FDP Objective

The FDP will introduce the skill of Molecular Dynamics Simulation to the participants through lecture, demonstration and one to one hands-on session. The objective of the workshop is to familiarize the participants with theoretical as well as practical concept of molecular dynamics simulation so that they can apply this technique in their study and research.

The expected outcome is that the participants should be able to conduct MD simulations using Gromacs for Protein-Ligand complex and able to analyze the output.

Eligibility:

All Bioscience/Botany/pharmacy/biotech/biochemistry/biophysics/Bioinformatics students, faculties and research scholar are eligible for this event.(No prior coding experience is required, must have basic computer skill on Windows)

About the Theme

Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation is a computational technique used in molecular modelling to study the dynamic behaviour of atoms and molecules over time. It provides valuable insights into the behaviour and properties of complex systems at the atomic level. Molecular simulations usually deployed to calculate or predict properties and quantities that may be difficult to observe experimentally. This thechnology is widely used in various scientific fields, such as chemistry, bioscience, materials science, and physics, to investigate molecular structures, conformational changes, thermodynamics, and kinetics of chemical reactions and other properties.

GROMACS is one of the most important and widely used molecular dynamics simulation software packages in computational bioscience because of its high performance, accuracy, and user-friendly workflow. It enables researchers to study the dynamic behavior, stability, and interactions of biomolecules such as proteins, nucleic acids, and protein–ligand complexes at the atomic level. GROMACS plays a crucial role in drug discovery, protein structure–function analysis, enzyme mechanism studies, and vaccine design by allowing realistic simulation of biological systems under physiological conditions. Its efficient algorithms, support for multiple force fields, and powerful analysis tools make it especially valuable for bioscience students, research scholars, and faculty for both learning and advanced research applications.

RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION

1. BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster located at Faridabad, with the mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.

2. BRIC-THSTI has built several inter-institutional collaborations and connectivity with industry supported by well-trained teams of research and laboratory staff. THSTI has established various centres namely

(a) Centre for Maternal and Child Health,

(b) Centre for Virus Research, Therapeutics and Vaccines

(d) Centre for Microbial Research,

(e) Centre for Immunobiology and Immunotherapy

(f) Centre for Drug Discovery

3. This recruitment is to fill up the vacancies for project positions at Clinical Development Services Agency (CDSA) center. CDSA is a niche center of THSTI established to facilitate development of affordable healthcare products for public health diseases. It is the only public Centre in the country created with a mandate to support and nurture cost-effective, high quality, not-for-profit technology-based preclinical and clinical product development as well as support clinical research conducted by public agencies. It works towards development of an eco-system for training and learning and work with public sector institutions, and small and medium enterprises (SME) to translate innovative technologies into medical products for public good.

CDSA The main objectives of CDSA are: a. As an academic Clinical Research Unit, to undertake & provide end -to- end clinical study support for investigators and SMEs in study planning, set up, conduct: project management, monitoring, data management, safety reporting, analysis and report writing b. Build research capacity and capability through high quality training in the area of clinical development/trials and regulation c. Support and strengthen clinical research environment in the country d. Regulatory science and policy support: provide tools and approaches to support researchers, regulators, health policy makers & industry.

Name of the Project Efficacy. • Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees, in any branch of Life Sciences with three (3) years post qualification experience in clinical trial monitoring. OR

Job profile The Research Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the execution and management of clinical trials across all stages. Working under the direction of the Project Manager and study monitors, they ensure the smooth operation of daily trial activities, maintain regulatory and trial documentation, and coordinate communication and logistics across study stakeholders. This role is expected to work independently on assigned tasks, proactively identify potential issues, and propose process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Trial Support & Documentation

• Coordinate and track the distribution and reconciliation of clinical trial supplies, laboratory kits, and investigational products to investigational sites.

• Ensure timely delivery and tracking of essential study documents and materials in accordance with study timelines and site activation plans.

• Maintain and regularly update trial tracking tools (e.g., enrollment logs, regulatory document trackers, training logs).

Regulatory & Site Start-up Support

• Support CRAs and site staff in the collection, review, and tracking of essential regulatory documents for ethics committee and regulatory authority submissions.

• Assist in preparing site initiation packages and supporting site readiness for activation.

• Liaise with regulatory, legal, and contracts departments to ensure timely processing of site contracts and confidentiality agreements. Trial Master File (TMF) Oversight

• Lead TMF set-up and ongoing maintenance, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and audit-readiness of clinical documentation.

• Perform periodic TMF quality control (QC) checks and contribute to TMF metrics and reconciliation activities.

• Support the development and implementation of TMF filing plans and oversight reports. Meeting Coordination & Communication

• Schedule, coordinate, and document clinical team meetings, site communications, and teleconferences; maintain meeting agendas and minutes.

• Assist with the organization and execution of investigator meetings, including logistics, preparation of materials, and follow-up documentation.

Data & Site Management

• Support CRAs with clinical data flow, Case Report Form (CRF) tracking, and resolution of data queries with investigational sites.

• May accompany CRAs on monitoring visits to gain on-site experience and provide additional support during critical phases of the trial. Cross-functional & Operational Support

• Serve as the central point of contact for the clinical team regarding projectspecific communications and documentation.

• Collaborate with Clinical Portfolio Management, Regulatory Affairs, Data Management, and Quality Assurance to ensure alignment of deliverables.

• Support budget tracking, invoice verification, and financial documentation coordination related to trial expenses and vendor contracts.

• PhD in any branch of Life Sciences with two (2) years post qualification experience in clinical trial monitoring.

Desirable qualifications and work experience:

• Experience of clinical trial or public health project management in a recognised organisation/institute (academic clinical trials unit, CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or device company).

• Demonstrable experience of line management, project management concepts, and ability to understand, explain and communicate project concepts using standard tools and templates

Job profile The Project Manager (Monitoring) will be responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of assigned clinical research studies through robust monitoring and oversight activities. The role focuses on clinical site monitoring, quality assurance, risk-based oversight, and capacity building, while working in close coordination with the central study, regulatory, and project management.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Monitoring & Oversight

• Conduct site qualification, initiation, routine monitoring, and close-out visits for assigned clinical research studies in accordance with approved monitoring plans.

• Perform both onsite and remote monitoring to ensure subject safety, protocol adherence, data accuracy, and documentation completeness.

• Review source documents, CRFs, informed consent forms, and essential documents to ensure compliance with protocol, GCP, and applicable regulations.

• Identify, document, and follow up on protocol deviations, non-compliance issues, and data discrepancies. • Ensure timely preparation and submission of monitoring visit reports and follow-up letters. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Support implementation and maintenance of quality management systems related to clinical monitoring and study oversight.

Job Profile

• The Senior Project Associate conducts monitoring visits for the assigned trial protocol and trial sites. Overall responsibilities are to ensure that the trial is being conducted in accordance with the protocol, standard operating procedures, good clinical practice, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Performs site monitoring throughout the trial which involves visiting the trial sites on a regular basis (site initiation to site closeout) in accordance with contracted scope of work.

• Performs quality functions and executing quality programs (clinical operations, clinical laboratory) as per GCP/GCLP and regulations

• Completes appropriate therapeutic, protocol and clinical research training to perform job duties.

• Setting up the trial sites such that each center has the trial materials, including the trial drug while ensuring all trial supplies are accounted for

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate-I in the DBT Indo-Canada project entitled “Understanding and exploiting the role of eukaryotic energy sensor TOR Kinase in enhancing thermotolerance and drought resistance in model and crop plants”, under the supervision of Dr. pinky Agarwal, Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR.

Emoluments ₹. 58000/- plus 27% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates should have Ph. D./MD/MS/MDS degree (awarded) in any discipline of Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Botany/Life Sciences/Plant Molecular Biology with at least one research paper in Science Citation indexed journal and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST OM number: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023 are eligible to apply.

Candidates with prior work experience in the laboratory with extensive plant molecular biology experience, especially on rice will be preferred. The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above positions is as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms.

The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended based on assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Research Assistant - 36 (A): The Research Assistant will support clinical and molecular research activities focused on diagnostic assay development and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nucleic acid extraction from clinical samples

• Assist in qPCR assay development, standardisation, and sample screening

• Handle clinical sample processing, storage, and documentation

• Support coordination with hospitals and clinicians for sample collection and surveillance studies

• Maintain laboratory records and assist in protocol execution

Essential Qualifications

• MSc in Life Sciences / Molecular Biology / Clinical Biochemistry / Medical Biochemistry

Desirable Experience

• Hands-on experience with:

o qPCR / RT-PCR

o Clinical sample handling

o BSL-II laboratory work

2. Research Associate – 36 (B): The Research Associate will lead components of molecular assay development and clinical validation, with a focus on AMR surveillance and translational diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently perform nucleic acid extraction and molecular workflows

• Lead qPCR assay development, optimisation, and standardization

• Oversee clinical sample screening and data generation

• Design and refine experimental protocols and workflows

• Work closely with hospital teams and clinicians on AMR surveillance programs

• Ensure high-quality data, documentation, and reporting

Essential Qualifications

• PhD Life Sciences / Molecular Biology / Clinical Biochemistry / Medical Biochemistry or MSc/MTech (With significant experience may also be considered)

Desirable Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in:

o qPCR assay development and validation

o Clinical diagnostics / infectious disease research

o Handling human samples in BSL-II settings

• Exposure to bioinformatics or data analysis is a plus Common Required Skills (Both Positions)

• Strong understanding of molecular biology techniques and workflows

• Experience with PCR-based diagnostics

• Good documentation, scientific writing, and communication skills • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications:

M. Sc. in any branch of biological sciences from any reputed university with NET / GATE qualified. Candidate with DBT- category – I and II are eligible as per funding agency rules.

Desirable Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines with strong academic records.

• Hands-on experience in molecular cloning, plasmid/vector construction, PCR, qRT-PCR, and recombinant DNA techniques.

• Experience in plant tissue culture, chloroplast transformation, agroinfiltration, or transplastomic approaches will be preferred.

• Knowledge of synthetic biology, operon engineering, metabolic engineering, and gene expression analysis in plants.

• Familiarity with protein expression, enzyme assays and biochemical characterization.

• Experience in bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis, codon optimization, primer design, and construct assembly is desirable.

• Candidates with exposure to CRISPR/genome editing, confocal microscopy, fermentation, or downstream bioprocessing will have an added advantage.

• Strong scientific writing, communication skills, and motivation for interdisciplinary research are essential.

Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Himachal Pradesh, India is offering summer training for the duration of 4/6 weeks in June-July 2026 in different areas of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics to Faculty/M.Tech./B.Tech/M.Sc./B.Sc. students (any branch/stream). Microbial Pathogens, Medical Genomics & Animal Handling: Handling of BSL1 & 2 organism, Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test, Immunodiagnostic techniques – Double Diffusion, Rocket Immunoelectrophoresis etc, ELISA, Agglutination and PCR based (DNA) Diagnostic Techniques, Identification of SNP through RFLP, DNA fingerprinting for forensics, cDNA sysnthesis, Quantitative real-time PCR.Exposure/visit to animal house maintenance, Feed, handling, ethics, experimentation procedure, disease models, etc.
Industrial Plant Tissue Culture: Establishment of callus/cell suspension cultures/somatic embryogenesis/artificial seeds; Different micropropagation techniques & technologies for different plant species; In vitro production and quantification of medicinally important secondary metabolites.
Bioinformatics: Fundamental concepts of bioinformatics, biological databases and biological sequence alignments and analysis, phylogenetic analysis, Structure prediction and validation, Docking, functional and computational Genomics, Web development for Bioinformatics, Computational Systems Biology and Pathway Analysis. Basics of NGS technologies and data analysis.(student may choose areas to work)
Industrial Biotechnology&Food Biotechnology: Food fruit juice fermentation, Food analysis and quality control (Sugar content, pH, phenolic content, anti-oxidant content, ethanol content), Downstream processing. Monod’s Growth kinetic parameters, Immobilization of whole yeast cells.
Enzyme Technology:Folin-Lowry’s and Bradford Method for protein concentration estimation, Michaelis Menten kinetic parameters (Vmax, KM, Ks, Kcat), Ammonium sulphate precipitation, Enzyme Dialysis, SDS-PAGE, Enzyme Immobilization.
Nanobiotechnology: Introduction, Nanomaterial synthesis: Synthesis of silver, zinc and copper nanoparticles, Nanomaterial characterization using various analytical technique such as UV-vis spectroscopy, Functionalization of nanoparticles using various biocompatible ligand, Nanomaterial-ligand interaction, Applications: antimicrobial activity and MIC calculation. Surface-wetting characterization using contact-angle measurements, Viscosity and Ultrasonic studies of different samples.
Genomic and Proteomic Technologies: Quantification and quality determination of genomic materials, microbial identification using molecular methods. Protein extraction from different biological samples, quantification and quality check prior to mass spectrometry based proteome analysis, contaminants removal from protein samples using the precipitation methods, 1DE and 2DE methods for gel based comparative proteomic analysis.

Emoluments ₹. 42000/- plus 27% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates should have Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Medicine with four years-experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services OR

Doctoral degree in Science / Engineering / Technology from a recognized university or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines of DST-OM number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020, are eligible to apply.

The candidates having prior hands-on work experience in molecular biology techniques, CRISPR, transformation in crop plants, handling NGS data is desirable. The upper age limit of the post is 40 years as per above mentioned DSTOM.
