Happy Chinese new year! 新年快樂！and happy regular new year as well!
I'm posting again since things haven't been going too well in my household, just bad financial situations, oh well. Anyways I'm here with an update.
I need to update my nail polish haul as well! And do a wet n wild eyeshadow review.

It was Chinese New Years and my moms bday as well so I bought her a cake and we ate shabu shabu at my aunts house.

Haha I'm getting more consistent with updates yay. Well this will probably be my last post this week...I have finals all next week so I'll be super busy and probably super tired looking haha. Anyways this is my FOTD and a small glimpse at my OOTD too! :)

belated ‘allure’ haul (youngblood and stila)

My mom bought this really cool set over the summer from allure magazine. It was a sort of beauty collection gift set that had a lot of different hair, skin, and makeup included.

I’ve picked out the makeup from that collection and I figured it was finally time to show everyone just what came in that collection.

First thing, is a really gorgeous Youngblood Cosmetics Palette. For those that do not know Youngblood, it’s a small independent makeup company that makes extremely gorgeous pigmented eye shadows. The palette included in the allure set is a purple kit, if you look at my profile picture, I used all those purple colors for my eye makeup there. (:

It comes in a really sleek looking silver case.

The palette is called Purple Majesty, and the colors are moonstone, lilac bouquet, wild orchid, and heather smoke. (clockwise). Here is the link to check out their stuff! It retails for $39. Purchase Here! (:

Here are the swatches, left is with primer, right is without. It’s really pigmented even without primer. Absolutely amazing! The first shade is a typical silvery frost shade, the lilac bouquet is a lovely cool toned lilac purple. The third shade, runs a tad more on the warm side, with small hints of a fuchsia throughout. The last shade is a beautiful blue-toned purple that would look great on the crease.

The kit also came with a really large Stila Lip gloss set. I don’t particularly like Stila’s lip glosses. I find them a tad sticky, and a lot of the colors tend to look the same. It’s glossy and glittery but not too pigmented. It came with 8 different lip glazes, I swatched them in order of their appearance here.

Please excuse the hand hairs ><.

Out of all the colors, they all just gave a slight milky pink finish with some glitter. The only colors I found not wearable are the 3rd to last and the last colors. They were surprisingly really pigmented, but it made my lips look like they were covered in blood, sort of freaky. But, they are nice lip glazes to start out with.

Overall, I found this gift set really cute, and I hope you guys enjoyed the swatches to see what colors you should pick out next time you go makeup shopping! I also advise you to check out Youngblood since I found their stuff really amazing and pigmented.

Stila ‘Costco’ Set Review and Swatches

Hi everyone, I’m back! Boy, I’ve been so busy lately, and I am so excited to be back to show some new swatches and a mini-review of these products. I’ve been so busy and actually purchased a lot of new items that I cannot wait to review and show everyone. I’m still improving my photo-taking skills and am currently saving up for a new and better camera.

Anyways, this set can be found at a Costco, that is where I had purchased mine. It was $17.99, which is a great deal for what it comes with. It comes with a Stila Kajal Kohl Eyeliner in Onyx, a Major Major Lash Mascara and a small palette of two eyeshadows. The price is great since for $18 that is already worth the original price of the eyeliner anyways.

Anyways, it is a cute set, perfect for a quick makeup get-away pouch. The eyeshadow is pretty gorgeous. The colors are called ‘starlight’ and ‘storm’.

“Starlight” is a really pretty frosty shimmery pink, similar to Stila’s kitten.

“Storm” is a pretty soft black with soft sparkles.

They complement each other really well. Here are the pictures and swatches (:

The mascara is just an average mascara, I tried it and its just normal and meh.

Anyways, overall this kit is really nice and quite worth the price. For $18 its already worth its price for the eyeliner that it comes with. I love Stila’s Kajal Kohl eyeliners, its not waterproof but it goes on so creamy and is a beautiful dark black.

Wow, it's been two months since I've posted anything, and I AM SO SORRY!
Life has been really hectic lately. I just sort of need to rant.

Things with my friends lately haven't been going well, I find myself getting
frustrated and sad at some situations going on right now. I've been working so much lately, that I never get to see them, and I guess that's the problem now...

But, since I have been working so much, I've saved up quite a bit and was able
to buy a LOT of new products. New wallet, purse, makeup, skincare, the works.

This is just an update post to know that I did NOT go away or neglect this blog or anything
it's just working almost full time while getting ready to start another year of school sorta sucks.

But, I won't complain. I'm happy doing what I do right now! I will let you know, that I will be back with a LOT of posts. (Hopefully, I can use my new netbook [hehe] and get a new camera soon!)

Sephora Haul + Mini Mini Reviews!

Hey everyone, I just got my Sephora haul! I actually got it Monday, but my finals were on Tuesday so I held myself back from opening and touching anything UNTIL I got finals over with. I had three finals and an Art Project due today, and suffice it to say I'M DONEE WITH MY FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE! Wow, it went by really fast.

Anyways, I will be showing you what I got, its not a lot, but I will do a sort of Micro-Review on the things I got!

Here I go!

These were the samples I picked out. I can't wait til I try them. I got the Juice Beauty Duo Samples, Jurlique Natural Fruit Enzyme Exfoliator, and the Shiseido White Lucent Serum. Hopefully, I'll get around to using them and do a mini-review.

I used a promo code and got the Murad Vitamin C Sample pack. I believe that this is one of their new lines, and I guess they're trying to promote it. I'll give it a try one day, I've been meaning to start a new Summer Skincare Regime anyhow.

Ta-Da! What I got. I got a Nars Blush in Super Orgasm, and two Dior Addict Lippies! The box is not actually blue...

It's actually this sort of holographic color, the flash just made it seem blue. The camera does the boxes no justice, it is a GORGEOUS packaging.

First off, was my Nars Blush! I got it in Super Orgasm which is a really pretty sort of peachy pink with LOTS of gold glitter. I tried it on before @ Sephora and fell in love with it. I used a light hand to apply it and it definitely made me seem more awake!

I also sorta got it since I only have ONE Mac Marine Life Powder and I did not want to use it yet...so this is a TEMPORARY substitute for now! Look how gorgeous the color is! It's really pigmented so you only need to apply a tiny bit. I did not review or swatch this since my skin right now is HORRID due to finals, and I did not want to apply it to my cheeks and take a picture of my face. I'll do one when my skin gets better...LOL.

First Dior Lippie is the Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Apricot Cloche. I LOVE THIS COLOR. IT is SO gorgeous, and it is not sticky AT ALL. I was so surprised when I put it on, it went on really smoothly and did not leave my lips sticky. I guess I was always used to the cheap lipglosses and never tried anything so high-end. Anyways, the color is a sort of peachy apricot color. As you noticed, I'm really into the whole CORAL thing this summer. It's always so hard to find something since yellow-undertones can look really strange with orangey coral, but coral with pink undertones always come out really nicely on my light complexion.

It has a nice brush applicator as opposed to the usual doe-shaped ones. I personally loved this brush a lot! Made putting on the gloss a lot easier <3.

I ALSO got the Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Sensation Coral.

It is a LOVELY shade of coral, and it gives a really nice peachy coral glow that I always looked for. It's not too orangey or pink, and it looks SO NICE!

I always LOVED Dior products, look how lovely the packaging is. The plastic case is not just plastic, it sort of reflects a lot of different colors. It's too hard to capture on my poor crappy camera! =[

Sephora for $26 <33

Hehe, isn't the color just SO PRETTY? It looks really nice on me too. Gives a nice glow and pick me up color thats subtle and perfect for summer and not TOO bright! It also goes on really smoothly and is really moisturizing! I would definitely rebuy this once it runs out. Love the packaging!! YAY!

Well, that just about sums it up! I'm thinking about buying something else to celebrate my end of FINALS and my end of my FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE! I was thinking about getting the Dior Addict Lip Glow or something else Dior! As you can tell, I LOVE DIOR! I also need to pick up some heavy duty sunscreens and probably a new ACNE regime, I'm breaking out. Hehe, sorry its like a to-do list here. Also, something for my thin sparse brows. okay!

Fleur-de-Lis Giveaway + update!

Mac To The Beach Marine Life!

Guess what? I had pre-ordered the Mac Marine Life a week ago and I was able to get it today from my local MAC Store! I am so excited since I got there after school around 7 pm and the SA said that it sold out Mid-Day and that I am so lucky to be getting one! I was so excited I also bought the MAC Beachbound Lipstick. I know many out there right now say that the lipstick is not good, not pigmented, etc. However, I love the color, it gives my lips a beautiful subtle glaze, and does not mask my natural lip color, it only gives it a nice sheen and shine and really wakes up my whole face. I love it!

Now, the Marine Life Highlight Powder, I did not swatch it yet. I barely got it, and only took some pictures of it. I don't really want to be touching it just yet, its too beautiful! So, I only have some pictures, and what the Beachbound looks like on my lips. Its not super pigmented so buyers beware!

There's not much to say about Marine Life that no one knows, it is beautiful, it is sold out everywhere, and it is just plain fantastic! LOL

I would rate the Marine Life Highlight Powder 10/10, and the Beachbound Lipstick 7/10!

collective haul

man, it has been FOREVER since i've written anything for this. but i just need to rant and get some stuff out.

work has been really hard, i'm the only one there now and its sorta frustrating. especially when theres children in the office. i guess i really have to learn how to get children under control.

in other news, i'm super excited for thursday since that is when i will be able to go to my local mac store to pick up my new MAC 'to the beach' marine life highlight powder! sooo excited, i'm still contemplating the lipstick though (beachbound), need to see it in person before getting that.

anyways, i bought a ton of stuff lately. i guess you can call it retail therapy! i'm only going to show the makeup and skincare stuff that i got since i last posted.

HUGE sasa haul!
haha sorry for that huge block, just wanted to block out some things. i got two boxes of silk whitia whitening masks, two boxes of the my beauty diary masks in black pearl and natto (my mom's), a koji curler in 73, two Mentholatum, a sekkiesei emulsion, and another box of my favorite kuan yuan lian masks, and a free gift from sasa!

i got the cure aqua natural gel, or something like that. its supposed to be made of water and can slough away dead skin cells. really gentle. i'll do a review of it soon. buy it here!

i also got another tube of the neutrogena acne stress control hydrating acne treatment from target. its currently my HG favorite acne serum for the daytime. its cheap only about $6.50 yet it really fights my acne and its not too harsh and absorbs quickly. its not oily or anything! i love it!

a stila trio that you can buy online @ their website. it has two new colors called chloe and lame, and the pink one on the right is their signature kitten. click to buy!

this is another stila trio that is more exclusive. you can't find it online. i got it at costco in this sort of package deal that came with a stila smudge pot in black. the colors are gorgeous. its a light blue almost violet color, along with a darker violet and kitten.

i also got this @ target, its only one dollar and i'm sure you can find it at the elf website. i really like it, it has great control since it is a felt tip, and even though its not THAT pigmented, you can always go over it for great color. its not exactly that waterproof either, but hey for $1 what am i complaining about?

here are the swatches. the gold ones on the bottom is the first palette, and the blue ones are the 2nd palette. the s-labeled eyeliner is the stila smudge pot in black and the e-labeled one is the elf eyeliner (i went over it a few times). i need to work on swatching, lol!

i also got a couple of clinique things, from their great sale that allowed us to get these great gifts! my mom took the lipsticks but there were about 7-8 free gifts in total! all i had to do was buy $21.50 worth of stuff, i got the clinique all about eyes serum. i got this cause i have puffy eyes and i think heavy eye creams are WAY too much right now for me at this age, so a serum is something light that can do wonders!

i also got a few MAC things. i got a studio fix powder in c3 (i'm actually nc20 but the c3 matches my neck more?? eh.) i also managed to get my hands on the last MAC chromagraphic pencil from their pret-a-papier collected in nc15/nw20 (i think, its the lightest color). its basically sold out everywhere now, but i got one! my camera washed out the color of the powder and the eyeliner, but its a very light nude color. i also got a lady gaga viva glam lipstick! its a really pretty cotton candy like pink. it smells really good. i personally like to wear just one sheer layer for everyday. super gorgeous! and proceeds go to charity! hehe!

i also got some rollerball perfumes during sephora's beauty insider 15% off sale. i got the vera wang princess which is such a sweet smell, and the marc jacobs daisy which is a very flirty, yet clean smell. they both smell fantastic! i personally LOVE the vera wang princess one. the little blue bottle in the back i got from pacsun for $5! it smells really clean and refreshing and i currently use that for everyday, i save the others for special occasions ;D

actually this is pretty old, but it was so pretty i had to take a picture of it! its gradient nails with pink glitter. super gorgeous!

YAY MY FACE MASKS CAME!

I already tried the pink box called Kuan Yuan Lian

NATURAL CARE Whitening Mask (from Sasa.com) on the left and man oh man was it great. It left my skin really soft and bright after taking it off. I was able to keep the mask on for about 30-45 minutes before it began to get dry. Plenty of essence in there to last for a while! Really cheap too! I got it for $8.60 for 10 pieces on Sasa.com. It was on sale (:

I also bought the My Beauty Diary 我的美麗日記Sampler Box today at a local beauty store inside of the supermarket near my work just to see which of the 15 face masks I like the most, that way I can go ahead and invest in buying a few boxes of the masks I like the most.It was $22.50 (after tax) for 15 masks, which comes to $1.50 a mask, not too bad! It comes with one of each from their regular face mask line, I'm looking forward to the Strawberry Yogurt, Mixed Berry, and the Black and White Pearl. I need to make sure not to get my hopes too up though, I hope I don't break out! I'm really super excited! I need to blog each mask to keep track of which one I like the most, as well as before and after pictures!

Dariya Maegami Fringe Holder Review

I just got this product today, and have been wearing for about ten hours now. It is a great product, and I got it from my cousin. It is really big in Japan and Taiwan right now, and it is really cheap and great for girls who have bangs and do not want to mess up their hair when doing makeup and skincare stuff.

I honestly really like this product, not only is it really cute, but actually quite an affordable price. Luckily, I got this product for free so there's not too much to worry about. I got it in light blue, you can also get it in pink or black. It retails for $2.29 and you can buy it at Sasa.com

Anyways, it is essentially velcro for your hair, it goes on really easily and comes off painlessly and effortlessly. It holds all my bangs back and still retains the shape of my bangs after I take it off, especially when bobby pins and clips just tend to make it awkward and funny shaped.

Bottom line: Just go and try it out and see how you like it, if not then go ahead and get some velcro hair curlers, cut it up and flatten it and then you have a DIY one! I would rate this product 4 out of 5 stars. It is really convenient and super cute to use. I'm not being cheap or anything, but as a huge DIY person, I do not find it really worth the price, since it really is just velcro for your hair. But, if you really need it and don't want to try to make a DIY version, go ahead and buy it to try it out! A lot cheaper than I believed it to be! I realized in Taiwan its less than a dollar.

love the satisfaction of never having to read a single chapter, but still getting a 96/100 on my latest test for my Criminology class. It makes me feel fantastical!

On another note, should I buy the Paul & Joe Whitening Serum? I've been eyeing the thing for a while, and I've heard that it works pretty well and smells good too. The package is of course really gorgeous, and the bottle is absolutely adorable. But, the thing is that the product is $45 and I'm still thinking about whether not I should get it...

I've been so unsatisfied lately with my complexion. I believe I'm an NC 30, but I really want to be NC 20. I just don't look good dark. Which is what I am right now. Still waiting for my Sasa purchase with my whitening scrubs and whitening masks. Cannot wait!
