services and Bing Spatial Data Services.

In order to create a Bing Maps account, you have to long-in using Live ID, you can create a new Windows Live ID, or sign in using your existing ID.

Fill in the blank to create Bing Maps account, and Save:

Click "Create or view keys"

You can create up to five Bing Maps keys. Fill in info and click Submit.

Your key will be generated on bottom of the page.
