Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Project Associate-I in the BMGF-funded project entitled: "Development of climate resilient Chickpea and Brassica" under the supervision of Dr. Shiv Meena, Scientist, NIPGR. Project Associate-I (one post): Emoluments: As per guidelines prescribed in the below mentioned OM of DST.

Qualification: Candidates having a Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines of DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 are eligible to apply.

Experience: Hands-on experience in cold-stress biology of plants, including multiplex cloning (e.g., Green Gate/Golden Gate-based systems), cold-stress-responsive gene expression analysis, CRISPR= Cas9/Cas12- mediated genome editing, cold-stress phenotyping, and genotyping will be preferred.

Upper age limit- 35 Years. This position is purely temporary, initially till the tenability of project i.e. upto July 31st 2027.

The appointment may be curtailed based on the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the competent authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the most suitable candidate based on qualifications and experience. Reservation of posts shall be as per Government of India norms. The position may be terminated at any time with one month's notice by either party.

The mandate of the institute is discovery, innovation and translation in biotechnology and disease biology. Over the last few decades BRIC-RGCB has witnessed remarkable achievements in various domains of biotechnology. BRIC-RGCB is now poised to enter the next phase of translational and interdisciplinary research in identified high priority areas of Cancer Research, Pathogen Biology, Neurobiology, Cardiovascular disease and diabetes biology and Plant biotechnology & disease biology program.

As we look forward to Viksit Bharat 2047, BRIC-RGCB invites applications from early career scientists (Indian citizens) with potential for intellectual leadership and passion for innovative research to set up independent multidisciplinary research programs relating to the following areas (but not completely restricted to):

Advances in Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering

Applicants must have a demonstrated excellent record of scientific productivity in the form of outstanding publications in peer reviewed scientific journals in areas listed above. Scientists with outstanding track records in innovation and product development must have a track record of internationally valid and productive patents and demonstrated interaction with commercial or industry partners. Applicants should have a commitment to excellence and willingness to collaborate in inter-disciplinary projects. Quality of scientific productivity, capability of independent thinking, track record of translational, clinical or applied research as well as extra mural funding will also be major factors in deciding the selection.

Investigators will be provided shared laboratory space and adequate start-up resources. They are expected to generate significant extramural project-based funding.

Salary and other benefits will be as per Government of India & BRIC-RGCB Institute rules and include dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance, leave travel concession and national pension scheme (defined contribution-based pension scheme of Government of India). SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR SCIENTISTS

Level 1 Screening

An Institutional Screening Committee (ISC) will be determining whether the applicant meets minimum prescribed qualifications for the advertised scientist position at BRIC-RGCB. Ineligible applicants without these needed minimum qualifications will be rejected and no further correspondence will be sent to them. Applications shortlisted after the Level I screening by the ISC will be sent for Level 2 screening.

Level 2 Screening

A Faculty Screening Committee (FSC) will analyze the applications forwarded to it by the ISC after Level 1 screening. Level 2 screening includes detailed review of the applicant's credentials, publications, achievements, etc. The FSC will decide whether the applicant can be considered and forward such recommendations to the Scientist Selection Committee (SSC). The Chairman of the Faculty Screening Committee will be a member of the SSC.

Final Selection Procedures

The SSC will speak to shortlisted applicants personally (either in person or through video conferencing), go over their plans and ideas with them and understand their long-term career goals. They will also assess the applicant's value to the development of BRIC-RGCB and its R&D programs. The SSC will take the final decision on whether to advice the institute to make an offer to the applicant and if so which grade of scientist is to be offered. The institute will then make a final administrative decision on this.

General Conditions/ Instructions

This is a rolling advertising and recruitment will be done based on available vacant positions at that time. The number of positions will be decided during final selection procedures; if more numbers of positions with identical job requirements is needed to be filled at appropriate time, such positions may also be filled by the Director, RGCB from among the list of shortlisted candidates on account of this Advertisement. However, the Director, BRIC-RGCB may or may not do so, at own discretion.
The Director, BRIC-RGCB reserves right not to fill any or all the posts advertised.

Applications are invited from motivated and eligible Indian citizens for one (1) position of Project Research Scientist I, (Non-medical) in the ICMR-sponsored research project entitled “Development of PCL-PMMA nanofiber reinforced composites and profiling of their oral microbiome for dental applications”, under the supervision of Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Paulomi Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata.

Date, Time, and Venue of Interview: Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The interview will be conducted from 11:30 am onwards.

Requirement for Post Doctoral Fellow – Gene Therapy

Applications are invited from interested candidates (1 Positions) for immediate requirement to work as Post Doctoral Fellow (applicants with PhD) under funded projects to develop gene therapy vectors for treatment of rare genetic disorders.

Duration: Initially for 3 years and can be extended. A minimum commitment of 3 years is necessary for these positions.

Qualifications: PhD in any branch of biology or biotechnology, but with experience working on mammalian systems, human disease biology, therapies, etc. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in molecular biology, gene construction/cloning, cell biology research is MANDATORY, experience in production and purification of viral vectors, experience with cGMP manufacturing will be preferred (experience in industry or academia are welcome).

Experience required: Candidates with experience in four or more of the following techniques is mandatory:

•Mammalian cell culture, transfection, aseptic techniques

•Plasmid production, bacterial culture, quality control

•Molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, QPCR, etc.

•Biochemistry techniques including protein isolation, immunoblotting, tissue staining techniques and microscopy.

•Chromatography techniques including IEX, affinity, experience with AKTA.

•Previous experience with viral vectors, cloning mammalian genes, bioreactor culture, animal handling and animal tissue experiments is preferred.

•Experience with cGMP processes

The role: The post holders will be primarily responsible to perform different vector production related techniques including cell culture, vector designing, plasmid production, chromatography (affinity and ion-exchange) based purification, quality control, detailed documentation, in vitro and in vivo experiments, bio-banking and participate in all the laboratory activities.

The post may require some travelling when required for experiments to be performed at core facilities.

Other selection criteria:

• A team player with excellent communication skills, including the ability to write scientific text and present data

• Experience of working in a research team and contributing ideas for new research projects. Salary: As per norms; salary details will be shared if selected, during the interview.

Qualifications: Master of Science in any branch of Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, with experience in mammalian cell systems, human disease biology, or molecular/cellular research. A minimum of 2 years of research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and/or molecular signaling is MANDATORY.

Experience Required Candidates with experience in two or more of the following techniques are mandatory:

•Mammalian cell culture, transfection, aseptic techniques, and cell-based assays.

•Molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA isolation, cloning, PCR, qPCR, and gene expression analysis.

•Protein and biochemical techniques, including Western blotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, tissue staining, microscopy, and imaging.

•Cellular signaling studies, including analysis of phosphorylation, transcriptional regulation, and protein–protein interactions.

•Flow cytometry and other cellular analysis techniques.

•Experience with primary cells, stem cells, organoids, or disease-relevant cellular models is preferred.

•Experience in animal handling and in vivo/ex vivo experiments is desirable.

The Role: The post holder will investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases, with emphasis on molecular signaling pathways and their regulation. Responsibilities will include mammalian cell culture, molecular and protein analysis, cellular assays, microscopy, data analysis, and in vitro/in vivo experimental studies. The role will also involve maintaining detailed experimental records, bio-banking, contributing to laboratory activities, and supporting manuscript and research proposal preparation. Occasional travel to core facilities or collaborating laboratories may be required for specialized experiments.

Other Selection Criteria

•A team player with excellent communication and scientific writing skills, including the ability to present and interpret research data.

Experience working in a multidisciplinary research team and contributing ideas towards new research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform routine procedure, using standardized procedure with moderate daily supervision.

· Ensure compliance with ISO 17025:2017 requirements and the laboratory’s Quality Management System (QMS).

· Participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.

· Review and approve SOPs, work instructions, and quality control records.

· Ensure traceability of measurements and maintenance of reference standards and cultures.

· Train, mentor, and assess the competency of technical staff.

· Schedule and supervise daily laboratory activities and ensure optimal utilization of resources. · Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

· Review and approve test reports, validation protocols, and other technical documents.

Brief Job Overview

The Scientist- II- Microbiology (Contract) has the following responsibilities:

Hands-on Bench work (100 %): Carries out experimentation in the Microbiology area of Biologics lab and records experimental data, ensuring clear and accurate transcription of results and calculations.

Plans daily work, records and review results and documents to ensure correctness and to fulfill targets on time.

Performs and records daily calibration of the equipment’s and prepares media/buffers & reagents as per requirement

Carries out experimentation/analysis in the Microbiology area of Biologics lab under supervision as per requirement

Records the lab related work in project laboratory notebook under strict supervision as per the requirement and ensuring clear and accurate transcription of results and calculations.

Completes assigned work with quality and in a timely manner.

Follows QMS practices and assists the superior in implementing laboratory procedures. Follows and ensures aspects related to safety, ethics and legal compliance.

Project Research Scientist -I (Non Medical)- ICMR BLUE SHOCK Trail Project

Job Summary:

Septic shock is a common and highly lethal ICU condition; Indian ICU data report mortality of up to 50–55%. A key driver of refractory vasodilation is excessive nitric oxide production through the NO–cGMP pathway. Methylene blue, an inhibitor of this pathway, is inexpensive and widely available, but high-quality evidence on its early use in septic shock — particularly from Indian ICUs — is lacking.

BLUE-SHOCK is a single-centre, prospective, randomized, open-label, blinded outcome assessment (PROBE), parallel-group controlled trial. One hundred adults meeting Sepsis-3 criteria for septic shock will be randomized 1:1, within 24 hours of vasopressor initiation, to receive either adjunctive intravenous methylene blue along with standard guideline-based care, or standard care alone.

The primary outcome is time to shock reversal (cessation of vasopressors for ≥ 6 consecutive hours). Secondary outcomes include cumulative norepinephrine-equivalent dose, mean arterial pressure, cardiac output and systemic vascular resistance over the first 48 hours, lactate clearance, duration of mechanical ventilation, ICU length of stay, 28-day mortality, adverse events, and ICU treatment cost. The study will also explore biomarker-based (IL-6, procalcitonin) and hemodynamic phenotypes associated with treatment response.

Salary : Rs.72,800/- p.m

Key Responsibilities:

Overall day-to-day scientific and operational management of the trial, including:

Screening of ICU admissions against Sepsis-3 eligibility criteria and maintenance of the screening and enrolment log.
Coordinating the informed consent process with the investigators, including consent from legally authorized representatives and re-consent on recovery of capacity
Implementing randomization and allocation concealment procedures (sequentially numbered opaque sealed envelopes) and safeguarding allocation records.
Supervising administration of the study intervention per protocol and monitoring protocol adherence and deviations.
Coordinating advanced hemodynamic monitoring (cardiac output, SVR, stroke volume variation), serial ABG/lactate sampling and biomarker (IL-6, procalcitonin) collection, storage and assay scheduling with the laboratory.
Supervising the work of the Project Technical Support–III staff and ensuring complete, accurate and timely CRF completion.
Database design and management, data quality control, periodic data audits, query resolution and preparation of the final cleaned dataset.
Coordinating statistical analysis with the study statistician and assisting in interpretation of results.
Recording, documenting and reporting adverse events and serious adverse events to the PI and the Institutional Ethics Committee; maintaining pharmacovigilance and safety records.
Maintaining regulatory and ethics documentation, CTRI registration and updates, SOPs and the trial master file; preparing progress, utilization and interim reports for ICMR.
Assisting in training of investigators and ICU staff on protocol and data collection procedures.
Assisting in preparation of manuscripts, conference presentations and the final project report.
Any other scientific or administrative task assigned by the Principal Investigator in connection with the project.

Eligibility Criteria:

First Class post-graduate degree, including an integrated post-graduate degree, in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Pharmacology / Clinical Research / Public Health or an allied discipline from a recognized university; OR
Second Class post-graduate degree, including an integrated post-graduate degree, with a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant subject from a recognized university.

Desirable:

Ph.D. or M.Phil. in a relevant subject; or a post-graduate qualification in clinical research / clinical epidemiology.
GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and ICMR National Ethical Guidelines certification.
Working knowledge of biostatistics and statistical software (SPSS / R / STATA) and of electronic data capture systems (REDCap or equivalent).
Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals

Essential qualifications for Project Associate – I (PAT-I):

The candidate would be working in microalgal mass cultivation, optimization of microalgal cultivation process, Oil extraction from microalgal biomass at lab scale and pilot scale, nutraceutical formulation, process development and demonstration of the above processes.

Job Requirement: Competency in microalgal mass cultivation, optimization of upstream conditions for improving biomass and lipid yield, and process scale up would be preferred.

Duration: This position are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
