Job Responsibilities

· Ensure proper implementation and documentation of the informed consent process.

· Ensure accurate data entry, data management, and timely reporting through online systems.

· Maintain site source documents, medical records, essential study documents, and investigator/site files.

· Coordinate with other site study teams and investigators for timely resolution of study-related queries and deviations.

2. PROJECT RESEARCH SCIENTIST-I (NON-MEDICAL)

Job Responsibilities

· Assist in the planning, coordination, and conduct of the multicenter research study.

· Perform data cleaning, analysis, interpretation, and preparation of study reports under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

· Assist in the evaluation and documentation of AI-assisted endoscopy findings for early detection of UGI malignancies.

· Coordinate with participating centers and study personnel to ensure timely collection and submission of study data.

· Assist in preparation of research reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other project-related documents.

· Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to the approved study protocol, institutional guidelines, and applicable ethical requirements.

The details of the position are as follows.

Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)- 01 posts.:

Emoluments as per DBT/DST norms.

Qualification: Candidates should have Master’s degree or its equivalent in any branch of Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or any other related field with two years’ post-master’s degree research experience in the relevant areas, and having CSIR-UGC NET/GATE and fulfilling the guidelines/norms of DST OM No: DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023, are eligible.

Furthermore, candidates with strong biochemistry skills and experience in protein purification from E. coli or Pichia will be given preference.

Project Description: The host laboratory has engineered a plant-based globin gene with superior iron-loading capacity within the porphyrin ring and has optimized a large-scale protein production protocol in E. coli. Under this project, the JRF is expected to generate Pichia pastoris (green yeast) strains for the low-cost, large-scale production of this protein and to use the E. coli purified protein for organoleptic property testing in food matrices.

Appointment Details The above positions are completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.

The initial appointment for the above post will be for one year or until the tenability of the project, whichever is earlier, and the tenure of the post may be curtailed/extended based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and at the discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be in accordance with the Government of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month's notice by either side. Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Project Associate-I in the BMGF-funded project entitled: "Development of climate resilient Chickpea and Brassica" under the supervision of Dr. Shiv Meena, Scientist, NIPGR. Project Associate-I (one post): Emoluments: As per guidelines prescribed in the below mentioned OM of DST.

Qualification: Candidates having a Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent and fulfilling the guidelines of DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated July 10, 2020 are eligible to apply.

Experience: Hands-on experience in cold-stress biology of plants, including multiplex cloning (e.g., Green Gate/Golden Gate-based systems), cold-stress-responsive gene expression analysis, CRISPR= Cas9/Cas12- mediated genome editing, cold-stress phenotyping, and genotyping will be preferred.

Upper age limit- 35 Years. This position is purely temporary, initially till the tenability of project i.e. upto July 31st 2027.

The appointment may be curtailed based on the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the competent authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the most suitable candidate based on qualifications and experience. Reservation of posts shall be as per Government of India norms. The mandate of the institute is discovery, innovation and translation in biotechnology and disease biology. Over the last few decades BRIC-RGCB has witnessed remarkable achievements in various domains of biotechnology. BRIC-RGCB is now poised to enter the next phase of translational and interdisciplinary research in identified high priority areas of Cancer Research, Pathogen Biology, Neurobiology, Cardiovascular disease and diabetes biology and Plant biotechnology & disease biology program.

Applicants must have a demonstrated excellent record of scientific productivity in the form of outstanding publications in peer reviewed scientific journals in areas listed above. Scientists with outstanding track records in innovation and product development must have a track record of internationally valid and productive patents and demonstrated interaction with commercial or industry partners. Applicants should have a commitment to excellence and willingness to collaborate in inter-disciplinary projects. Quality of scientific productivity, capability of independent thinking, track record of translational, clinical or applied research as well as extra mural funding will also be major factors in deciding the selection.

Investigators will be provided shared laboratory space and adequate start-up resources. They are expected to generate significant extramural project-based funding.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR SCIENTISTS

Level 1 Screening

An Institutional Screening Committee (ISC) will be determining whether the applicant meets minimum prescribed qualifications for the advertised scientist position at BRIC-RGCB. Ineligible applicants without these needed minimum qualifications will be rejected and no further correspondence will be sent to them. Applications shortlisted after the Level I screening by the ISC will be sent for Level 2 screening.

Level 2 Screening

A Faculty Screening Committee (FSC) will analyze the applications forwarded to it by the ISC after Level 1 screening. Level 2 screening includes detailed review of the applicant's credentials, publications, achievements, etc. The FSC will decide whether the applicant can be considered and forward such recommendations to the Scientist Selection Committee (SSC). The Chairman of the Faculty Screening Committee will be a member of the SSC.

Final Selection Procedures

The SSC will speak to shortlisted applicants personally (either in person or through video conferencing), go over their plans and ideas with them and understand their long-term career goals. They will also assess the applicant's value to the development of BRIC-RGCB and its R&D programs. The SSC will take the final decision on whether to advice the institute to make an offer to the applicant and if so which grade of scientist is to be offered. The institute will then make a final administrative decision on this.

General Conditions/ Instructions

This is a rolling advertising and recruitment will be done based on available vacant positions at that time. The number of positions will be decided during final selection procedures; if more numbers of positions with identical job requirements is needed to be filled at appropriate time, such positions may also be filled by the Director, RGCB from among the list of shortlisted candidates on account of this Advertisement. Applications are invited from motivated and eligible Indian citizens for one (1) position of Project Research Scientist I, (Non-medical) in the ICMR-sponsored research project entitled “Development of PCL-PMMA nanofiber reinforced composites and profiling of their oral microbiome for dental applications”, under the supervision of Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Paulomi Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Institute of Health Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata.

Date, Time, and Venue of Interview: Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The interview will be conducted from 11:30 am onwards.

Job description: The fellow will contribute to the fabrication and characterization of polymeric nanofibers and dental composites followed by their cell compatibility and animal studies.

The fellow will take part in publishing the scientific findings in reputed peer-reviewed international journals.

He/she is encouraged to set up collaborations with other members of the department at Presidency University.

Tenure of Assignment: Till February 2027 subject to the availability of funds by the funding agency.

Fellowship/Salary:Rs. 58800 + Rs. 17640 (30%HRA) = Rs. 76,440 per month

Requirement for Post Doctoral Fellow – Gene Therapy

Applications are invited from interested candidates (1 Positions) for immediate requirement to work as Post Doctoral Fellow (applicants with PhD) under funded projects to develop gene therapy vectors for treatment of rare genetic disorders.

Duration: Initially for 3 years and can be extended. A minimum commitment of 3 years is necessary for these positions.

Qualifications: PhD in any branch of biology or biotechnology, but with experience working on mammalian systems, human disease biology, therapies, etc. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in molecular biology, gene construction/cloning, cell biology research is MANDATORY, experience in production and purification of viral vectors, experience with cGMP manufacturing will be preferred (experience in industry or academia are welcome).

Experience required: Candidates with experience in four or more of the following techniques is mandatory:

•Mammalian cell culture, transfection, aseptic techniques

•Plasmid production, bacterial culture, quality control

•Molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, QPCR, etc.

•Biochemistry techniques including protein isolation, immunoblotting, tissue staining techniques and microscopy.

•Chromatography techniques including IEX, affinity, experience with AKTA.

•Previous experience with viral vectors, cloning mammalian genes, bioreactor culture, animal handling and animal tissue experiments is preferred.

•Experience with cGMP processes

The role: The post holders will be primarily responsible to perform different vector production related techniques including cell culture, vector designing, plasmid production, chromatography (affinity and ion-exchange) based purification, quality control, detailed documentation, in vitro and in vivo experiments, bio-banking and participate in all the laboratory activities.

The post may require some travelling when required for experiments to be performed at core facilities.

• A team player with excellent communication skills, including the ability to write scientific text and present data

Qualifications: Master of Science in any branch of Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, with experience in mammalian cell systems, human disease biology, or molecular/cellular research. A minimum of 2 years of research experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and/or molecular signaling is MANDATORY.

The Role: The post holder will investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases, with emphasis on molecular signaling pathways and their regulation.
