Hello dolls! I hope you all had a swell valentines day - love is definitely in the air! ♥ It tickled me when I found this dress at Salvation Army last month. I instantly thought "This would be the absolute perfect dress for valentines day.. how could you go wrong with red roses?" I definitely get really cheesy around the holidays with my style. I love dressing for the occasion!

I am so happy about the response to my Pinterest post I did not too long ago! I've really enjoyed finding you all on there ;). I have a bad habit of pinning and pinning and pinning and never actually doing the pins I pinned.. (that's alot of "pins" in one sentence..) I'm going to make a board of "Accomplished" pins.

So, apparently Pinterest has become my new addiction!!! (Well, technically my *old* new addiction- haha!) There is SO much stuff on there that I want to read and know about that I literally feel like my mind could explode! I search this website for absolutely every single little thing I want/need to know about everything. What better way to help spread my little addiction than by adding it to the lovely blawg? Don't you guys just enjoy inspiring posts much more than depressing emotional ones that are randomly created at 4:30am? I know I do.

Hello dolls! Wow, I actually have a fully happy outfit post, hehe! I actually beat the rain today to take these outfit photos. I couldn't have been happier with the way they turned out! The overcast was perfect and the sun decided to peak out a little behind the big grey clouds. I absolutely adore rainy days, but they make it very difficult to take outfit photos!
I have to admit, this dress is probably my newest obsession! The sleeves, pattern, and lace trim remind me so much of southern belle charm. I could literally sew sleeves like this on every dress in my closet. If only it had a ruffled (and longer..) bottom :(.

Check out my new 3 buckle belt! Oasap sent it to me to review for their company. I love that they have such a wide variety for all style types. I have to be completely honest with you guys, their stuff is wayyy out of my price range (but it may just be me because I only have a thrift store/ 0% budget.) Other than that I would recommend their stuff any day! I was a bit iffy about giving the company a chance since I've had so many bad sponsors here recently.. but I have to say, this place is legit and I love their stuff.

Hello dolls! Finally, an outfit post! This one is almost identical to my last outfit post but I added a pop of color to this one by wearing the red/orange lipstick and a bright red scarf :). I love it with this neutral palette! I braved the pouring rain to take these photos (hence my frizzly hair/bangs! yikes..) Hello dolls! Yesterday, I was picking up groceries with my mom when a woman announced, "All cosmetics in this department are a penny!". We just kind of stood there at first and then darted for the makeup aisle. Lipstick for a penny!? I'll take that any day, especially since spring/summer is coming! I got burgundy, a plum, 2 red, a peachy pink, a baby pink, 1 coral orange, and a coppery/brass color. They're all beautiful with a sparkly diamond texture to them. Talk about glammy!

Hello dolls! Finally, an outfit post! It's been too long. (Actually, just a week or so.. but that's still a while considering I get dressed everyday!) I'm really disappointed that I didn't have a better outcome with these photos. It was almost completely dark when I ran outside to take a few, and I felt like I couldn't pull myself together quick enough to get good shots. This is by far one of my favorite sweaters, but I think the jeans look terrible on me now that I look at these photos. They're too baggy around my "bird leg" calves (I seriously look like an apple on toothpicks! UGH.) I think the sweater is really the only reason I even posted these photos. Or the fact that I feel guilty for neglecting the "style" part of my blog lately. :/

Now that all my cranky grouching is aside- I've been meaning to tell you guys how the house is coming along! All we have left is lay the carpet in the two bedrooms and laminate in the living room with a few paint touch ups here and there. The electricians are coming to finish sometime this week and I couldn't be more excited! I've been trying to figure out a color palette that we both agree on for the outside. I'm really leaning towards mustard/white, sage/black, or navy/white/red. I'm such an indecisive person. Actually, I'm Googling a virtual color painter now so I won't paint my house with 500 different color paint samples. xoxo

Valentines Outfit Wishes

Hello dolls! This is just a quick post to try and make up for not doing outfit posts lately. Forgive me? I'm having the hardest time getting out and doing outfit photos lately! On the days I do seem to have free time, mother nature decides to go crazy tornado weather mode on me! I'll get back to regular posting once everything with the weather is straightened out again.

These sets are just a tiny mix of things I would LOVE to have/wear for Valentine's day! Can you believe it's almost FEBRUARY of 2012 already?! What happened to January?! Time is certainly flying by these days! Anyways, The first set is a cute and sweet little outfit for the new love birds out there (like myself) ;). The last set is for that broken hearted girl seeking revenge on Valentines day. Cheesy, I know, but cheesy things complete my life ;). XO!

Our Trip To Savannah, Georgia (Image Heavy!)

So in the first week of January, my brother moved to Savannah, Georgia. That's about 4 1/2 hours away from home, (not too far to most) but it is really hard to watch your only sibling move so far away. We've never lived separately and I knew it was going to be tough saying goodbye. We all know it's for the best so he can get his mind clear and start his future.

After we helped him move in, we decided to explore a little bit around downtown. I've been to Savannah so many times in my lifetime. It's such a nice summer getaway and the scenic history is just beautiful. I always get so giddy when riding under the mossy tree covered streets. The sad part is it was only 45 degrees and the wind was about to blow us away (hence Josh's facial expression in every photo..) So we didn't explore very long..

Later that night, we drove out to Tybee Island to eat at our favorite seafood place of all time, The Crab Shack. This is the best seafood I have E.V.E.R eaten in my life. The entire shack is surrounded by a baby gator lagoon. You can feed them and take pictures! There are really awesome bridges all around the place so you get an upclose view of them. It's literally like an aquatic zoo. (Unfortunately, I am the world's worst low light photographer, so forgive me for the horrible quality. And no gator photos! :()

The coolest turtle ever. Seriously, what turtle could ever be cooler than a Captain Jack Sparrow turtle?? He even has a ship mural on his shell!

Hello dolls! If any of you haven't noticed yet, I rarely ever wear my hair up, (ever!), I never mix bright colors, and I never mix patterns! I made a resolution yesterday to start buying bright colors and mixing them together. I really am a colorful person (I love every color in the rainbow!) but I am always buying neutral clothing. Latley, Elsie's style (A Beautiful Mess) has really been influencing me to go more colorful, so I'm going for it! (when I get the money of course haha.) I really just want a "happier"/"more me" style.

Now that I've lost a bit of weight I decided to give wearing my hair like this a try and I love it! I'm seriously planning to wear my hair like this or braided a lot when spring/summer hits. I always get sooo hot in the summertime wearing my hair down. FINALLY I can be content with wearing it up!

For some reason ^^this little booger^^ wanted to be in every shot! His name is Kitty Meow. He had a tiny twin sister named Muffin that we were going to keep but she ran away :( (at least that's what I hope happened to her.) He's the sweetest little kitty.. I didn't want to get attached to him because I already have a big fat ragdoll named Lilo (and he gets jealous way too easy!) but I think I might be talking Josh into adding another member to the family.. (and possibly another Boston Terrier [a boy for Niyah to play with!]) We'll see how that goes ;). xoxo

Hello dolls! Remember the first appearance of this sweater on le blog, wayyyy back in 2010 called "Sasquatch"? It's so funny to think how much my style has evolved since then, yet I still love it at the same time. I remember posting this sweater on Chictopia a while back and getting an editor's pick from it! It totally motivated me to keep blogging and whala, here I am today.

It was WAY too cold to be taking any of these pictures outside today, but I couldn't resist skipping any more days to do an outfit post. It has literally been in the 30s all week in Georgia. I'm completely fine with cold. But when you wake up everyday to a wind advisory of 25mph+.. it makes it really tough to get motivated, get out there, and take a few. My tripod almost blew over three times!

I know that I post alot of photos doing the same pose in the same old spot where the crack in the road is. I'm sorry for my boring photos, I'm trying to mix them up a little to make it a bit more interesting! I just don't get the chance to venture out and about very often. Once I move, I'll have a different scenery anyways! It'll be my backyard, hehe. :)I hope you all have a lovely weekend! xoxo

New Years Resolutions

1. Find myself. Set her free.
For some reason I am having an extremely hard time letting my true colors shine through. I feel that I've always been in the "safe zone" so I would be accepted by locals and family. Isn't that just ridiculous? It's like I'm living in permanent high school or something. It's not about them anymore. It's time to let this vintage lovin' gal on the loose.
2. Take more photos. Especially candid.
I don't have an awesome iPhone to use Instagram on, but I do have a Polaroid that I plan to buy film for and start using.
3. Be kinder, sweeter, and more grateful. Stop caring so much and start laughing more. Enjoy life to the fullest.
I stress so much more than a 20 year old should. Since life is metaphorically a roller-coaster, then I'm always the girl that waits off to the side while her friends get off of the ride. (I literally do this in real life.) It's finally time to let go and just enjoy the ride.
4. Start believing in myself and the things I do. Encourage myself to keep pushing on.I am the world's worst pessimist. Everything I do isn't good enough to myself. I am striving to be a more positive person, one that is happy about everything. My sickness has really taken it's toll on the person I am/used to be, but I need to remind myself that I am in control.
5. Stop setting so many goals and projects. Start doing them.
Simply said.
6. Sew my first dress. Correctly.
Maybe if I were better at math this would be a lot easier.
7. Change out and complete my entire wardrobe with items I actually like. vintage, florals, basics, handmade pieces, endless shoes, skirts and dresses. Starting over.
It sounds crazy, but I have had a bad dose of "I hate my closet" for years. It's time to revamp my style and find those "I can't live without" pieces that I've never really had.
8. Meet new friends. Hang out with forgotten ones.
I am such an open and spastic person.. in person. Planning to hang out with friends, go to movie parties/sleep overs etc? Not my thing when asked. But when it's something that is totally random and unplanned? I go for it. If someone calls me up for a lunch date or movie trip, I'm going.
9. Find new inspiring artists. Go see the ones I love in concert.
I listen to so many mainstream and 90s bands. I want to find and indulge myself in an endless sea of indie bands. Personally, ones like The Honey Trees or He Is We.
10. Watch more classic films. Study them.
Particularly, I used to not be a movie or TV person. I love to read books and listen to music. But I want to be inspired by the classics, and the only way to do that (the way I want to do it) is watch classic movies.
11. Make my backyard a floral paradise with a successful garden. Dedicate all effort towards it.
I have dreamed of having my own house and back yard for years. I finally have one now, and I'm going to do everything in my power to have a floral paradise and garden. Whatever it takes.
12. Meet local bloggers. Travel more.
I love all of my blog girls and each and every one of my readers! I would LOVE to meet you guys someday! Especially local Georgia bloggers. We are far and few, but I know I can find you guys and have a lunch date someday. If you're a Georgia blogger, watch out, because I'm coming for you!

Hello dolls! Today is my 20th birthday! I spent it enjoying an amazing and hilarious Chinese lunch date with my best friend, Chris, and a sweet dinner & icecream with my loving boyfriend and mom. It feel so odd to think that I'm not a teenager and I am now a young adult. Lately, the past few years have really "rush-matured" me. I've been through so much stuff at once that usually people don't until their forties.. or ever even face at all in their lifetime. I believe if it weren't for the power of prayer, a very strong willed mind, and an amazing family, I think I'd have gone insane by now. And trust me, I am dead serious about that.

Hello dolls! Today, I'm doing this post on my favorite outfits over the year of 2011 because I've seen it going around in the blogosphere and I think it's so neat! Quite frankly, I just haven't had time to do an outfit post recently. 2011.. wow. It has been the best year so far. I mean, I have had the happiest year of my life this year. It's been a very long time since I could actually say that, and mean it. I've went through so much these past few years and you guys were there with me every step of the way. I couldn't thank you guys enough. I particularly love the way I have evolved into myself this year. My style and my view on things have change so significantly. Hello dolls. Today was probably one of the worst days I have had in a while. No need to feel sorry or apologize, everything that could possibly go wrong today (and I mean everything) did. It was almost unbearable, but everything got straightened out and it's all good! Sometimes with days like this, all you can do is sit still while everything just happens the way it's going to happen.

I'm glad that Josh caught these joyful photos from Sunday. They made me giggle a little when I looked back at them; I didn't realize how extremely thin and see through my dress was! I was kind of embarrassed because this was my outfit to church! whoops. Well, atleast God doesn't care what you wear, just as long as you're there ;).

DIY: Christmas Bow Tutorial!

Hello dolls! With all of the crazy Christmas parties and last minute Christmas gift buying adventures, I always seem to forget to grab a bag of bows! I didn't really have the money to run out and grab some at the moment, so I just decided to make them! This is a simple crafty tutorial that is SO easy and cheap! I hope this tutorial saves you money and makes each of your gifts just a little bit more special, xo

You Will Need:
Paper (any kind! construction, printer, card stock, wrapping.. any!)
Scissors
Glue stick
Presents! ;)

Step 1:
Take one sheet of paper and turn it horizontally. Cut the paper into into 7 strips at 1 1/2 inch with. Leave 4 strips at normal size. Cut 2 strips 1 inch shorter than the rest. Cut the last strip on half.

Your strips should look like this

Step 2:
Fold all but the smallest strip in half.

Step 3:
Unfold the strips and place glue in the center of each strip at the fold crease.

Step 4:
Start folding your strips. Take the left outer corner and twist backwards to the center crease. Press into the glue. Then place glue on top of the glued down corner and begin twisting the bottom outer right corner up to the center crease. Press down ontop of the other fold. Repeat with 5 strips.

This is a demonstration on how to fold your paper into tiny funnels.

Step 5: Fold the smallest strip into a circle.

Step 6:
Start gluing each individual folded strip into the center of each other strip to make a star shape.

Step 7:
Glue the circle strip on top of all of the funnel strips and you're all done!

(Optional)Step 8:
Cut 3 small strips (about 1cm wide). Run the blade of your closed scissors along the small strips to make them curl! Glue to the back and tada!

Let me tell you, I was sweating like a fat man in a sauna (secretly!!!) Luckily, it quickly got breezy and chilly by later this evening! Oh, the things we do for fashion, (and the laziness of not wanting to change again ;P).

Hello dolls! Christmas is only twelve days away!!! Does that blow your mind as much as it does mine?! I'm doing absolutely everything I can this month to get into the Christmas spirit! Josh and I are listening to Christmas music everytime we get in the car, going to Christmas decorated events, baking sweet Christmas goodies, and so much more! Eeep! So excited. I can't wait til we move into our snug little home so we can decorate it like crazy next year! ♥

I love my new JCPenney red cape and flea market leather boots!!! I was a bit skeptical at first about buying the cape because of how it's made. The cut is so odd, but I like it now that I've worn it a couple of times! And the boots?! TOTAL STEAL. Only $24.99!! I'm such a bargain shopper ;).

I think I look like a fashionable Mrs. Claus! I think the glasses set it off, hehe! What do you think? ;). Enough of my rambling, I hope you guys have an amazing week!
