In the meantime; I found a great alternative that can/should be used with the Ultimate Google Plugin. The plugin was installed on your iLocals.Info blog. Use this plugin to add the Web Property ID on to each of your blog’s pages. When you have activated the plugin you’ll see under Settings: Ultimate GA enter your Web Property ID. Then click on update options.

Then go and download this Free Google Analytics; Reporting Suite. It’s easy to use and only a click away.

After I had problems with the Firestats plugin we could not measure site stats on iLocals.Info. Although there were alternatives I could not get what I wanted. Then I got hold of the hack.

Bloggers on iLocals.info will find the following added to their blogs:

When you click on the Blog Stats you’ll see all the stats for your blog brought to you by Google Analytics.

In order to set your blog stats up you need to click on Blog Stats Setup and do what is asked on that page. It’s pretty simple:

• You need to setup an account with Google Analytics if you don’t have one. Then you need to tell Google Analytics about your blog. Google Analytics ask you to paste some code in every page of your blog. This is not necessary. Just get this number (something similar):
• Grab the Web Property ID and paste it here: As soon as you click on the above link you’ll be taken to a page where you enter your Web Property ID. Then you are done.

Please note that the blog stats will not show immediately. And if you have a problem check your Google Analytics page for problems first.

How do you resize the images and photos for your blog?

Download the free InfraView and use this fine piece of software to resize your images before you upload your photos and images to your blog.

The following video shows how to download and install InfraView:

When you have download InfraView then watch this video at YouTube to see how a photo/image is resized.

You may also want to crop your photos or images before upload them to your blog then watch this video. This video assumes you know something about image sizes. Do not allow the technicalities to stop you. Watch it because it will give you a few ideas.

The learning curve to use NextGen effectively exists. But it's all worthwhile. Although I am no expert yet I was able to create a vary nice gallery for the real estate I sell.

This is what I did:

I created a gallery for each home for sale.

I created a page for each home for sale.

All these pages where sub pages of the one main for sale page.

And then I created a photo album from all the galleries.

Now, if you go to the main for sale page you'll see the album and when you click on an album your are taken to the sub pages with the galleries.

Neat! Well that's what I thought. And you can sell or brag with anything using NextGen Gallery. The plugin is installed on your iLocals.Info blog.

But before I brag let me get back to earth. Just when I thought I know a little bit about NextGen Gallery I came across this amazing use of NextGen Gallery to sell Real Estate.

All the tools and training material to use NextGen Gallery is available to anyone who has access to iLocals.Info or who want access to create on iLocals.Info.

If you need support to use NextGen Gallery then you can apply for it.

But there are issues as well. If you are willing to do all the technical changes then you may find that it limit your creative juices.

And if you want to have your own domain, for example you want PeterCool.Com you cannot. You may have PeterCool.iLocals.Info.

We if everything goes according to plan this will change. Because I am testing a way to add your own domain address to your iLocals.Info blog.

On your DashBoard under Manage you'll see Domain Mapping. This is where it will happen. But I ask you not to use it yet as I am learning how to use it and to know if it will work. I think it will but need to proof.

Today I want to discuss how you write an advertisement when you have an online newsletter or blog/web site. But before I get there let me get something off my chest. If you can bare with me because this is going to be ugly…….

I work with many off-line business people who are traditionally technophobes.

Being a technophobe is not a problem because it’s a choice and when you see it as a choice then you can choose not to be a technophobe. But when you, as a traditional off-line marketer or a brick to brick advertiser, waste money on advertising then I have no sympathy with you. Because technology, like an online newsletter, allows you to make more money from advertising.

I have said it many times and today I will try and explain it with an example of my own advertising.

This is the problem with traditional advertisers:

1. They advertise to sell instead of advertising to create relationships of to give something of value
2. They ignore the people who have done business with them
3. They ignore people who may need to do business with them but who are not ready today
4. They have no clue how to write an advertisement. For example they think that their business name is the most important aspect of their advertisement. Please remember you are not Coke or Microsoft or Google. For all practical purposes you are Joe Local Business.

Lets have a look at the two advertisements that I have created for two local newspapers.

There are a few advertising ideas I want you to note:

• I am making you an offer. You will learn and it’s all in red and large print.
• I did not use any logo and I did not start with my business name.
• I also added an unbelievable guarantee. Have you seen many advertisements that add a guarantee?
• I have created two ads for two different newspapers. This was done to test and see which ad works best. Then I will swap the ads to see if both newspapers gives me similar results with the same advertisement. And only when I know which ad works best will I increase the size of the ad and go to more expensive advertising mediums.
• People can contact me if they want to talk to me. These are the ready and hot lot. When they phone me I’ll tell them what’s it all about and see if they are interested in the newsletter option. If they are not I’ll ask them if they want to subscribe to my online newsletter. And then get their name and email address.
• If they are not ready to phone me then they can visit my online web site and read more. Here they can also subscribe to my newsletter or email me to tell me they want training.

The last point is one of the most important that traditional off line marketers never realise. They never capture the attention of people who want to do business but who are not ready to day. And they have no tool to educate these people.

Now that I came this far I feel better There are obviously more to this story but I an sure you get the idea.

From today you have no excuse. You can continue to market for new business, you can continue to ignore people who want to spend money in the future or you can start your own online newsletter and change your advertising approach to double and even triple your advertising response rate.

the right link and study the plugin, what it

can do and what not.

All plugins uploaded are enhancements and

may or may not work for you. Some plugins

may even be in conflict with each other.

When one plugin does not work another

will do the job better.

Plugins slows your blog and the more

you activate the slower you blog can

become.

Be careful and give me the plugin name

and the plugin link when you have a

problem.

When you have a problem with a plugin

I use that info as above to contact the

developer of the plugin. He may or may

not get back to me. Please bear this

in mind.

As a last resort: Remember why you blog.

Are you impressing people with technology or

are you trying to build relationships?

This is no excuse for issues that do not

work but keep it in mind not to slow your

blog and not to keep you side tracked from

why you blog.

Content is king!

I know the feeling. But when we are done. A week from now you will be plain sailing.

I want to ask you:

If you have a problem be specific; give me the name of the plugin or the template that you have a problem with. And explain the problem; what happens etc.

Then I want to ask you to consider the number of plugins you use. Plugins can and will slow your blog. If you don’t use them to make more money with your blog then rather deactivate them.

And if your purpose is to make money with your blog then focus on the people who want to read and who are reading your blog. They only care to know, trust and like you.

You can do the selling part later.

So focus on the people and not the technology!
