I am just GITTY over this! Stonebridge church is allowing us to use their Bridge building for the crop. I had my first visit tonight and wow!! This is going to be PERFECT!! I seriously can't stop giggling!

So this sweet pic is what we have chosen for our puzzle. We have made it into a 16x20 picture puzzle. Each puzzle piece that is purchased will be customized with the name of the donator on the backside. This awesome piece of art will be able to hang in The Haurghty's home not only to serve as a reminder of the awesomeness of this baby boy but how many friends, family and strangers were able to come together and show their support.

If you are interested in getting involved with the planning and/or prep for the helping Hank crop & Fundraiser please join us Wed Feb 10 @ 6pm @ Chic fil @ I45/Louetta.

Some of the things we need help with is finding donors for lunch, snacks & refreshments. Prior to the fundraiser we'll need help preparing the goodie bags for the registrants & organizing the door prizes & silent auction items. We will also need volunteers to help set up & take down of tables/food etc. on the day of the event. We would love to have you join us! I can't believe the response I am receiving - everyone has such a generous spirit and is committed to helping Hank and creating awareness for congenital heart defects. I am just overwhelmed and we are still over a month away! We have obtained some awesome door prizes already and silent auction items!! Each year approximately 40,000 babies are born in the US with a congenital heart defect. Thousands of them will not reach their first birthday and thousands more die before they reach adulthood. Your donation will make a difference for the future of these children.

Crop & Fundraiser Details

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the "helping Hank" Crop & Fundraiser!

This crop is designed for our little man, Hank Von Harughty, and his young family to help them with medical expenses for his life saving surgery. You see, Hank was born with a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA). A defect that is not always detected prior to birth. The crop is going to be fun, inspirational, creative and a way to show the Harughty family that we will all pull together and do anything we can to help them and welcome this little man into our world and our hearts. If you are meeting the Harughty's for the first time, this is where Hank's story begins... http://theharughtys.blogspot.com/2009/12/we-love-you-baby-hank.html I invite you to take the journey, it's heart warming, eye opening and a miracle from above... Then come back here and sign up for the crop, it is going to be an experience and something you won't soon forget.

Our goal for the crop is to raise awareness for TGA, and help alleviate some of the burden of the medical expenses the family has endured. Anyone and everyone is invited to the crop - please feel free to forward to your friends & family! We have approximately 50 crop spaces available. This is not just a scrapbooking crop, crafters of all kinds are invited to participate. If you are not able to come and would still like to donate to the Harughty's, it is greatly appreciated.

What a find!

So I went downstairs from my office bldg to find a bite to eat... I wandered over to Walden bookstore (they are all closing you know) and found the MOST adorable .... "thing"... I can't tell you what it is.. .I want it to be a surprise for everyone. They were on clearance and I gobbled up every last one of em... It was kind of funny, cause the cashier had to scan each and every one of them (50+) and people were grabbing them off the table and like "oh those are cute"... and I wanted to slap their hand and say 'no way - those are mine' (no - just kidding!!!) So I told them all about its intentions and this great event we have planned for Hank! The non crafters just gave me a glazed over look, but some of them caught on. LOL Anyhow - just thought I'd throw a teaser out there!!! I plan to have the flyers ready by the end of the week for you volunteers to start distributing and jpgs ready for you bloggers.
